  • Delphi SetLength Custom Indexing

    - by Andreas Rejbrand
    In Delphi, it is possible to create an array of the type var Arr: array[2..N] of MyType; which is an array of N - 1 elements indexed from 2 to N. If we instead declare a dynamic array var Arr: array of MyType and later allocate N - 1 elements by means of SetLength(Arr, N - 1) then the elements will be indexed from 0 to N - 2. Is it possible to make them indexed from 2 to N (say) instead?

  • Doing a SetLength on an array passed into a proc by reference

    - by csharpdefector
    Hi All, Sure, even I can do this... var testarray : array of string; setlength(testarray, 5); but if I want to get clever and have a procedure into which I pass the array by referance like this I cant do it! procedure DoStuffWithArray(var passedarray : array of string); begin setlength(passedarray, 5); end; compiler says 'incompatible types' on the single line of code in my proc. I can do other stuff on the array like set set element values if i do a setlength before i call the proc, but I cannot do the setlength in my proc, which is what I want to do. Any help much appreciated, thanks all.

  • latex list environment inside the tabular environment: extra line at top preventing alignment

    - by Usagi
    Hello good people of stackoverflow. I have a LaTeX question that is bugging me. I have been trying to get a list environment to appear correctly inside the tabular environment. So far I have gotten everything to my liking except one thing: the top of the list does not align with other entries in the table, in fact it looks like it adds one line above the list... I would like to have these lists at the top. This is what I have, a custom list environment: \newenvironment{flushemize}{ \begin{list}{$\bullet$} {\setlength{\itemsep}{1pt} \setlength{\parskip}{0pt} \setlength{\parsep}{0pt} \setlength{\partopsep}{0pt} \setlength{\topsep}{0pt} \setlength{\leftmargin}{12pt}}}{\end{list}} Renamed ragged right: \newcommand{\rr}{\raggedright} and here is my table: \begin{table}[H]\caption{Tank comparisons}\label{tab:tanks} \centering \rowcolors{2}{white}{tableShade} \begin{tabular}{p{1in}p{1.5in}p{1.5in}rr} \toprule {\bf Material} & {\bf Pros} & {\bf Cons} & {\bf Size} & {\bf Cost} \\ \midrule \rr Reinforced concrete &\rr \begin{flushemize}\item Strong \item Secure \end{flushemize}&\rr \begin{flushemize}\item Prone to leaks \item Relatively expensive to install \item Heavy \end{flushemize} & 100,000 gal & \$299,400 \\ \rr Steel & \begin{flushemize}\item Strong \item Secure \end{flushemize} & \begin{flushemize}\item Relatively expensive to install \item Heavy \item Require painting to prevent rusting \end{flushemize} & 100,000 gal & \$130,100 \\ \rr Polypropylene & \begin{flushemize}\item Easy to install \item Mobile \item Inexpensive \item Prefabricated \end{flushemize} & \begin{flushemize}\item Relatively insecure \item Max size available 10,000 gal \end{flushemize} & 10,000 gal & \$5,000 \\ \rr Wood & \begin{flushemize}\item Easy to install \item Mobile \item Cheap to install \end{flushemize} & \begin{flushemize}\item Prone to rot \item Must remain full once constructed \end{flushemize} & 100,000 gal & \$86,300\\ \bottomrule \end{tabular} \end{table} Thank you for any advice :)

  • Delphi 2009 - Strip non alpha numeric from string

    I've got the following code, and need to strip all non alpha numeric characters. It's not working in delphi 2009 ` unit Unit2; //Used information from // http://stackoverflow.com/questions/574603/what-is-the-fastest-way-of-stripping-non-alphanumeric-characters-from-a-string-in interface uses Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Variants, Classes, Graphics, Controls, Forms, Dialogs, StdCtrls; Type TExplodeArray = Array Of String; TForm2 = class(TForm) Memo1: TMemo; ListBox1: TListBox; Button1: TButton; procedure Button1Click(Sender: TObject); private { Private declarations } public { Public declarations } Function Explode ( Const cSeparator, vString : String ) : TExplodeArray; Function Implode ( Const cSeparator : String; Const cArray : TExplodeArray ) : String; Function StripHTML ( S : String ) : String; function allwords(data:string):integer; end; var Form2: TForm2; allword, allphrase: TExplodeArray; implementation {$R *.dfm} Function TForm2.StripHTML ( S : String ) : String; Var TagBegin, TagEnd, TagLength : Integer; Begin TagBegin := Pos ( '<', S ); // search position of first < While ( TagBegin > 0 ) Do Begin // while there is a < in S TagEnd := Pos ( '>', S ); // find the matching > TagLength := TagEnd - TagBegin + 1; Delete ( S, TagBegin, TagLength ); // delete the tag TagBegin := Pos ( '<', S ); // search for next < End; Result := S; // give the result End; Function TForm2.Implode ( Const cSeparator : String; Const cArray : TExplodeArray ) : String; Var i : Integer; Begin Result := ''; For i := 0 To Length ( cArray ) - 1 Do Begin Result := Result + cSeparator + cArray [i]; End; System.Delete ( Result, 1, Length ( cSeparator ) ); End; Function TForm2.Explode ( Const cSeparator, vString : String ) : TExplodeArray; Var i : Integer; S : String; Begin S := vString; SetLength ( Result, 0 ); i := 0; While Pos ( cSeparator, S ) 0 Do Begin SetLength ( Result, Length ( Result ) + 1 ); Result[i] := Copy ( S, 1, Pos ( cSeparator, S ) - 1 ); Inc ( i ); S := Copy ( S, Pos ( cSeparator, S ) + Length ( cSeparator ), Length ( S ) ); End; SetLength ( Result, Length ( Result ) + 1 ); Result[i] := Copy ( S, 1, Length ( S ) ); End; //Copied from JclStrings function StrKeepChars(const S: AnsiString; const Chars: TSysCharSet): AnsiString; var Source, Dest: PChar; begin SetLength(Result, Length(S)); UniqueString(Result); Source := PChar(S); Dest := PChar(Result); while (Source < nil) and (Source^ < #0) do begin if Source^ in Chars then begin Dest^ := Source^; Inc(Dest); end; Inc(Source); end; SetLength(Result, (Longint(Dest) - Longint(PChar(Result))) div SizeOf(AnsiChar)); end; function ReplaceNewlines(const AValue: string): string; var SrcPtr, DestPtr: PChar; begin SrcPtr := PChar(AValue); SetLength(Result, Length(AValue)); DestPtr := PChar(Result); while SrcPtr < {greater than less than} #0 do begin if (SrcPtr[0] = #13) and (SrcPtr[1] = #10) then begin DestPtr[0] := '\'; DestPtr[1] := 't'; Inc(SrcPtr); Inc(DestPtr); end else DestPtr[0] := SrcPtr[0]; Inc(SrcPtr); Inc(DestPtr); end; SetLength(Result, DestPtr - PChar(Result)); end; function StripNonAlphaNumeric(const AValue: string): string; var SrcPtr, DestPtr: PChar; begin SrcPtr := PChar(AValue); SetLength(Result, Length(AValue)); DestPtr := PChar(Result); while SrcPtr < #0 do begin if SrcPtr[0] in ['a'..'z', 'A'..'Z', '0'..'9'] then begin DestPtr[0] := SrcPtr[0]; Inc(DestPtr); end; Inc(SrcPtr); end; SetLength(Result, DestPtr - PChar(Result)); end; function TForm2.allwords(data:string):integer; var i:integer; begin listbox1.Items.add(data); data:= StripHTML ( data ); listbox1.Items.add(data); ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// data := StrKeepChars(data, ['A'..'Z', 'a'..'z', '0'..'9']); // Strips out everything data comes back blank in Delphi 2009 ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// listbox1.Items.add(data); data := stringreplace(data,' ',' ', [rfReplaceAll, rfIgnoreCase] ); //Replace two spaces with one. listbox1.Items.add(data); allword:= explode(' ',data); { // Converting the following PHP code to Delphi $text = ereg_replace("[^[:alnum:]]", " ", $text); while(strpos($text,' ')!==false) $text = ereg_replace(" ", " ", $text); $text=$string=strtolower($text); $text=explode(" ",$text); return count($text); } for I := 0 to Length(allword) - 1 do listbox1.Items.Add(allword[i]); end; procedure TForm2.Button1Click(Sender: TObject); begin //[^[:alnum:]] allwords(memo1.Text); end; end. ` How else would I go about doing this?   • Change page layout in the middle of a LaTeX document

    - by David
    I'm looking for a way to change some page layout dimensions in the middle of a LaTeX document. The reason is, I'd like to have smaller margins and longer lines in the "References" section of my report document (basically because short lines aren't so important there and I can save space). In my preamble I have (works fine): \setlength\textwidth{130mm} \setlength\oddsidemargin{14.6mm} In the document I simply try to re-set them at the right point but they're ignored. ... last paragraph ends here. \newpage \setlength\textwidth{150mm} % +20mm text width \setlength\oddsidemargin{13.6mm} % -10mm left margin (so it stays centered) References ... The geometry package is useful but only for global adjustments in the preamble, so I can't use it here. Is it not possible to change the page layout at some point in the document?

  • Faster way of initializing arrays in Delphi

    - by Max
    I'm trying to squeeze every bit of performance in my Delphi application and now I came to a procedure which works with dynamic arrays. The slowest line in it is SetLength(Result, Len); which is used to initialize the dynamic array. When I look at the code for the SetLength procedure I see that it is far from optimal. The call sequence is as follows: _DynArraySetLength - DynArraySetLength DynArraySetLength gets the array length (which is zero for initialization) and then uses ReallocMem which is also unnecessary for initilization. I was doing SetLength to initialize dynamic array all the time. Maybe I'm missing something? Is there a faster way to do this?

  • Wrong chapter number on page headers except first page

    - by okhalid
    Hi, I am writing up my thesis in Latex and have a template. It works nicely for every thing else except one. Chapter numbers are correctly incremented on the first page of each chapter but for consecutive pages of each chapter, the header saying "Chapter x - This is a chapter title" have 1 always as chapter number. Following is the code sample from the CLS file which i think is relevant to the headers: \newcommand\btypeout[1]{\bhrule\typeout{\space #1}\bhrule} \def\today{\ifcase\month\or January\or February\or March\or April\or May\or June\or July\or August\or September\or October\or November\or December\fi \space \number\year} \usepackage{setspace} \onehalfspacing \setlength{\parindent}{0pt} \setlength{\parskip}{2.0ex plus0.5ex minus0.2ex} \usepackage{vmargin} \setmarginsrb { 1.5in} % left margin { 0.6in} % top margin { 1.0in} % right margin { 0.8in} % bottom margin { 20pt} % head height {0.25in} % head sep { 9pt} % foot height { 0.3in} % foot sep \raggedbottom \setlength{\topskip}{1\topskip \@plus 5\p@} \doublehyphendemerits=10000 % No consecutive line hyphens. \brokenpenalty=10000 % No broken words across columns/pages. \widowpenalty=9999 % Almost no widows at bottom of page. \clubpenalty=9999 % Almost no orphans at top of page. \interfootnotelinepenalty=9999 % Almost never break footnotes. \usepackage{fancyhdr} \lhead[\rm\thepage]{\fancyplain{}{\sl{\rightmark}}} \rhead[\fancyplain{}{\sl{\leftmark}}]{\rm\thepage} \chead{}\lfoot{}\rfoot{}\cfoot{} \pagestyle{fancy} %% Chapter Heading --------------- \renewcommand{\chaptermark}[1]{\btypeout{\thechapter\space #1}\markboth{\@chapapp\ \thechapter\ #1}{\@chapapp\ \thechapter\ #1}} %%-------------------------------------------------- \renewcommand{\sectionmark}[1]{} \renewcommand{\subsectionmark}[1]{} \def\cleardoublepage{\clearpage\if@twoside \ifodd\c@page\else \hbox{} \thispagestyle{empty} \newpage \if@twocolumn\hbox{}\newpage\fi\fi\fi} Thanks, Omer

  • Casting interfaces in java

    - by owca
    I had two separate interfaces, one 'MultiLingual' for choosing language of text to return, and second 'Justification' to justify returned text. Now I need to join them, but I'm stuck at 'java.lang.ClassCastException' error. Class Book is not important here. Data.length and FormattedInt.width correspond to the width of the line. The code : public interface MultiLingual { static int ENG = 0; static int PL = 1; String get(int lang); int setLength(int length); } class Book implements MultiLingual { private String title; private String publisher; private String author; private int jezyk; public Book(String t, String a, String p, int y){ this(t, a, p, y, 1); } public Book(String t, String a, String p, int y, int lang){ title = t; author = a; publisher = p; jezyk = lang; } public String get(int lang){ jezyk = lang; return this.toString(); } public int setLength(int i){ return 0; } @Override public String toString(){ String dane; if (jezyk == ENG){ dane = "Author: "+this.author+"\n"+ "Title: "+this.title+"\n"+ "Publisher: "+this.publisher+"\n"; } else { dane = "Autor: "+this.author+"\n"+ "Tytul: "+this.title+"\n"+ "Wydawca: "+this.publisher+"\n"; } return dane; } } class Data implements MultiLingual { private int day; private int month; private int year; private int jezyk; private int length; public Data(int d, int m, int y){ this(d, m, y, 1); } public Data(int d, int m, int y, int lang){ day = d; month = m; year = y; jezyk = lang; } public String get(int lang){ jezyk = lang; return this.toString(); } public int setLength(int i){ length = i; return length; } @Override public String toString(){ String dane=""; String miesiac=""; String dzien=""; switch(month){ case 1: miesiac="January"; case 2: miesiac="February"; case 3: miesiac="March"; case 4: miesiac="April"; case 5: miesiac="May"; case 6: miesiac="June"; case 7: miesiac="July"; case 8: miesiac="August"; case 9: miesiac="September"; case 10: miesiac="October"; case 11: miesiac="November"; case 12: miesiac="December"; } if(day==1){ dzien="st"; } if(day==2 || day==22){ dzien="nd"; } if(day==3 || day==23){ dzien="rd"; } else{ dzien="th"; } if(jezyk==ENG){ dane =this.day+dzien+" of "+miesiac+" "+this.year; } else{ dane = this.day+"."+this.month+"."+this.year; } return dane; } } interface Justification { static int RIGHT=1; static int LEFT=2; static int CENTER=3; String justify(int just); } class FormattedInt implements Justification { private int liczba; private int width; private int wyrownanie; public FormattedInt(int s, int i){ liczba = s; width = i; wyrownanie = 2; } public String justify(int just){ wyrownanie = just; String wynik=""; String tekst = Integer.toString(liczba); int len = tekst.length(); int space_left=width - len; int space_right = space_left; int space_center_left = (width - len)/2; int space_center_right = width - len - space_center_left -1; String puste=""; if(wyrownanie == LEFT){ for(int i=0; i<space_right; i++){ puste = puste + " "; } wynik = tekst+puste; } else if(wyrownanie == RIGHT){ for(int i=0; i<space_left; i++){ puste = puste + " "; } wynik = puste+tekst; } else if(wyrownanie == CENTER){ for(int i=0; i<space_center_left; i++){ puste = puste + " "; } wynik = puste + tekst; puste = " "; for(int i=0; i< space_center_right; i++){ puste = puste + " "; } wynik = wynik + puste; } return wynik; } } And the test code that shows this casting "(Justification)gatecrasher[1]" which gives me errors : MultiLingual gatecrasher[]={ new Data(3,12,1998), new Data(10,6,1924,MultiLingual.ENG), new Book("Sekret","Rhonda Byrne", "Nowa proza",2007), new Book("Tuesdays with Morrie", "Mitch Albom", "Time Warner Books",2003, MultiLingual.ENG), }; gatecrasher[0].setLength(25); gatecrasher[1].setLength(25); Justification[] t={ new FormattedInt(345,25), (Justification)gatecrasher[1], (Justification)gatecrasher[0], new FormattedInt(-7,25) }; System.out.println(" 10 20 30"); System.out.println("123456789 123456789 123456789"); for(int i=0;i < t.length;i++) System.out.println(t[i].justify(Justification.RIGHT)+"<----\n");

  • Controlling LaTeX column flow

    - by hdhermans
    What I'm trying to do: I have a page that consists of pairs of two sentences each. The pairs are separated by a whole line break. My problem is that when I have an odd number of pairs, the second sentence will automatically be placed on the next column. How can I use LaTeX to make block structures that multicol does not ignore, to keep the two sentences together? If there's better code to solve this problem, or a better column implementation (though I don't believe I can use \twocolumn in the document declaration), please post it. My current code: \documentclass{article} \usepackage{fullpage} \usepackage{multicol} \setlength{\parindent}{0pt} \setlength{\parskip}{\baselineskip} \newcommand{\pair}[2]{ \emph{#1}\\* #2 } \begin{document} \begin{multicols}{2} \pair{Sentence 1.}{Sentence 2.} \pair{Sentence 2 (pair 2).}{Sentence 2 (pair 2).} \pair{The last pair, first sentence.}{Last sentence.} \end{multicols} \end{document} This generates: http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/3444/columns.png . The second pair is what I am trying to avoid.

  • Enumerating a string

    - by JamesB
    I have a status which is stored as a string of a set length, either in a file or a database. I'm looking to enumerate the possible status' I have the following type to define the possible status' Type TStatus = (fsNormal = Ord('N'),fsEditedOnScreen = Ord('O'), fsMissing = Ord('M'),fsEstimated = Ord('E'),fsSuspect = Ord('s'), fsSuspectFromOnScreen = Ord('o'),fsSuspectMissing = Ord('m'), fsSuspectEstimated = Ord('e')); Firstly is this really a good idea? or should I have a seperate const array storing the char conversions? That would mean more than one place to update. Now convert a string to a status array I have the following, but how can I check if a char is valid without looping through the enumeration? Function StrToStatus(Value : String):TStatusArray; var i: Integer; begin if Trim(Value) = '' then begin SetLength(Result,0); Exit; end; SetLength(Result,Length(Value)); for i := 1 to Length(Value) do begin Result[i] := TStatus(Value[i]); // I don't think this line is safe. end; end; AFAIK this should be fine for converting back again. Function StatusToStr(Value : TStatusArray):String; var i: Integer; begin for i := 0 to Length(Value) - 1 do Result := Result + Chr(Ord(Value[i])) end; I'm using Delphi 2007

  • Delphi 6 OleServer.pas Invoke memory leak

    - by Mike Davis
    There's a bug in delphi 6 which you can find some reference online for when you import a tlb the order of the parameters in an event invocation is reversed. It is reversed once in the imported header and once in TServerEventDIspatch.Invoke. you can find more information about it here: http://cc.embarcadero.com/Item/16496 somewhat related to this issue there appears to be a memory leak in TServerEventDispatch.Invoke with a parameter of a Variant of type Var_Array (maybe others, but this is the more obvious one i could see). The invoke code copies the args into a VarArray to be passed to the event handler and then copies the VarArray back to the args after the call, relevant code pasted below: // Set our array to appropriate length SetLength(VarArray, ParamCount); // Copy over data for I := Low(VarArray) to High(VarArray) do VarArray[I] := OleVariant(TDispParams(Params).rgvarg^[I]); // Invoke Server proxy class if FServer <> nil then FServer.InvokeEvent(DispID, VarArray); // Copy data back for I := Low(VarArray) to High(VarArray) do OleVariant(TDispParams(Params).rgvarg^[I]) := VarArray[I]; // Clean array SetLength(VarArray, 0); There are some obvious work-arounds in my case: if i skip the copying back in case of a VarArray parameter it fixes the leak. to not change the functionality i thought i should copy the data in the array instead of the variant back to the params but that can get complicated since it can hold other variants and seems to me that would need to be done recursively. Since a change in OleServer will have a ripple effect i want to make sure my change here is strictly correct. can anyone shed some light on exactly why memory is being leaked here? I can't seem to look up the callstack any lower than TServerEventDIspatch.Invoke (why is that?) I imagine that in the process of copying the Variant holding the VarArray back to the param list it added a reference to the array thus not allowing it to be release as normal but that's just a rough guess and i can't track down the code to back it up. Maybe someone with a better understanding of all this could shed some light?

  • How to use a TFileStream to read 2D matrices into dynamic array?

    - by Robert Frank
    I need to read a large (2000x2000) matrix of binary data from a file into a dynamic array with Delphi 2010. I don't know the dimensions until run-time. I've never read raw data like this, and don't know IEEE so I'm posting this to see if I'm on track. I plan to use a TFileStream to read one row at a time. I need to be able to read as many of these formats as possible: 16-bit two's complement binary integer 32-bit two's complement binary integer 64-bit two's complement binary integer IEEE single precision floating-point For 32-bit two's complement, I'm thinking something like the code below. Changing to Int64 and Int16 should be straight forward. How can I read the IEEE? Am I on the right track? Any suggestions on this code, or how to elegantly extend it for all 4 data types above? Since my post-processing will be the same after reading this data, I guess I'll have to copy the matrix into a common format when done. I have no problem just having four procedures (one for each data type) like the one below, but perhaps there's an elegant way to use RTTI or buffers and then move()'s so that the same code works for all 4 datatypes? Thanks! type TRowData = array of Int32; procedure ReadMatrix; var Matrix: array of TRowData; NumberOfRows: Cardinal; NumberOfCols: Cardinal; CurRow: Integer; begin NumberOfRows := 20; // not known until run time NumberOfCols := 100; // not known until run time SetLength(Matrix, NumberOfRows); for CurRow := 0 to NumberOfRows do begin SetLength(Matrix[CurRow], NumberOfCols); FileStream.ReadBuffer(Matrix[CurRow], NumberOfCols * SizeOf(Int32)) ); end; end;

  • Scripting custom drawing in Delphi application with IF/THEN/ELSE statements?

    - by Jerry Dodge
    I'm building a Delphi application which displays a blueprint of a building, including doors, windows, wiring, lighting, outlets, switches, etc. I have implemented a very lightweight script of my own to call drawing commands to the canvas, which is loaded from a database. For example, one command is ELP 1110,1110,1290,1290,3,8388608 which draws an ellipse, parameters are 1110x1110 to 1290x1290 with pen width of 3 and the color 8388608 converted from an integer to a TColor. What I'm now doing is implementing objects with common drawing routines, and I'd like to use my scripting engine, but this calls for IF/THEN/ELSE statements and such. For example, when I'm drawing a light, if the light is turned on, I'd like to draw it yellow, but if it's off, I'd like to draw it gray. My current scripting engine has no recognition of such statements. It just accepts simple drawing commands which correspond with TCanvas methods. Here's the procedure I've developed (incomplete) for executing a drawing command on a canvas: function DrawCommand(const Cmd: String; var Canvas: TCanvas): Boolean; type TSingleArray = array of Single; var Br: TBrush; Pn: TPen; X: Integer; P: Integer; L: String; Inst: String; T: String; Nums: TSingleArray; begin Result:= False; Br:= Canvas.Brush; Pn:= Canvas.Pen; if Assigned(Canvas) then begin if Length(Cmd) > 5 then begin L:= UpperCase(Cmd); if Pos(' ', L)> 0 then begin Inst:= Copy(L, 1, Pos(' ', L) - 1); Delete(L, 1, Pos(' ', L)); L:= L + ','; SetLength(Nums, 0); X:= 0; while Pos(',', L) > 0 do begin P:= Pos(',', L); T:= Copy(L, 1, P - 1); Delete(L, 1, P); SetLength(Nums, X + 1); Nums[X]:= StrToFloatDef(T, 0); Inc(X); end; Br.Style:= bsClear; Pn.Style:= psSolid; Pn.Color:= clBlack; if Inst = 'LIN' then begin Pn.Width:= Trunc(Nums[4]); if Length(Nums) > 5 then begin Br.Style:= bsSolid; Br.Color:= Trunc(Nums[5]); end; Canvas.MoveTo(Trunc(Nums[0]), Trunc(Nums[1])); Canvas.LineTo(Trunc(Nums[2]), Trunc(Nums[3])); Result:= True; end else if Inst = 'ELP' then begin Pn.Width:= Trunc(Nums[4]); if Length(Nums) > 5 then begin Br.Style:= bsSolid; Br.Color:= Trunc(Nums[5]); end; Canvas.Ellipse(Trunc(Nums[0]),Trunc(Nums[1]),Trunc(Nums[2]),Trunc(Nums[3])); Result:= True; end else if Inst = 'ARC' then begin Pn.Width:= Trunc(Nums[8]); Canvas.Arc(Trunc(Nums[0]),Trunc(Nums[1]),Trunc(Nums[2]),Trunc(Nums[3]), Trunc(Nums[4]),Trunc(Nums[5]),Trunc(Nums[6]),Trunc(Nums[7])); Result:= True; end else if Inst = 'TXT' then begin Canvas.Font.Size:= Trunc(Nums[2]); Br.Style:= bsClear; Pn.Style:= psSolid; T:= Cmd; Delete(T, 1, Pos(' ', T)); Delete(T, 1, Pos(',', T)); Delete(T, 1, Pos(',', T)); Delete(T, 1, Pos(',', T)); Canvas.TextOut(Trunc(Nums[0]), Trunc(Nums[1]), T); Result:= True; end; end else begin //No space found, not a valid command end; end; end; end; What I'd like to know is what's a good lightweight third-party scripting engine I could use to accomplish this? I would hate to implement parsing of IF, THEN, ELSE, END, IFELSE, IFEND, and all those necessary commands. I need simply the ability to tell the scripting engine if certain properties meet certain conditions, it needs to draw the object a certain way. The light example above is only one scenario, but the same solution needs to also be applicable to other scenarios, such as a door being open or closed, locked or unlocked, and draw it a different way accordingly. This needs to be implemented in the object script drawing level. I can't hard-code any of these scripting/drawing rules, the drawing needs to be controlled based on the current state of the object, and I may also wish to draw a light a certain shade or darkness depending on how dimmed the light is.

  • Optimizing a thread safe Java NIO / Serialization / FIFO Queue [migrated]

    - by trialcodr
    I've written a thread safe, persistent FIFO for Serializable items. The reason for reinventing the wheel is that we simply can't afford any third party dependencies in this project and want to keep this really simple. The problem is it isn't fast enough. Most of it is undoubtedly due to reading and writing directly to disk but I think we should be able to squeeze a bit more out of it anyway. Any ideas on how to improve the performance of the 'take'- and 'add'-methods? /** * <code>DiskQueue</code> Persistent, thread safe FIFO queue for * <code>Serializable</code> items. */ public class DiskQueue<ItemT extends Serializable> { public static final int EMPTY_OFFS = -1; public static final int LONG_SIZE = 8; public static final int HEADER_SIZE = LONG_SIZE * 2; private InputStream inputStream; private OutputStream outputStream; private RandomAccessFile file; private FileChannel channel; private long offs = EMPTY_OFFS; private long size = 0; public DiskQueue(String filename) { try { boolean fileExists = new File(filename).exists(); file = new RandomAccessFile(filename, "rwd"); if (fileExists) { size = file.readLong(); offs = file.readLong(); } else { file.writeLong(size); file.writeLong(offs); } } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } catch (IOException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } channel = file.getChannel(); inputStream = Channels.newInputStream(channel); outputStream = Channels.newOutputStream(channel); } /** * Add item to end of queue. */ public void add(ItemT item) { try { synchronized (this) { channel.position(channel.size()); ObjectOutputStream s = new ObjectOutputStream(outputStream); s.writeObject(item); s.flush(); size++; file.seek(0); file.writeLong(size); if (offs == EMPTY_OFFS) { offs = HEADER_SIZE; file.writeLong(offs); } notify(); } } catch (IOException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } /** * Clears overhead by moving the remaining items up and shortening the file. */ public synchronized void defrag() { if (offs > HEADER_SIZE && size > 0) { try { long totalBytes = channel.size() - offs; ByteBuffer buffer = ByteBuffer.allocateDirect((int) totalBytes); channel.position(offs); for (int bytes = 0; bytes < totalBytes;) { int res = channel.read(buffer); if (res == -1) { throw new IOException("Failed to read data into buffer"); } bytes += res; } channel.position(HEADER_SIZE); buffer.flip(); for (int bytes = 0; bytes < totalBytes;) { int res = channel.write(buffer); if (res == -1) { throw new IOException("Failed to write buffer to file"); } bytes += res; } offs = HEADER_SIZE; file.seek(LONG_SIZE); file.writeLong(offs); file.setLength(HEADER_SIZE + totalBytes); } catch (IOException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } } /** * Returns the queue overhead in bytes. */ public synchronized long overhead() { return (offs == EMPTY_OFFS) ? 0 : offs - HEADER_SIZE; } /** * Returns the first item in the queue, blocks if queue is empty. */ public ItemT peek() throws InterruptedException { block(); synchronized (this) { if (offs != EMPTY_OFFS) { return readItem(); } } return peek(); } /** * Returns the number of remaining items in queue. */ public synchronized long size() { return size; } /** * Removes and returns the first item in the queue, blocks if queue is empty. */ public ItemT take() throws InterruptedException { block(); try { synchronized (this) { if (offs != EMPTY_OFFS) { ItemT result = readItem(); size--; offs = channel.position(); file.seek(0); if (offs == channel.size()) { truncate(); } file.writeLong(size); file.writeLong(offs); return result; } } return take(); } catch (IOException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } /** * Throw away all items and reset the file. */ public synchronized void truncate() { try { offs = EMPTY_OFFS; file.setLength(HEADER_SIZE); size = 0; } catch (IOException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } /** * Block until an item is available. */ protected void block() throws InterruptedException { while (offs == EMPTY_OFFS) { try { synchronized (this) { wait(); file.seek(LONG_SIZE); offs = file.readLong(); } } catch (IOException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } } /** * Read and return item. */ @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") protected ItemT readItem() { try { channel.position(offs); return (ItemT) new ObjectInputStream(inputStream).readObject(); } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } catch (IOException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } }

  • Reset or Clear .NET MemoryStream

    - by roygbiv
    The .NET MemoryStream does not appear to have a .Reset or .Clear method. I was thinking of using the following code to accomplish this: ms.Seek(0, IO.SeekOrigin.Begin) ms.SetLength(0) What is the proper way to clear or reset an existing .NET MemoryStream?

  • C++ Regarding cin.ignore()

    - by user1578897
    i would hope someone can modify my code as its so buggy. sometime its work, sometime it dont.. so let me explain more.. Text file data is as below Line3D, [70, -120, -3], [-29, 1, 268] Line3D, [25, -69, -33], [-2, -41, 58] To read the above line.. i use the following char buffer[30]; cout << "Please enter filename: "; cin.ignore(); getline(cin,filename); readFile.open(filename.c_str()); //if successfully open if(readFile.is_open()) { //record counter set to 0 numberOfRecords = 0; while(readFile.good()) { //input stream get line by line readFile.getline(buffer,20,','); if(strstr(buffer,"Point3D")) { Point3D point3d_tmp; readFile>>point3d_tmp; // and so on... Then i did a overload on the ifstream for Line3d ifstream& operator>>(ifstream &input,Line3D &line3d) { int x1,y1,z1,x2,y2,z2; //get x1 input.ignore(2); input>>x1; //get y1 input.ignore(); input>>y1; //get z1 input.ignore(); input>>z1; //get x2 input.ignore(4); input>>x2; //get y2 input.ignore(); input>>y2; //get z2 input.ignore(); input>>z2; input.ignore(2); Point3D pt1(x1,y1,z1); Point3D pt2(x2,y2,z2); line3d.setPt1(pt1); line3d.setPt2(pt2); line3d.setLength(); } But the issue is the record work sometime and sometime it dont.. what i mean is if at this point //i add a cout cout << x1 << y1 << z1; cout << x2 << y2 << z2; //its works! Point3D pt1(x1,y1,z1); Point3D pt2(x2,y2,z2); line3d.setPt1(pt1); line3d.setPt2(pt2); line3d.setLength(); but if i take away the cout it dont work. how do i change my cin.ignore() so the data can be handle properly , consider number range is -999 to 999

  • Capturing and Transforming ASP.NET Output with Response.Filter

    - by Rick Strahl
    During one of my Handlers and Modules session at DevConnections this week one of the attendees asked a question that I didn’t have an immediate answer for. Basically he wanted to capture response output completely and then apply some filtering to the output – effectively injecting some additional content into the page AFTER the page had completely rendered. Specifically the output should be captured from anywhere – not just a page and have this code injected into the page. Some time ago I posted some code that allows you to capture ASP.NET Page output by overriding the Render() method, capturing the HtmlTextWriter() and reading its content, modifying the rendered data as text then writing it back out. I’ve actually used this approach on a few occasions and it works fine for ASP.NET pages. But this obviously won’t work outside of the Page class environment and it’s not really generic – you have to create a custom page class in order to handle the output capture. [updated 11/16/2009 – updated ResponseFilterStream implementation and a few additional notes based on comments] Enter Response.Filter However, ASP.NET includes a Response.Filter which can be used – well to filter output. Basically Response.Filter is a stream through which the OutputStream is piped back to the Web Server (indirectly). As content is written into the Response object, the filter stream receives the appropriate Stream commands like Write, Flush and Close as well as read operations although for a Response.Filter that’s uncommon to be hit. The Response.Filter can be programmatically replaced at runtime which allows you to effectively intercept all output generation that runs through ASP.NET. A common Example: Dynamic GZip Encoding A rather common use of Response.Filter hooking up code based, dynamic  GZip compression for requests which is dead simple by applying a GZipStream (or DeflateStream) to Response.Filter. The following generic routines can be used very easily to detect GZip capability of the client and compress response output with a single line of code and a couple of library helper routines: WebUtils.GZipEncodePage(); which is handled with a few lines of reusable code and a couple of static helper methods: /// <summary> ///Sets up the current page or handler to use GZip through a Response.Filter ///IMPORTANT:  ///You have to call this method before any output is generated! /// </summary> public static void GZipEncodePage() {     HttpResponse Response = HttpContext.Current.Response;     if(IsGZipSupported())     {         stringAcceptEncoding = HttpContext.Current.Request.Headers["Accept-Encoding"];         if(AcceptEncoding.Contains("deflate"))         {             Response.Filter = newSystem.IO.Compression.DeflateStream(Response.Filter,                                        System.IO.Compression.CompressionMode.Compress);             Response.AppendHeader("Content-Encoding", "deflate");         }         else        {             Response.Filter = newSystem.IO.Compression.GZipStream(Response.Filter,                                       System.IO.Compression.CompressionMode.Compress);             Response.AppendHeader("Content-Encoding", "gzip");                            }     }     // Allow proxy servers to cache encoded and unencoded versions separately    Response.AppendHeader("Vary", "Content-Encoding"); } /// <summary> /// Determines if GZip is supported /// </summary> /// <returns></returns> public static bool IsGZipSupported() { string AcceptEncoding = HttpContext.Current.Request.Headers["Accept-Encoding"]; if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(AcceptEncoding) && (AcceptEncoding.Contains("gzip") || AcceptEncoding.Contains("deflate"))) return true; return false; } GZipStream and DeflateStream are streams that are assigned to Response.Filter and by doing so apply the appropriate compression on the active Response. Response.Filter content is chunked So to implement a Response.Filter effectively requires only that you implement a custom stream and handle the Write() method to capture Response output as it’s written. At first blush this seems very simple – you capture the output in Write, transform it and write out the transformed content in one pass. And that indeed works for small amounts of content. But you see, the problem is that output is written in small buffer chunks (a little less than 16k it appears) rather than just a single Write() statement into the stream, which makes perfect sense for ASP.NET to stream data back to IIS in smaller chunks to minimize memory usage en route. Unfortunately this also makes it a more difficult to implement any filtering routines since you don’t directly get access to all of the response content which is problematic especially if those filtering routines require you to look at the ENTIRE response in order to transform or capture the output as is needed for the solution the gentleman in my session asked for. So in order to address this a slightly different approach is required that basically captures all the Write() buffers passed into a cached stream and then making the stream available only when it’s complete and ready to be flushed. As I was thinking about the implementation I also started thinking about the few instances when I’ve used Response.Filter implementations. Each time I had to create a new Stream subclass and create my custom functionality but in the end each implementation did the same thing – capturing output and transforming it. I thought there should be an easier way to do this by creating a re-usable Stream class that can handle stream transformations that are common to Response.Filter implementations. Creating a semi-generic Response Filter Stream Class What I ended up with is a ResponseFilterStream class that provides a handful of Events that allow you to capture and/or transform Response content. The class implements a subclass of Stream and then overrides Write() and Flush() to handle capturing and transformation operations. By exposing events it’s easy to hook up capture or transformation operations via single focused methods. ResponseFilterStream exposes the following events: CaptureStream, CaptureString Captures the output only and provides either a MemoryStream or String with the final page output. Capture is hooked to the Flush() operation of the stream. TransformStream, TransformString Allows you to transform the complete response output with events that receive a MemoryStream or String respectively and can you modify the output then return it back as a return value. The transformed output is then written back out in a single chunk to the response output stream. These events capture all output internally first then write the entire buffer into the response. TransformWrite, TransformWriteString Allows you to transform the Response data as it is written in its original chunk size in the Stream’s Write() method. Unlike TransformStream/TransformString which operate on the complete output, these events only see the current chunk of data written. This is more efficient as there’s no caching involved, but can cause problems due to searched content splitting over multiple chunks. Using this implementation, creating a custom Response.Filter transformation becomes as simple as the following code. To hook up the Response.Filter using the MemoryStream version event: ResponseFilterStream filter = new ResponseFilterStream(Response.Filter); filter.TransformStream += filter_TransformStream; Response.Filter = filter; and the event handler to do the transformation: MemoryStream filter_TransformStream(MemoryStream ms) { Encoding encoding = HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentEncoding; string output = encoding.GetString(ms.ToArray()); output = FixPaths(output); ms = new MemoryStream(output.Length); byte[] buffer = encoding.GetBytes(output); ms.Write(buffer,0,buffer.Length); return ms; } private string FixPaths(string output) { string path = HttpContext.Current.Request.ApplicationPath; // override root path wonkiness if (path == "/") path = ""; output = output.Replace("\"~/", "\"" + path + "/").Replace("'~/", "'" + path + "/"); return output; } The idea of the event handler is that you can do whatever you want to the stream and return back a stream – either the same one that’s been modified or a brand new one – which is then sent back to as the final response. The above code can be simplified even more by using the string version events which handle the stream to string conversions for you: ResponseFilterStream filter = new ResponseFilterStream(Response.Filter); filter.TransformString += filter_TransformString; Response.Filter = filter; and the event handler to do the transformation calling the same FixPaths method shown above: string filter_TransformString(string output) { return FixPaths(output); } The events for capturing output and capturing and transforming chunks work in a very similar way. By using events to handle the transformations ResponseFilterStream becomes a reusable component and we don’t have to create a new stream class or subclass an existing Stream based classed. By the way, the example used here is kind of a cool trick which transforms “~/” expressions inside of the final generated HTML output – even in plain HTML controls not HTML controls – and transforms them into the appropriate application relative path in the same way that ResolveUrl would do. So you can write plain old HTML like this: <a href=”~/default.aspx”>Home</a>  and have it turned into: <a href=”/myVirtual/default.aspx”>Home</a>  without having to use an ASP.NET control like Hyperlink or Image or having to constantly use: <img src=”<%= ResolveUrl(“~/images/home.gif”) %>” /> in MVC applications (which frankly is one of the most annoying things about MVC especially given the path hell that extension-less and endpoint-less URLs impose). I can’t take credit for this idea. While discussing the Response.Filter issues on Twitter a hint from Dylan Beattie who pointed me at one of his examples which does something similar. I thought the idea was cool enough to use an example for future demos of Response.Filter functionality in ASP.NET next I time I do the Modules and Handlers talk (which was great fun BTW). How practical this is is debatable however since there’s definitely some overhead to using a Response.Filter in general and especially on one that caches the output and the re-writes it later. Make sure to test for performance anytime you use Response.Filter hookup and make sure it' doesn’t end up killing perf on you. You’ve been warned :-}. How does ResponseFilterStream work? The big win of this implementation IMHO is that it’s a reusable  component – so for implementation there’s no new class, no subclassing – you simply attach to an event to implement an event handler method with a straight forward signature to retrieve the stream or string you’re interested in. The implementation is based on a subclass of Stream as is required in order to handle the Response.Filter requirements. What’s different than other implementations I’ve seen in various places is that it supports capturing output as a whole to allow retrieving the full response output for capture or modification. The exception are the TransformWrite and TransformWrite events which operate only active chunk of data written by the Response. For captured output, the Write() method captures output into an internal MemoryStream that is cached until writing is complete. So Write() is called when ASP.NET writes to the Response stream, but the filter doesn’t pass on the Write immediately to the filter’s internal stream. The data is cached and only when the Flush() method is called to finalize the Stream’s output do we actually send the cached stream off for transformation (if the events are hooked up) and THEN finally write out the returned content in one big chunk. Here’s the implementation of ResponseFilterStream: /// <summary> /// A semi-generic Stream implementation for Response.Filter with /// an event interface for handling Content transformations via /// Stream or String. /// <remarks> /// Use with care for large output as this implementation copies /// the output into a memory stream and so increases memory usage. /// </remarks> /// </summary> public class ResponseFilterStream : Stream { /// <summary> /// The original stream /// </summary> Stream _stream; /// <summary> /// Current position in the original stream /// </summary> long _position; /// <summary> /// Stream that original content is read into /// and then passed to TransformStream function /// </summary> MemoryStream _cacheStream = new MemoryStream(5000); /// <summary> /// Internal pointer that that keeps track of the size /// of the cacheStream /// </summary> int _cachePointer = 0; /// <summary> /// /// </summary> /// <param name="responseStream"></param> public ResponseFilterStream(Stream responseStream) { _stream = responseStream; } /// <summary> /// Determines whether the stream is captured /// </summary> private bool IsCaptured { get { if (CaptureStream != null || CaptureString != null || TransformStream != null || TransformString != null) return true; return false; } } /// <summary> /// Determines whether the Write method is outputting data immediately /// or delaying output until Flush() is fired. /// </summary> private bool IsOutputDelayed { get { if (TransformStream != null || TransformString != null) return true; return false; } } /// <summary> /// Event that captures Response output and makes it available /// as a MemoryStream instance. if (!IsOutputDelayed) _stream.Write(buffer, offset, buffer.Length); } } The key features are the events and corresponding OnXXX methods that handle the event hookups, and the Write() and Flush() methods of the stream implementation. All the rest of the members tend to be plain jane passthrough stream implementation code without much consequence. I do love the way Action<t> and Func<T> make it so easy to create the event signatures for the various events – sweet. A few Things to consider Performance Response.Filter is not great for performance in general as it adds another layer of indirection to the ASP.NET output pipeline, and this implementation in particular adds a memory hit as it basically duplicates the response output into the cached memory stream which is necessary since you may have to look at the entire response. If you have large pages in particular this can cause potentially serious memory pressure in your server application. So be careful of wholesale adoption of this (or other) Response.Filters. Make sure to do some performance testing to ensure it’s not killing your app’s performance. Response.Filter works everywhere A few questions came up in comments and discussion as to capturing ALL output hitting the site and – yes you can definitely do that by assigning a Response.Filter inside of a module. If you do this however you’ll want to be very careful and decide which content you actually want to capture especially in IIS 7 which passes ALL content – including static images/CSS etc. through the ASP.NET pipeline. So it is important to filter only on what you’re looking for – like the page extension or maybe more effectively the Response.ContentType. Response.Filter Chaining Originally I thought that filter chaining doesn’t work at all due to a bug in the stream implementation code. But it’s quite possible to assign multiple filters to the Response.Filter property. So the following actually works to both compress the output and apply the transformed content: WebUtils.GZipEncodePage(); ResponseFilterStream filter = new ResponseFilterStream(Response.Filter); filter.TransformString += filter_TransformString; Response.Filter = filter; However the following does not work resulting in invalid content encoding errors: ResponseFilterStream filter = new ResponseFilterStream(Response.Filter); filter.TransformString += filter_TransformString; Response.Filter = filter; WebUtils.GZipEncodePage(); In other words multiple Response filters can work together but it depends entirely on the implementation whether they can be chained or in which order they can be chained. In this case running the GZip/Deflate stream filters apparently relies on the original content length of the output and chokes when the content is modified. But if attaching the compression first it works fine as unintuitive as that may seem. • Cannot decode complete cipher list in .NET SslStream handshake.

    - by karmasponge
    While attempting to move from a 'C' based SSL implementation to C# using the .NET SslStream and we have run into what look like cipher compatibility issues with the .NET SslStream and a AS400 machine we are trying to connect to (which worked previously). When we call SslStream.AuthenticateAsClient it is sending the following: 16 03 00 00 37 01 00 00 33 03 00 4d 2c 00 ee 99 4e 0c 5d 83 14 77 78 5c 0f d3 8f 8b d5 e6 b8 cd 61 0f 29 08 ab 75 03 f7 fa 7d 70 00 00 0c 00 05 00 0a 00 13 00 04 00 02 00 ff 01 00 Which decodes as (based on http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/nss/ssl/draft302.txt) [16] Record Type [03 00] SSL Version [00 37] Body length [01] SSL3_MT_CLIENT_HELLO [00 00 33] Length (51 bytes) [03 00] Version number = 768 [4d 2c 00 ee] 4 Bytes unix time [… ] 28 Bytes random number [00] Session number [00 0c] 12 bytes (2 * 6 Cyphers)?   • how to mount partitions from USB drives in Windows using Delphi?

    - by user569556
    Hi. I'm a Delphi programmer. I want to mount all partitions from USB drives in Windows (XP). The OS is doing this automatically but there are situations when such a program is useful. I know how to find if a drive is on USB or not. My code so far is: type STORAGE_QUERY_TYPE = (PropertyStandardQuery = 0, PropertyExistsQuery, PropertyMaskQuery, PropertyQueryMaxDefined); TStorageQueryType = STORAGE_QUERY_TYPE; STORAGE_PROPERTY_ID = (StorageDeviceProperty = 0, StorageAdapterProperty); TStoragePropertyID = STORAGE_PROPERTY_ID; STORAGE_PROPERTY_QUERY = packed record PropertyId: STORAGE_PROPERTY_ID; QueryType: STORAGE_QUERY_TYPE; AdditionalParameters: array[0..9] of AnsiChar; end; TStoragePropertyQuery = STORAGE_PROPERTY_QUERY; STORAGE_BUS_TYPE = (BusTypeUnknown = 0, BusTypeScsi, BusTypeAtapi, BusTypeAta, BusType1394, BusTypeSsa, BusTypeFibre, BusTypeUsb, BusTypeRAID, BusTypeiScsi, BusTypeSas, BusTypeSata, BusTypeMaxReserved = $7F); TStorageBusType = STORAGE_BUS_TYPE; STORAGE_DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR = packed record Version: DWORD; Size: DWORD; DeviceType: Byte; DeviceTypeModifier: Byte; RemovableMedia: Boolean; CommandQueueing: Boolean; VendorIdOffset: DWORD; ProductIdOffset: DWORD; ProductRevisionOffset: DWORD; SerialNumberOffset: DWORD; BusType: STORAGE_BUS_TYPE; RawPropertiesLength: DWORD; RawDeviceProperties: array[0..0] of AnsiChar; end; TStorageDeviceDescriptor = STORAGE_DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR; const IOCTL_STORAGE_QUERY_PROPERTY = $002D1400; var i: Integer; H: THandle; USBDrives: array of Byte; Query: TStoragePropertyQuery; dwBytesReturned: DWORD; Buffer: array[0..1023] of Byte; sdd: TStorageDeviceDescriptor absolute Buffer; begin SetLength(UsbDrives, 0); SetErrorMode(SEM_FAILCRITICALERRORS); for i := 0 to 99 do begin H := CreateFile(PChar('\\.\PhysicalDrive' + IntToStr(i)), 0, FILE_SHARE_READ or FILE_SHARE_WRITE, nil, OPEN_EXISTING, 0, 0); if H <> INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE then begin try dwBytesReturned := 0; FillChar(Query, SizeOf(Query), 0); FillChar(Buffer, SizeOf(Buffer), 0); sdd.Size := SizeOf(Buffer); Query.PropertyId := StorageDeviceProperty; Query.QueryType := PropertyStandardQuery; if DeviceIoControl(H, IOCTL_STORAGE_QUERY_PROPERTY, @Query, SizeOf(Query), @Buffer, SizeOf(Buffer), dwBytesReturned, nil) then if sdd.BusType = BusTypeUsb then begin SetLength(USBDrives, Length(USBDrives) + 1); UsbDrives[High(USBDrives)] := Byte(i); end; finally CloseHandle(H); end; end; end; for i := 0 to High(USBDrives) do begin // end; end. But I don't know how to access partitions on each drive and mounts them. Can you please help me? I searched before I asked and I couldn't find a working code. But if I did not properly then I'm sorry and please show me that topic. Best regards, John

  • Program crash on deque from queue

    - by SwedishGit
    My first question asked here, so please excuse if I fail to include something... I'm working on a homework project, which basically consists of creating a "Jukebox" (importing/exporting albums from txt files, creating and "playing" a playlist, etc.). I've become stuck on one point: When "playing" the playlist, which consists of a self-made Queue, a copy of it is made from which songs are dequeued and printed out with a time delay. This appears to run fine on the first run through the program, but if the "play" option is chosen again (with the same playlist, created from a different menu option), it crashes before managing to print the first song. It also crashes if creating a new playlist, but then it manages to print some songs (seem to depend on the number of songs in the first/new playlists...) before crashing. With printouts I've been able to track the crashing down to being on the "item = n-data" call in the deque function... but can't get my head around why this would crash. Below is the code I think should be relevant... let me know if there are other parts that would help if I include. Edit: The Debug Error shown on crash is: R6010 abort() has been called The method to play from the playlist: void Jukebox::playList() { if(songList.getNodes() > 0) { Queue tmpList(songList); Song tmpSong; while(tmpList.deque(tmpSong)) { clock_t temp; temp = clock () + 2 * CLOCKS_PER_SEC ; while (clock() < temp) {} } } else cout << "There are no songs in the playlist!" << endl; } Queue: // Queue.h - Projekt-uppgift // Håkan Sjölin 2014-05-31 //----------------------------------------------------------------------------- #ifndef queue_h #define queue_h #include "Song.h" using namespace std; When I connect to 80 port, plain text web site using TIdTCPClient component, all works fine, data is received without a problem, but, when I connect to 443 port, SSL web site, data not always came. Maybe something with my receive data block ? Need advice. while not Terminated do begin SetLength(data, 0); ws.IOHandler.ReadBytes(data, -1); if Length(data) = 0 then break; // processing_my(data); end; Thanks

  • Frustration with fancyhdr

    Hi I have the following tex document: \documentclass[a4paper,11pt,oneside]{book} \usepackage[usenames,dvipsnames]{color} \usepackage[T1]{fontenc} \usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc} \usepackage{lipsum} \usepackage[left=2cm,top=3cm,right=1.5cm,bottom=2cm]{geometry} \renewcommand{\chaptermark}[1]{\markboth{#1}{}} \renewcommand{\sectionmark}[1]{\markright{#1}{}} \renewcommand{\subsectionmark}[1]{\markright{\thesubsection}{}} \usepackage[Lenny]{fncychap} \usepackage{thumbpdf} \usepackage[colorlinks]{hyperref} \setlength\marginparwidth{1cm} \usepackage{fancyhdr} \pagestyle{fancy} \fancyhead[LO,L]{Book template} \fancyhead[RO,R]{\rightmark} \fancyfoot[CO,C] {\thepage} \begin{document} \chapter{Chapter Intro} \lipsum \chapter{Chapter with subsections} \section{section foo} \lipsum \subsection{subsection bar} \lipsum \end{document} A sample can be viewed at http://www.mediafire.com/?0m5mnka32kj On the top right: How to make it show the chapter title if there is no section, as on page 2? How to make it show the section title and nothing but the section title (no numbers, no subsections, subsubsections, etc) if there is an active section, as it's the case on page 4? Thanks

  • Adding an Object to Vector loses Reference using Java?

    - by thechiman
    I have a Vector that holds a number of objects. My code uses a loop to add objects to the Vector depending on certain conditions. My question is, when I add the object to the Vector, is the original object reference added to the vector or does the Vector make a new instance of the object and adds that? For example, in the following code: private Vector numbersToCalculate; StringBuffer temp = new StringBuffer(); while(currentBuffer.length() > i) { //Some other code numbersToCalculate.add(temp); temp.setLength(0); //resets the temp StringBuffer } What I'm doing is adding the "temp" StringBuffer to the numbersToCalculate Vector. Should I be creating a new StringBuffer within the loop and adding that or will this code work? Thanks for the help! Eric

  • Reading a memorystream

    - by user1842828
    Using several examples here on StackOverflow I thought the following code would decompress a gzip file then read the memory-stream and write it's content to the console. No errors occur but I get no output. public static void Decompress(FileInfo fileToDecompress) { using (FileStream originalFileStream = fileToDecompress.OpenRead()) { string currentFileName = fileToDecompress.FullName; string newFileName = currentFileName.Remove(currentFileName.Length - fileToDecompress.Extension.Length); using (FileStream decompressedFileStream = File.Create(newFileName)) { using (GZipStream decompressionStream = new GZipStream(originalFileStream, CompressionMode.Decompress)) { MemoryStream memStream = new MemoryStream(); memStream.SetLength(decompressedFileStream.Length); decompressedFileStream.Read(memStream.GetBuffer(), 0, (int)decompressedFileStream.Length); memStream.Position = 0; var sr = new StreamReader(memStream); var myStr = sr.ReadToEnd(); Console.WriteLine("Stream Output: " + myStr); } } } }

  • Writing complex records to file

    - by DrSobhani
    Hi I have defined some records in my project which may be consisted of other records and also dynamic arrays of normal data types and other records , it is n example of a record type Type1=record x:integer; end; Type2=record Y:array of X; str:string; end; When I tried to save one of variables of these records type to file with blockwrite function like this : var Temp1:Type2; begin setlength(temp1.y,100); blockwrite(MyFile,Temp1,sizeOf(Temp1); it just wrote as much as the size of pure record is ,but temp1 has a dynmic arrays which is resized , Could someone please tell me how I can write a complex record to a file , I mean something like what is used in VB6 . Thanks
