  • css, unordered list not displaying icon in right place...

    - by Ronedog
    I'm really frustrated with this one. A few weeks ago I got it working in both firefox and ie just fine. Went back today to do some testing and found a problem with the display in firefox and I've been searching the code but can't find anything. I could use a few tips from anyone willing, I'm sure I'm looking at the wrong things. I upgraded my firefox version but I imagine my code is broke, not firefox. I'm assuming the problem is somewhere in my css file, but I'm not sure. Here's what I've confirmed so far. There don't seem to be conflicts in other css files with < ul 's or < li 's that may be overriding settings. The other confirmation is that This works fine in Internet Explorer...therefore I must be an idiot, because its usually been the other way around (working in FF, but failing in IE). Here's How it looks in IE (Notice the position of the folder icon right next to the text): Here's how it looks in FF (Notice the folder icon is not being pushed down with its corresponding text). Here's the Unordered List: <ul id="nav"> <li><a>Utah</a></li> <ul> <li><a>ParkCity</a> <ul> <li><a>Com1</a></li> <ul> <li class="folder_closed"><a>Timber</a></li> <div>SQUARE CONTAINER IS INSIDE THIS DIV</div> </ul> </ul> </ul> </ul> Here's the CSS that is used for the whole menu: /* MENU NAVIGATION (<UL><LI> LISTS ****************************************/ ul#nav{ /* This handles the main root <ul> */ margin-left:0; margin-right:0; padding-left:0px; text-indent:15px; } ul#nav div{ overflow: hidden; } #nav li>a:hover { cursor: pointer; } #nav li > ul{ /* This will hide any element with an id of "nav" and an "li" that has a direct child that is a "ul" */ display:none; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px; padding-left:15px; padding-right:0px; text-indent:15px; } #nav li { list-style-type:none; list-style-image: none; } #nav > li{ vertical-align: top; left:0px; text-align:left; clear: both; margin:0px; margin-right:0px; padding-right:0px; } .menu_parent{ background-image: url(../images/maximize.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 0px 1px; position:relative; } .menu_parent_minimized{ background-image: url(../images/minimize.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 0px 1px; position:relative; } .folder_closed{ position:relative; background-image: url(../images/folder_closed12x14.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 0px -2px; } .folder_open{ position:relative; background-image: url(../images/folder_open12x14.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 0px -2px; } </ul>

  • OpenGL font rendering

    - by DEElekgolo
    I am trying to make an openGL text rendering class using FreeType. I was originally following this code but it doesn't seem to work out for me. I get nothing reguardless of what parameters I put for Draw(). class Font { public: Font() { if (FT_Init_FreeType(&ftLibrary)) { printf("Could not initialize FreeType library\n"); return; } glGenBuffers(1,&iVerts); } bool Load(std::string sFont, unsigned int Size = 12.0f) { if (FT_New_Face(ftLibrary,sFont.c_str(),0,&ftFace)) { printf("Could not open font: %s\n",sFont.c_str()); return true; } iSize = Size; FT_Set_Pixel_Sizes(ftFace,0,(int)iSize); FT_GlyphSlot gGlyph = ftFace->glyph; //Generating the texture atlas. //Rather than some amazing rectangular packing method, I'm just going //to have one long strip of letters with the height being that of the font size. int width = 0; int height = 0; for (int i = 32; i < 128; i++) { if (FT_Load_Char(ftFace,i,FT_LOAD_RENDER)) { printf("Error rendering letter %c for font %s.\n",i,sFont.c_str()); } width += gGlyph->bitmap.width; height += std::max(height,gGlyph->bitmap.rows); } //Generate the openGL texture glActiveTexture(GL_TEXTURE0); //if I texture exists then delete it. iTexture ? glDeleteBuffers(1,&iTexture):0; glGenTextures(1,&iTexture); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D,iTexture); glPixelStorei(GL_UNPACK_ALIGNMENT,1); glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D,0,GL_ALPHA,width,height,0,GL_ALPHA,GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE,0); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_WRAP_S, GL_CLAMP_TO_EDGE); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_WRAP_T, GL_CLAMP_TO_EDGE); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, GL_LINEAR); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, GL_LINEAR); //load the glyphs and set the glyph data int x = 0; for (int i = 32; i < 128; i++) { if (FT_Load_Char(ftFace,i,FT_LOAD_RENDER)) { //if it cant load the character continue; } //load the glyph map into the texture glTexSubImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D,0,x,0, gGlyph->bitmap.width, gGlyph->bitmap.rows, GL_ALPHA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, gGlyph->bitmap.buffer); //move the "pen" down the strip x += gGlyph->bitmap.width; chars[i].ax = (float)(gGlyph->advance.x >> 6); chars[i].ay = (float)(gGlyph->advance.y >> 6); chars[i].bw = (float)gGlyph->bitmap.width; chars[i].bh = (float)gGlyph->bitmap.rows; chars[i].bl = (float)gGlyph->bitmap_left; chars[i].bt = (float)gGlyph->bitmap_top; chars[i].tx = (float)x/width; } printf("Loaded font: %s\n",sFont.c_str()); return true; } void Draw(std::string sString,Vector2f vPos = Vector2f(0,0),Vector2f vScale = Vector2f(1,1)) { struct pPoint { pPoint() { x = y = s = t = 0; } pPoint(float a,float b,float c,float d) { x = a; y = b; s = c; t = d; } float x,y; float s,t; }; pPoint* cCoordinates = new pPoint[6*sString.length()]; int n = 0; for (const char *p = sString.c_str(); *p; p++) { float x2 = vPos.x() + chars[*p].bl * vScale.x(); float y2 = -vPos.y() - chars[*p].bt * vScale.y(); float w = chars[*p].bw * vScale.x(); float h = chars[*p].bh * vScale.y(); float x = vPos.x() + chars[*p].ax * vScale.x(); float y = vPos.y() + chars[*p].ay * vScale.y(); //skip characters with no pixels //still advances though if (!w || !h) { continue; } //triangle one cCoordinates[n++] = pPoint( x2 , -y2 , chars[*p].tx , 0); cCoordinates[n++] = pPoint( x2+w , -y2 , chars[*p].tx + chars[*p].bw / w , 0); cCoordinates[n++] = pPoint( x2 , -y2-h , chars[*p].tx , chars[*p].bh / h); cCoordinates[n++] = pPoint( x2+w , -y2 , chars[*p].tx + chars[*p].bw / w , 0); cCoordinates[n++] = pPoint( x2 , -y2-h , chars[*p].tx , chars[*p].bh / h); cCoordinates[n++] = pPoint( x2+w , -y2-h , chars[*p].tx + chars[*p].bw / w , chars[*p].bh / h); } glBindBuffer(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER,iVerts); glBindBuffer(GL_TEXTURE_2D,iTexture); //Vertices glEnableClientState(GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); glVertexPointer(2,GL_FLOAT,sizeof(pPoint),&cCoordinates[0].x); //TexCoord 0 glClientActiveTexture(GL_TEXTURE0); glEnableClientState(GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); glTexCoordPointer(2,GL_FLOAT,sizeof(pPoint),&cCoordinates[0].s); glCullFace(GL_NONE); glBufferData(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER,6*sString.length(),cCoordinates,GL_DYNAMIC_DRAW); glDrawArrays(GL_TRIANGLES,0,n); glCullFace(GL_BACK); glBindBuffer(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER,0); glBindBuffer(GL_TEXTURE_2D,0); glDisableClientState(GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); glDisableClientState(GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); } ~Font() { glDeleteBuffers(1,&iVerts); glDeleteBuffers(1,&iTexture); } private: unsigned int iSize; //openGL texture atlas unsigned int iTexture; //openGL geometry buffer; unsigned int iVerts; FT_Library ftLibrary; FT_Face ftFace; struct Character { float ax,ay;//Advance float bw,bh;//bitmap size float bl,bt;//bitmap left and top float tx; } chars[128]; };

  • Hibernate: Found: float, expected: double precision

    - by Frederic Morin
    I have a problem with the mapping of Oracle Float double precision datatype to Java Double datatype. The hibernate schema validator seems to fail when the Java Double datatype is used. org.hibernate.HibernateException: Wrong column type in DB.TABLE for column amount. Found: float, expected: double precision The only way to avoid this is to disable schema validation and hope the schema is in sync with the app about to run. I must fix this before it goes out to production. App's evironment: - Grails 1.2.1 - Hibernate-core 3.3.1.GA - Oracle 10g

  • Getting float values out of PostgreSQL

    - by skymander
    I am having trouble retrieving float/real values out of PostgreSQL. For example, I would like to store: 123456789123456, the retrieve that exact same number with a select statement. table tbl (num real) insert into tbl(num) values('123456789123456'); As it is now, if I "select num from tbl" the result is "1.23457e+14" If I run "select CAST(num AS numeric) as num from tbl" the result is 123457000000000 If I run "select CAST(num AS float) as num from tbl" the result is 123456788103168 (where did this number come from) How on earth can I select the value and get "123456789123456" as the result? Thanks so much in advance

  • casting void* to float* creates only zeros

    - by Paperflyer
    I am reading an audio file using CoreAudio (Extended Audio File Read Services). The audio data gets converted to 4-byte float and handed to me as a void* buffer. It can be played with Audio Queue Services, so its content is correct. Next, I want to draw a waveform and thus need access to the actual samples. So, I cast void* audioData to float*: Float32 *floatData = (Float32 *)audioData; When accessing this data however, I only get 0.0 regardless of the index. Float32 value = floatData[index]; // Is always zero for any index Am I doing something wrong with the cast?

  • How to mark empty in a single element in a float array

    - by Vineeth Mohan
    I have a large float (primitive) array and not every element in the array is filled. How can i mark a particular element as EMPTY. I understand this can be achieved by some special symbols but still i would like to know the standard way. Even if i am using some special symbol , how will i handle a situation where the actual data item is the value of special symbol. In short my question is how to implement the NULL feature in a primitive type array in java. PS - The reason why i am not using Float object is to achieve a high memory and speed performance. Thanks Vineeth

  • Why is str_replace not replacing this string?

    - by Niall
    I have the following PHP code which should load the data from a CSS file into a variable, search for the old body background colour, replace it with the colour from a submitted form, resave the CSS file and finally update the colour in the database. The problem is, str_replace does not appear to be replacing anything. Here is my PHP code (stored in "processors/save_program_settings.php"): <?php require("../security.php"); $institution_name = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['institution_name']); $staff_role_title = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['staff_role_title']); $program_location = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['program_location']); $background_colour = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['background_colour']); $bar_border_colour = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['bar_border_colour']); $title_colour = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['title_colour']); $url = $global_variables['program_location']; $data_background = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM sents_global_variables WHERE name='background_colour'") or die(mysql_error()); $background_output = mysql_fetch_array($data_background); $css = file_get_contents($url.'/default.css'); $str = "body { background-color: #".$background_output['data']."; }"; $str2 = "body { background-color: #".$background_colour."; }"; $css2 = str_replace($str, $str2, $css); unlink('../default.css'); file_put_contents('../default.css', $css2); mysql_query("UPDATE sents_global_variables SET data='{$institution_name}' WHERE name='institution_name'") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_query("UPDATE sents_global_variables SET data='{$staff_role_title}' WHERE name='role_title'") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_query("UPDATE sents_global_variables SET data='{$program_location}' WHERE name='program_location'") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_query("UPDATE sents_global_variables SET data='{$background_colour}' WHERE name='background_colour'") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_query("UPDATE sents_global_variables SET data='{$bar_border_colour}' WHERE name='bar_border_colour'") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_query("UPDATE sents_global_variables SET data='{$title_colour}' WHERE name='title_colour'") or die(mysql_error()); header('Location: '.$url.'/pages/start.php?message=program_settings_saved'); ?> Here is my CSS (stored in "default.css"): @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ body,td,th { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: #000; } body { background-color: #CCCCFF; } .main_table th { background:#003399; font-size:24px; color:#FFFFFF; } .main_table { background:#FFF; border:#003399 solid 1px; } .subtitle { font-size:20px; } input#login_username, input#login_password { height:30px; width:300px; font-size:24px; } input#login_submit { height:30px; width:150px; font-size:16px; } .timetable_cell_lesson { width:100px; font-size:10px; } .timetable_cell_tutorial_a, .timetable_cell_tutorial_b, .timetable_cell_break, .timetable_cell_lunch { width:100px; background:#999; font-size:10px; } I've run some checks using the following code in the PHP file: echo $css . "<br><br>" . $str . "<br><br>" . $str2 . "<br><br>" . $css2; exit; And it outputs (as you can see it's not changing anything in the CSS): @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ body,td,th { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: #000; } body { background-color: #CCCCFF; } .main_table th { background:#003399; font-size:24px; color:#FFFFFF; } .main_table { background:#FFF; border:#003399 solid 1px; } .subtitle { font-size:20px; } input#login_username, input#login_password { height:30px; width:300px; font-size:24px; } input#login_submit { height:30px; width:150px; font-size:16px; } .timetable_cell_lesson { width:100px; font-size:10px; } .timetable_cell_tutorial_a, .timetable_cell_tutorial_b, .timetable_cell_break, .timetable_cell_lunch { width:100px; background:#999; font-size:10px; } body { background-color: #CCCCFF; } body { background-color: #FF5719; } @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ body,td,th { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: #000; } body { background-color: #CCCCFF; } .main_table th { background:#003399; font-size:24px; color:#FFFFFF; } .main_table { background:#FFF; border:#003399 solid 1px; } .subtitle { font-size:20px; } input#login_username, input#login_password { height:30px; width:300px; font-size:24px; } input#login_submit { height:30px; width:150px; font-size:16px; } .timetable_cell_lesson { width:100px; font-size:10px; } .timetable_cell_tutorial_a, .timetable_cell_tutorial_b, .timetable_cell_break, .timetable_cell_lunch { width:100px; background:#999; font-size:10px; }

  • PHP Include Paths

    - by Keiron Lowe
    Hi, I'm new to PHP and I'm having a problem when trying to link my CSS files using include. Basically I need my files to link back to a certain directory no matter how far down the file is. I have tried using <?php include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/sysprogs/required/header.html'; ?> But header.html contains the links to my css files so the directory it ends up looking for the css files in is http://localhost/SysProgs/software/CSS/style.css instead of where I want it to go to which is http://localhost/SysProgs/required/CSS/style.css I hope that made sense and I hope you can help me

  • Getting SIGILL in float to fixed conversion

    - by foliveira
    I'm receiving a SIGILL after running the following code. I can't really figure what's wrong with it. The target platform is ARM, and I'm trying to port a known library (in which this code is contained) void convertFloatToFixed(float nX, float nY, unsigned int &nFixed) { short sx = (short) (nX * 32); short sy = (short) (nY * 32); unsigned short *ux = (unsigned short*) &sx; unsigned short *uy = (unsigned short*) &sy; nFixed = (*ux << 16) | *uy; } Any help on it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

  • How to manually (bitwise) perform (float)x? (homework)

    - by Silver
    Now, here is the function header of the function I'm supposed to implement: /* * float_from_int - Return bit-level equivalent of expression (float) x * Result is returned as unsigned int, but * it is to be interpreted as the bit-level representation of a * single-precision floating point values. * Legal ops: Any integer/unsigned operations incl. ||, &&. also if, while * Max ops: 30 * Rating: 4 */ unsigned float_from_int(int x) { ... } We aren't allowed to do float operations, or any kind of casting. Now I tried to implement the first algorithm given at this site: http://locklessinc.com/articles/i2f/ Here's my code: unsigned float_from_int(int x) { // grab sign bit int xIsNegative = 0; int absValOfX = x; if(x < 0){ xIsNegative = 1; absValOfX = -x; } // zero case if(x == 0){ return 0; } //int shiftsNeeded = 0; /*while(){ shiftsNeeded++; }*/ unsigned I2F_MAX_BITS = 15; unsigned I2F_MAX_INPUT = ((1 << I2F_MAX_BITS) - 1); unsigned I2F_SHIFT = (24 - I2F_MAX_BITS); unsigned result, i, exponent, fraction; if ((absValOfX & I2F_MAX_INPUT) == 0) result = 0; else { exponent = 126 + I2F_MAX_BITS; fraction = (absValOfX & I2F_MAX_INPUT) << I2F_SHIFT; i = 0; while(i < I2F_MAX_BITS) { if (fraction & 0x800000) break; else { fraction = fraction << 1; exponent = exponent - 1; } i++; } result = (xIsNegative << 31) | exponent << 23 | (fraction & 0x7fffff); } return result; } But it didn't work (see test error below): Test float_from_int(-2147483648[0x80000000]) failed... ...Gives 0[0x0]. Should be -822083584[0xcf000000] 4 4 0 float_times_four I don't know where to go from here. How should I go about parsing the float from this int?

  • From where can i download free themes for my web application?

    - by Nitesh Panchal
    Hello, I am developing a web application and want to allow user to select theme for his/her personalization. I want to know from where can i find free css theme templates? By theme i mean, same css templates and it should have same css class names referenced in css file, because then only i can load the css file and the whole look and feel gets changed in webpage. If the class names in css files are different then it's not easy. Only thing that should change is images and background color etc. But the layout and css classes should remain same. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • controling a float value with javascript

    - by kawtousse
    Hi, to control my input type and verify that its value is pretty a float in my form i deal with it in javascript like that: function verifierNombre () { var champ=document.getElementById("nperformed"); var str = champ.value; if(str.value==' '){champ.focus();} if (isNaN(str)) { alert("Invalid Valid! the field must be a number"); champ.focus(); return false; } return true; } but it still false because it doesn't accept really floats. so when entering a value like '11,2' the alert is declenched. I want to know how can I control float values with javascript. thanks.

  • float addition 2.5 + 2.5 = 4.0? RPN

    - by AJ Clou
    The code below is my subprogram to do reverse polish notation calculations... basically +, -, *, and /. Everything works in the program except when I try to add 2.5 and 2.5 the program gives me 4.0... I think I have an idea why, but I'm not sure how to fix it... Right now I am reading all the numbers and operators in from command line as required by this assignment, then taking that string and using sscanf to get the numbers out of it... I am thinking that somehow the array that contains the three characters '2', '.', and '5', is not being totally converted to a float... instead i think just the '2' is. Could someone please take a look at my code and either confirm or deny this, and possibly tell me how to fix it so that i get the proper answer? Thank you in advance for any help! float fsm (char mystring[]) { int i = -1, j, k = 0, state = 0; float num1, num2, ans; char temp[10]; c_stack top; c_init_stack (&top); while (1) { switch (state) { case 0: i++; if ((mystring[i]) == ' ') { state = 0; } else if ((isdigit (mystring[i])) || (mystring[i] == '.')) { state = 1; } else if ((mystring[i]) == '\0') { state = 3; } else { state = 4; } break; case 1: temp[k] = mystring[i]; k++; i++; if ((isdigit (mystring[i])) || (mystring[i] == '.')) { state = 1; } else { state = 2; } break; case 2: temp[k] = '\0'; sscanf (temp, "%f", &num1); c_push (&top, num1); i--; k = 0; state = 0; break; case 3: ans = c_pop (&top); if (c_is_empty (top)) return ans; else { printf ("There are still items on the stack\n"); exit (0); case 4: num2 = c_pop (&top); num1 = c_pop (&top); if (mystring[i] == '+'){ ans = num1 + num2; return ans; } else if (mystring[i] == '-'){ ans = num1 - num2; return ans; } else if (mystring[i] == '*'){ ans = num1 * num2; return ans; } else if (mystring[i] == '/'){ if (num2){ ans = num1 / num2; return ans; } else{ printf ("Error: cannot divide by 0\n"); exit (0); } } c_push (&top, ans); state = 0; break; } } } } Here is my main program: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include "boolean.h" #include "c_stack.h" #include <string.h> int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { char mystring[100]; int i; sscanf("", "%s", mystring); for (i=1; i<argc; i++){ strcat(mystring, argv[i]); strcat(mystring, " "); } printf("%.2f\n", fsm(mystring)); } and here is the header file with prototypes and the definition for c_stack: #include "boolean.h" #ifndef CSTACK_H #define CSTACK_H typedef struct c_stacknode{ char data; struct c_stacknode *next; } *c_stack; #endif void c_init_stack(c_stack *); boolean c_is_full(void); boolean c_is_empty(c_stack); void c_push(c_stack *,char); char c_pop(c_stack *); void print_c_stack(c_stack); boolean is_open(char); boolean is_brother(char, char); float fsm(char[]);

  • IE8 CSS selector selects, but does not apply the style.

    - by Dan
    This is making me want to kill myself. I have some really simple CSS to style my input objects: input, button { border: 1px solid #c66600; background-color: white; color: #7d212f; font-family: "Eras Light ITC", Tahoma, sans; } But I don't like the ugly border it puts around radio buttons, so I use a selector to kill the border: input[type=radio] { border: none; } You can probably guess what browsers this works in and which ONE it does not work in. What's funny is when I press F12 to launch the excellent developer tools in IE8 it actually tells me that the style of the radio buttons has been overridden to 'none' just like I asked it to do, but the border remains on the radio button objects. I have tried a variety of semantic things, like setting the border width to 0px or the color to something insane like lime green, but it remains the originally assigned color that it got from the first style. And finally, I have tried only styling 'text' objects, in which case no style is applied to anything. Again, the browser claims to fulfill the CSS selection, but it visually does not happen. Thoughts? By the way, this is a DotNetNuke installation with generated code where I can't explicitly set the style of the radio buttons. Thanks, Dan

  • How do you update table row background color in IE using Javascript/CSS ?

    - by giulio
    I have a table that i want to "highlight" during onmouseover/onmouseout. I already know this is required in IE but not in other browsers. I have managed to detect the events triggering and this TR tag effectively works. (Note that the originating class "contentTableRow" doesn't seem to be causing any issues.) class="contentTableRow" onclick="openForm('SomeID');" onmouseover="highlight('someRowID', true);" onmouseout="highlight('someRowID', false);" id="someRowID" All is fine and dandy, the "highlight" function fires and actually sets the appropriate class. It's just that IE won't process the CSS class name change. Here is a snippet of the CSS I am using to make the change. .HighlightOn { cursor:pointer; background-color: #D1DFFF; } .HighlightOff { background-color: #E1EEFE; } I can see that the Class names are getting updated when I debug it, and also check it in Firebug. But it seems that IE doesn't like this usage of classes with a TR tag.. Is it the way I am structuring the class for Tables ? Any advice ?

  • Firefox 3.6 and CSS difference from previous versions of Firefox 3.5 and back?

    - by American Yak
    So, in upgrading to Firefox 3.6, the CSS broke on input boxes. The padding has increased -- it might also be the font-size is somehow behaving different. Wondering if anyone else has seen this problem yet. Can't quite figure it out. HTML CODE: <form> <fieldset> <label for="inputField">Label</label> <input type="text" id="inputField" /> </fieldset> </form> CSS CODE: form fieldset label { display:block; font-size:1.2em; font-weight:bold; padding:12px 9px; } #jumptoBox fieldset input { background: url("../images/input.png") no-repeat scroll left top transparent; font-size: 1.2em; padding: 4px 5px 16px; width: 99px; height: 29px; } (Image dimensions: 109 width x 34 height) So one thing to note, the fix (as outlined below) includes removing the height, or at least setting it to auto, and then compensating for it by using padding (a fix that bothers me on many levels, but we'll set that aside for now). BUT webkit seems to have its own problems with this now, since it wants to center the text vertically (ignoring any evidence of line-height) according to the height of everything. In other words, if you want the text vertically closer to the top, I haven't been able to figure out a way to do that. Ideas?

  • What is usefulness of W3C's Semantic Data Extractor in semantically correct XHTML CSS Development?

    - by metal-gear-solid
    What is the usefulness of W3C's Semantic Data Extractor? http://www.w3.org/2003/12/semantic-extractor.html This tool, geared by an XSLT stylesheet, tries to extract some information from a HTML semantic rich document. It only uses information available through a good usage of the semantics defined in HTML. The aim is to show that providing a semantically rich HTML gives much more value to your code: using a semantically rich HTML code allows a better use of CSS, makes your HTML intelligible to a wider range of user agents (especially search engines bots). As an aside, it can give clues to user agents developers on some hooks that could be interesting to add in their product. After checking validation for CSS and HTML. Should i go for Semantic Data Extractor tool. What it does. and how it can improved our coding.? Is anyone using it? And i check some site randomly with but with most of sites it gives error Using org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser Exception net.sf.saxon.trans.XPathException: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The element type "input" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "`</input>`". org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The element type "input" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "`</input>`".

  • How to give the menus associated with dojo's dijit.ComboBox different css from those of dijit.Menu

    - by sprugman
    When you use a dijit.ComboBox, the type ahead suggestions get implemented as a dijit.Menu. I've got a design which calls for the matched portion of the suggestion rows to be normal, and the unmatched portion to be bold. The structure that dojo creates is like this: <ul class="dijitReset dijitMenu"> <li role="option" class="dijitReset dijitMenuItem"> <span class="dijitComboBoxHighlightMatch">Ch</span>oice One </li> <li role="option" class="dijitReset dijitMenuItem"> <span class="dijitComboBoxHighlightMatch">Ch</span>oice Two </li> </ul> So I can target the matched part, but not the unmatched part. So my css needs to be something like: .dijitMenuItem { font-weight: bold; } .dijitMenuItem .dijitComboBoxHighlightMatch { font-weight: normal; } The problem is, if I do that, all menus will be bolded, and I don't want that. Just doing something like this: <select dojoType="dijit.form.ComboBox" class="foobar">[options]</select> puts the foobar class in the ComboBox, but the menu is an independent node not under that hierarchy. What's the easiest way to add a css class around the popup menu that the ComboBox generates?

  • How can I set the size of the gap between inline elements in CSS?

    - by Val M
    I am creating an MVC 1.0 form to use in multiple views. I have some elements that need to be shown on the same line, and I have done this by setting the display to "display: inline" for the style. I have also added the margin-left setting to the CSS in order to force the gap between the inline elements but this doesn't appear to be being set. My CSS has: fieldset label.inline { display: inline; margin-left: 2em; } The view code is: <fieldset> <legend>Details</legend> <p> <label for="StartTime">Start Time:</label> <%= Html.TextBox("StartTime", Model.StartTime.ToShortTimeString())%> <label for="NextDay" class="inline">Next Day?</label> <%= Html.CheckBox("NextDay") %> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("StartTime", "*")%> </p> </fieldset> Setting the size in the "margin-left" style has no impact on the space between the StartTime control and the NextDay label. How can I create this gap between the elements?
