    How to insert complex strings into Actionscript? So I have a string -vvv -I rc w:// v dv s="60x40" --ut="#scode{vcode=FV1,acode=p3,ab=128,ch=2,rate=4400}:dup{dt=st{ac=http{mime=v/x-flv},mux=mpeg{v},dt=:80/sm.fv}}" How to insert it into code like public var SuperPuperComplexString:String = new String(); SuperPuperComplexString = TO_THAT_COMPLEX_STRING; That string has so many problems like some cart of it can happen to be like regexp BUTI DO NOT want it to be parsed as any kind of reg exp - I need It AS IT IS!) How to put that strange string into variable (put it not inputing it thru UI - hardcode it into AS code)?

  • List Component that acts as if control was permanently pressed

    Hey, I have a list control and i want the user to be able to select many items at a time. Thus I want it to act that if the control key is pressed while he is clicking. Eg if he clicks on a selected row it should become unselected and if he clicks on a unselected row it should become selected. Do you have any idea how to do this? Thanks, Dennis

  • swf doesn't respond when relocating it

    Hi, i have in my program few swf files and using mxmlc i compile the application into one swf file. when i open the swf from the output directory(just dbl click) everything works fine. But, when i copy the directory to another location in the hardisk the application stops responding (i can see my swf main picture and its buttons in it. But, when i click a button which just popup a message, it doesn't work!) any help?

    Consider the following mx:Button: <mx:Button click="doSomething()" id="myButton"/> Is there some way to programmatically emulate the user clicking the button? One obvious way to do it would simply be to call doSomething() which would give the same end result as clicking the button. But I'm specifically looking for ways to emulate the click -- that is something along the lines of myButton.click() (if that should have existed).

    There is an ongoing argument on the web right now about the "openness" of the iPhone OS and Adobe Flash platforms. Adobe's argument is that anyone can build a Flash application without having to worry about being allowed to distribute it. This made me wonder… is it possible to build and distribute an AIR application without giving any money to Adobe (without violating any licenses, of course)? Are any of these tools free? Are any open-source?

    I have a requiremnt where my Air application loads ZIP files instead of swf. The zip contains all swf ,images and other files.   • Does window.open not work inside an AIR html component?

    I have a component in AIR like so: <mx:HTML id="html" width="100%" height="100%" location="https://example.com" locationChange="dispatchLocationChange(event)" /> The page it loads contains this: <a onclick="alert('onclick')">Alert</a> <a href="javascript:alert('js')">Alert</a> <a onclick="window.open('http://www.google.com','_blank')">new window</a> The 2 alerts both work. however nothing happens when you click the new window link. all 3 links works when in a real browser so I know its ok. Is there just no support for window.open in the AIR HTML component? or is this a bug? Is there a work around?

  • trouble with custom 'Text Bubble' component (examples included)

    I'm trying to use a custom Text component to show a series of comments. I got the original idea from: http://www.eonflex.com/?p=40 I've got the base case working but I am stuck with 2 problems I cant seem to figure out: Since I am drawing around the text, the actual height of each bubble is greater than that of the Text field, as a result, the last bubble is always chopped off. I have tried explicitly overriding the height getter, and adding some padding, but I cant seem to get it right. You can see an example here: http://test.lambandtunafish.com/bubbles/CommentTest.swf In my layout, I have 2 VBoxes (one nested inside the other). The first vbox shows a form where the user can enter a comment, and the second box has all the comments. In order to ensure that the scrollbars only show up on the second box, I set minHeight="0" on the nested VBox, but then for some reason, some comments' text is shifted to the right.     Hi - I've gotten a checkbox header renderer to work well with flat DPs, but a hierarchical collection view is another story. On click, I want it to select all checkboxes in a given column. Here is my code: var dp:HierarchicalCollectionView = _dataGrid.dataProvider as HierarchicalCollectionView; var testDp:GroupingCollection = dp.source as GroupingCollection; var rawDp:ArrayCollection = testDp.source as ArrayCollection; for(var i:int=0 ; i < rawDp.length ; i++){ rawDp[i][_dataField] = cb.selected; } It selects all checkboxes on the 2nd level of data, but doesn't select the top level of data. What am I missing here? I can't seem to find it. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • filter functions problem

    I'm working on a search component for an app I'm working on and I needed to add some filters to it. I've found an example and got the first filter working fine. Now I'm trying to add a second filter I'm running into problems... In the example I found they use filterFunctions, but I only get an option for filterFunction, why is that? Here's the example code productsCollection.filterFunctions = [ filterByPrice, filterByType, filterByCondition, filterByVendor ] And this is what I'm trying acData.filterFunction = [filterByStatus, filterByDate] but with this code I get the following error message - 1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type Array to an unrelated type Function. Why am I getting this error and how would I go about add multiple filters to my Array Collection? Thanks!

My Event List is a list of panels so I want to pass parameters and generate dynamically n number of panels (n-parameter to pass). I have the main app where I have toggle button bar when I click on the first I want for example to generate 3 panels (n=3) on the second button 20 panels (n=20) etc. How can I do this? How can I pass n and what is the best way to show the list? I whant to generate the list when I click on the toggle button!

It does not fill the entire width of the linkButton. Anyone know why this is happening?
