    Hi, I'm developing a windows application, that talks to SharePoint via its built in web services, and i want to get all content types available on a SharePoint site, I'm trying to use Web.Webs WebsService = new Web.Webs(); WebsService.Credentials=credentials; WebsService.Url="url of the web service"; XmlNode listOfContentTypes = WebsService.GetContentTypes(); If credentials have administrator privileges i can get the list of all the content types available, But if credentials don't have administrator privileges a 401 exception is thrown (not enought permission). My question is: How can i get all content types available on a SharePoint site if i don't have administrator priviliges?

    I am using VSTO to create an Excel add-in. My plan is to persist objects inside of excel workbooks by serializing them to strings and assigning those strings to be the values of names in the workbook. However, when I call the API function to add the new name, I get a mysterious exception from the COM library.   • [change] Vlookup onto another workbook

    Hello, here is my dilemma. I have two worksheets one that has the name of clients and one that i want to copy the names to depending on the city. For instance: associated to each column is last name, first name and city. i have hundreds of names associated to different cities and what i would like is from worksheet1.xls to copy all the New York clients to worksheet2.xls either when i open worksheet2 or via macro what ever is easier and because last name is in one cell and the first name is in the other i would have to copy both. I saw that its possible to link cells from one worksheet to another and then do a vlookup depending on the criteria. Is that the best easiest way or is there another? thanks in advance and cheers oleg

  • Lock-Free, Wait-Free and Wait-freedom algorithms for non-blocking multi-thread synchronization.

    In multi thread programming we can find different terms for data transfer synchronization between two or more threads/tasks. When exactly we can say that some algorithem is: 1)Lock-Free 2)Wait-Free 3)Wait-Freedom I understand what means Lock-free but when we can say that some synchronization algorithm is Wait-Free or Wait-Freedom? I have made some code (ring buffer) for multi-thread synchronization and it use Lock-Free methods but: 1) Algorithm predicts maximum execution time of this routine. 2) Therad which call this routine at beginning set unique reference, what mean that is inside of this routine. 3) Other threads which are calling the same routine check this reference and if is set than count the CPU tick count (measure time) of first involved thread. If that time is to long interrupt the current work of involved thread and overrides him job. 4) Thread which not finished job because was interrupted from task scheduler (is reposed) at the end check the reference if not belongs to him repeat the job again. So this algorithm is not really Lock-free but there is no memory lock in use, and other involved threads can wait (or not) certain time before overide the job of reposed thread. I know the easiest thing is to use VSTO, but its slow and would involve clipboard use to insert elements, the OXML sdk is direct and simpler.     Hi, I have edited my form web part to look like this. I am a newbie to moss. As i understand, form web part allows only 1 column to be mapped to my list at a time. I need to configure to it have multiple columns mapped to my list view. Do I need to change any javascript function or use sharepoint designer. I have spent a week trying to accomplish this. Stillon a dead end. Please give some detailed information on how to accomplish this. Any guidance would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.

  • Cannot log in to the desktop on ubuntu 11.10?

    The problem is, I could log in under the terminal, i could ifup eth0, i could do anything I want in the terminal, but if I use ctrl+alt+f7 goto the gnome login screen, after I input the correct password, the system just send me back to same login screen again. I have created a new user, but it didn't work. I have change all the files under ~/ to jichao:jichao(which is my username) with chown -hR jichao:jichao /home/jichao, but it didn't work too. I searched the internet, somebody said I should see the logs under /var/log/gdm, but there is not a /var/log/gdm directory in my box. The values are there as I can run Debug.Print(countryCombo.Value) and it prints out the name of the selected country, but I can't see the values in the combobox at all. They're invisible, and as far as I know there is no visiblity property for specific items, unless I'm completely mistaken.

I am thinking that for each authenticated user (logged in) we would need an OS CAL & a SharePoint CAL & we would need a processor license for SQL Server - Is this correct & what about non-authemticatedc website "browsers"?     I've been trying to debug the following problem for several weeks now - this method is called from several places within the same datamodule, but this exception (from the subject line of this post) only occurs when integers for a certain purpose (pickup orders vs. orders that we ship through a carrier) are used - and don't ask me how the application can tell the difference between one integer's purpose and another! Furthermore, I cannot duplicate this issue on my machine - the error occurs on a warehouse machine but not my own development machine, even when working with the same production database. I've tried every combination of TParameter properties that I can think of - this is the millionth TParameter I've created for my millionth dataset, and I've never encountered this error. I've even created a second dataset from scratch and removed all references to the original dataset in case some property of the original dataset in the .dfm might be corrupted, but the same error occurs under the same circumstances. The commandtext for this dataset is a simple select ValueA from TableName where ValueB = @ParameterB I'm about ready to do something extreme, such as writing a web service to look these values up - it feels right now as though I could destroy my machine, rebuild it, rewrite this entire application from scratch, and the application would still know to throw an exception whenever I try to look up a secondary value from a primary value, but only for pickup orders, and only from the one machine in the warehouse, but I'm probably missing something simple. So, any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Folks, I am facing a rather strange issue. In my Sharepoint Blog, I am not able to view more than 10 posts when I click on the Category filter page. The page only shows the latest 10 posts and when I click on the pagination for the next 10, it simply says that "There are no posts in this category." I tried searching online and some one had a solution to it too, but that is with the Query String (URL) Filter which is not available in MOSS2007 Standard edition... How can I get around this? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

  • How can I find "People's Contacts" folders via Outlook's object model?

    I have some code that locates all the contact folders that a user has access to by iterating through the Application.Session.Stores collection. This works for the user's contacts and also all the public contacts folders. It also finds all the contacts folders in additional mailbox accounts that the user has added via the Tools - Account Settings... menu command. However, this requires the user to have full access to the other person's account. When a user only has access to another person's contacts, then that person's contacts show up under the "People's Contacts" group in the Contacts view. How do I find those contact folders that don't show up under Session.Stores? In order to see the other user's contacts folder without adding access to their full mailbox, click File - Open - Other User's Folder... from the Outlook menu. In the dialog box, enter the other user's name and select Contacts from the Folder type drop down list. Here's the code (minus the error checking and logging) I'm using to find a list of all the user's Outlook contact folders. I know this can (and maybe should) be done using early binding to the Outlook.Application type, but that doesn't affect the results. EnumerateFolders is recursive so that it searches all sub folders.
