• Cannot remove git repository completely

  I have been using git on windows-msysgit. Whenever I try to remove a repository completely either using explorer or using $ git rm -rf ptp/ fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git it errors out "The data present in the reparse point buffer is invalid" or the fatal error above. What's wrong with me/git? Thanks in advance

The application consist in writing the client and the server can read, and if the server write the client can read the message. I tried to do this, but I can't achieve the communication between client and server.   I'm attempting to use a Model but I get a fatal error so I assume it doesn't autoload properly. ErrorException [ Fatal Error ]: Class 'Properties_Model' not found The offending controller line: $properties = new Properties_Model; The model: class Properties_Model extends Model { public function _construct() { parent::_construct(); } } I also put the class in three different locations hoping one would work, all there failed.   I am new to Git hub and was able to successfully create an ssh key and upload it to the website however when I type in git push origin master I receive the following error: error: cannot run ssh: no such file or directory fatal: unable to fork I am using Cygwin on a windows Vista machine if that is also useful.   I'm trying to run an instance of Pentaho's bi-server-ce on a freshly installed CentOS 6.2 using PostgreSQL 8.4.x. I've installed a JDK 1.6 instance and it is working. Also I've a tomcat 6.0.35 instance where I run a few apps. I'd like bi-server to be one of many apps I run on this tomcat. Regarding Pentaho's Bi-Server installation I'm following the guide from https://docs.google.com/document/edit?id=1OnvHYsa-nYgwP8bjqRqjP5Vy-gLI5xomOHZtOvA00Ns#bookmark=id.2d95068df264 I've adapted the steps to my local installation, but still I can't start the server.   Background I'm troubleshooting an WinForms 2.0 program that's already been burned to CD for distribution to an internet-challenged target audience. Some users are experiencing a fatal error that I can reproduce locally. Reproducing the Error I get the fatal error when I log into my Vista box using a standard user that I just created, even if I run the program as administrator. I do not get the fatal error when I log in as local administrator. I'm not sure that being administrator is necessarily the trigger (since runas did not help). I have reproduced this half a dozen times under each account with consistent results. When logged in as my test standard user, ApplySkin is always called a second time while skin is still null, causing a second attempt to load, causing the file to be locked on the second attempt. The error handling is draconian at this point and the program terminates. The Question While this code can be easily fixed, I would like to understand why the error is happening only in some cases.

I found out that other people have had the same problem. The problem seems to be related to /etc/xinet.d/. Problem: unable to push my local branch to my master branch at Github I run git push origin master I get fatal: 'origin' does not appear to be a git repository fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly The error message suggests me that the branch 'origin' is not in my local git repository. This way, Git stops connecting to Github. This is strange, since I have not removed the branch 'origin'. My git tree is dev * master ticgit remotes/Math/Math remotes/Math/master remotes/origin/master remotes/Masi/master How can you push your local branch to Github, while you have a teamMate's branch in your local Git? VonC's answer solves the main problem. I put a passphares to my ssh keys. I run $git push github master I get Permission denied (publickey). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly It seems that I need to give the passphrase for Git somehow. How can you make Git to ask passphares?

I should note the remote git version is 1.5.6.5 while local is 1.6.0.4 I tried cloning my local copy of the repo, stripping out the .git folder and pushing to a new repo, then cloning the new repo and I get the same error, which leads me to believe it may be a file in the repo that's causing git-upload-pack to fail... Edit: I have a number of windows binaries in the repo, because I just built the python modules and then stuck them in there so everyone else didn't have to build them as well. If I remove the windows binaries and push to a new repo, I can clone again, perhaps that gives a clue. Trying to narrow down exactly what file is causing the problem now.

  Hi All, A friend of mine and I have been trying to use git for a project. It is hosted on his server, and I git clone it as: git clone [email protected]:/path/to/git/repos.git Pretty standard stuff, and it works great for a while. But every time one of us has added a large commit (which git supposedly handles very well), of the order of 100MB or so, the git repository gets kind of broken. Basically, at this point I will be able to push new changes and pull other changes (I think), but when I try to clone the repository in a fresh location using that command above, I get an error message that says: $git clone [email protected]:/path/to/git/repos.git Initialized empty Git repository in /local/path/to/repos/.git/ remote: Counting objects: 1455, done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (1235/1235), done. error: git upload-pack: git-pack-objects died with error.s fatal: git upload-pack: aborting due to possible repository corruption on the remote side. remote: aborting due to possible repository corruption on the remote side. fatal: early EOF fatal: index-pack failed This has happened 3 or 4 times now, and it's always when I add a large commit.   My Qt application uses Q_ASSERT_X, which calls qFatal(), which (by default) aborts the application. That's great for the application, but I'd like to suppress that behavior when unit testing the application. (I'm using the Google Test Framework.) I have by unit tests in a separate project, statically linking to the class I'm testing. The documentation for qFatal() reads: Calls the message handler with the fatal message msg. If no message handler has been installed, the message is printed to stderr. Under Windows, the message is sent to the debugger. If you are using the default message handler this function will abort on Unix systems to create a core dump. On Windows, for debug builds, this function will report a _CRT_ERROR enabling you to connect a debugger to the application. ... • No GUI after upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10 (boots to command line)

  I have just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 (network upgrade using the update manager, from 9.04 which had different graphics related problems) and when I try to boot into it all I get a small Ubuntu logo, flickering text and then the tty1 command line with a logon prompt. startx gives following error: Fatal server error: no screens found I traced down a tutorial that said I needed the latest graphics drivers (Gigabyte ATI Radeon 4650 HD installed with 9.10 catalyst drivers) so I did using the 'sh' command and a USB stick (I have a working Windows partition) and it installed fine but did not fix the problem. Edit: Thanks to UK and Arjan van Bentem below I was able to understand the full error message of start x: Parse error on lone 2 of /etc/X11/xorg.conf 'nameserver' is not a valid keyword in this section Fatal server error: no screens found This has nothing to do with a graphical error (sorry if I misled anyone) but the xorg.conf file has 3 lines in it and lines 2-3 have an entry 'nameserver'. Using the nano command I commented out (using a # before the entries) the nameservers and can now boot Ubuntu. Thanks to everyone for their help.

  I am trying to implement hot backup for MyIsam tables with "percona-xtrabackup-2.0.0" and getting the following error? As the all tables are MyIsam I doubt am I using the correct package ?
