With these awards we will recognize the partners who have specialized their business with Oracle and who are delivering real customer value. Partners who have achieved one or more Specializations in OPN are eligible to submit nominations to become a Partner of the Year for 2010. Our winners will gain valuable prestige and recognition, and will be awarded in a ceremony at Oracle OpenWorld on 19 September 2010. Bekannt gegeben wurde dies kürzlich auf der Location Intelligence and Oracle Spatial User Conference 2012 in Washington. Bei Oracle Spacial handelt es sich um eine besondere Option für die Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition. Sie bietet neuartige Möglichkeiten zur Unterstützung von räumlichen Applikationen, location-based Services und raumbezogenen Informationssystemen in Unternehmen. Konkret dient die Anwendung z. B. dazu, geographische Daten innerhalb der Datenbank zu managen.     Ab 1. November 2011 müssen VADs (Value Added Distributors) mit einer gültigen VAD-Vereinbarung für eine Spezialisierung nicht mehr die Kundenreferenz-Anforderungen erfüllen, die im Abschnitt zu den Geschäftskriterien aufgeführt sind. Die VADs müssen jedoch auch weiterhin alle Geschäfts- und Kompetenzkriterien in der entsprechenden Knowledge Zone erfüllen, bevor Ihre Spezialisierung anerkannt wird.

  • The newest OPN Competency Center (OPN CC) enhancements are now available

    The newest OPN Competency Center (OPN CC) enhancements are now available. This release is focused on a new look and simplified navigation, and Resell Competency Tracking functionality. Some of the key features released include: 1. New Look and Feel with Simplified Navigation Users are now one click away from the most valuable resources. Additionally, there are now focused areas which allow users to navigate more effectively. Users can review their individual achievements, create a dedicated Training Plan to broaden their knowledge, or use the new Company Corner to view their company’s achievements. Your view as an Oracle employee has been modified and the Company Corner will provide links to allow access to Partner Workgroups and other links specific to your partner data. 2. Resell Competency Tracker This new functionality has been created to allow partners to track their progress toward becoming Resell Authorized. The Resell Competency Tracker highlights those Knowledge Zones where additional requirements must be achieved prior to Distribution Rights being granted and allows the partners to track their progress. This tracker is available to all users badged to a company ID and also to Internal Oracle employees who have existing access to Partner Workgroups. 3. Enhanced Training Manager Functionality The existing Training Manager has been enhanced to allow partners to create Workgroups that are either focused on the competency requirements for becoming Specialized or the competency requirements needed to apply for resell authorization.     Den ersten Geburtstag konnte das neue Channel-Programm von Oracle ja bereits Anfang des Jahres feiern. Die Bilanz seitens Oracle ist positiv, doch was sagen die Partner dazu? Opitz Consulting ist einer der Vertriebspartner, die in Deutschland mit mindestens fünf Spezialisierungen das Platin-Level erreicht haben. Sich innerhalb eines Jahres in den Bereichen BI, Database, Enterprise Linux, Real Application Clusters und SOA zu spezialisieren, war keine Kinderspiel, verrät Michael Page, Prokurist bei Opitz Consulting in Interview mit "ChannelPartner": Etwa 15 Prozent seiner Arbeitszeit hat er 2010 darauf verwendet. Ob der nächste Schritt das Diamant-Level sein soll, ließ Page offen. Sicher ist jedoch, dass für den führenden Projektspezialisten im Java-, SOA- und Oracle Markt weitere Spezialisierungen anstehen, darunter Datenbank-Performance-Tuning, Virtualisierung und Data Warehouse. Auch Oracle selbst legt noch mal nach: Zu den 50 Spezialisierungen im OPN Programm werden bis Ende des Jahres weitere 20 hinzukommen, die das Programm für Branchen wie das Gesundheitswesen, Energieversorger oder Retail attraktiv machen sollen.
