  • Apache is not interpreting .PHP files

    I recently downloaded OpenSUSE OS version 11.4 from the site to use it as a server..In order to do that I downloaded the server edition that has Apache/2.2.17 and PHP5 downloaded by default.....Ok till now it is fine Now I started the Apache successfully and put a test.php file in the documentRoot directory. test.php contain only <?php phpinfo() ?> Then using my browser I typed http://localhost/test.php and here was the problem the browser didn't display what phpinfo() should display, instead it asked me whether I want to open or save test.php...which is driving me crazy....   • Shorten Emacs timeout of ~/.emacs read

    My ~/.emacs start-up file is stored in my AFS home directory. Often when I login to a linux machine I will forget to renew my AFS credentials before attempting to edit a local (non-AFS) file with Emacs. When this happens Emacs will attempt to load ~./emacs but cannot because it is in AFS space where I do not have access. Eventually (after a minute or so) Emacs will give up trying to load ~./emacs and continue. But waiting for Emacs to timeout is annoying (typing Ctrl-Z does not seem to interrupt this timeout). I want to shorten the amount of time that Emacs waits before giving up. I have tried the suggestion at this site which says to put the following code in the site-start.el file: (with-timeout (4) (load remote-.emacs)) However, when I do that I get the error Error in init file: Symbol's value as variable is void: remote-\.emacs whenever starting Emacs. How can I shorten this timeout?

    I'm setting up a new web server that hosts a dozen virtual hosts on Ubuntu 12.4 using Apache 2.2.22 with one config file per site. I created all the configuration files all at once and ran a2ensite * to enable them all at once. When I reloaded the configuration it failed and after restarting apache I found the following error message in my error.log: Oops, no RSA or DSA server certificate found for 'server.host.name:0'?!   • Libvirt installation - Centos

    I am currently using Centos 6. I want to use the latest version of libvirt (libvirt 0.9.4). The machine already has libvirt 0.8.1 installed . I did yum remove libvirt to remove the existing libvirt and I compiled 0.9.4 from source using : ./configure --prefix=/ make make install ldconfig /etc/init.d/libvirtd start After the installation is complete, I wanted to use the virsh interface. Once I enter virsh , I get : virsh /lib/libvirt.so.0: version 'LIBVIRT_PRIVATE 0.8.1' not found (required by virsh) Can somone let me know how to solve this issue?   • Using wildcard SSL certs (chain certificate) with mod_gnutls

    I have a wildcard SSL certificate from GoDaddy that has three files: wildcard.crt gd_bundle.crt wildcard.key In setting up mod_gnutls to be used with Apache, I can get the site to come up, but it throws a warning that the SSL certificate has not been validated by a CA. When I use mod_ssl, I can stipulate a SSLCertificateChainFile directive and point it at the bd_bundle.crt file. I do not see how to do this with mod_gnutls. Any help is appreciated. I also know that mod_ssl supports SNI, so if there is not an easy answer, I will just try that. Thanks, QWade

    I'm having the following problem. I'm installing SharePoint 2010 Beta so I need to activate the windows feature "Windows Communication Foundation Non-HTTP Activation". The problem is I cannot activate it, i get the message: "An error has occurred. Not all features were successfully changed" When i look at the log (C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log) I found this error: Process output: [l:186 [186]"SMConfigInstaller[Error]: Failed in calling 'StartService' for service 'NetTcpActivator'. Error code: 0x8007042c Anyone can give me a clue of what is happening here?

  • Remove Dell Openmanage from Windows 2008

    I have installed Dell Openmanage Server Agent 4.2.2 on Windows Server 2008. I need the newer version, so I need to install this version first. However, outside some registry references pointing to sources that aren't there, there is little or no trace of it being installed. For example, no trace of the program files or an entry in Prgrams And Features. Still, installing a newer version keeps coming up with an older version that needs to be removed first. When I try to install version 4.2.2 to repair and eventually remove it, it gives an error: Dell Openmanage Server Agent - Error An error was encountered while testing machine type. Failure openingen required handle to .DLL. Dell Openmanage Server Agent cannot continue the installation. Setup will exit now. I haven't found anything using different parts of the error messages as search terms.

  • Installing esx 3.5 on hpblade 460c G7

    I was trying to install ESX 3.5 on hp blade 460c but it fails with error no 'network adapter is detected'. Anybody has work around for this. I also tried to install ESX 4.1, it also had the same problem but in case of 4.1 there is support to add your custom driver while installing. So I added NIC drivers and installation completed successfully. ESX 3.5 installtion does not support adding custom drivers while installing. I can't use ESX 4.1 because it does not support 'license server' configuration and only asks for license file(key). I do not have license keys, I only have vmware license server. That is the reason I have to be with ESX 3.5.

    We have an RHEL5 server that I'm trying to install PHP-Mcrypt on and I'm stuck when I tried to run ./configure for mcrypt source files. I was using this guide: http://atlantatechpro.com/howtos/howtoslinux/howtosmhashmcrypt When I try to install (./configure) mcrypt, I get this checking for libmcrypt - version = 2.5.0... no Could not run libmcrypt test program, checking why... The test program compiled, but did not run. This usually means that the run-time linker is not finding LIBMCRYPT or finding the wrong version of LIBMCRYPT. If it is not finding LIBMCRYPT, you'll need to set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, or edit /etc/ld.so.conf to point to the installed location Also, make sure you have run ldconfig if that is required on your system If you have an old version installed, it is best to remove it, although you may also be able to get things to work by modifying LD_LIBRARY_PATH configure: error: * libmcrypt was not found I also made a file at /etc/ld.so.conf.d/libmcrypt.conf with /usr/local/libmcrypt in it and ran /sbin/ldconfig I might have screwed things up by trying to reinstall libmcrypt without the configure arguments. Any suggestions on what to do now?

    I am attempting to install Glassfishv3 on my Ubuntu (8.04) VPS using Java 1.6. I initially tried starting the server using: asadmin start-domain and received the following error message: JVM failed to start: com.sun.enterprise.admin.launcher.GFLauncherException: The server exited prematurely with exit code 1. Before it died, it produced the following output: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Command start-domain failed. I attempted to run it again and received a different message: Waiting for DAS to start Error starting domain: domain1. The server exited prematurely with exit code 1. Before it died, it produced the following output: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. Command start-domain failed. If I run cat /proc/meminfo I get the following (all other values are 0kB): MemTotal: 1310720 kB MemFree: 1150668 kB LowTotal: 1310720 kB LowFree: 1150668 kB I have checked the contents of glassfish/glassfish/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml and the JVM setting is: -Xmx512m Any help on resolving this problem would be appreciated.

  • Migrating users and mailboxes from postfix / Maildir to Postfix with Mysql backend

    So I've got 60 or so users on a hand rolled postfix installation on openbsd and I'd like to move their mailboxes to our new mail server running iRedMail (postfix, vmail/mysql back end) Does anyone know of a good way to do this? Preferably a script I can run to keep syncing the users mailboxes as MX records get updated? I presume one way (though I don't have all their passwords!) would be to have a command line imap client that simulated the users copying their mail themselves but I'm sure there must be a shell / php script to migrate users? Anyone got any bright ideas? Chris.

    I have a VPS in England and a hosting account with hostgator. I use GoDaddy to manage my domain name settings. My VPS is mainly used for mail and certain other services. The actual site is hosted at hostgator I had a cname called "www" which would point to mydomain.com, at hostgator All the rest would point to my vps. (The "A" host, @) Now Hostgator lost my original domain name, so pointing to that leads to a fake website. But you can't just make www point to an ip adres. No. I tried adding an "A" host which would point to the hostgator ip-adres and then I would point the "www" cname to that "A" host. But that does not work. Can anyone shed some light on this?

  • Sysprep and Capture task sequence failing using MDT 2010

    I have created a Windows Deployment Services server in Windows 2008 R2. When I originally set it up I was able to successfully use MDT 2010 to create my boot images as well as creating task sequences that would sysprep and capture, and deploy my custom .wim files. Everything was working perfectly. About a month later I boot up my Windows 7 x86 image and run Windows updates to keep my image up to date. I then go and run my sysprep and capture task sequence and I get the following errors: I searched online for the cause of this error message and it just seems to be a generic permission denied type of error message. I then decided to completely rebuild my VM image from scratch and try again. I am still getting the same error messages as before. The following is what I have tried troubleshooting this issue: Troubleshooting: I have ensured that that UAC and the firewall is turned completely off when trying to capture the image. I have tried recreating the task sequence and making sure that the deployment share is updated. I have ensured that the local Administrator account is enabled and has the same password as specified in the task sequence. I have tried joining the computer to the domain and running the task sequence and I get a different error: I have attempted to run the script from the command prompt with "Run as Administrator" and I still receive the same errors above. For testing purposes I have ensured that Everyone has read/write access to my deployment share. I have spent days on trying to resolve this to no avail. Any ideas?   • Filesystems for webserver with SATA and Solid State disk,

    We have just ordered a new webserver with 120 Gb solid state disk and a SATA disk. I am trying to plan ahead what sort of filesystem to use. This system will be running Linux, Apache/Tomcat to host java services. The main service is a system where people can upload reasonably large files (in the order of 100 Mb, images, image stacks and video), which people will be able to annotate and which will be sent to a database server when annotation is complete. Thus far, I plan to put most of the utility programs of the operating system om the SSD and put the large media files there. The SATA disks will hold the less volitile data like apache, tomcat and the servlets. For filesystems I have considered going for the stable EXT3 because I hear that it is best supported. The downside seems to be that it not the ideal choice for large files. That is why I am leaning towards using XFS for the SSD and EXT3 for the SATA. My questions are: 1) Does this sound like a reasonable setup? 2) What filesystems would you recommend for the SSD and for the SATA? Thanks

From what I can tell I require the ExchangeCdo patch. Except when I go to install it, it errors saying I require Outlook 2007. I have Outlook 2010 on the server and have no real way of getting 2007 on instead. Any suggestions?

  • Using %v in Apache LogFormat definition matches ServerName instead of specific vhost requested

    We have an application which uses a DNS wildcard, i.e. *.app.example.com. We're using Apache 2.2 on Ubuntu Hardy. The relevant parts of the Apache config are as follows. In /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: LogFormat "%v %h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\"" vlog In /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/app.example.com: ServerName app.example.com ServerAlias *.app.example.com ... CustomLog "|/usr/sbin/vlogger -s access.log /var/log/apache2/vlogger" vlog Clients access this application using their own URL, e.g. company1.app.example.com, company2.app.example.com, etc. Previously, the %v in the LogFormat directive would match the hostname of the client request, and we'd get several subdirectories under /var/log/apache2/vlogger corresponding to the various client URLs in use. Now, %v appears to be matching the ServerName value, so we only get one log under /var/log/apache2/vlogger/app.example.com. This breaks our logfile analysis because the log file has no indication of which client the log relates to. I can fix this easily by changing the LogFormat to this: LogFormat "%{Host}i %h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\"" vlog This will use the HTTP Host: header to tell vlogger which subdirectory to create the logs in and everything will be fine. The only concern I have is that this has worked in the past and I can't find any indication that this has changed recently. Is anyone else using a similar config, i.e. wildcard + vlogger and using %v? Is it working fine?

    Possible Duplicate: How can I allow one user to su to another without allowing root access? We have a user account that our DBAs use (oracle). I do not want to set a password on this account and want to only allow users in the dba group to su - oracle. How can I accomplish this? I was thinking of just giving them sudo access to the su - oracle command. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a more polished/elegant/secure way.

    hi, i have apache 2.2.3 and jboss 5.1 installed in my server, in apache i have 2 apps in php+mysql and in jboss i have in the root app (/) liferay portal. i used mod_proxy to reach the jboss app : <VirtualHost server_ip:80> ServerName intranet.mycompany.com ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / balancer://jbosscluster/ ProxyPassReverse / http://server_ip:8080 </VirtualHost> but now i have to enable https only in intranet.mycompany.com, and i dont know where configure the ssl, in apache, jboss, both. i tried in jboss in the server.xml, generating a selfsigned certificate with keytool, but apache doesnt forward to https://server_ip:8443 i will appreciate your help.
