• iPad: How to let a user write a hand-written note using a Pogo(like) stylus?

  How could I let a user jot a quick hand-written note on an iPad using a Pogo-like stylus? (Or by using their finger, some kind of stylus makes it more legible feasible.) Initial thoughts: 1) Open GL canvas? 2) Store the output as a .png/.jpg snapshot of the openGL screen (by taking a screenhot of the iPad? 3) Would the note be limited to one screenshot, could there be a scrollable area notepad to write out a long note?

• How can I get the user object from a service in Symfony2

  My site is using a third party service for authentication as well as other bits of functionality so I have setup a service that does all the API calls for me and it's this service that I need to be able to access the user object. I've tried injecting the security.context service into my API service but I get a ServiceCircularReferenceException because my user authentication provider references the API service (it has to in order to authenticate the user). So I get a chain of security.context -> authentication provider -> user provider -> API service -> security.context I'm struggling to this of another way of getting the user object and I can't see any obvious way of splitting up this chain. • How do I get user input to refer to a variable in Python?

  I would like to get user input to refer to some list in my code. I think it's called namespace? So, what would I have to do to this code for me to print whatever the user inputs, supposing they input 'list1' or 'list2'? list1 = ['cat', 'dog', 'juice'] list2 = ['skunk', 'bats', 'pogo stick'] x = raw_input('which list would you like me to print?') I plan to have many such lists, so a series of if...then statements seems unruly.

• How to parallelize this groovy code?

  I'm trying to write a reusable component in Groovy to easily shoot off emails from some of our Java applications. I would like to pass it a List, where Email is just a POJO(POGO?) with some email info. I'd like it to be multithreaded, at least running all the email logic in a second thread, or make one thread per email. I am really foggy on multithreading in Java so that probably doesn't help! I've attempted a few different ways, but here is what I have right now: void sendEmails(List<Email> emails) { def threads = [] def sendEm = emails.each{ email -> def th = new Thread({ Random rand = new Random() def wait = (long)(rand.nextDouble() * 1000) println "in closure" this.sleep wait sendEmail(email) }) println "putting thread in list" threads << th } threads.each { it.run() } threads.each { it.join() } } I was hoping the sleep would randomly slow some threads down so the console output wouldn't be sequential.
