  • Changing 127.0.0.1:81 to Internal Domain Name ?

    Hi, I was wondering the steps I can take to change the localhost name to a test development domain name like "website.dev" on Win7 x64 ? Currently, when my test website builds its assigned to 127.0.0.1:81 but I want this to instead have a name like "website.dev" that is accessible on my local network ? [and sure any Virtual PCs built on this local PC] I think this is done via the hosts file but I am little unsure how to do this ? Would someone be able to assist ? Thx

  • Slow down individual connections passing through a Linux router?

    We have a Linux server acting as a router/firewall for our office. Occasionally someone will upload a large file that takes up all our bandwidth. I don't want to implement any complex rules or traffic shaping, but I'm wondering if there is a way to slow down a single connection on the spot? I found tcpnice, but it doesn't slow down the transfers in my testing.

    In this recent post about criticism regarding built-in DRM in Intels SandyBridge processors, Intel denies that there's any DRM in Sandybridge processors but goes on to say that Intel created Intel insider, an extra layer of content protection. Think of it as an armoured truck carrying the movie from the Internet to your display, it keeps the data safe from pirates, but still lets you enjoy your legally acquired movie in the best possible quality I'm confused now. So far I was thinking DRM is content protection. Can someone shed light on this?

    For some reason I do not know, several default packages in my Fedora 12 installation have gone missing, removed or uninstalled. Now, reinstalling fedora 12 is not a good idea in my current situation. Can someone guide on how can I install yum package using rpm? I mean, I can't find the repository for yum. Thank you very much!     I have blocked FTP 21 port on server. NOw every connection will be via SFTP via ssh. Initially i had /etc/hosts.deny -- sshd:all But i had to remove that otherwise sftp was not working. How can i secure my shell login so that if someone login via root or userbac(root previleges) Then i need private key but not for other users Or any other to secure my system Thanks

  • Use vmconnect from another AD domain

    I try to connect remotly to the KVM (console) of an Hyper-V Virtual Machine using vmconnect.exe but I'm dealing with some kind of a problem : When I connect from a computer within the same AD of my Hyper-V Host, everything work fine but when I try to connect from a computer not within the same AD, wmconnect say that my RCP services is not running on the host The problem is that it doesn't ask me for any credentials and so, i can't authenticate in the AD Does someone have any clues ?

The license was bought online and emailed to someone, however, that computer crashed and the email with the license is lost. Is there a way to recover the license from the laptop?     Did someone achieve to do negative regexp (or part of) with Squirm ? I tried negative lookahead things and ifthenelse regexps, but Squirm 1.26 fails to understand them. What i want to do is simply: * If the url begins by 'http://' and contains 'account', then rewrite/redirect to 301:https:// * It the url begins by 'https://' and does NOT contains 'account, then rewrite/redirect to 301:http:// So far, i do that using 2 lines of perl, but squirm redirectors would take less memory

    I have an issue with IIS7 url rewrite module, when I add following rule I get an 404 error on all pages. <rule name="Remove .aspx" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="(.+)\.aspx" /> <action type="Redirect" redirectType="Permanent" url="{R:1}" /> All I want to do to remove all files extensions. I have already tried: Checking the "compatibility" setting Removing the appdata/roaming/skype folder (it doesn't exist anyway) Installing versions 5.3.113, 5.3.116, 5.3.120 Checking audio and video drivers for most recent updates Uninstalling with "advanced" registry checking using Revo Uninstaller Anyone got some gems of experience to throw my way?
