  • MSBuild Starter Kits...

    Hi guys Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any MSBuild starter kits out there. What I mean by starter kits is that from the looks of it most builds to kinda the same sort of steps with minor changes here and there (i.e. most builds would run test, coverage, zip up the results, produce a report, deploy etc). Also what most people in general want from a CI build, test build, release build is mostly the same with minor changes here and there. Now don't get me wrong i think that most scripts are fairly different in the end. But I can't help but think that most start out life being fairly similar. Hence does anyone know of any "starter kits" that have like a dev/CI/test/release build with the common tasks that most people would want that you can just start changing and modifying?     I am trying to start working with excel documents through the OpenXML SDK Spreadsheet API. But I havent found any good guides or even examples on how to create a xlsx file from scratch. Only how to open an existing document and modify it. I have been thinking on having a empty template document and make a copy of it an then begin my proccessing on it. But it doesent feel right. It might be easier but I not comfortable using a technique I dont feel that I understand "pretty" good atleast. So my question is: Anyone has any god tips on articles or books or any other type of resource that explains the API. Thanks in advance. /johan

  • Changing Render Kits in Browser

    I'm working on a project to develop a cross-browser testing web app. Simply put, I'm tired of having to maintain multiple browsers on the same system and IE in VMware solely for the purpose of testing. Does anyone know if there is any way to change the render kit programmatically? For example, if I insert a URL, I would be able to load the URL and switch the browser render within a frame of some assortment. I am experienced with PHP, JS, and RoR if there is a solution using any of those. Thank you! John

  • ASP.net error message when using REST starter kit

    Hi all, I've written some code using the REST starter kit and it works fine on my development machine. However, when I upload it to our server the page gives me the following error message... CS1684: Warning as Error: Reference to type 'System.Runtime.Serialization.Json.DataContractJsonSerializer' claims it is defined in 'c:\WINNT\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.ServiceModel.Web\3.5.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.ServiceModel.Web.dll', but it could not be found I've removed code line by line and it appears that the following line of code is triggering the error... HttpContent newOrganizationContent = HttpContentExtensions.CreateXmlSerializable(newOrganizationXml); Really haven't got a clue how to fix it. I assumed it might be because it needs a newer version of the framework to run, but looking in IIS it says it's running version 2.0.50727 which I think is the lates version because it says that even when we're using framework 3.5 Very confused, any ideas?   • What is the name of this screw? (from HP ProLiant quick-deploy rail kits)

    I need the name of the screw for the HP quick deploy rail kit. The screw clicks into the square holes of the rack. It is a Gen4 Rail kit but the screw is like the Gen8 Rail kit ones. I called HP support, but they couldn't really help me. Unfortunately the rack manual does not name this screw either. After googling a while, I found the compatible "Thumb Style Rack Screws". It would do the job but isn't exactly what I am looking for. So, what is the name of the pictured screw.

I can sell kits or the individual parts, So the stock of the kits is virtual. The problem when I sell: If I only sell kits, calculate the stock would be easy: "I have 3 Flux capacitors and 2 Mr Fusions, so I have 2 Time travel kits and a Flux Capacitor" But I can sell Kits or individual parts. I have to track the stock of the individual parts and the possible kits at the same time (and I have to compensate for the sell price) Probably this is really simple, but I can't see a simple solution. Resuming: I have to find a way of tracking the stock and the database/program is the one who has to do it (I cant ask the clerk to correct the stock) I'm using php+MySql. But this is more a logical problem than a programing one

  • Multiple copies off the same printer on Windows 7 from PrintUIEntry

    I currently have a number of bat files which work perfectly fine on Windows XP which install the same printer multiple times with a number of finisher options set - e.g. after running the bat file below I would end up with four printers in the printer drop down called Sharp Kits Printer - A4 Single Sided Sharp Kits Printer - A4 Single Sided Stapled Sharp Kits Printer - A4 Duplex Stapled Sharp Kits Printer - A4 Duplex which all have there options configured in the relevant way. I have amended on Windows 7 to point to correct INF file and printer name in the INF files - a single printer installs fine. However when I run the complete batch file only the first printer in it is installed - occassionally the later ones flash up in the GUI but then vanish when you press F5 and are still missing after a reboot. I have also tried to change the port (/r) to have "_1" (etc) on the end like the GUI would but this errors as the port doesn't exist. Is it possible to do this on Windows 7, and if so how?

I see a lot of things dealing with basic membership, but nothing that handles the subscription aspect (recurring billing, automated jobs for setting up billing, notification for billing, etc). This might be the one thing that keeps me from using ASP.NET MVC for my SaaS idea, since it would take a fair amount of development time to write my own; if I go with my other option, Ruby on Rails, I can buy a kit that does all of this for $250. I haven't found anything even remotely close to this for .NET - all of the SaaS sample apps I've seen are more like StackOverflow et all where you have one site that multiple people log on to, not the web application model where you have subscribers who are billed monthly, each of whom has users and other entities (e.g. Customers, Tasks, etc) for their own site. Is there anything similar for ASP.NET, or some kind of guidelines for writing my own if I have to, so I don't waste too much time? As a startup that means that I'm doing all the coding myself. I've found this, but it seems to only be for billing and didn't seem to have much (any?) documentation on exactly how to set it up.

  • Why does the installer freeze at the moving dots?

    I plan to install Ubuntu as the sole operating system on my old Dell Latitude 110L and the install freezes at the Ubuntu starting dots - it doesn't even get to the point where it asks if you want Ubuntu as the sole operating system. I've tried different USB sticks, and now two different CDs. I even re-formatted the C drive on the old Dell and re-installed a fresh copy of Windows in case there was any interfering junk. Still can't get past the dots. I've done this on other computers without a problem - any advice?
