• Repeating parallax using Cocos2D on Android

  I want to draw a infinitely repeating parallax using Cocos2D on Android. Now, there are some solutions given to this problem in Objective C, but I'm stuck with my implementation in Android. I have tried using CCSprite background = CCSprite.sprite("background_island.png"); CCTexParams params = new CCTexParams(GL10.GL_LINEAR,GL10.GL_LINEAR,GL10.GL_REPEAT,GL10.GL_REPEAT); background.getTexture().setTexParameters(params); But it only extends the background in 1 direction. I guess I have to use 2 sprites, such that as soon as 1st finishes, the other starts and vice versa, but I'm stuck with the implementation.

  I created this search mysql string and it is to literal or maybe un-literal? If I search for Dave for example it will only find items like "Dave something" and not find Dave. $queryArtist = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM artists WHERE artist LIKE '%$ArtistNameSearch%' ORDER BY artist ASC"); I know mysql_query is out dated and will change it to mysqli soon as I get this worked out. • Database caching on a shared host

  Anyone have any ideas how to increase MySQL performance on a shared host? My question has less to do with overall database performance and more to do with simply retrieving user-submitted data. Currently my database will create caches at timed intervals, and then the PHP will selectively access the static files it needs. This has given me a noticeable performance boost, but I am worried about a time in which I have so much data that having to read in big files in PHP will actually be slower. I am just looking for ideas for shared hosting solutions; I am not going to get my own server anytime soon. Thanks!

My requreiment is as soon as producer calls set method i have to downlaod fresh data from intenet . If doSomething function is running, when Producer calls set method, i have to interrupt it and call again. Any help is appreciated. Regards Raju

  I'm trying to figure out how to block a signal in Linux kernel 2.4 (user space) from invoking its handler, but keep it available to be handled later, preferably as soon as I re activate the handling of said signal. The function sigprocmask seem to come up in all my search results, but I can't find a good, clear description that explains whether the blocked signal gets "saved" to be handled later, and if so where and how do I handle it when I'm ready for it. Can someone please clarify what's going on, preferably with a code example? Thanks in advance.

• Swing: what to do when a GUI update takes too long and freezes other GUI elements?

  Hello, everyone! I know that GUI code in Java Swing must be put inside SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait or SwingUtilities.invokeLater. This way threading works fine. Sadly, in my situation, the GUI update it that thing which takes much longer than background thread(s). More specific: I update a JTree with about just 400 entries, nesting depth is maximum 4, so should be nothing scary, right? But it takes sometimes one second! I need to ensure that the user is able to type in a JTextPane without delays. Well, guess what, the slow JTree updates do cause delays for JTextPane during input. It refreshes only as soon as the tree gets updated. I am using Netbeans and know empirically that a Java app can update lots of information without freezing the rest of the UI. How can it be done? NOTE 1: All those DefaultMutableTreeNodes are prepared outside the invokeAndWait. NOTE 2: When I replace invokeAndWait with invokeLater the tree doesn't get updated.

However, although it looks like libdispatch is either working on, or soon going to be working on, most newer POSIX-compatible systems… I have to ask, what about Windows? What are the chances of libdispatch being ported to Windows? What are the barriers preventing that from happening? If it came down to it, what would I need to do to preform that portage?

  We upgraded from mockito-all-1.8.5.jar to mockito-all-1.9.0.jar and now see null pointers when using annotations for the classes being mocked.   I am creating an ASP.Net MVC website that I am launching soon in private beta. What I am using. ASP.NET MVC 2 ASP.NET Sql Membership Provider Authorization Attributes on ActionMethods. ex. [EditorsOnly] What I am trying to accomplish: During the private Beta period of my website, I want no anonymous users to access my site. Only Beta Testers of my site should be able to login and use my site as normal. After the private beta period people can access it using the security structure I already have set up. I am hoping I do not have to recompile but can have a setting in the webconfig to switch between Private Beta mode to Normal mode. Thanks for your suggestions.

I'm now trying to accomplish this and is asking for a bit of advise: I'm basically trying to build a filter with 4 input elements, and 1 output. I have 4 select (drop down) elements in my page. As soon as one of them is changed, I need to build a href and get the partial view with the return values. My questionis now if I should try to build the href in the select element or if I can do it once in jquery, and don't have to have duplicated code. How would I accomplish this?

• iOS app won't compile on device but works fine in simulator

  I'm assuming this has something to do with linking, but I've removed RestKit and re-added it. I made sure all my connections and linking was in place. If I set XCode to use the simulator it runs fine, but as soon as I set it to run on any device it won't even build. The only other thing of note is this didn't start happening till I upgraded to XCode 4.5. • IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) fails due to IE settings

  We have a .Net application that is used for editing/rendering customized HTML documents. It is hosted in IE using the AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser controls. We proceed with navigating to "about:blank" page initially then we change the Document by writing our custom values into it. The problem we are facing is the call to IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) is failing if we don't enable the IE Security Settings in the Internet Security zone (Scripting-Allow Programmatic Access to Clipboard ). In order to bypass the security setting ,I tried to point to a local html file initially while navigating. But this fails as soon as I modify the Document. I want to use the IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) command so that I can customize our Copy/Paste operations. Is there any other way I can do this. Please share your ideas inorder to overcome this situation. Thanks. Sriram

• How to load secure S3 images into Flex with temporary URLs

  I have some secure images on S3 that I need to load into Flex. I was expecting to be able to do this using signed temporary URLs but can't get it working. I know the URLs I'm generating are correct, because they load fine in my browsers' address bar. Moreover, Flex has no problem loading my images with a non-signed url when they are public, but as soon as I try signing the urls all the images fail, whether public or not. I've tried image.source = signedURL, image.load(signedURL), etc. If I try loading the file with URLLoader/URLStream, it looks like I'm getting the data OK, but I'm not sure how to translate those results to an Image control. Is this just an issue with the Image control not being able to recognize signed urls? Do I have to load the image from a byte array? What would that look like?

• Why can't QFile read from the "~" directory?

  I've tried the following short example to find out about a bug in a bigger program I am working on. It looks like QFile doesn't support unix (or the shell's) notation for the home directory: #include <QFile> #include <QDebug> int main() { QFile f("~/.vimrc"); if (f.open(QIODevice::ReadOnly)) { qDebug() << f.readAll(); f.close(); } else { qDebug() << f.error(); } } As soon as I replace the "~" with my real home directory path, it works. Is there an easy workaround - some setting to enable? Or do I have to go the "ugly" way and ask QDir for the home directory of the current user and prepend that manually to each path?

I am working to convert these into below CSV format Time,interface.RX,interface.TX,interface.close.... 11:13:49,0,0,0,.... Simple as of now but the problem is, I have to get the data in csv format online, i.e as soon the log file updated the CSV should also be updated. Is there any way to do this using perl.

• iSightAudio.plugin error when playing video using MediaPlayer

  I am working on creating a simple iPhone app that plays a movie via URL. When I Build&Run to test in the simulator, it works fine; as soon as I start playing the movie, I get the following message in the console: [1757:4b03] Cannot find executable for CFBundle/CFPlugIn 0x820ffe0 </Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/iSightAudio.plugin> (not loaded) [1757:4b03] Cannot find function pointer iSightAudioNewPlugIn for factory 9BE7661E-8AEF-11D7-8692-000A959F49B0 in CFBundle/CFPlugIn 0x820ffe0 </Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/iSightAudio.plugin> (not loaded) I don't get this error on other programs, so I assume it has something to do with this specific program, which uses the MediaPlayer.framework. Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how to fix it? Thank you

• jQuery Upload Progress Plugin Not working in Chrome and Safari

  I am using the jquery.uploadprogress plugin to get the upload progress of a file from the NginxHttpUploadProgressModule. This is inside an iframe for a facebook application. It works in firefox, but it fails in chrome/safari. When I open the console I get this. Uncaught ReferenceError: progressFrame is not defined jquery.uploadprogress.js:80 Any idea how I would fix that? I would like to also send the file using AJAX when it is completed. How would I implement that? EDIT: I need this soon and it is important so I am going to put a 100 point bounty on this question. The first person to answer it will receive the 100 points. • Unable to get multiple connection to MySql on Windows 7

  I have installed MySql on windows 7 ... issue is i'm unable to get multiple connection to MySql . If I connect to MySql through command line and at the same time open an other MySql command line client it goes into wait state, as soon as I disconnect the first one later one gets connected. Because of above issues I'm unable to run tomcat in debug mode as it tries to get more than one connection to MySql in debug mode. Previously I was using same version of MySql i.e. 5.1 on vista and it was working fine.

  Hi, I'm writing a little program as a self-learning project in Python 3.x. my idea is for the program to allow two fields of text entry to the user, and then plug the user's input into the value of two specific registry keys. What I was wondering, and something my books don't seem to cover, is if there is a simple way to make it check if the current user can access the registry. I'd rather it cleanly tell the user that he needs admin privileges than for the program to go nuts and crash because it's trying to access a restricted area. I'd like it to make this check as soon as the program launches, before the user is given any input options. What code is needed for this? thanks for the help

What I need is to keep the Session opened until the page is rendered, because in my JSP y use the lazy attributes of the object i load from the DB. • jCarousel not working properly within tabbed menu

  Hi everybody, I'm riding three different jCarousel ul, one in each target of a tabbed menu designeb by Yetii. The problem issue is that the one in the first target works well, whereas the remaining two show just a slice of the first picture and slide soon onto a back frame. The jCarousel is initialized by a class as the behaviour required is the same for all targets: jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery('.jcarousel-skin-tango').jcarousel({ wrap: 'circular', //size:8, scroll:1, animation:.10, auto:5, }); }); The ul have different id.
