  There is a m2m relation in my models, User and Role. I want to merge a role, but i DO NOT want this merge has any effect on user and role relation-ship. Unfortunately, for some complicate reason, role.users if not empty. I tried to set role.users = None, but SA complains None is not a list. At this moment, I use sqlalchemy.orm.attributes.del_attribute, but I don't know if it's provided for this purpose.

• Activation Function, Initializer function, etc, effects on neural networks for face detection

  There's various activation functions: sigmoid, tanh, etc. And there's also a few initializer functions: Nguyen and Widrow, random, normalized, constant, zero, etc. So do these have much effect on the outcome of a neural network specialising in face detection? Right now I'm using the Tanh activation function and just randomising all the weights from -0.5 to 0.5. I have no idea if this is the best approach though, and with 4 hours to train the network each time, I'd rather ask on here than experiment!

  So, for instance facebook's search bar has faint word that says "search", but when you click on the bar, it becomes blank and you may begin typing, when you click away the "search" goes back. Similarly, SO's ask a question title box has faint words that go away when you start typing. I'm not too sure what this effect is called, but I'm wondering if theres a jQuery plugin that helps to achieve this. This isn't particularly difficult to program, but I thought why reinvent the wheel if someone already made a plugin for it.

  I have an array of CGPoints, and I'd like to fill the whole screen with colours, the colour of each pixel depending on the total distance to each of the points in the array. The natural way to do this is to, for each pixel, compute the total distance, and turn that into a colour. Questions follow: 1) How can I colour a single pixel in Quartz? The issue is if I switch the focus from UITextView to UIWebView, the keyboard window flicker(hides and then shows). ie, I got UIKeyboardWillHideNotification and UIKeyboardDidShowNotification But, this is not happening when I switch the other way. ies, I got only UIKeyboardDidShowNotification Is there any way to avoid this flickering effect? Note: I also notices if I have multiple UITextField and UIWebView, this issue is not happening with the same type of views.

  I've created an animation using script.aculo.us. However, when the animation is finished, I want to have it reset all the objects and perform the animation again. I plan to just reset the positions of the objects manually, but how can I make the animations loop? If I put the effect declarations inside a for or while loop, it just crashes the browser. Any ideas?

  Is there a way to specify how an image is scaled up in an Image element with LayoutTransform set to a ScaleTransform with integer values for ScaleX and ScaleY? I want to display the scaled image crisply (ie using 'nearest neighbour' scaling), with no blurring. (Imagine how you would want a bitmap editing program to behave when zooming in). I noticed the protected property VisualBitmapScalingMode on Image, so created a subclass of Image that sets this property to BitmapScalingMode.NearestNeighbor. However, this had no effect.
