Will asking users to upgrade their browser cause issues?

Ok I am considering putting up something asking ie6 users to upgrade their browser. However, I am concerned that users will upgrade it, not like it. Then blame me.

Is this a real concern? am I going to get people calling me asking me how to use their new browser or how to get their old one back?

Whats your thought on this topic?
