  Hello everyone I used dlink-di604 enthernet board as router to share web access. My ISP provides the service base on Ethernet rathern than base on Ethernet pppoe mode. It is manually setup ipv4, subnet mask , DNS, Gateway etc Log in using web user name&password. I use http://192.168.0.2 try to access dlink di604 setup inferface, but failed I call command ipconfig /all Dos shell displayed: Ethernet adapter Local Connection: Physical Address: 00-3c-56-79-19-49 IPv4 address:10.7.8.225 subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 default gate way: 10.7.8.1 DNS servers 10.10.10.10 What is the correct way to access dlink 604 setup interface and set to share web access? • Received memory warning on setimage

  This problem has completely stumped me. This is for iOS 5.0 with Xcode 4.2 What's going on is that in my app I let user select images from their photo album and I save those images to apps document directory. Pretty straight forward. What I do then is that in one of the viewController.m files I create multiple UIImageViews and I then set the image for the image view from one of the picture that user selected from apps dir. The problem is that after a certain number of UIImage sets I receive a "Received memory warning". It usually happens when there are 10 pictures. If lets say user selected 11 pictures then the app crashes with Error (GBC). NOTE: each of these images are at least 2.5 MB a piece. After hours of testing I finally narrowed down the problem to this line of code [button1AImgVw setImage:image]; If I comment out that code. All compiles fine and no memory errors happen. But if I don't comment out that code I receive memory errors and eventually a crash. Also note it does process the whole CreateViews IBAction but still crashes at the end. I cannot do release or dealloc since I am running this on iOS 5.0 with Xcode 4.2 Here is the code that I used. • Outlook Replies with Inline Comments

  I have a user who uses Word as his e-mail editor. Often when replying to an e-mail, he'll insert his comments into the body of the original e-mail. Since he is using Word as the editor, these show as [User Name] Comment Text in a contrasting color. However, some users see the comments in their Outlook, and others do not. I've tried Selecting/DeSelecting Word as the e-mail editor on the recipients, and it does not seem to make a difference. We are using Exchange 2007 with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 clients along with a few Entourage Clients. There does not seem to be a pattern related to which client is used, but Entourage seems to be more likely to have the problem. TIA, Bill

• Lotus notes 8.5 quota

  we're using lotus notes 8.5 and I have a user who was over his quota as he had sent 6 email with attachement over 800 MB (no comment...) I deleted these oversized email and empty the trash but domino keep sending email warning about quota. I checked in the all documents view and they are no longer there, I re-did an empty the trash. I saw a post on the internet saying to compact his database, when I go under file, application, properties and click on the info tab, I see that he use 35.7% of the 3 GB database. when I click on "compact" I see a message saying the compact of the database is beeing process... the message disapear after about 1 minutes the message disapear but nothing else seem to happen and when I look back later on the space problem has not changed. any advice would be appreciated.

  Hello , I am trying to unzip a file with the size of 2GB I am getting the following error : unzip CLTE_C_08.zip Archive: CLTE_C_08.zip End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of CLTE_C_08.zip or CLTE_C_08.zip.zip, and cannot find CLTE_C_08.zip.ZIP, period. After some googling, some people say that this error is because the file is too big, others say because file is corrupt, others say that it could be a not unix archive. So my question , how to find out if file is valid archive file on my Centos and what is the command/trick to uncompress big files ( if any ) Thanks in advance :)

• Server drives: 2.5" SCSI less reliable than 3.5" ?

  Just had an HP 2.5" SAS 10k drive fail on a RAID5 array after about 2.5 years. It made me wonder if this was a fluke or an indication that 2.5" drives are less reliable than 3.5" SAS drives. I've had many 3.5" SAS drives running for many years without any issues (knock on wood). I would think that smaller drives would generate less heat and therefore be more reliable, but couldn't find any evidence of this. I realize all drives will eventually fail and that it's a crap shoot with any particular model, but was hoping someone could point out some related studies or comment on the SCSI drive sizes they've found to be most reliable in servers. • Unable to get to remote samba share

  I have a remote VPS that I would like to setup samba on and only allow my IP access to it. I currently have in my smb.conf: [global] netbios name = apollo security = user encrypt passwords = true socket options = TCP_NODELAY printing = bsd log level = 3 log file = /var/log/samba/log/%m debug timestamp = yes max log size = 100 [hosting] path = /hosting/ comment = Hosting Folder browseable = yes read only = yes guest account = yes valid users = nick I have the ports (137,138,139,445) open in iptables (they're open to everyone right now while I debug) and I see nothing in the syslog about iptables blocking my requests. When I try to open a file browser to my address \\ipaddress, it hangs for a good thirty seconds, and then opens a log in box. I enter my user name and password for the server, hit okay. It then opens the same box, I enter my credentials again and hit enter. Windows then tells me it could not connect. My user account is added to Samba already. Anybody have any suggestions what I can do to get this working?

  Every night except one this week my laptop froze over night. I tried to check the event viewer, but there's no real help there. Tonight I'll do a memtest to check the RAM. And this shouldn't be a temperature issue since I can play game without any problem (Diablo 3, League of legend) Is there any diagnosys tool I could use. Maybe something that would write time down every minute so I know the precise time when it freeze? I have win7 and 8gb of RAM I installed myself Answer to comment:Asus N71JQ Unknown time, but it seems differents if I look at the last entry in the logs I have no information to tell you, that's why I ask for tool and not the solution. Lorsque je sors je prends donc un ip du pool par exemple 200.0.0.10. Comment ça fonctionne sachant que ma nouvelle ip (200.0.0.10) ne se trouve pas sur le meme réseau que mon interface de destination (10.0.0.2)? English: I have 2 routers A and B, interconnected with a serial connection, with the ip's 10.0.0.1/30 for A and 10.0.0.2/30 for B. On router A NAT was activated with the pool 200.0.0.1 - 200.0.0.15/28. When connection to this router, I get an ip from the pool, for example 200.0.0.10. Knowing my new ip is 200.0.0.10, which is not on the same network as my destination interface (10.0.0.2), how can this work?

• Postfix not delivering mails

  I have problems with a recently configured postfix MTA. When postfix starts the following warning appears: "postfix/qmgr[5078]: warning: connect to transport private/filter: No such file or directory" I have amavis-new as a content-filter, but even if I comment-out the relevant line, the warning appears. As a result (I think), of the above, I get errors like below, for every virtual domain that I have: "postfix/error[5080]: 254851834107: to=, relay=none, delay=13082, delays=13082/0.01/0/0.01, dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred (mail transport unavailable)" The good news for me, is that somehow I managed to fix that (don't ask me how!!!!) The problem is that now I have 50 or so mails, that were affected by the aforementioned problem, in the mail-queue... If I "postqueue -f " I get the same style of error as before (mail transport unavailable)...however new mails are delivered to their final destination properly... Any suggestions? Kind regards. P.S. Local mail delivery from/to Unix and virtual users, was OK write from the beginning!

• Change Block Tracking settings not retained for a VM on VMWare 5.5

  I'm trying to enable Change Block Tracking as per this VMWare KB article but the setting ctkEnabled is not being retained in the advanced options or being added to the vmx file. The setting scsi0:0.ctkEnabled is being retained and I see a file vmname-ctk.vmdk in the datastore. I've verified that the vm doesn't have any snapshots but don't see any other suggestions in the KB (or google, of course.) Edit: The last comment on this community post. It's a slightly different circumstance, but suggests that there is an known bug editing these settings in the web-gui.

• How can I make my browser(s) finish AJAX requests instead of stopping them when I switch to another page?

  I usually need to deal with things on a page right before switching to yet another page, this ranges from "liking / upvoting a comment or post" up to "an important action" and doesn't always come with feedback on whether the action actually proceeded. This is a huge problem! I assume the action to proceed once I start the particular AJAX request, but because I switch to another page it didn't actually happen because the AJAX request got aborted. This has left me several times with coming back to the page and seeing my action didn't take place at all; to give you an idea how bad this is, this even happened once when commenting on Super User! Is there a way to tell my browser to not drop these AJAX connections but simply let them finish?

• Ubuntu 12.10 sources.list empty after install

  I recently installed the Ubuntu 12.10 server version from a USB stick. The step "Install additional software" or whatever keeps failing, so i though screw it and continued. Everything else worked like a charm. I thought. Turns out, the only two entries in my sources.list are the install CD. This means that i have no way of getting a.. well.. anything installed. Can someone give me a short list of repositories that i need so i can put them in the file? And on a similar note: What is the comment character for the sources list? #?

• SATA Devices not showing up when in UEFI mode

  I'm trying to install Windows and the bios should be set to UEFI mode. The problem is that all SATA devices aren't showing up (shows as if there aren't any) so I can't boot from the installation CD (it's just not there). The weird thing is that when set to LEGACY mode they all show up.. SATA mode is set to AHCI and I'm on Lenovo Y510P. I have a Linux OS installed that is accessible only when BIOS is in LEGACY mode (otherwise the hard drive it's on is not available) I also tried reseting the BIOS settings which didn't help.. In my case this looks (at the first glance) pretty simple: The application has a clean rpm-install and did install almost all files into a sub-directory of /opt. My idea is: Do a find of all binaries Check their library-dependencies Record the results into a list Do a rsync of that list into the chroot-target-directory before startup of the application Now I wonder - ist there any script around that already does such a job (perl/bash/python)? So far I found only specialized solutions for single applications (like sftp-chroot). Update I see three close-votes for the reason "off topic". I want to remote desktop connection to my friend over the internet, but I don't have premission for port forwarding on the router, and my friend also can't configure his router. • 64-bit Hardware Virtualization on VirtualBox

  I am trying to set up a SQL Server practice lab using VirtualBox and a trial copy of Windows Server 2K8 R2 in ISO format. I received an error message that states my processor does not support 64-bit hardware virtualization. Although I "Enabled" Intel ardware virtualization in the BIOS that still doesn't work. According to the Intel website, the processor does support VT-x, however the accelerated tab in VirtualBox is greyed out and no references to VT-x are mentioned in the settings options available to me. Any ideas on how I can get around this? I checked around ServerFault and couldn't find anything but if I missed an applicable post a link is great too. • Vim Misbehaving

  I'm not sure what changed, but lately Vim has been driving me nuts. Whenever I try to do a column mode insert, vim takes my current character and adds to the last character I inserted. For example, the first time I do a block comment by inserting # on multiple lines, it works fine. The next time, however, I end up with ## inserted on every line, and the problem just compounds from there. To do this, I'm hitting Ctrl-V, down or up arrow, Shift-I, #, and then Esc. This worked for months, but now it seems to be pasting extra stuff in. I've tried disabling all .vimrc files, but the behavior remains the same. Any ideas?

• How to show images in structure view in word 2010?

  I use a lot word with in structure view. In that view it is not possible to see images (while it was possible in 2007). When I paste an image in structure view it automatically changes the view to Print Preview. Is this a limitation introduced in 2010? If not how to get rid of it? I tried to read all the options, but I didn't find a matching checkbox. NOTE FOR BOUNTY: I started a bounty because this problem is really annoying for me.   TrueCrypt - "Warning! Password locked: Fixed disk0" error message on boot. When i start my laptop (Acer TravelMate 2410). after the starting memory check, the screen goes full black, and a message appears for about 3 seconds: Warning! Password locked: Fixed disk0 and after that, disappears, and next message comes out: Operating System Not Found and all stops here. Windows Xp was installed on it, before this came. TrueCrypt cd (witch was made during the process of full encryption) is not working, not in restoring MBR, no even in decrypting my drive - completely useless. Note: I detected some short of boot sector errors (i dont know the amount) on my drive before this happened. Please, i would greatfully thank every comment, or suggestion, because my computer is unusable now. The HDD is a Samsung HDD, 160Gb. Other preferences: Acer TravelMate 2410 Notebook, 2 Gb RAM, 1500 Mhz Intel Celeron M processor. Regards

• How much data does windows write on boot

  This question was inspired by Bob's comment to my answer here. On boot, windows writes files to the hard drive (I imagine this to be the case, as it has a way of detecting if the boot was previously interrupted by a hard power-off, and I am sure many other things). But assuming that there is a "smooth" boot, where there are no error, etc, and no logon scripts that run, and things like that, about how much (a few KB, a few MB, a few GB) data gets written to the drive? For simplicity's sake, assume that: hibernation is turned off windows 7 pagefile is turned off (does this matter right at boot, or only later?) How could one go about measuring this? Are there resources that have this information?
