  Hi..guys I am trying to insert date and time into mysql datetime field. When a user select a date and time, it will generate two POST variables. I have searched internet but still not sure how to do it. My code. //date value is 05/25/2010 //time value is 10:00 $date=$_POST['date']; $time=$_POST['time']; $datetime=$date.$time If I insert $datetime into mysql, the date appears to be 0000-00-00:00:00:00 I appreciate it if anyone could help me about this.   I want to get a linegraph in R which has Time along x and temperature along y. Originally I had the data in dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm format, with a time point every 30 minutes. https://www.dropbox.com/s/q35y1rfila0va1h/Data_logger_S65a_Ania.csv Since I couldn't find a way of reading this into R, I formatted the data to make it into dd/mm/yyyy and added a column 'time' with 1-48 for all the time points for each day https://www.dropbox.com/s/65ogxzyvuzteqxv/temp.csv This is what I have so far: temp<-read.csv("temp.csv",as.is=T) temp$date<-as.Date(temp$date, format="%d/%m/%Y") #inputting date in correct format plot(temperature ~ date, temp, type="n") #drawing a blank plot with axes, but without data lines(temp$date, temp$temperature,type="o") #type o is a line overlaid on top of points. This stacks the points up vertically, which is not what I want, and stacks all the time points (1-48) for each day all together on the same date. Any advice would be much appreciated on how to get this horizontal, and ordered by time as well as date.

  Hi I have created a Google Spreadsheet form in which for one of the fields I get the time (hh:mm:ss) in 24-hour format. I am using Google Apps Scripts to read values from this spreadsheet and put it into another file. But the other file gets the entire date (don't know from where) and shows a date from 1899. Also the time is shown in PDT (not my time zone). Even the time it prints is not correct How do I read the column value as a string and put it in the other file OR get just the time from the column value (and the correct time) I am using a simple row[0][3] to get the values from an array after doing range.getValues() Thanks.

  Okay so have a database that uses the time functions for a list of events and then displays the data as: echo "<b>Time Frame:"; echo "$time_start"; echo "&nbsp;-&nbsp;"; echo "$time_end"; Although that displays the time as 11:00:00 if i want the time to be 11:00 am. Is there anyway to make this time display as a standard "11:00"? and also if in the mysql datababse enter it as military time (ex. 13:00) to make it display 1:00pm? I have tried many things. While the 32-bit installer runs fine on win64, it has the potential to create support headaches and we would like to prevent this from happening. I want to prevent the 32-bit MSI installer from running on 64-bit Windows machines. • Will running aspnet_regiis.exe -ir create any problems?

  Hi there. I've asked a question about changing the version of .Net sites in the IIS. If it affects classic asp sites etc (See Does asp.net setting affect classic asp (IIS 6 settings)) And that seems fine. So my follow-up question is, will running this command get me fired? What it does is changing the default value (and all existing?) of the .net version to 2.0. This wont affect any of the .net sites since they're allready versioned to 2.0. The classic asp pages needs to get its app pools updated so its functionoal with 2.0 but may I run into any other troubles? I've tried doing this on a test environment and no sites whet down during the installation period (from the command) but I did not have any classic asp sites or any .net sites running though (which I should test, come to think about it) but may something else break? Is this command doing anything else? We have some very large sites running and we cannot have downtime periods so I need to be 100% sure that this command is safe. Since all sites go down everytime we change a new sites .net version number we need to get this fix live asap. Any good ideas?

• Trouble Running Leaks Instrument

  I'm having trouble running the Leaks Instrument since installing the 3.0 SDK. An NDA disclaimer here I don't think this is a 3.0 SDK issue, just a configuration problem. So I'm looking for advice on configuring the tools in question not the 3.0 SDK per se. Here’s the breakdown of the behavior I am seeing. My Application is compiled to OS version 2.2. I can run it out of XCode in debug mode on the Simulator and Device running 2.2, 2.2.1, 3.0. If I start it with Performance Tools - Leaks, I get an error message from the OS, “The application xxxx quit unexpectedly”, “Ignore, Report, Relaunch.” If I click “Ignore” one of two things will happen, either Leaks tells me it couldn’t attach, or Leaks stop responding to input and I have to Force Quit. Interesting thing is the Simulator starts in 3.0 OS. If I start Instruments Manually and attach to a running 2.2 Simulator it shows the same behavior. If I attach Leaks to an iPhone Device it works. It seems that once I launch Leaks my app won't run in the simulator until I do a new build. Any ideas for getting my Simulator/Leaks/Xcode synced back up? Thanks, Geoff

However, I'd like to have some way to access the running task objects' methods (for example, for monitoring the objects' state). The Java class java.util.Timer does not seem to provide the means to access the running object, it just schedules the object instance extending TimerTask. Are there ways to access the "running" object instanciated within a Timer? Do I have to subclass the Timer class with the appropriate methods to somehow access the instance (this "feels" strange, somehow)? I suppose someone might have done this before ... where can I find examples of this "procedure"? Thank you in advance for your feedback.

• How should a process running outside Internet Explorer talk to JavaScript running inside it?

  This may well be impossible; either way I'm sure people here will know. I'm trying to reduce three "OK" prompts to two. As part of my application, users will download and run an executable I supply; call it privileged.exe. privileged.exe will have a coda that asks for the highest privileges available. That's two OK prompts, one to run privileged.exe and one for UAC. I'd like privileged.exe to then install an ActiveX control, browser plugin or some such. The purpose of this ActiveX control is to allow the JavaScript running inside the browser to talk to the running privileged.exe process, to allow the user to perform certain operations that require high privileges by making choices in the browser. And I'd ideally like this to happen without the user having to restart their browser or explicitly OK the installation of the ActiveX control. Is that possible? Can you install an ActiveX control from outside the browser in such a way that it becomes immediately available to pages running inside the browser? Or should I give up, and allow the user to be explicitly prompted to install the ActiveX control?

  Hello, This is a question which follows on from my previously answered question here At first I assumed I had a problem with the way I was creating my events due to the handles for OpenEvent returning NULL, I have managed to find the real cause however I am not sure how to go about it. Basically I use Visual Studio to launch both Process A and B at the same time, in the past my OpenEvent handle wouldn't work due to Process A looking for the address of the event a fraction of a second before Process B had time to make it. My solution was to simply allow Process B to run before Process A, fixing the error. The problem I have now is that Process B now reads events from Process A and as you expect it too returns a null handle when trying to open the events from Process A. I am creating the events in WM_CREATE message of both processes, furthermore I also create a thread at the same time to open/read/act upon the events. It seems if I run them at the same time they don't get chance to see each other, alternatively if I run one before the other one of them misses out and can't open a Handle. Can anyone suggest a solution? Thanks.

  I need to know the total number of threads that my application has spawned via OpenMP. Unfortunately, the omp_get_num_threads() function does not work here since it only yields the number of threads in the current team. However, my code runs recursively (divide and conquer, basically) and I want to spawn new threads as long as there are still idle processors, but no more. Is there a way to get around the limitations of omp_get_num_threads and get the total number of running threads? If more detail is required, consider the following pseudo-code that models my workflow quite closely: function divide_and_conquer(Job job, int total_num_threads): if job.is_leaf(): # Recurrence base case. job.process() return left, right = job.divide() current_num_threads = omp_get_num_threads() if current_num_threads < total_num_threads: # (1) #pragma omp parallel num_threads(2) #pragma omp section divide_and_conquer(left, total_num_threads) #pragma omp section divide_and_conquer(right, total_num_threads) else: divide_and_conquer(left, total_num_threads) divide_and_conquer(right, total_num_threads) job = merge(left, right) If I call this code with a total_num_threads value of 4, the conditional annotated with (1) will always evaluate to true (because each thread team will contain at most two threads) and thus the code will always spawn two new threads, no matter how many threads are already running at a higher level. I am searching for a platform-independent way of determining the total number of threads that are currently running in my application.

• Modifying resource contents of a running executable

  All, I store my application settings in a resource. When my program first loads, I read the specified resource using WinAPI. I then parse the retrieved byte data. This works flawlessly for me. Now let's say that a user alters a setting in my application. He/she checks a checkbox control. I would like to save the updated setting to my resource. However, it seems that my call to UpdateResource will not work while my application is running. I can't modify my resource data even though it is the same size. First, is it possible to modify a running image's resource data? Second, if that is not possible, what alternatives do I have for storing settings internally within my application? NOTE: I must have the settings within my running executable. They cannot be on the harddrive or in the registry. Please don't even suggest that as an option.

I currently plan on using Server 2008 with Hyper-V for the virtualization. Has anyone out there tried virtualizing IPCop? Is there anything that I should be aware of? In particular, IPCop has somewhat limited hardware support for NICs - what hardware will the VM see for the network card?

When I type "startx", it goes through the motions of giving me a bunch of text, followed by: "Fatal server error: no screens found" What gives? This is a fairly new laptop I guess, but why is this happening? How can I solve this?

• Running Best Practice Analyzer on Windows 2012 yields error "Result file has not yet been generated"

  Whenever I run the Best Practice Analyzer on a Windows 2012 server with IIS installed, I receive the error: "There has been a Best Practice Analyzer error for Model Id 'Microsoft/Windows/WebServer'. The Result file has not yet been generated. Please perform the scan first and try again." I'm doing this from the "Local Server" section of the Server Manager. I'm logged in as with a domain credential that has administrative rights on the server. I don't know how to generate the result file or where it would be located. I have 4 servers, all with IIS and this is happening on all of them. The servers are practically brand new so there isn't anything really exceptional about their setup. Any suggestions on how to generate the result file? Thanks in advance.

• Configuring Jenkins for running with BitBucket

  I'm trying to setup Jenkins on my mac mini in order to pull my iOS project source code from BitBucket and build it automatically. I've already gone through the major well know problems generating the ssh keys,uploading them in BitBucket,performing an ssh connection by console for adding the host to the well know list (you can find all my adventure here and here). Now,there are 3 user in my system: A,B and Shared. When I installed Jenkins it automatically placed itself in Shared, but I generated the ssh keys with the user A.   I just installed Windows 7 (32 bit) on a Medion MD96500 (Intel 2200BG Wireless Card) and then installed the Windows Vista (32 bit) driver. Now, in the "device driver window", the Wireless Card is listed as working/active. If I want to set up a wireless connection, however, I always get the error message "No connections available". Pushing the hardware-switch (or however that thing is called, right next to the keyboard) does not seem to have any effect.

Simple Usage :: ROBOCOPY source destination /MIR source :: Source Directory (drive:\path or \\server\share\path). destination :: Destination Dir (drive:\path or \\server\share\path). /MIR :: Mirror a complete directory tree. • Can't clone gitosis-admin.git local from my snow leopard server running gitosis

  I've installed gitosis as described here: http://gist.github.com/264304 One of the things that I had to adjust was to give my git user permissions to use ssh (which I did trough server admin - access - ssh and added the 'git' user). When I ssh from my local machine (mac osx) as the git user, I get this response: PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 bash: gitosis-serve: command not found Connection to 10.0.0.108 closed. Which I think is normal, because in Pro GIT the author says you should get something like this if you try ssh'ing to the server using your git user: PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 fatal: unrecognized command 'gitosis-serve schacon@quaternion' Connection to gitserver closed. So far so good, I think? Now when I try to clone my gitosis-admin.git repository using this command: $git clone [email protected]:gitosis-admin.git I get this: Initialized empty Git repository in /Users/joggink/gitosis-admin/.git/ bash: gitosis-serve: command not found fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly So after doing some searching, I found an answer here on serverfault claiming I should use ssh:// as protocol for my git clone (which I thought is the default git protocol?) However, when I try: $git clone ssh://[email protected]:gitosis-admin.git This is the response: The authenticity of host ' (::1)' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is 80:4d:77:c7:78:cb:c9:42:e3:82:06:7c:fe:c0:08:ce. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes Warning: Permanently added '' (RSA) to the list of known hosts. Password: Password: Password: Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly When I type in my own password (because my git user has no password), I get following error: The authenticity of host ' (::1)' can't be established. • Eject disk on Mac Pro running VMWare ESXi

  I'm almost embarrassed to ask this, but I'm stuck. I installed VMWare ESXi on a Mac Pro. It's working great! The problem is that you press F12 to eject the disk, and F12 is what you use to shutdown ESX. I can power down, open the case, pull out the CD drive and use a paper clip to force the drawer open, but that's kind of a pain. Any other way to do this?
