    In JavaScript: "ab abc cab ab ab".replace(/\bab\b/g, "AB"); correctly gives me: "AB abc cab AB AB" When I use utf-8 characters though: "aß aß? ?aß aß aß".replace(/\baß\b/g, "AB"); the word boundary operator doesn't seem to work: "aß aß? ?aß aß aß" Is there a solution to this?

  • Java.lang.reflext.Proxy returning another proxy from invocation results in ClassCastException on ass

    So I'm playing with geotools and I thought I'd proxy one of their data-access classes and trace how it was being used in their code. I coded up a dynamic proxy and wrapped a FeatureSource (interface) in it and off it went happily. Then I wanted to look at some of the transitive objects returned by the featureSource as well, since the main thing a FeatureSource does is return a FeatureCollection (FeatureSource is analogous to a sql DataSource and featurecollection to an sql statement). in my invocationhandler I just passed the call through to the underlying object, printing out the target class/method/args and result as I went, but for calls that returned a FeatureCollection (another interface), I wrapped that object in my proxy (the same class but a new instance, shouldn't matter should it?) and returned it. BAM!   • UNIX-style RegExp Replace running extremely slowly under windows. Help? EDIT: Negative lookahead ass

    I'm trying to run a unix regEXP on every log file in a 1.12 GB directory, then replace the matched pattern with ''. Test run on a 4 meg file is took about 10 minutes, but worked. Obviously something is murdering performance by several orders of magnitude. Find: ^(?!.*155[0-2][0-9]{4}\s.*).*$ -- NOTE: match any line NOT starting 155[0-2]NNNN where in is a number 0-9. Replace with: ''. Is there some justifiable reason for my regExp to take this long to replace matching text, or is the program I am using (this is windows / a program called "grepWin") most likely poorly optimized? Thanks. UPDATE: I am noticing that searching for ^(155[0-2]).$ takes ~7 seconds in a 5.6 MB file with 77 matches. Adding the Negative Lookahead Assertion, ?=, so that the regExp becomes ^(?!155[0-2]).$ is causing it to take at least 5-10 minutes; granted, there will be thousands and thousands of matches. Should the negative lookahead assertion be extremely detrimental to performance, and/or a large quantity of matches?

The idea is that the database to be accessed is set in the application settings and then this loads the appropriate DLL and assigns it to an instance of an interface for my application to access.     When I run this SQL statement: CREATE UNIQUE INDEX WordsIndex ON Words (Word ASC); I get the following exception message: The CREATE UNIQUE INDEX statement terminated because a duplicate key was found for the object name 'dbo.Words' and the index name 'WordsIndex'. The duplicate key value is (ass). The statement has been terminated. The 'Word' column has a datatype of nvarchar(100). There are two items in the 'Word' column that SQL Server interprets as the same: 'aß' and 'ass', which causes the indexing failure. Why would SQL Server interpret those two different words as the same word?

    I want to mark a method as "debug step through" even if an exception is thrown (and catched within) the function. This is because 99% of the times I know this function will throw an exception (Assembly.GetTypes), and since this function is in a library I wish to hide this normal exception. (Why did MS not add an exceptionless GetTypes() call?)     I want to batch convert all .mkv files in a folder into .mp4 with VLC. It should use the original video-/audio stream and if possible the .ass subtitle of the .mkv. It's not really a conversion, it's more like changing the container – my player can't read the MKV videos. If I do this conversion by hand (manually) it works, but I have a lot of MKV files to convert, so it would take a lot of time. I have searched the internet for a batch file to do this and I found a few. I tried to modify them to my wish, but all attempts I tried just created a .mp4 file that doesn't contain the audio stream and the video stream also cannot be rendered by all my media players on the PC. So could someone tell me how the batch has to look like, so it works with the original video and audio stream (and maybe .ass subtitles)?

    I am trying to redirect an old URL that uses a query string to the new url that does not.. /tripinfo.cfm?RiverNameID=1&AdventureID=6 Now needs to go to /trips/big-ass-river/overnight.html So I am trying.. RewriteRule ^tripinfo.cfm?RiverNameID=1&AdventureID=6$ /trips/big-ass-river/overnight.html [R=301] But this is not working. . I can redirect the main page no problem using RewriteRule ^tripinfo.cfm$ /trips.html [R=301] If any one could tell me what Im missing that would be great.

I would consider ext js for making awesome looking business applications, and the framework is huge, but to use a big library I have some fears that it's difficult, buggy and time-consuming. My fear is that I wouldn't want to use some bloatware.
