• Reading bytes from a text file that has the form of machine code in C?

  I have a text file with machine code in this form: B2 0A 05 B2 1A 01 B3 08 00 17 B2 09 18 where an instruction has this format: OP Mode Operand Note: Operand could be 1 or 2 bytes. Where:(example) OP = B2 Mode = 0A Operand = 05 How can I read the bytes in a variable? As shown in the above example. When i read the file I get individual characters. I have an array of pointers where I read individual line, but still cannot solve the problem of reading a byte. Any ideas,suggestions. I hope I am not confusing anyone here. Thank you.

  I have a strange layout for an ItemsControl. I have a 4x6 grid with the following pattern: 1 2 3 4 13 14 15 16 5 6 7 8 17 18 19 20 9 10 11 12 21 22 23 24 Is there an easy way to do this? should I be using 6 Items Controls and take "sections" of my list? is there a good way to do this? What about notification? It's important to note that I may, or may not, have all 24 entries present, but the layout needs to be maintained (think of it like filled slots on a bingo card or something)

But on button there is no image shown. What am I doing wrong ?   Lets say I have a 7 by 7 neighborhood around a pixel that looks like this 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 and I wanna filter the above by replacing the pixel p by the average of those pixels whose value lie in the range -10<=p_value <=10. I am new to image processing and I think in this case p_value is 25 and around 25 that are many pixel values in that range but don't exactly know to construct a convolution filter out of it.

  Although I try to distance myself from web-oriented work nowadays (unless I need the money) I've received a number of emails from clients wishing for me to help design and develop online solutions for adult websites. Hell, when I was 17 I was asked to help design an adult website that I would not legally be able to view. After talking to a few Software Engineers and Flash Developers I have heard that there is a lot of interesting work in the adult industry for those who like to work with new technologies. Have any of you worked for a company dealing with adult/pornographic content? Did you enjoy it? If you haven't would you ever consider it? More than anything I find it interesting to see how others would view the offer, whether you would be afraid to list it on a CV/Resume, how interesting the work would be, how you think future employees would see you and whether you believe that they would judge you for working in a dirty industry.

  Simple question. I have an array of 21 elements, and show every three of them inside a <div> block. The code is something like this: <?php $faces= array( 1 => 'happy', 2 => 'sad', (sic) 21 => 'angry' ); $i = 1; foreach ($faces as $face) { echo $face; $i++; } ?> The problem lies when this array doesn't have 21 elements, sometimes it gets 24, an other times 17. How I wrap every three of them, and wrap alone the rest? I came up with using switch and case, but that works only when there are 21 elements only. I think I could count them beforehand and put a closing in the last one (even if it is a group of one element).

• Rails, making certain multiparameter attributes optional?

  Is there a method already part of Rails for making certain parameters option when part of a multiparameter attribute, for example say I'm prompting a user for their birthday, when saved the has may look like this: "birthday(2i)"=>"8", "birthday(3i)"=>"17", "birthday(1i)"=>"1980"}, ... But the issue arises when say I want to allow the user to just provide their month and day, making the year optional, how would this work being a datetime object, I'm assuming you can't do this as a date object... but any ideas would be helpful. • execute javascsript for loop alternately forward and backward

  What I'm trying to do is iterate through an array in chunks, alternating the direction of iteration from chunk to chunk. Confused? So am I. For example, if I want to loop thru an array with 25 elements, but I want to do it in this order: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, what would be the most efficient way of doing this? I'm looking for something scalable because the array I'm working with now is actually 225 elements and I want to traverse it in 15 element chunks, but that may change at some point. So far, the only method I've figured out that actually works is to hard-wire the iteration order into a second array and then iterate through that in the normal way to get the indices for the original array. But that sucks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I have searched for this, but still can't seem to get this to work for me. I have an array of Id's associated with a user (their Organization Id). These are placed in an int[] as follows: int[] OrgIds = (from oh in this.Database.OrganizationsHierarchies join o in this.Database.Organizations on oh.OrganizationsId equals o.Id where (oh.Hierarchy.Contains(@OrgId)) || (oh.OrganizationsId == Id) select o.Id).ToArray(); The code there isn't very important, but it shows that I am getting an integer array from a Linq query. From this, though, I want to run another Linq query that gets a list of Personnel, that code is as follows: List<Personnel> query = (from p in this.Database.Personnels where (search the array) select p).ToList(); I want to add in the where clause a way to select only the users with the OrganizationId's in the array. So, in SQL where I would do something like "where OrganizationId = '12' or OrganizationId = '13' or OrganizatonId = '17'." Can I do this fairly easily in Linq / .NET?

  From programming pearls, it is known that array[1...n] has heap property if for all 2<=i<=n x[i/2]<=x[i]. When I compile this code it shows me at last line that it is not heap. Maybe because the index starts from 1 and we don't pay attention to index 0, yes?

• Django: ordering numerical value with order_by

  I'm in a situation where I must output a quite large list of objects by a CharField used to store street addresses. My problem is, that obviously the data is ordered by ASCII codes since it's a Charfield, with the predictable results .. it sort the numbers like this; 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 2, 20, 21.... Now the obvious step would be to change the Charfield the proper field type (IntegerField let's say), however it cannot work since some address might have apartments .. like "128A". I really don't know how I can order this properly ..

  I have a problem in replacing codes in a dataframe of 3890 observations. My dataframe has a character variable df$IJN which contains values from 1 to 27. I would like to replace these with meaningful data as follow If(1 OR 6 OR 10 OR 14 OR 18 OR 22 OR 26) should be replaced with UL. If(3 OR 7 OR 11 OR 15 OR 19 OR 23 OR 27) should be replaced with LL. If(4 OR 8 OR 12 OR 16 OR 20 OR 24) should be replaced with UR. If(5 OR 9 OR 13 OR 17 OR 21 OR 25) should be replaced with LR.
