  • How do you specify a really large character in UIButton?

    - by Epsilon Prime
I have a series of buttons that have suit symbols on them. Currently I provide these suit symbols as bitmaps. In preparation for iPhone 4 I'd like to use text instead. However Interface Builder rescales the button to account for whitespace underneath the symbol so I can't get the image to fill the button completely. Any hints on getting Interface Builder to behave?

  • Show all datatips for a single lineseries

    - by rchung77
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to show all datatips for a single lineseries in a Flex 3 linechart. This chart will have multiple lines and the functionality we're looking for is when a user hovers over a line, show all datatips associated with just that series. Any help would be appreciated. showAllDataTips will not work in this case as it will display all datatips on the chart. Thanks! Rich

I would like to find more of these tutorials/demos.

  • Align objects to curve with canvas

    - by mitjak
Is it possible? I'm learning canvas at the moment, and while it's fun to position objects programmatically, it would be most interesting to come up with a way to align them to a curve. E.g. align a series of squares back to back along a wavy line or a circle.

  • A reliable, Australia-based ASP.NET Web Hosting

    - by Leonardo
In the excellent Secret Geek’s Building a Micro-ISV series, Leon Bambrick admits that he prefers to host his sites in the US because of the prices and proximity to his target market. For Australian companies and start-ups, what’s the best ASP.NET web hosting in the country? Should a company consider hosting its website overseas even if the potential market is in here?

  • Reporting Trend Line

    - by Dave Jarvis
Hi, How would you create a line in JasperReports that follows the trend for the data, in addition to showing the data points? Here are before and after shots: Before After The Time Series report does not appear to have any such option to draw the orange line. (The orange line should be smooth, and thinner, but that's the general idea.) Any ideas how to craft such a report?

  • Problem with routes and mod-rewrite (if not absolute i don't get CSS, JS or images)

    - by Toni Michel Caubet
hi there! i updated the code from my website to a 'better' veersion i think, it works fine but when i try to implement the friendly URL and load it, works, but with no CSS, Javascript or images, but if i corret the routes for the css to http://website/css/style.css (instead of ./css/style.css) it i do see the CSS properly loaded, any idea why? Example: http://keepyourlinks.com/link1.php?id=25 VS http://keepyourlinks.com/keep/25/series-yonkis (i updated the route of the CSS, but the Javascript is missing an the images asweell) I really would like not to have to correct al routes :(

  • Is it possible to create a patch using a set of changelists?

    - by webXL
Problem: 2 projects shared trunk and were updating some of the same files. Now one project needs to be released, so a new branch was created from a checkpoint before the projects started. I have a list of just my changelist numbers from the mainline. Using that I can generate a list changed files and diff output using a script with a series of 'p4 describe #' commands. Can I reformat that output and apply it to the new branch somehow?

  • How can I run an external program from C and parse its output?

    - by Josh Matthews
I've got a utility that outputs a list of files required by a game. How can I run that utility within a C program and grab its output so I can act on it within the same program? UPDATE: Good call on the lack of information. The utility spits out a series of strings, and this is supposed to be complete portable across Mac/Windows/Linux. Please note, I'm looking for a programmatic way to execute the utility and retain its output (which goes to stdout).

  • Geometry library for python (or C++) for CAD-like operations?

    - by gct
I'm trying to put together a simple program that will let me visualize a series of consecutive cuts on a wood panel using a router with a particular cutting head. I'm trying to find a decent geometry library that will give me a shortcut through the CAD-like stuff. Specifically, I'd like to be able to define a rectangular solid (the wood panel) and then define a bit profile shape, and take cuts through the rectangular solid (sometimes on a straight line, sometimes on a circular arc). Does anyone know of anything that will do this?

  • How to create picture slideshows in a rails project? Flash or otherwise

    - by Janak
In a rails project how would I create a picture slideshow? It could be generated as flash or use prototype or something else. I just want a series of images (as a sub-part of a web page, not be the whole page) to fade into each other, and to advance manually if clicked. It would be nice if I could do things like slowly zoom into the images I imagine there must be a plugin or something to handle this?

  • Using a model to represent the overall state of a view

    - by James P.
Is there a standard practise for representing the state of a user interface that is not linked to a single Component? For example, a Swing interface could have a series of tabs with a constraint that a single tab should only be displayed once per a given entity type (this could be represented as a HashSet). Or a message could give the result of the last operation carried out. Or a JPanel could be linked to a single entity instance for editing purposes.

  • Problems with usually short solutions to test in a programming language

    - by sub
I'm currently creating an experimental programming language for fun and educational purpose and in search for some tasks beyond the classical "Hello, World!"-program. I've already come up with these ideas: Print out the program's input Calculator Generate Prime numbers, Fibonacci series What other interesting programming problems do you have for me to test? It would be good if they required the language to solve a broad spectrum of task, take prime numbers for example: You need variables, increment them, divide them, perform actions under certain conditions, etc.

  • MySQL Query to find consecutive available times of variable lenth

    - by Armaconn
    I have an events table that has user_id, date ('2013-10-01'), time ('04:15:00'), and status_id; What I am looking to find is a solution similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2665574/find-consecutive-rows-calculate-duration but I need I need two additional components: 1) Take date into consideration, so 10/1/2013 at 11:00 PM - 10/2/2013 at 3:00AM. Feel free to just put in a fake date range (like '2013-10-01' to '2013-10-31') 2) Limit output to only include when there are 4+ consecutive times (each event is 15 minutes and I want it to display minimum blocks of an hour, but would also like to be able to switch this restriction to 1.5 hours or some other duration if possible). SUMMARY - Looking for a query that provides the start and end times for a set of events that have the same user_id, status_id, and are in a continuous series based on date and time. For which I can restrict results based on date range and minimum series duration. So the output should have: user_id, date_start, time_start, date_end, time_end, status_id, duration CREATE TABLE `events` ( `event_id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment COMMENT 'ID', `user_id` int(11) NOT NULL, `date` date NOT NULL, `time` time NOT NULL, `status_id` int(11) default NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`event_id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 AUTO_INCREMENT=1568 ; INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(1, 101, '2013-08-14', '23:00:00', 2); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(2, 101, '2013-08-14', '23:15:00', 2); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(3, 101, '2013-08-14', '23:30:00', 2); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(4, 101, '2013-08-14', '23:45:00', 2); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(5, 101, '2013-08-15', '00:00:00', 2); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(6, 101, '2013-08-15', '00:15:00', 1); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(7, 500, '2013-08-14', '23:45:00', 1); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(8, 500, '2013-08-15', '00:00:00', 1); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(9, 500, '2013-08-15', '00:15:00', 2); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(10, 500, '2013-08-15', '00:30:00', 2); INSERT INTO `events` VALUES(11, 500, '2013-08-15', '00:45:00', 1); Desired output row |user_id | date_start | time_start | date_end | time_end | status_id | duration 1 |101 |'2013-08-14'| '23:00:00' |'2013-08-15'|'00:15:00'| 2 | 5 2 |101 |'2013-08-15'| '00:00:15' |'2013-08-15'|'00:30:00'| 1 | 1 3 |500 |'2013-08-14'| '00:23:45' |'2013-08-15'|'00:15:00'| 1 | 2 4 |500 |'2013-08-15'| '00:00:15' |'2013-08-15'|'00:45:00'| 2 | 2 5 |500 |'2013-08-15'| '00:00:45' |'2013-08-15'|'01:00:00'| 2 | 1 *except that rows 2 and 5 wouldn't appear if duration had to be greater than 30 minutes Thanks for any help that you can provide! • Console output spits out Chinese(?) characters

    - by a_person
This is a real shot in the dark, however maybe someone had a similar issue. Some console apps are being invoked by either SQL Server 2008, or Autosys (job schedule) under Windows Server 2008; output results of execution are being saved into .txt files. Every so often, with no definite pattern as far as I can tell saved output is displayed as a series of what I presume are Chinese characters. Have anyone encountered phenomenon above?
