  • Unable to connect Third monitor to my workstation

    I have Dell Optiplex 960 with ATI Radeon HD 3470 graphics card, which allowed me to hook two monitors to it. However there is still VGA port on mother board is unused. I tried plugging another monitor, surprisingly my third monitor doesn't directed. Can any one give me a hint how to fix this problem?

  • Delay after commit before Redmine comments ticket

    I was used to having a post-commit hook trigger processing of the commit message by Trac (SVN repository). The comment (or action) was added immediately. Now I switched to Mercurial as a VCS and Redmine as a ticketing system. Redmine does recognize information in changeset/commit messages like "refs #185" - but it takes several minutes to appear in the ticket. Any ideas why this is? Is the routine to grab the changesets called periodically somehow?

Basically the problem is that my basement is not wired up to let me hook up my cable modem. I have some electronics that do not have wireless and need a LAN wire. Is there something I could plug in downstairs to act as a relay hub?

Does anyone make a device that you place on either side of a wall to hook up a connection? Preferably something that can do 100Mb full duplex and can't be eavesdropped on with common hardware?

    Recently set up root encryption with a couple of LVM volumes inside one LUKS volume, and I am just a little confused as to how I would go about getting it to automatically unlock using a keyfile stored on a USB flash drive, I presume I would have to put the drive in the fstab inside my initramfs (if there is one), and add a hook for USB device support. But I digress, essentially, I want to know what I have to do to enable my LUKS volume (containing all of my partitions sans /boot) to unlock using a keyfile stored on a USB flash drive, rather than a manually entered passphrase.

    I use SyncbackSE on Windows to back up files between two hard drives daily. Every time the application starts, it scans every single file in the directories that it watches before copying files that were added or modified. To improve performance, I was wondering if there were a Windows backup application that would hook into Windows to keep tracks of files that were added/modified in given directories, so that it only needs to go through this list when it comes time for a backup.     I use subversion.com for my personal stuff and whenever a commit is made I get a detailed report of what exactly changed and who changed it. I've read a bit into hooks and understand that this is likely a hook but it seems like it's not default functionality included with Subversion. It sounds like it's something I'm going to have to program... am I correct with that conclusion or can I just "set it up" by entering a few emails? Please tell me it's included :)
