  • Colliding network addresses

    - by joepd
A customer is using the same address space as the company network. I need to connect with Cisco VPN Client to the network of the customer, without affecting local connectivity. To keep all working, I connect from a VM to avoid network addressing collisions. This works, but I'm looking for a way to get rid of the VM. Is it possible to connect with Cisco VPN Client 4.8 from Windows 7, without changing the 'normal' routing? How to tell specific applications (most importantly: Putty, VNC, mstsc, psql) to resolve their routes to the VPN instead of the default network interface? Have been hearing about SOCKS-proxies, is that something that could be made to work? I fear that this is a a bit of a crude question, but I'd be happy to specify more details/context.

  • Centos IPTables - Allow Traffic for Multiple IP Addresses

    - by compcobalt
I know that: 211.95.79.186/24, it would allow 211.95.79.0 all the way up to 211.95.79.255. and 211.95.0.0/16, it would allow 211.95.0.0 all the way up to 211.95.255.255. and 192.168.1.30-50, it would allow 192.168.1.30 all the way up to 192.168.1.50 ?? <-- is that correct ? but how do I allow the following: 24.250.0.0 all the way up to 24.250.127.255 ? OR 119.165.128.0 all the way up to 119.165.255.255 ?

  • Best way to detect similar email addresses?

    - by Chris
    I have a list of ~20,000 email addresses, some of which I know to be fraudulent attempts to get around a "1 per e-mail" limit. ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc...). I want to find similar email addresses for evaluation. Currently I'm using a levenshtein algorithm to check each e-mail against the others in the list and report any with an edit distance of less than 2. However, this is painstakingly slow. Is there a more efficient approach? The test code I'm using now is: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.IO; using System.Threading; namespace LevenshteinAnalyzer { class Program { const string INPUT_FILE = @"C:\Input.txt"; const string OUTPUT_FILE = @"C:\Output.txt"; static void Main(string[] args) { var inputWords = File.ReadAllLines(INPUT_FILE); var outputWords = new SortedSet<string>(); for (var i = 0; i < inputWords.Length; i++) { if (i % 100 == 0) Console.WriteLine("Processing record #" + i); var word1 = inputWords[i].ToLower(); for (var n = i + 1; n < inputWords.Length; n++) { if (i == n) continue; var word2 = inputWords[n].ToLower(); if (word1 == word2) continue; if (outputWords.Contains(word1)) continue; if (outputWords.Contains(word2)) continue; var distance = LevenshteinAlgorithm.Compute(word1, word2); if (distance <= 2) { outputWords.Add(word1); outputWords.Add(word2); } } } File.WriteAllLines(OUTPUT_FILE, outputWords.ToArray()); Console.WriteLine("Found {0} words", outputWords.Count); } } }

  • Setting up App Engine to receive email addresses with ids in the address

    - by Mark M
I am writing an App Engine app that is supposed to receive emails in this form: [email protected] (someID is an alphanumeric ID that I generate). I have this in my web.xml thinking it would catch emails that start with 'addcontact.': <servlet> <servlet-name>addNewContactServlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>com.mycompany.server.AddNewContactServlet</servlet- class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>addNewContactServlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/_ah/mail/addcontact.*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> However, both on my dev machine and on google's servers email is not received. On the dev machine I get this message (I get a similar error in the deployed log) Message send failure HTTP ERROR 404 Problem accessing /_ah/mail/ [email protected]. Reason: NOT_FOUND I can receive email at fully specified addresses or when I use /_ah/mail/* The google documentation made me believe it was possible to include partial email addresses in web.xml. Am I not using the wildcard correctly? Does the period have something to do with it? Can this be done somehow?

  • Get the MAC addresses of all the machines connected to a LAN when NO machines have got an IP address yet

    - by JtheRocker
Here is the real scenario. I have say 4 machines not having any IP address yet connected to a switch. In one of the machines (OS=CentOS), I would install a DHCP server and would provide the other machines IP addresses. Prior to assigning them IP addresses, I need to get the MAC address of each of the machines that I would assign IP addresses to. So, my question here is how to I get the MAC addresses of all the machines connected to a switch when NO machine has got any IP address yet? It's mandatory for my use case that I won't be having any IP addresses before the MAC addresses. -Thanks

  • Fast file search algorithm for IP addresses

    - by Dave Jarvis
Question What is the fastest way to find if an IP address exists in a file that contains IP addresses sorted as: 219.93.88.62 219.94.181.87 219.94.193.96 220.1.72.201 220.110.162.50 220.126.52.187 220.126.52.247 Constraints No database (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.). Infrequent pre-processing is allowed (see possibilities section) Would be nice not to have to load the file each query (131Kb) Uses under 5 megabytes of disk space File Details One IP address per line 9500+ lines Possible Solutions Create a directory hierarchy (radix tree?) then use is_dir() (sadly, this uses 87 megabytes)

  • Scrubbing IPv4 dotted-quad addresses in SQL

    - by pilcrow
Given a table containing dotted quad IPv4 addresses stored as a VARCHAR(15), for example: ipv4 -------------- 172.16.1.100 172.16.50.5 172.30.29.28 what's a convenient way to SELECT all "ipv4" fields with the final two octets scrubbed, so that the above would become: ipv4 ------------ 172.16.x.y 172.16.x.y 172.30.x.y Target RDBMS is postgresql 8.4, but the more portable the better! Thanks.

  • Processing incorrect mac addresses from 802.11 frames with pcap

    - by Quentin Swain
    I'm working throurgh a project with pcap and wireless. Following an example posted in response to oe of my earlier questions I am trying to extract the mac addresses from wireless frames. I have created structures for the radiotap header and a basic management frame. For some reason when it comes to trying to output the mac addresses I am printing out the wrong data. When I compare to wireshark I don't see why the radio tap data is printing out correctly but the mac addresses are not. I don't see any additional padding in the hex dump that wireshark displays when i look at the packets and compare the packets that I have captured. I am somewhat famialar with c but not an expert so maybe I am not using the pointers and structures properly could someone help show me what I am doing wrong? Thanks, Quentin // main.c // MacSniffer // #include <pcap.h> #include <string.h> #include <stdlib.h> #define MAXBYTES2CAPTURE 65535 #ifdef WORDS_BIGENDIAN typedef struct frame_control { unsigned int subtype:4; /*frame subtype field*/ unsigned int protoVer:2; /*frame type field*/ unsigned int version:2; /*protocol version*/ unsigned int order:1; unsigned int protected:1; unsigned int moreDate:1; unsigned int power_management:1; unsigned int retry:1; unsigned int moreFrag:1; unsigned int fromDS:1; unsigned int toDS:1; }frame_control; struct ieee80211_radiotap_header{ u_int8_t it_version; u_int8_t it_pad; u_int16_t it_len; u_int32_t it_present; u_int64_t MAC_timestamp; u_int8_t flags; u_int8_t dataRate; u_int16_t channelfrequency; u_int16_t channFreq_pad; u_int16_t channelType; u_int16_t channType_pad; u_int8_t ssiSignal; u_int8_t ssiNoise; u_int8_t antenna; }; #else typedef struct frame_control { unsigned int protoVer:2; /* protocol version*/ unsigned int type:2; /*frame type field (Management,Control,Data)*/ unsigned int subtype:4; /* frame subtype*/ unsigned int toDS:1; /* frame coming from Distribution system */ unsigned int fromDS:1; /*frame coming from Distribution system */ unsigned int moreFrag:1; /* More fragments?*/ unsigned int retry:1; /*was this frame retransmitted*/ unsigned int powMgt:1; /*Power Management*/ unsigned int moreDate:1; /*More Date*/ unsigned int protectedData:1; /*Protected Data*/ unsigned int order:1; /*Order*/ }frame_control; struct ieee80211_radiotap_header{ u_int8_t it_version; u_int8_t it_pad; u_int16_t it_len; u_int32_t it_present; u_int64_t MAC_timestamp; u_int8_t flags; u_int8_t dataRate; u_int16_t channelfrequency; u_int16_t channelType; int ssiSignal:8; int ssiNoise:8; }; #endif struct wi_frame { u_int16_t fc; u_int16_t wi_duration; u_int8_t wi_add1[6]; u_int8_t wi_add2[6]; u_int8_t wi_add3[6]; u_int16_t wi_sequenceControl; // u_int8_t wi_add4[6]; //unsigned int qosControl:2; //unsigned int frameBody[23124]; }; void processPacket(u_char *arg, const struct pcap_pkthdr* pkthdr, const u_char* packet) { int i= 0, *counter = (int *) arg; struct ieee80211_radiotap_header *rh =(struct ieee80211_radiotap_header *)packet; struct wi_frame *fr= (struct wi_frame *)(packet + rh->it_len); u_char *ptr; //printf("Frame Type: %d",fr->wi_fC->type); printf("Packet count: %d\n", ++(*counter)); printf("Received Packet Size: %d\n", pkthdr->len); if(rh->it_version != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Version: %d\n",rh->it_version); } if(rh->it_pad!=NULL) { printf("Radiotap Pad: %d\n",rh->it_pad); } if(rh->it_len != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Length: %d\n",rh->it_len); } if(rh->it_present != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Present: %c\n",rh->it_present); } if(rh->MAC_timestamp != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Timestamp: %u\n",rh->MAC_timestamp); } if(rh->dataRate != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Data Rate: %u\n",rh->dataRate); } if(rh->channelfrequency != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Channel Freq: %u\n",rh->channelfrequency); } if(rh->channelType != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Channel Type: %06x\n",rh->channelType); } if(rh->ssiSignal != NULL) { printf("Radiotap SSI signal: %d\n",rh->ssiSignal); } if(rh->ssiNoise != NULL) { printf("Radiotap SSI Noise: %d\n",rh->ssiNoise); } ptr = fr->wi_add1; int k= 6; printf("Destination Address:"); do{ printf("%s%X",(k==6)?"   • finding distance between two UK addresses

    - by effkay
Hello; I need to write an application which is to calculate the estimated driving distance between two UK addresses; I think I can use Google as following: http://maps.google.com/maps/nav?q=from:London%20to:Dover However, anyone knows what is the daily/monthly limit of querying the database from a single IP address? I need to implement in a commercial application (freight services), is there any reliable alternative? Development language/platform: C#, .NET Regards,

  • Looking for regex to extract email addresses from /etc/passwd

    - by Brent
Most of my users have email addresses associated with their profile in /etc/passwd. They are always in the 5th field, which I can grab, but they appear at different places within a comma-separated list in the 5th field. Can somebody give me a regex to grab just the email address (delimeted by commas) from a line in this file? (I will be using grep and sed from a bash script) Sample lines from file: user1:x:1147:5005:User One,Department,,,[email protected]:/home/directory:/bin/bash user2:x:1148:5002:User Two,Department2,[email protected],:/home/directory:/bin/bash

  • Gathering mac addresses with Python

    - by William
Hi, is there a good way to gather the mac addresses of machines on a local network using Python. If it helps I'm trying to execute this python script from the DHCP server for the network. I'm new to Python but would it be a bad idea to look at the DHCP leases file for this info? I'd like to use this inside a Django app eventually. Thanks.

  • Is stack address shared by Heap addresses ??

    - by numerical25
I read On most operating systems, the addresses in memory starts from highest to lowest. So I am wondering if the heap, stack, and global memory all fall under the same ordering..? If I created... pointerType* pointer = new pointerType //creates memory address 0xffffff And then created a local varible on the stack localObject object would localObjects address be 0xfffffe Or is heap and stack ordering completely different.

  • Can't send e-mail to hotmail addresses

    - by FinalFrag
I recently did a mailing to a lot of hotmail addresses and now all the e-mails I send out (from PHP by the way) don't seem to reach their destination. So I figure hotmail banned my url... Is there any way to get rid of this ban so my e-mails will reach the users again (like activation e-mails etc)?

  • Regular expression that matches valid IPv6 addresses

    - by Readonly
I'm having trouble writing a regular expression that matches valid IPv6 addresses, including those in their compressed form (with "::" or leading zeros omitted from each byte pair). Can someone suggest a regular expression that would fulfill the requirement? I'm considering expanding each byte pair and matching the result with a simpler regex.

  • Can I use IP addresses to limit API access

    - by ed209
I have a mini API that is only for an app I have built. The API service is on a separate domain to my app. I make jsonp calls to it and receive json in return. Therefore I only want my app to be able to access it. Can I just list a series of IP addresses for my app and allow them? Is there a better way to stop requests from anyone else to my API?

  • Does this e-mail-regex exclude valid addresses?

    - by neo
I tried to create a regular expression which catches all RFC-valid addresses but it's ok if some false-positives come through (though hopefully not so many). This is waht I came up so far: /^\b\S+@\S+\.[^\s@]{2,}\b$/ Is there any RFC-valid address which doesn't match against this expression or do you have any suggestions to improve it? I don't mind the false positives but I would be glad if you show me a few, too.

  • How does the same origin policy apply to IP addresses

    - by recipriversexclusion
I have a server on our company intranet that runs JBoss. I want to send API calls to this server from my machine, also on the intranet, and get the resulting XML responses using JQuery. I read the entry on Wikipedia but am confused how that applies to my situation, since our machines only have IP addresses, not domain names. I have server URL: 10.2.200.3:8001/serviceroot/service client IP address: 10.2.201.217 My questions are: As far as I understand these are different domains, right? So I have to use a proxy to issue JQuery.ajax calls to the server If I want to avoid doing (2), can I install Apache on the server and server the page with JS code form there? But then the JS will be from 10.2.200.3 and the server is at 10.2.200.3:8001. Aren't these considered different domains according to policy? Thanks!

  • Java: Parse Australian Street Addresses

    - by bguiz
Looking for a quick and dirty way to parse Australian street addresses into its parts: 3A/45 Jindabyne Rd, Oakleigh, VIC 3166 should split into: "3A", 45, "Jindabyne Rd" "Oakleigh", "VIC", 3166 Suburb names can have multiple words, as can street names. See: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1739746/parse-a-steet-address-into-components Has to be in Java, cannot make http requests (e.g. to web APIs). EDIT: Assume that format specified is always followed. I have no issue with spitting incorrectly formatted strings back at the user with a message telling them to follow the format (which I've described above).

  • Geocoding non-addresses: Geopy

    - by Phil Donovan
Using geopy to geocode alcohol outlets in NZ. The problem I have is that some places do not have street addresses but are places in Google Maps. For example, plugging: Furneaux Lodge, Endeavour Inlet, Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough 7250 into Google Maps via the browser GUI gives me However, using that in Geopy I get a GQueryError saying this geographic location does not exist. Here is the code for geocoding: def GeoCode(address): g=geocoders.Google(domain="maps.google.co.nz") geoloc = g.geocode(address, exactly_one=False) place, (lat, lng) = geoloc[0] GeoOut = [] GeoOut.extend([place, lat, lng]) return GeoOut GeoCode("Furneaux Lodge, Endeavour Inlet, Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlboroguh 7250") Meanwhile, I notice that "Eiffel Tower" works fine. Is there away to solve this and can someone explain the difference between The Eiffel Tower and Furneaux Lodge within Google 'locations'?
