    When I try to initialize a 3D array of size 300*300*4 in a C program, my program stops running and reports stack overflow error. The system I am using has 3GB RAM, which should be sufficeint. Is there any way to increase memory allocated to a program? I am using Dev C++ on Windows Vista.

I've learned that XML is more of a data carrier rather than a data displayer like HTML is. I've read that I can use XML to HTML converters.     Hello, I'm writing transpose function for 8x16bit vectors with SSE2 intrinsics. Since there are 8 arguments for that function (a matrix of 8x8x16bit size), I can't do anything but pass them by reference. Will that be optimized by the compiler (I mean, will these __m128i objects be passed in registers instead of stack)?   • typical memory usage of an iphone app

    According to Instruments 'Net Bytes' of my app are never more than 2MB yet sometimes I receive memory warning and the app crashes because some views on the stack are unloaded by force. I'd like to know what is the typical memory footprint where system would not send you memory warning and unload the views ? I have so far tried this on OS 3.1.2 on iphone 3GS and 3G and with 3G giving warning almost 80% of the time I test the app on it.

    Hello. I'm working with Microchip's TCP/IP stack and the host name of my device is not being broadcasted, although I can access it using its DHCP assigned IP. So the question is, what is the protocol that a network device uses to broadcast its host name, so that when I see a list of devices in a network I can identify it by name?     We're using Trac as the task management tool at the project we work in. However, Trac search is maybe not the most intuitive search out there, and we end up having multiple duplicates as the reporters can't effectively find if there already is a reported ticket of the question he or she found. Stack Overflow's "Related Questions" concept is great and works magnificently! I was wondering if someone has heard of some similar plugin to Trac, or if you have solved this problem some other way.

    .NET 4 includes new concurrent data structures. The Bag and Dictionary collections have obvious applications but I cannot see any use for the Queue and Stack data structures. What are people using these for? Also, I've noticed that the design based upon linked lists incurs a lot of allocation and that destroys scalability. This is surprising given that the sole purpose of these collections is multicore programming. Is this an inherent limitation or are they just badly implemented?

Currently, I'm doing this using PHP but having a LAMP stack for this seems overkill. I've tried things like autoHotkey but the syntax and functionality is horrific.   • crt0.o and crt1.o -- What's the difference?

    Hello, recently I've been trying to debug some low level work and I could not find the crt0.S for the compiler(avr-gcc) but I did find a crt1.S (and the same with the corresponding .o files) What is the difference between these two files? Is crt1 something completely different or what? They both seem to have to do with something for bootstrapping(setting up stack frame and such), but why the distinction?
