    I have an HTML form that needs multiple submit buttons, like this: <input type="submit" name="foo" value="1"/> <input type="submit" name="foo" value="2"/> <input type="submit" name="foo" value="3"/> The problem is that I want it to display on the button something other than what is in the value attribute (in the example above: 1, 2, 3). For example, I want to show "Bar" for the button with value="1". Is this possible? I've considered using the <button> tag, like this: <button name="foo" value="1">Bar</button> The problem with using <button> (from w3schools): If you use the element in an HTML form, different browsers may submit different values. Internet Explorer, prior version 9, will submit the text between the and tags, while other browsers will submit the content of the value attribute. Use the element to create buttons in an HTML form. Thoughts?

    My Google-fu has failed me. In Python, are these: n = 5 # Test one. if n == 5: print 'Yay!' # Test two. if n is 5: print 'Yay!' two tests for equality equivalent (ha!)? Does this hold true for objects where you would be comparing instances (a list say)? Okay, so this kind of answers my question: l = list() l.append(1) if l == [1]: print 'Yay!' # Holds true, but... if l is [1]: print 'Yay!' # Doesn't. So == tests value where is tests to see if they are the same object?

    Hello, In MySQL I have a table called "meanings" with three columns: "person" (int), "word" (byte, 16 possible values) "meaning" (byte, 26 possible values). A person assigns one or more meanings to each word: person word meaning ------------------- 1 1 4 1 2 19 1 2 7 <-- second meaning for word 2 1 3 5 ... 1 16 2 Then another person, and so on. There will be thousands of persons. I need to find for each of the 16 words the top three meanings (with their frequencies). Something like: word 1: meaning 5 (35% of people), meaning 19 (22% of people), meaning 2 (13% of people) word 2: meaning 8 (57%), meaning 1 (18%), meaning 22 (7%) ... Is it possible to solve this with a single MySQL query? (If this problem is a classic one and has been answered elsewhere, I would appreciate if you could give me a link to the solution.)     I scheduled a task to perform a windows backup of a single disk on the my server.  When I tested it, the task ran successfully – no problems, no errors; just as I expected.    However, when the task ran as scheduled, it failed with error value 2147943645.  I wondered was this the answer to life, the universe and everything in it?  No.  That is 42.    After doing some research and reviewing the task configuration, I realize that the task will only run if the user of logged on:   So, this was the answer!!  I have to configure the task to run whether the user is logged or not.  Or, else I’ll get that nasty error value.

    If a programmer contacts you and asks to contribute to your project, how do you handle it? You don't know if this guy is any good. Perhaps he'll be more trouble than he's worth. He might be trying to attach his name to a successful project just for the kudos. He might be trying to take the project in a direction you don't really want, adding features you think aren't worth the extra complexity. Or, he might be a very useful contributor. You just don't know. How do you handle such requests from people you don't know (On GitHub, specifically, if that makes any difference)? What's the etiquette here?

    What is the real meaning of the "Select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use" dialog under Control Panel-Regional Settings-Advanced in WinXP and Win2003? According to the dialog text, Windows will use this to display the resource strings such as menus. The treatment of text files is application-specific, so this setting will not affect that. But can I expect any other change in behavior from this setting? Any insights into what is really going wrong?

    I am using Windows 7 Media Center with a digital TV tuner. If I am watching live TV and then use the mouse to bring up the control buttons at the bottom of the screen and press the record button once, then a single red circle 'recording' icon appears at the left side of the time slider. If I press the record button a second time, the 'recording' icon changes to a red circle with several shadowed circles fading off to the right. Pressing the record button a third time halts the recording. What is the meaning of the two different 'recording' icons?

  • Semantic stuff (RDF, OWL) on mobile phones - is it possible?

    I'm thinking about using semantic (web) technogies like RDF and OWL in an application on mobile devices. Currently I'm targeting android, but I'd also be interested in the possibilities on the iPhone and on J2ME. I would like to use a lib instead of implementing everything from scratch. I know that there are some libraries and frameworks like Jena, Redland, Protégé but they don't state on which platforms they are known to work. Having a dynamic object model and parsing from and to XML are must-haves for me. I'd also like to use reasoning, but I've been told it was rather computing-intensive, so that's only a nice-to-have. For all platforms mentioned, the question can be interpreted as Is it possible in theory (especially for J2ME I'm not sure) Are there libs that are known to work on those platforms? Is the performance on a mobile platform good enough for real world usage?
