    I would like to store keys pressed when I listen out for the keyDown on the stage. I can add the listener fine, but I'm not getting the character I want out of the event to store it into a string.     I am very new to nservicebus. I am using version 3.0.1, the last one up to date. And I wonder if my case is a normal limitation of NSB, I am not aware of.   • Performing text processing on flatpage content to include handling of custom tag

    Hi. I'm using flatpages app in my project to manage some html content. That content will include images, so I've made a ContentImage model allowing user to upload images using admin panel. The user should then be able to include those images in content of the flatpages. He can of course do that by manually typing image url into <img> tag, but that's not what I'm looking for. To make including images more convenient, I'm thinking about something like this: User edits an additional, let's say pre_content field of CustomFlatPage model (I'm using custom flatpage model already) instead of defining <img> tags directly, he uses a custom tag, something like [img=...] where ... is name of the ContentImage instance now the hardest part: before CustomFlatPage is saved, pre_content field is checked for all [img=...] occurences and they are processed like this: ContentImage model is searched if there's image instance with given name and if so, [img=...] is replaced with proper <img> tag. flatpage actual content is filled with processed pre_content and then flatpage is saved (pre_content is leaved unchanged, as edited by user) The part that I can't cope with is text processing. Should I use regular expressions? Apparently they can be slow for large strings. And how to organize logic? I assume it's rather algorithmic question, but I'm not familliar with text processing in Python enough, to do it myself. Can somebody give me any clues?

    I have an example function below that reads in a date as a string and returns it as a date object. If it reads a string that it cannot convert to a date, it returns an error. testFunction <- function (date_in) { return(as.Date(date_in)) } testFunction("2010-04-06") # this works fine testFunction("foo") # this returns an error Now, I want to use lapply and apply this function over a list of dates: dates1 = c("2010-04-06", "2010-04-07", "2010-04-08") lapply(dates1, testFunction) # this works fine But if I want to apply the function over a list when one string in the middle of two good dates returns an error, what is the best way to deal with this? dates2 = c("2010-04-06", "foo", "2010-04-08") lapply(dates2, testFunction) I presume that I want a try catch in there, but is there a way to catch the error for the "foo" string whilst asking lapply to continue and read the third date?

  • Firefox and IE - Firefox handling of <span> inside tables (html and css)

    Hello, I am having difficulties getting a span tag to work properly inside a table. It appears as if the entire span tag is being ignored that is defined anywhere in between table tags in firefox, but in IE this shows up correctly. Maybe I am missing something, but I have created a small example css and html file that displays differently in Firefox and IE.     Hi I have developed a java se client that calls some session beans on a glassfish server. I connect to the bean remote interface like this. context = new InitialContext(); em = (ICrudService) context.lookup("java:global/BackITServer/CrudServiceImpl"); This works fine from inside eclipse (gf-client on build path). When I export my project as a runnable jar and call it on the console with java -jar BackItClient.jar I get a NoInitialContextException. MMMM. I would very much appreciate some help.     Has anyone had any experience with using jTemplates to display autocomplete results.   • XamlReader.Parse throws exception on empty String

    In our app, we need to save properties of objects to the same database table regardless of the type of object, in the form of propertyName, propertyValue, propertyType. We decided to use XamlWriter to save all of the given object's properties. We then use XamlReader to load up the XAML that was created, and turn it back into the value for the property. This works fine for the most part, except for empty strings. The XamlWriter will save an empty string as below. <String xmlns="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib" xml:space="preserve" /> The XamlReader sees this string and tries to create a string, but can't find an empty constructor in the String object to use, so it throws a ParserException. The only workaround that I can think of is to not actually save the property if it is an empty string. Then, as I load up the properties, I can check for which ones did not exist, which means they would have been empty strings. Is there some workaround for this, or is there even a better way of doing this?

  • Custom event loop and UIKit controls. What extra magic Apple's event loop does?

    Does anyone know or have good links that explain what iPhone's event loop does under the hood? We are using a custom event loop in our OpenGL-based iPhone game framework. It calls our game rendering system, calls presentRenderbuffer and pumps events using CFRunLoopRunInMode. See the code below for details. It works well when we are not using UIKit controls (as a proof, try Facetap, our first released game). However, when using UIKit controls, everything almost works, but not quite. Specifically, scrolling of UIKit controls doesn't work properly. For example, let's consider following scenario. We show UIImagePickerController on top of our own view. UIImagePickerController covers our custom view We also pause our own rendering, but keep on using the custom event loop. As said, everything works, except scrolling. Picking photos works. Drilling down to photo albums works and transition animations are smooth. When trying to scroll photo album view, the view follows your finger. Problem: when scrolling, scrolling stops immediately after you lift your finger. Normally, it continues smoothly based on the speed of your movement, but not when we are using the custom event loop. It seems that iPhone's event loop is doing some magic related to UIKit scrolling that we haven't implemented ourselves. Now, we can get UIKit controls to work just fine and dandy together with our own system by using Apple's event loop and calling our own rendering via NSTimer callbacks.   • VB.NET handling data between different forms

    Hi, I'm writing a simple application - address book. User enters new addresses and they are added as an entry to a list visible on the main form (frmStart). I use one form to add and edit (AddContForm). Add button on the frmStart works fine, however I experience some problems with the edit button as when I press it and enter new data they are added as new entry however the previous entry is still there. Logic is handled by Contact.vb class. Please let me know how to fix this problem.
