jQuery Cluetip not activated until after hover or click event

I'm not sure what is causing this, but I am using cluetip and binding it to a live event (either click or mouseenter), but in each situation the cluetip isn't firing until after one click or hover event. I am using the live event for ajax loaded content, but I'm also having this issue with non-Ajax loaded content. I'm not sure why this is happening - can anyone see where I might be going wrong? Recommended way to manage persistent PHP script processes?

First off - hello, this is my first Stack Overflow question so I'll try my best to communicate properly. The title of my question may be a bit ambiguous so let me expand upon it immediately: I'm planning a project which involves taking data inputs from several "streaming" APIs, Twitter being one example. I've got a basic script coded up in PHP which runs indefinitely from the command line, taking input from the Twitter streaming API and doing very basic things with it. My eventual objective is to have several such processes running (perhaps daemonized using the System Daemon PEAR class), and I would like to be able to manage them from some governing process (also a PHP script). By manage I mean basic operations such as stop/start and (most crucially) automatically restarting a process that crashes. I would appreciate any pointers on how best to approach this process management angle. Again, apologies if this question is too expansive - tips on more tightly focused lines of enquiry would be appreciated if necessary. Thanks for reading and I look forward to your answers.

git: having 2 push/pull repos in sync (or 1 push/pull and 1 pull in sync)

Hello, We work on multiple geographically seperate sites. Today I have our git clones all live on one site A. Then users from site B have to ssh over to do a git clone or to push in changes. These are bare repos where the update is through pushes. Ideally, for git clone/push performance, I'd like to limit having to go over ssh. I'd like to have a copy of git repo X live on site A and site B... and have some syncing mechanism between them. OR to have X live on both sites, but only allow pushing to A (and have that setup correctly at clone time on B) I'm worried about the case where someone on site A pushes changes to the repo at site A at the same time that someone on site B pushes a truely conflicting change to the repo at site B. Is there some 'sync'ing solution built into git for distributed open repos like this? Or a way to have a clone from X set the origin/parent to the X from the other site? thanks, -John

How do you write a consistent UI Automation for MS? MSAA & UI Automation don't seem to overlap.

Working on a general Automation tool, considering moving from Win32 Message hooks to .net UI Automation, however the feature set of UI Automation doesn't cover all we have in Win32 and still doesn't seem to support all the GUI on Windows. One such example is Windows Live Messenger. Windows Live messenger 2009 is still using the older DirectUIHwnd to draw the gui. This means that you can't use windows messages to send to the controls, because the controls don't have their own HWND. It also seems to defeat the new .net UI Automation framework though the documentation seems to make out as if it can be joined in the UI Automation and Microsoft Active Accessibility document. Looking at MS Accessibility pointed to Active Accessibility 2.0 SDK Tools which showed that MSAA can interact with the contents. Is there some trick to getting the older MSAA technology that UI Automation seems to be trying to replace to actually work with UI Automation? I'd rather not have multiple solutions trying to automate the same windows for windows unlike Windows Live Messenger where each of these techniques is valid and will work.

I am using the Codeigniter framework but I am not sure if the problem lies there. Also using %20 or just a space in the url bar produces no different results. Track unicode words from Twitter using Ruby and the Tweetstream API

I am trying to track a set of keywords from Twitter by using the Streaming API (can't post the link here because of spam limitations: google twitter streaming API). I am doing this inside Ruby, using the TweetStream gem: http://bit.ly/cODAWI The problem I have is that I want to track keywords that contain some unicode/UTF-8 characters. For instance: require 'rubygems' require 'tweetstream' TweetStream::Client.new("my_user_name", "my_password").track("é") do |s| puts s.text end (you can try it out, provided you installed the tweetstream and json gems) This piece of code does not print anything, while replacing "é" with "e" outputs a bunch of tweets continuously. Copy 2 databases without detach in SQL 2005

Hello I have a server with live databases, and I have a test-server where I sometimes restore databases from the live one, to get fresh data. But this way I have to set up all the users again, I have about 4 different users with different permissions that need set again. Is there some way to do this a better way without using detach and attach, since I cant take the databases offline on the live-server? Prefered some thing I could run that "re-fills" the tables with fresh data. No need to redo stored procedures and rights. /M

Mirror a website with httrack while executing javascript

I want do save a mirror of www.youtube.com/tv. I obviously do not want to save the videos. I want the code running the website in a local copy, everything else can stay remote. The code I want is mainly contained in 2 files: live.js and app-prod.js. I tried using httrack. I have issue parsing the javascript to load anything past the first file: live.js. The %P parameter does not help. httrack www.youtube.com/tv +* -r6 --mirror -%P -j It doesn't go further than live.js because some javascript needs to be executed to load the next file. I know I can do this manually with any browser. I want to automate the process. Is httrack able to do this by itself? If yes, how?

Set Focus After Last Character in Text Box

I have 3 text boxes for a phone number. As the user types, it automatically moves from one textbox to the next. When the user presses backspace, I can move focus to the previous text box. The problem is that in IE, focus is set to the beginning of the text box. Get value from ajax-loaded form before submitting

Hi, I have an app that loads an ajax form when a button is clicked. I then want to check a value in that ajax loaded form called "comment_content" so that I don't send an ajax request if the comment_content is empty. I can capture the form submission using the live method, however, I can't capture the form element because it needs an element. I was looking at livequery but was wondering if there is a more efficient way by using live or if that I shouldn't even bother? MPMoviePlayerController seems to make 2 calls for each movie

I seem to have an issue where an iphone app using the MPMoviePlayerController seems to make 2 calls to the server for each video it wants to play back. This occurs with iphone 3.x OS and libraries but not with iphone 2.x. I know that iphone does progressive download and will make multiple 206 requests, etc. but as far as our back end is concerned the player appears to make 2 separate sessions. This only appears to be an issue with iPhone native apps and not iphone videos played through safari. Additional info from apple: iPhone OS 3.0 added support for streaming audio and video over HTTP, and MPMoviePlayerController must validate the media before playback to determine if it is streaming content or progressively downloaded content. This is the delay you are experiencing. On a fast network, the delay should be minimized. Is this double check causing 2 sessions be created for each video request? Any one else seeing same issue? Is there a remedy?

After some configuration changed from live server to local, the site is working with no problem, however, there is no admin page! If I go to localhost/magento/admin, it takes me to 404 page and throw error: The requested URL /magento/admin was not found on this server. How do I fix this? Thanks lots. Cannot redeclare config() error in cakePHP

Hi, I am getting the error Fatal error: Cannot redeclare config() (previously declared in.../basics.php:58, in live server. It works fine in my local server but when i uploaded the site to live server, i got the fatal error. I checked if the config() was declared multiple times but it's only declared once in basics.php file. The naming conventions are also followed, as it is working fine in local server. It only displays such error in live site. Please suggest solution for this. Help on this will be much appreciated.

How to handle dependency files in a cross-platform manner?

I'm working on updating an old app. It has some dependency files that live in the same directory as the app. Obviously this broke when Windows Vista came out (since it violates the API and Vista/7 now enforce that (XP didn't)). Ideally, I'd like to avoid hardcoding anything into the app for just Windows. I can live with that if I have to though. I've already been down that path with pulling the APPDATA and LOCALAPPDATA environment variables, but that doesn't help any since they just give you the current user area... I need these to live somewhere accessible for all users, and I'd like to obey the Windows API expectations that they go into the all user appdata area. Suggestions?

I am going to write a mapper and reducer for the kmeans algorithm, I think the best course of action to do is putting the distance calculator in mapper and sending to reducer with the cluster id as key and coordinates of row as value. In reducer, updating the centroids would be performed. I am writing this by python. As you know, I have to use Hadoop streaming to transfer data between STDIN and STOUT. according to my knowledge, when we print (key + "\t"+value), it will be sent to reducer. Reducer will receive data and it calculates the new centroids but when we print new centroids, I think it does not send them to mapper to calculate new clusters and it just send it to STDOUT and as you know, kmeans is a iterative program. So, my questions is whether Hadoop streaming suffers of doing iterative programs and we should employ MRJOB for iterative programs?

C#/XNA Giant Memory Leak

this is my first post here. I'm making a game in Visual Studio 2010 using XNA, and i've hit a giant memory leak. My game starts out using 17k ram and then after ten minutes it's upto 65k. I ran some memory profilers, and they all say that new instances of the String object are being created, but they aren't live. The amount of live instances of String hasn't changed at all. It's also creating instances of Char[] (which i'd expect from it), Object[], and StringBuilder. My game is pretty new but there's too much code to post here. I have no idea how to get rid of instances that aren't live, please help!

SVN files edited thru FTP, How do I fix the edited files so they work thru SVN again?

Basically, a 3rd party analyst we brought on to make some improvements to our site decided to edit files directly on the live server threw FTP. Any time we make changes to those pages threw SVN we have PHP parse errors. Things should be edited threw the SVN and committed. We have our working copies setup so we can edit them how ever we want while having them running under apache for testing. We commit all of our changes to a local repository, then commit from there to the live server. The code on the live server that causes the parse error has " .mine" and " .rxxxx", and my question is, how can I revert those files back to before they were edited thru FTP so I can update them threw SVN again?

Drupal 6: moving localhost to server | clear cached data

Hi friends, I worked on localhost to build my drupal site. then, I moved to server. Steps: Clear cache tables (Site Configuration Performance Clear Cached Data button) on localhost Export db and then import on live server Move files/folders to live server Edit settings.php to reflect live server config everything is working great until I make Clear Cached Data on Server. than my custom theme, custom front page, etc... all mess up :( What can be the problem? I used a subtheme for Zen, named mgf . then I had taken a back-up as mgf- somehow after I make Clear Cached Data, Drupal links to this mgf- which is old and doesnt have latest stylings. I just removed this folder from themes, and it linked to the right-latest mgf.

How to Animate Text and Objects in PowerPoint 2010

Are you looking for an eye catching way to keep your audience interested in your PowerPoint presentations? Today we’ll take a look at how to add animation effects to objects in PowerPoint 2010. Select the object you wish to animate and then click the More button in the Animation group of the Animation tab. Animations are grouped into four categories. Entrance effects, Exit effects, Emphasis effects, and Motion Paths. You can get a Live Preview of how the animation will look by hovering your mouse over an animation effect. When you select a Motion Path, your object will move along the dashed path line as shown on the screen. (This path is not displayed in the final output) Certain aspects of the Motion Path effects are editable. When you apply a Motion Path animation to an object, you can select the path and drag the end to change the length or size of the path. The green marker along the motion path marks the beginning of the path and the red marks the end. The effects can be rotated by clicking and the bar near the center of the effect. You can display additional effects by choosing one of the options at the bottom. This will pop up a Change Effect window. If you have Preview Effect checked at the lower left you can preview the effects by single clicking. Apply Multiple Animations to an Object Select the object and then click the Add Animation button to display the animation effects. Just as we did with the first effect, you can hover over to get a live preview. Click to apply the effect. The animation effects will happen in the order they are applied. Animation Pane You can view a list of the animations applied to a slide by opening the Animation Pane. Select the Animation Pane button from the Advanced Animation group to display the Animation Pane on the right. You’ll see that each animation effect in the animation pane has an assigned number to the left. Timing Animation Effects You can change when your animation starts to play. By default it is On Click. To change it, select the effect in the Animation Pane and then choose one of the options from the Start dropdown list. With Previous starts at the same time as the previous animation and After Previous starts after the last animation. You can also edit the duration that the animations plays and also set a delay. You can change the order in which the animation effects are applied by selecting the effect in the animation pane and clicking Move Earlier or Move Later from the Timing group on the Animation tab. Effect Options If the Effect Options button is available when your animation is selected, then that particular animation has some additional effect settings that can be configured. You can access the Effect Option by right-clicking on the the animation in the Animation Pane, or by selecting Effect Options on the ribbon. The available options will vary by effect and not all animation effects will have Effect Options settings. In the example below, you can change the amount of spinning and whether the object will spin clockwise or counterclockwise. Under Enhancements, you can add sound effects to your animation. When you’re finished click OK. Animating Text Animating Text works the same as animating an object. Simply select your text box and choose an animation. Text does have some different Effect Options. By selecting a sequence, you decide whether the text appears as one object, all at once, or by paragraph. As is the case with objects, there will be different available Effect Options depending on the animation you choose. Some animations, such as the Fly In animation, will have directional options. Testing Your Animations Click on the Preview button at any time to test how your animations look. You can also select the Play button on the Animation Pane.
