  • Embed javascript in markdown

    I'm using the Maruku markdown processor. I'd like this *blah* blah "blah" in [markdown](blah) <script src="code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script> ...do stuff... </script> but it complains when I render it with a multitude of errors. The first one being ___________________________________________________________________________ | Maruku tells you: +--------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Could you please format this better? | I see that "<script type='text/javascript'>" is left after the raw HTML. | At line 31 | raw_html |<script src='http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js' /><script type='text/javascript'>| | text --> |//<![CDATA[| and then the rest seems like the parser is going nuts. Then it renders the javascript into a div on the page. I've tried making it a CDATA block and extra spacing between the jquery and my script. Help?

  • Viewing large XML files in eclipse?

    I'm working on a project involving some large XML files (from 50MB to over 1GB) and it would be nice if I could view them in eclipse (simple text view is fine) without Java running out of heap space. I've tried tweaking the amount of memory available to the jvm in eclipse.ini but haven't had much success. Any ideas?

  • Need Help Figuring Out Why Text Is Overflowing My Page

    Like the title says, I am having issues with a VERY long string overflowing my page. I tried some overflow techniques, but none seem to work.     Hi I try write singleton fasede pattern with generics. I have one problem, how can I call method from generic variable.   • Cannot generate migrations on rails 2.3.4

    I used to work with rails 2.3.2 before and then I decided to upgrade to version 2.3.4.   • Accessing ASP.NET Development Server from another pc on the network

    I would like to test my web app in other browsers. I have installed Virtual PC to do just that. the ASP.NET development server does not allow remote connections so the virtual pc (another computer on the network) cannot access the website. I found this post that was started but there was no solution. I understand that using localhost will not work. I heard about using the machines ip, but how do I get that correct ip? Look at my lynksys router admin? If I were to get as far as getting my IP, im sure that the asp.net dev server does not allow remote connections. How do I enable it to do so?

    I am looking at some code that has a lot of sort calls using comparison functions, and it seems like it should be using key functions. If you were to change seq.sort(lambda x,y: cmp(x.xxx, y.xxx)), which is preferable: seq.sort(key=operator.attrgetter('xxx')) or: seq.sort(key=lambda a:a.xxx) I would also be interested in comments on the merits of making changes to existing code that works.

Since App A & B were created independently & are hosted in 2 separate Heroku instances, how can App B access the users database in App A? Is there a way to push certain relevant rows from App A to App B?

I originally thought it would work with a 'hidden' asp button, but the click doesn't seem to be submitting the form.     my application has a UIViewController subclass which is being managed by a UINavigationController. In the viewDidLoad of my UIViewController subclass, I was attempting to add a UIBarButtonItem to the toolbar like this: settingsButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Settings" style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(viewSettings:)]; [self setToolbarItems:[NSArray arrayWithObject:settingsButton]]; this wasn't working out for me, so after some googling around, I tried this: [[self navigationItem] setRightBarButtonItem:settingsButton]; which worked out fine. from reading the UIViewController documentation, I'm still confused about why setToolbarItems wasn't working. I verified in the debugger that the button was in the toolbarItems array in the viewDidAppear method. the button itself just wasn't appearing on my toolbar. so, my question is, why didn't setToolbarItems work for me in the first code snippet? I don't have the toolbar configured in my xib for this view controller at all, if that makes a difference.

    I would like to accomplish the following: If a username or password field is null, notify the user. If user name already exists, do not insert into the database and notify user to create a different name. if the username is unique and password is not null, return the username to the user. As of now it always returns "Please enter a different user name." I believe the issue has to do with the database query but I am not sure.   • Deserialization of a DataSet... deal with column name changes? how to migrate data from one column to another?

    So, we wanted to slightly generalize a couple columns in our typed dataset... basically dropped a foreign key constraint and then wanted to change a couple column names to better reflect their new state. All that is easy. The problem is that our users may have serialized out the old version of the DataSet as XML. We want to be able to read those old XML files and deserialize them into the revised DataSet. It seems that would be a fairly common desire... but I haven't yet figured out the right thing to search the internet for. One possible solution would seem to be some way to give a DataColumn an alias or alternate name such that when it reads the old column name, it knows that data can be read into the column with the new column name. I can find no support for any such thing. Another approach would seem to be an "after deserialization" method of some sort... so, I would let it read in the old column values into a normal DataColumn with that name, and then in the "after deserialization" method I would just move the data from the obsolete column into the new column, and then delete the old columns. That would seem to generalize to many other situations... and having such events or hooks is pretty common in ADO.NET. But I have looked for such a hook and haven't yet found it. If no "after deserialization" hook, it would seem I ought to be able to override ReadXml or ReadXmlSerializable methods to call the base and then do my "after" stuff to fix up old data into new. But it does not appear that is possible. Soooo, I have to think backward compatibility with old serialized DataSets and simple data migration would be a well-solved problem... so, trying to reinvent that wheel seems silly. But so far, I haven't seemed to find any documentation on doing those things. Suggestions? What is best practice for this?

    what im trying to achieve is that when an admin views a list of members, they can click a link to resend the instructions on how to confirm that members accounts. this is the code im using to try and achieve this = link_to 'Resend Confirmation', confirmation_path(:user => {:email => user.email}), :remote => :true im hoping that this would allow me to pass the users email through to the link have it then sent to that user though the issue im getting is Could not find a valid mapping for {:user=>{:email=>"[email protected]"}}

  • Lib Files and Defines

    I'm using a couple of external libraries and I'd rather not have to include all their source and header files in my main source directory or in my project file. One option would be to compile the libraries as lib files and link them like that. However I'm not sure the defines get evaluated before or after the lib file gets created (which one is it?). If it's before then obviously I can't just pack them because they might not work properly on different compilers or systems. So if I can't pack the libraries as lib files, is there any way for me to link in the c or cpp source files? Probably not, since they would have to be compiled first, but maybe I'm wrong. Edit: Here's a follow-up question, based on answers. Do you think it'd be too much of a hassle to have a makefile that creates the lib files? I'd still rather not add the sources to my project or in my source directory.
