• Doxygen, too heavy to maintain ?

  I am currently starting using doxygen to document my source code. I have notice that the syntax is very heavy, every time I modify the source code, I also need to change the comment and I really have the impression to pass too much time modifying the comment for every change I make in the source code. Do you have some tips to document my source code efficiently ? Does some editor (or plugin for existing editor) for doxygen to do the following exist? automatically track unsynchronized code/comment and warn the programmer about it. automatically add doxygen comment format (template with parameter name in it for example) in the source code (template) for every new item PS: I am working on a C/C++ project.

• How to recognize touch events and control a script object inside UIWebView?

  Situation: I have an UIView with an UIWebView in it. When the viewDidLoad the Javascript Object inside the UIWebView is called (Microsoft Seadragon AJAX JS). For your Understanding: Seadragon loads a specified megapixel image(JPEG) and in a Desktop Browser like Firefox i can Zoom into the image and I can drag the crop for example from the middle to the left. In the iPhone Simulator (for iPad) only the Zooming Function is working on one single tap but when i try to drag the crop (with left mouse button click and holding it) I'm dragging the whole UIWebView but not the crop of course! Is that feature which the simulator isn't able to handle or what's yout solutin guys? Special Thanks!! P.S.: It's a bit jiggling when the zooming function of Seadragon is called. Is that authentic to the real performance of the iPad or does the simulator not have the power as the iPad has?

  I am trying to build the following SQL statement: SELECT users_table.*, users_data.first_name, users_data.last_name FROM users_table INNER JOIN users_data ON users_table.id = user_id WHERE (users_table.username LIKE '%sc%') OR (users_data.first_name LIKE '%sc%') OR (users_data.last_name LIKE '%sc%') I have the following code at the moment: public function findAllUsersLike($like) { $select = $this-select(Zend_Db_Table::SELECT_WITH_FROM_PART)-setIntegrityCheck(false); $select-where('users_table.username LIKE ?', '%'.$like.'%'); $select-where('users_data.first_name LIKE ?', '%'.$like.'%'); $select-where('users_data.last_name LIKE ?', '%'.$like.'%'); $select-join('users_data', 'users_table.id = user_id', array('first_name', 'last_name')); return $this-fetchAll($select); } This is close, but not right as it uses AND to add the extra WHERE statements, instead of OR. Is there any way to do this as one select? Or should I perform 3 selects and combine the results (alot more overhead?)? P.S. The parameter $like that is past is sanitized so don't need to wory about user input in the code above!

• Trying to compile VS2008 project on Win 64 bit which is custom Powershell PSSnapin

  Library Project compiles fine for ANY CPU in VS2008 running on Win 7 64 -bit. Now in the post build following command fails when attemptiong to register library dll: PS C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727 .\installutil C:\path\Project.dll Exception occurred while initializing the installation: System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\path\Project.dll' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.. Do I need to compile the project as x64 I was under impression that AnyCPU will take care of it. Alo my library does have dependencies. Do they also need to be compiled as x64 bit? Any help is appreciated.

  Hi, My understanding of basic BFS traversal for a graph is: BFS { Start from any node . Add it to que. Add it to visited array While(que is not empty) { remove head from queue. Print node; add all unvisited direct subchilds to que; mark them as visited } } However, if we have to traverse a DIRECTED graph from a given node and not all nodes are accessible from the given node [directly or indirectly] how do we use BFS for the same. Can you please explain in this graph as well: a= b = d = e = d a= c = d Here if the starting node is b , we never print a and c. Am I missing something in the algorithm. P.S: I used "HashMap adj = new HashMap();" to create the adjacencey list to store graph Any pointers are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  Is it possible to use CPP extension on Haskell code which contains multiline string literals? Are there other conditional compilation techniques for Haskell? For example, let's take this code: -- If the next line is uncommented, the program does not compile. -- {-# LANGUAGE CPP #-} msg = "Hello\ \ Wor\ \ld!" main = putStrLn msg If I uncomment {-# LANGUAGE CPP #-}, then GHC refutes this code with a lexical error: [1 of 1] Compiling Main ( cpp-multiline.hs, cpp-multiline.o ) cpp-multiline.hs:4:17: lexical error in string/character literal at character 'o' Using GHC 6.12.1, cpphs is available. I confirm that using cpphs.compat wrapper and -pgmP cpphs.compat option helps, but I'd like to have a solution which does not depend on custom shell scripts. -pgmP cpphs does not work. P.S. I need to use different code for GHC < 6.12 and GHC = 6.12, is it possible without preprocessor?

  Hello. I have created new a view controller in my project (ActivateController). I have added it to the interface of the parent view controller (PrefsViewController): #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "ActivateController.h" @interface PrefsViewController : UIViewController <UITextFieldDelegate> { ActivateController *activateController; } -(IBAction)pressedActivate; @property(nonatomic,retain) IBOutlet ActivateController *activateController; @end I have also added it to parent's controller nib (and changed it type to ActivateController), and connected it to IBOutlet ActivateController. But still, when I perform (on pressedActivate): [self.navigationController pushViewController:activateController animated:YES]; Nothing happens. I have done it successfully many times before. What might be wrong? P.S. pressedActivate is executed for sure (I used NSLog to check).

Maybe I found server.username in lighttpd.conf can't work for each host config. I found all facgi demon is started by userb,It seems that the second server.username = 'userb' config cover the first config. Now How can I start two users's own fastcgi demon serve for lighttpd.

• Python/X11: find out if user switches virtual desktops

  Hello everyone, I'm looking for a way to determine if the user switches virtual desktops under X11. I'm using Python with X11 libraries and PyGTK. I found some working examples in C, but I lack the expertise to translate them into Python, and I read the source code of several X11 pager applications (fbpanel, pypanel), but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Do I have to register for a signal? Using X11 or GTK? Do I have to busy-wait? I'm completely new to both X11 and GTK, so any hints/help would be greatly appreciated. • NSLog crashing app using 3.1.3 software

  Hi guys - the other day I had a bug submitted for my app from a user on an ipod touch with 3.1.3 software. It was a strange bug as no-one else has submitted it yet. Long story short, it appears that anywhere where I have NSLog() in code it will actually crash the app. I tried stripping out ALL the code other than NSLog(@"hello") and running on my iphone (3.1.3) it indeed did crash. I removed the NSLog and it worked. Has anyone else had this problem?? PS) I am now aware that we shouldn't release an app with NSLog still in use... so they've all gone now!

• How can I change from docbook to restructuredText?

  I have a 30-ish page manual in docbook. However, working with docbook is so painful that I don't really update it. I want to switch to restructedText instead. I can't find any direct translator (the best I could find is ezComponents, but it fails on the docbook sgml). Maybe there is an indirect route through RTF or some other format, but I can't figure it out. Any ideas? PS The current conversion process is: docbook -> jade -> html docbook -> jade -> tex -> pdflatex -> pdf

• What's the best method to be overloaded in ViewPage for inserting some script to all ViewPage?

  I want to insert some script that is required for my JavaScript library in all view pages. I know that Asp.net MVC is built on Asp.net Framework. Therefore, I can override many methods in “System.Web.UI.Page” class that is a parent of “System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage” class. Nevertheless, I can do it by override Render method but it makes all view pages be invalid for XHTML 1.0 strict. • Validate a belongs to association in a build situation.

  I have a Mission model that has_many Task, and the Task belongs_to Mission For security I've made this validation on the Task Model: validates_presence_of :mission_id validates_numericality_of :mission_id But the problem is that when create a Mission and add tasks like this: @mission.tasks.build The validation returns error, because the mission id on the task is null ( the mission wasn't yet created ) If I delete the validation, the Mission and Task is created successfuly, but how can I keep the validation and still have this work? I could do a callback after the save, but I don't think that's right, because I don't want to save Tasks without a mission_id. P.S. I'm hidding my mission field on the form. If I have it visible, it will show the currect mission and everything is ok. But if I hidde it the error happens. <%= f.hidden_field :mission, :label => "Missão" %> Is the form reseting the attributes given by the controller on the new action?

  Hello, I am building a RoR app, a community. With a User model and some fields. So when a user is updating a certain field, like His/Hers berthday. Then i want to validate that the User typed in the password that is the same in the Database. So I know that it is the right user trying to change the birthday. So i ask you how i can create shuch a validator. Allso i would like to be able to specify an array of which fields the user has to validate the password to change. Ps. I am using RoR3. If it mathers. What SQL query would you use to SELECT all items in the table along with their depth where the depth of an item is the sum of all parents and grand parents of that item. • synchronizing audio over a network

  I'm in startup of designing a client/server audio system which can stream audio arbitrarily over a network. One central server pumps out an audio stream and x number of clients receives the audio data and plays it. So far no magic needed and I have even got this scenario to work with VLC media player out of the box. However, the tricky part seems to be synchronizing the audio playback so that all clients are in audible synch (actual latency can be allowed as long as it is perceived to be in sync by a human listener). My question is if there's any known method or algorithm to use for these types of synchronization problems (video is probably solved the same way). My own initial thoughts centers around synchronizing clocks between physical machines and thereby creating a virtual "main timer" and somehow aligning audio data packets against it. • Visual studio 2010 doesn't make the changes when i do a build/compile a DLL file

  Ok so i change some code, re-build it and then, say for arguments sake i had a print statement outputting 'test2', well if i change it to 'test3' its still re-producing the old code 'test2'. Ive deleted the debug folder and rebuilt but no good. Then randomly about 10 builds later it will catch up. Ive also closed VS2010 and then re-opened the project but that doesnt help. What can i do as i need to see the changes asap? ps it's definitely the correct file EDIT: I've done clean and rebuild but it hasnt done anything EDIT: This is a .dll file which im modifying

Does the socket really get closed? Are there side effects? P.S. This is using C# 3.0 on the .NET MicroFramework, but I suppose the c#, the language, should function identically. The reason i am asking is that occasionally, very rarely, I run out of sockets (which is a very precious resource on a .NET MF devices).

• Android Context.bindService always returns false and ServiceConnection object is never triggered

  I have followed the Local Service example provided by Google, but my Context::bindService(...) always returns false and there is ServiceConnection::onServiceConnected is also never called. I understand that Context::bindService() returns immediately, but my ServiceConnection object is never triggered. I don't know if these apply My activity is running inside a tabHost and I was wondering if that can affect service binding in any way. The Service itself may have a problem, but I can call start service to the same service with the same Intent and it works as expected. Does anyone have experience with this? Please help me out. • popen fails with "sh: <command>: not found"

  I'm developing a server application and I recently encountered this wierd error on a testing server (Debian Squeeze). Every executable I pass to popen fails with a msg: sh: sort: not found // happens to any command This happens regardless whether I point to the full path returned by "type" or keep it short . As mentioned earlier, this happens at only one testing environment, to add confusion, am running the same OS and had no problem whatsoever. Popen is apparently using sh to execute commands, but if I run the same command thru the prompt (bash or sh), everything's fine Thanks in advance (PS: even tried Python os.popen just to nail this head scratcher, and it works!) • Get the date of a given day in a given week...

  i need to start at a year-month and work out what the date it is in a given week, on a given day within that week.. i.e year: 2009 month: 10 week: 5 day-number: 0 would return 2009-10-25 00:00:00 which is a sunday. Notice week 5, there is no day 0 in week 5 in 2009-10 as the sunday in that logical week is 2009-11-01 00:00:00... so week 5 would always return the last possible date for the given day in the given month.. if you havn't guessed already i'm messing with the c struct TIME_ZONE_INFORMATION (link text) which is pretty crazy if i'm fair... Date math and SQL are something to be admired, sadly its something i have never really dug deep into beyond stripping times. Any help would be greatly appriciated. PS: mssql 2005 btw..

• Is there a library for editing program flow?

  Hello, I was wondering if there is a library for editing program flow. I refer to conditions if, loops (do, while, for) and other elements that can exist inside a program. What I would like to have is some sort of a CAD application (similar to an UML editor) from where I can take some elements and edit their properties, make connections between them. Do you know similar software that does this, or resembles a little what I'm trying to achieve? Thanks, Iulian PS: It is something that should resemble this image.
