Ubuntu 12.10 installation in virtual box

I am trying to install Ubuntu 12.10 as guest in virtual box in Windows 7 machine. After intallation and copying the files it asks me to restart Now and I click that button but I get an error that Virtual box stopped working and it prompts me to close the virtual box. When i restart Virtual box, Status in the Ubuntu is displayed as Aborted and after restarting it tries to reinstall Ubuntu. I have tried thrice. Please guide me how to resolve this issue. Hello Folks, I have a LDAP master server installed on CentOS-5.4 and I have installed LDAP on one more machine and I want it be configured as LDAP slave server but when I am importing the LDIF file or trying to create any new object in slave LDAP getting the below errors: LDIF text import Could not add object dc=transcomus,dc=com LDAP said: Server is unwilling to perform Error number: 0x35 (LDAP_UNWILLING_TO_PERFORM) Description: The LDAP server refused to perform the operation. How to enable "Sleep" for Windows 2012 server

I recently installed Windows Server 2012. This will serve as the dev-instance for our engineers and will be accessed in multiple time zones. I therefore plan to run this 24x7 but want to conserve energy by going to sleep mode when not in use & enable Wake-On-Magic-Packet. Based on the previous post it appears that there is no option to sleep Win Server 2012 with Hyper-V. Since I don't care much about virtualization now, I uninstalled Hyper-V. In addition to this, I have done the following 1) Ran powercfg -a. Don't find sleep. 2) Added [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hvboot] "Start"=dword:00000003 to try gaining sleep - no luck! 3) Only see Shutdown and Restart in power options. Please help me sleep and save the planet :-) Thanks, Ramesh

Hi, I'm using rich:toolbar with backing bean menuAction method.I'm facing one problem in menu link icons.Suppose if i ve child menu in my parent menu it is displaying "hand symbol" for that.else if i dont ve any child menu in my parent menu it is showing "I" this icon.While clicking parent menu(without having child menu) i want hand symbol icon instead of "I" this icon. please help me....... Not able to access a folder in Windows 7 and not able to see in Ubuntu.

I have four partitions on my hard disk. Partition C has Windows XP installed and Partition G has Windows 7 installed. Ubuntu 10.10 is also installed, probably in F. Partitions C and G are NTFS. When I boot into C, XP is loading but when I click on the C Drive in MyComputer, it displays: "Access is denied". Windows 7 displays the folder tree of C, but when I try to open a folder, I am not able to view the contents. The same error: of Access Denied. When I try to view the C Partition using Ubuntu, the entire C partition is not visible. I tried following commands to take ownership of the C drive: takeown /f C: cacls C: /G Rohit:F but still I am not able to get rid of "Access Denied". I again tried the above commands from the Windows 7 safe mode, but still the problem persists. The two commands return "Successful", but nothing is happening.

Hi All, We have a situation where we want to use filter for URL's containing some specific request parameters. e.g htt://mydomain.com/?id=78&formtype=simple_form&....... htt://mydomain.com/?id=788&formtype=special_form&....... and so on , id are fetched at run time, I want configure filter in web.xml only if formtype=special_form. How should achieve the solution . Can filter be configure with regex patterns? Really appreciate your help on this. Thanks, Rohit

Widgets on Samsung Star/ Samsung Corby

Hi, I just created a new widget by following a tutorial. I created a zip containing all files and renamed it to HelloWorld.wgt instead of HelloWorld.zip. I sent it to my samsung star/corby via data cable, but when I try to open the wgt file on my phone it says it can't open it, because it doesn't know the filetype. It gives me the famous cannot fetch URL error. Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: Permission denied: connect I tried the force http option and also manually adding a http:// version of the above url. It does not work at all. I am working on a windows 7 64 bit pc. Any help would be appreciated. Ramesh

bitmap button not displaying in 3D style

Hi, I want to display on my dialog, a bitmap button. I am using the below code CImage image; hr = image.Load(_T("myimage.png")); // just change extension to load jpg bitmap.Attach(image.Detach()); m_button.ModifyStyle(0,BS_BITMAP); m_button.SetBitmap(bitmap); This way bitmap is correctly displayed on button, but the button is not displayed in 3D style as normal buttons would look. I have set owner drawn property to false, still it displaying like this. Any ideas as to what could be wrong? Thanks, Rohit

Creating a UAC like environment

I want to create an environment like UAC. i.e. my dialog should appear to the user and unless he responds to it, i want to disable the background. User should not be able to carry out any activity. For this purpose I created a new desktop and display my dialog on the new desktop. But i want something like UAC where the background seems disabled (or transparent??). Hi, I am trying to access the MYSQL installed inside the Ubuntu Guest (In VirtualBox) from my Windows vista Host. It always says not able to find the given IP in the network. I have tried ping the ubuntu virtual machine, but it was not working. So i believe root cause for this is, some bridging between Host & Guest is not enabled. Since i am very new to Ubuntu, am not able to troubleshoot this. Can someone help me out? Cheers
