Passthru None (Default) Here's the code using System.IO.Ports; private SerialPort port; port = new SerialPort("COM2", 9600, Parity.None, 8, StopBits.One); port.Handshake = Handshake.None; Port.WriteLine("Welocome to something something"); It has 2 lines consisting of 20 characters each with a total of 40 characters. I have no control how and where the characters get displayed. I have set it to accept ASCII char set and so I am able to type as is visble in the Writeline message

  • Please help with passing multidimensional arrays

    Hi, I'm writing a simple test program to pass multidimensional arrays. I've been struggling to get the signature of the callee function. void p(int (*s)[100], int n) { ... } In the code I have: int s1[10][100], s2[10][1000]; p(s1, 100); This code appears to work, but it's not what I intended. I want to the function p to be oblivious whether the range of values is 100 or 1000, but it should know there are 10 pointers. I tried as a first attempt: void p(int (*s)[10], int n) // n = # elements in the range of the array and also: void p(int **s, int n) // n = # of elements in the range of the array But to no avail can I seem to get this correct. I don't want to hardcode the 100 or 1000, but instead pass it in, but there will always be 10 arrays. Obviously, I want to avoid having to declare the function: void p(int *s1, int *s2, int *s3, ..., int *s10, int n) FYI, I'm looking at the answers to a similar question but still confused.

    I have a cookie which stores info in an array. This is for a classifieds website, and whenever users delete their 'ads' the cookie must also be removed of the ad which was deleted. I think its a problem with the unset part... Also, keep in mind if there is only one value inside the array, what will happen then? Thanks

    Hi, I have a document.onclick function that I would like to have a delay. TIA Edit: The solutions were all good, my problem was that I use the function check to obtain the id of the element being clicked on. But after the delay, there is no "memory" of what was being clicked on, so the rest of the function does not get executed. Jimr wrote the short code to preserve clicked event.     I've got a stored procedure with a select statement, like this: `SELECT author_ID, author_name, author_bio FROM Authors WHERE author_ID in (SELECT author_ID from Books) ` This limits results to authors who have book records. This is the Books table: Books book_ID INT author_ID INT book_title NVARCHAR featured_book BIT What I want to do is conditionally select the ID of the featured book by each author as part of the select statement above, and if none of the books for a given author are featured, select the ID of the first (top 1) book by the author from the books table. How do I approach this?

    There was this old sql server tool called Lectoneth or something like that, you'd put sql queries in it, and it would rewrite it for you.     I want to use this function to get contours and within these contours, I want to get cubic bezier. I think I have to call it with GGO_BEZIER. What puzzles me is how the return buffer works. "A glyph outline is returned as a series of one or more contours defined by a TTPOLYGONHEADER structure followed by one or more curves. Each curve in the contour is defined by a TTPOLYCURVE structure followed by a number of POINTFX data points. POINTFX points are absolute positions, not relative moves. The starting point of a contour is given by the pfxStart member of the TTPOLYGONHEADER structure. The starting point of each curve is the last point of the previous curve or the starting point of the contour. The count of data points in a curve is stored in the cpfx member of TTPOLYCURVE structure. The size of each contour in the buffer, in bytes, is stored in the cb member of TTPOLYGONHEADER structure. Additional curve definitions are packed into the buffer following preceding curves and additional contours are packed into the buffer following preceding contours. The buffer contains as many contours as fit within the buffer returned by GetGlyphOutline." I'm really not sure how to access the contours. I know that I can change a pointer another type of pointer but i'm not sure how I go about getting the contours based on this documentation. Thanks

I can get the tooltip to appear correctly but for some reason, is not appearing below but to the right of my hover image. Could anyone pls assist as to how to get it to appear below my image and NOT the right? FYI, my image is currently set at the top right of my web page. Thanks.

  • Delphi - Help calling threaded dll function from another thread

    I'm using Delphi 2006 and have a bit of a problem with an application I'm developing. I have a form that creates a thread which calls a function that performs a lengthy operation, lets call it LengthyProcess. Inside the LengthyProcess function we also call several Dll functions which also create threads of their own. The problem that I am having is that if I don't use the Synchronize function of my thread to call LengthyProcess the thread stops responding (the main thread is still responding fine). I don't want to use Synchronize because that means the main thread is waiting for LengthyProcess to finish and therefore defeats the purpose of creating a separate thread. I have tracked the problem down to a function inside the dll that creates a thread and then calls WaitFor, this is all done using TThread by the way. WaitFor checks to see if the CurrentThreadID is equal to the MainThreadID and if it is then it will call CheckSychronization, and all is fine. So if we use Synchronize then the CurrentThreadID will equal the MainThreadID however if we do not use Synchronize then of course CurrentThreadID < MainThreadID, and when this happens WaitFor tells the current thread (the thread I created) to wait for the thread created by the DLL and so CheckSynchronization never gets called and my thread ends up waiting forever for the thread created in the dll. I hope this makes sense, sorry I don't know any better way to explain it. Has anyone else had this issue and knows how to solve it please?

    Hy I am a uber nube to jquery my question is like this: if I have multiple toggle on same page and the div I`m toggleing must be desplayed in the same div.     I have a code to concatenate strings. However, for some reason, the final string is not a combination of the required strings. Consider the following code : //cusEmail is of type String[] String toList = ""; for(i=0; i < cusEmail.length - 1; i++) { toList.concat(cusEmail[i]); toList.concat("; "); System.out.println(cusEmail[i]); } toList.concat(cusEmail[i]); System.out.println(toList); The first sout statement displays the strings in cusEmail[i] correctly. However, once concatenated, the second sout displays a blank / empty. Any reason for this? Am i concatenating it correctly?

I find it very annoying that it doesn't show what superclass the class (being described) extends or what interfaces it implements. Is there a way to make eclipse show the additional information?

    I have been banging my head with this one more the two weeks, and still don't know what the problem is ( I can't narrow it down). The problem is the following. I have a solution with 3 project in it all written in c# and I with LINQ. One project is the main web site, the other is the data layer (communication with the database) and the third one is a custom little CMS. The problem is the following: On a hosting provider when I publish the site it all works perfectly, but this site was needed to be hosted on the client server so I needed to do that. But the problem is that I also needed to configure the client server, because they don't have an Administrator employed (I know, I know ;) ). For the first time I some how managed, to set it up but a problem appear. My main web site is working just as it suppose to be - it reads (communicates with) the database, but My CMS is not. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. So far I have tried the following: -setting time out on connection string to a higher value -configuration and after that turning off server firewall -checking the connection string over and over again (they are the same for all three projects and are saved in web.config) Important notes: I have tried executing the project from VS2008 with a connection string to the same database and the results are the same. That's why I think the problem is the SQL Server 2005 and not the IIS7. Any bit of information is more then welcomed.
