Sound coming out of headphone when running Ubuntu, but not window 7

I've downloaded Ubuntu yesterday, and I thought that everything went smoothly, until I found out a problem today. When I am running the Ubuntu OS on my laptop, the Samsung RC420, the speaker and the headphone works fine. However, when I am running the Window 7 OS, the speaker works fine, but my headphone will not emit any sound although the laptop has detected that 'a device has been plugged into the audio jack'. The same problem persist when I connect my X-minis as well.

I tried updating my sound card drivers, check if they are hidden/disabled/disconnected and everything else. Nothing works :(
