    I'm doing a bit more statistical analysis on some things lately, and I'm curious if there are any programming languages that are particularly good for this purpose. I know about R, but I'd kind of prefer something a bit more general-purpose (or is R pretty general-purpose?). What suggestions do you guys have? Are there any languages out there whose syntax/semantics are particularly oriented towards this? Or are there any languages that have exceptionally good libraries?

    hey guys I searched for a while on how to find a benchmarking software that can simulate crowd website with more than 1000 users online to find out leaks in my php/mysql script . as long as i ran my script for a huge community and it wasn't successful enough and lots of RAM usage happened , now I need a way to simulate that much usage to benchmark my script and optimize it .     Hi Guys, Is there a built-in functionalities in solr/lucene to filter the results if they fall below a certain score threshold? Let's say if I provide a score threshold of .2, then all documents with score less than .2 will be removed from my results. My intuition is that this is possible by updating/customizing solr or lucene. Could you point me to right direction on how to do this? Thanks in advance!

    Hi guys. I have an NSMutableArray object(retained, synthesized as all) that is initiated just fine and I can easily add objects to it using the 'addObject:' method. But if I want to replace an object at a certain index with a new one in that NSMutableArray, it doesn't work. For example: ClassA.h @interface ClassA : NSObject { NSMutableArray *list; } @property (nonatomic, copy, readwrite) NSMutableArray *list; end ClassA.m import "ClassA.h" @implementation ClassA @synthesize list; (id)init { [super init]; NSMutableArray *localList = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; self.list = localList; [localList release]; //Add initial data [list addObject:@"Hello "]; [list addObject:@"World"]; } // Custom set accessor to ensure the new list is mutable (void)setList:(NSMutableArray *)newList { if (list != newList) { [list release]; list = [newList mutableCopy]; } } -(void)updateTitle:(NSString *)newTitle:(NSString *)theIndex { int i = [theIndex intValue]-1; [self.list replaceObjectAtIndex:i withObject:newTitle]; NSLog((NSString *)[self.list objectAtIndex:i]); // gives the correct output } However, the change remains true only inside the method. from any other method, the NSLog((NSString *)[self.list objectAtIndex:i]); gives the same old value.     Is there a single query (subqueries in it are allowed) where I can copy the content of one field into another field, per row. Example: price, and priceBackup Records: 45.55 47.77 45.55 copies into priceBackup for that specific row, 47.77 copies into priceBackup for that specific row. I do have a primary key, auto increment on it under 'id'. Thanks guys!

What would you assume would be a good value to say, both positions are equal/near enough to tell the user that he has reached the goal?
