  • Using VB6 to search for existence of DataFile in Outlook

    Hi, I am wanting to write an Add-In for Outlook 2003 which, when Outlook is opened, search for the existence of a datafile called DMSDataStore and if it doesn't exist will install the datafile. I have managed to create the Add-In using VB6 and it runs when I open Outlook. However I haven't found the best/easiest way to search for the existence of the datafile. If the datafile exists it is visible within Outlook under the user's mailbox, much the same as an archive folder is. I would like to be able to search for it by name which is DMSDataFile. I did try - Set tmpInbox = parentFolder.Folders("DMSDataFile") This works OK if the datafile exists but will throw an error if it doesn't. I can create an error handler which will then install the datafile but this doesn't seem like a very tidy way of doing things. I guess I might have to recursively search for the datafile. Can someone let me know what is the best / easiest way to search for the datafile using the name of the datafile and give me some code with which to do it. Thanks G

    I want to develop a simple search engine, using ASP.NET and C# , where I can search for a word which contained in a very big text (like the Holy Bible or something like that), then the program shows the user where the word is. I have no idea about in which database I can put this large text and using which method will I search for a word. Any suggestions will help me, and if anyone have a tutorial for anything similar it will benefit me.

  • Pass variable to Info Window in FusionTableLayer

    I am building a web application that includes a Google Map layered with data from a Google Fusion Table. I have defined the info window for the markers in the Fusion Table and all is rendering as expected, but I have one issue. I need to pass a session variable from my web application to be included in the links that are defined in the info window, but can't seem to find a way to do this.     I am trying to understand how does Google search for content within a page. When we search a page, it displays relevant results with keywords in the title or other important places. The thing that astonishes me is that how do they grab the starting area of the text? They show a small text with the search results. How do they manage to have it as there is nothing special in a webpage that makes a Google bot understand from where does the actual content start. Please help me out. Thanks

    I'm trying to use the Search command in Vim: :Rs/F/T/X R = range F = text to find T = text to replace with X = options But, when I want to search for the "." (dot character) I'm getting some problems. The task: Replace all occurences of " ." (space dot) for "" (greater-than) So, first I tried this: :%s/ ./>/g But this changed me all the " ." (space ANY-CHARACTER) to the "" character. Then I remembered that the dot character is a special one, so I tried this: :%s/ \./>/g But vim threw me an error: E486 Can't find pattern " \." And finally I tried this crazy thing: :%s/" ."/>/g and this :%s/" \."/>/g But I got the same result: E486 Can't find pattern... So, how can I search for the dot character using the search command? PS: Sorry for my poor Enlish.

  • Google document does not print correctly on Mac 10.7.5 using Chrome

    When attempting to print a Google document, the header does not get printed at all and the text starts almost in the center of the page - cutting off almost half of the text in the printable area horizontally. The vertical alignment appears fine, with the exception of hte missing header. I have searched the product forums at Google, but they are virtually unusable. Endless threads without a solution! For reference, the document prints fine from Windows XP using Chrome. I can also print from other applications on the Mac without issue - so I am thinking it's a Google doc issue at this point.

  • Google Apps Premier - Viewing shared calendars in outlook

    We currently migrated from exchange to Google Apps Email and have been having issues when it comes to viewing shared calendars from within Outlook. Users are able to view other calendars from within the Google calendar tool but they cannot see these calendars in Outlook. It appears that users with the "Manage Changes" permission are able to view other calendars but they are also able to see any private appointments that a user has created as well. Is anyone aware of any 3rd party tools or workarounds that allow users to view shared calendars within Outlook without having to use the Google calendar tool?

    People seem to have already asked about indexing file system: What options are there for indexing my filesystem? Alternatives to OS X's Spotlight? but I want to actually just index a certain working directory and be able to do that manually (so that I make sure my search is correct). Basically, I am on working a project and I need be able to search in contents quickly. I already use 'locate' and 'updatedb' commands, but those search for file names only. I am looking for similar commands but file contents. Just in case you are wondering why I don't use tracker also like answered in the two posts, tracker have a set of prespecified folders to search in them, and whenever you make a search, you search in all of them. What I want is to be able to search in every project separately.

  • How do I resolve "conflicting accounts" in google apps without breaking links to online photos on picasa?

    I have been using google apps for some time, and only recently learned I have what google calls "conflicting accounts" which is creating a problem I haven't been able to resolve. Turns out that the apps account really only covers email, google docs, and the calendar and not other features like picasa, blogger, youtube etc. and at some point they gave me a non-apps google account with my same (proprietary non-gmail) email address for the additional apps. This is the "conflicting account." I had noticed that I sometimes had to come in through another door when I went back and forth, between docs, picasa, and mail let's say, but never understood why since it was the same username and password and I didn't get any communication about it at the time. Google is now in the process of giving google apps users access to the additional apps and providing instructions for consolidating the two accounts. But if I want to move my picasa site into the new apps structure I have to download my albums and re-synch them. This would be disastrous for me as I have hundreds of photos embedded in my websites, and new web addresses would break all the connections. The alternative seems to be to rename my "personal" (non-apps) accounts as described at http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?answer=185186: Users with conflicting Google Accounts can easily resolve their conflicts by renaming their personal Google Accounts, and the data in their personal accounts will remain safe and accessible to them. Here’s how a user can rename their personal Google Account: * Step 1: Visit www.google.com/accounts and sign in with your personal Google Account * Step 2: Click ‘Change email’ under ‘Personal Settings’ * Step 3: Enter a different email address where you can receive mail, enter your password, and click ‘Save email address’ * Step 4: Check your other email If your users don’t have different email addresses where they can receive mail, they can resolve the conflict by renaming their personal Google Accounts to @gmail.com addresses instead. Sounds easy enough, right? I gave them a gmail address. The wizard said "sorry you can't use a gmail account for this" --which contradicts the last paragraph above but ok, I switched to a new email address I just created for one of my domains. I can send email back and forth between this account and my google apps account with no problem. But when I try to use it as a replacement on the "personal" side I always get "The password you gave is incorrect." I have tried it over and over and know the password is correct. Since I like to get all my emails though one web interface I initially had the new email set up as an add-on to my google apps email account, but noting that the instructions said the "personal account" email could not be associated with any other gmail account I took it off and went back to accessing it via horde so there would be no conflict there, which seemed to make no difference. I can't figure out why it won't accept the password. Does anyone have any thoughts about that? or suggestions for another way to resolve my picasa problem? any help at all is greatly appreciated. I am trying to login to Google/Youtube using clientLogin, retrieve an AuthSub token, exchange it for a multi-session token and then use it in our upload form. Just a note that we are not going to have other users logging into our (secure) website, this is for our use only (no multi-users). We just want a way to upload videos to our YT account via our own website without having to login/upload to YouTube. Ultimately, everything is dependent on the first step. My AuthSub token is always being returned as invalid (Error '403'). All the steps I used are below with username/password changed. Anyone have an insight on why my AuthSub is always invalid? I am spending an enormous amount of time trying to get this to work.   • plotting multiple google maps to page

    I'm trying to append more than one Google Map to a page. But it seems like I'm having some trouble.
