• Help setup my .git/config file for Heroku AND my Unfuddle Account

  Ok, I have three different computers that I work from and right now their configurations are all different so I have to push/pull a certain on each and its very bothersome. What I want to do is have ONE config file that I can use for all three that will allow me to do the following: git push unfuddle git pull heroku git push unfuddle git pull heroku And I'm new to git, so I know that maybe I need heroku master or 'heroku origin` or somethign? Here is what my config file looks like right now: [core] repositoryformatversion = 0 filemode = true bare = false logallrefupdates = true [remote "origin"] fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/* url = [email protected]:HEROKU-APP.git [branch "master"] remote = origin merge = refs/heads/master [remote "unfuddle"] fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/* url = [email protected]:UNFUDDLE-APP/UNFUDDLE-APP.git obviously the git urls were changed to protect the innocent. What should I change so that I can easily push and pull to/from both of these repos? Thanks!

  So I am not much of a source control expert, I've used SVN for projects in the past. I have to use Git for a particular project (client supplied Git repo). My workflow is as such that I will be working on the files from two different computers, and often I need to check in changes that are unstable when I move from place to place so I can continue my work. What then occurs is when, say, the client goes to get the latest version, they will also download the unstable code. In SVN, you can address this by creating a trunk and use working branches, or use the trunk as the working version and create stable branches. What is the equivalent concept in Git, and is there a simple way to do this via Github?

  I'm learning to use raw sockets, and im trying to prase out the tcp header data, but i can't seem to figure out what res1, ece, and cwr are. Through my networking book and google i know what the rest stand for, but can't seem to find anything on those three. Below is the tcphdr struct in my includes area. • Help using RDA on a Desktop Applicaton?

  I have a .NET 3.5 Compact Framework project that uses RDA for moving data between its mobile device's local SqlCe database and a remote MSSql-2008 server(it uses RDA Push and Pull). The server machine a virtual directory with sqlcesa35.dll (v3.5.5386.0) setup for RDA. We usually install these cabs on the mobile devices and the RDA process does not have any problems: sqlce.wce5.armv4i.cab sqlce.repl.wce5.armv4i.cab Now I am trying to run this application as a desktop application. RDA Pull (download) has been working well. But the RDA Push (upload) is giving me some problems. This is the exception that I get on the desktop application when I try to use RDA Push: System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException The Client Agent and Server Agent component versions are incompatible. The compatible versions are: Client Agent versions 3.0 and 3.5 with Server Agent versions 3.5 and Client Agent version 3.5 with Server Agent version 3.5. Re-install the replication components with the matching versions for client and server agents. [ 35,30,Client Agent version = ,Server Agent version = ] I have tried copying the file C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5\Desktop\SqlServerCe.dll (v3.5.5692.0) to bin\debug I have also tried copying another version of SqlServerCe.dll (v3.0.5206.0) to bin\debug. But this just gives me a slightly different exception: System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException [ 35,30 ] Is there a different setup or any different dlls that I need to use? Thanks, -Joel

I'd like to be able to pass in a collection of models or view-models (e.g., IQueryable<MyViewModel>) and get back an HTML table that uses the DisplayName attribute for the headings (th elements) and Html.Display(propertyName) for the cells (td elements). Each row should correspond to one item in the collection. • Need help finding a good curriculum/methodology for self-teaching to program from scratch

  My friend and I have both dedicated ourselves to learning the essentials of programming by June of this year from nearly no programming experience. I have done some research and have come to the conclusion that using the Python language will be the best for us, but I am open to suggestions with good reasoning behind them. My motives for learning programming are: Potential Career Path to be able to create programs that can: solve problems; entertain, i.e. useful applications and games. Online college lectures + book (which I am willing to purchase) sounds like a good combination, but I do not know which would be most suitable for me. tl;dr: What I would like to find from the excellent people here is the following: a good, potentially best, programming course and/or book that is well structured and uses good pedagogy so that a person dedicated to learn programming may do so by following its curriculum (or use it to develop a curriculum) over the course of a few months. Thanks! (I apologize if this type of question is not considered proper etiquette, but I haven't found a consensus on this, and would like some guidance beyond the research I've already done)

  I am going to write a small software to track active directory changes. I need an expert opinion from you. I want to display information about What ( with before and after values), When, Where and Who of any change in AD. I am going to implement this by one of the following way 1. Change Notification Control 2. DirSync Control Both of these method give us the attribute that are changed and we can compare new values with some dump in SQL Server to get old values. My problem is how can I find “Who” has made this change. I have tried but there is no attribute “LastModifiedBy” in active directory.   Hey, I've been working on a Cook Book App but each view ( or recipie page) takes about 45 minutes to complete so as you can imagine its taking forever. The problem is that I have to manually: Set up a gradient image for the back ground (Somtimes I have to add a few image backgrounds to fit the view as I often use a scroll view, not sure how this could be automated?) Put an image behind the titles "Recipe name" , "Time needed" and an image to go behind the recipie instructions ( again I might need a few of these depending on how long the description is. Creating view controllers for main sections such as "Breakfast" and "Lunch" and then I need to manually create view controllers to go in these sections. Theres got to be a way to set up a template for this? Thanks for reading all of this.

• Help on understanding multiple columns on an index?

  Assume I have a table called "table" and I have 3 columns, a, b, and c. What does it mean to have a non-clustered index on columns a,b? Is a nonclustered index on columns a,b the same as a nonclustered index on columns b,a? (Note the order). Also, Is a nonclustered index on column a the same as a nonclustered index on a,c? I was looking at the website sqlserver performance and they had these dmv scripts where it would tell you if you had overlapping indexes and I believe it was saying that having an index on a is the same as a,b, so it is redundant. Is this true about indexes? One last question is why is the clustered index put on the primary key. Most of the time the primary key is not queried against, so shouldn't the clustered index be on the most queried column. I am probably missing something here like having it on the primary key speeds up joins? Great explanations. Should I turn this into a wiki and change the title index explanation?

When i put the code in a seperate python script it works fine and the information is being passed to the python script becuase i can print the query. These are my tables. student table: SID (primary) student_name advisor (foreign key to faculty.facultyID) requested_advisor (foreign key to faculty.facultyID) faculty table: facultyID (primary key) advisor_name I want to query a table that shows everything in the student table, but I want advisor and requested_advisor to show up as names, not the ID numbers. so like it displays like this on the webpage: Student Name: Jane Smith SID: 860123456 Current Advisor: John Smith Requested advisor: James Smith not like this Student Name: Jane Smith SID: 860123456 Current Advisor: 1 Requested advisor: 2 SELECT student.student_name, SID, student_email, faculty.advisor_name FROM student INNER JOIN faculty ON student.advisor = faculty.facultyID; this comes out close, but I don't know how to get the requested_advisor to show up as a name.
