  What should be specified on the client side? Is this enough: binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.Digest; ... cf.Credentials.HttpDigest.ClientCredential = new NetworkCredential("myuser", "mypass", "mydomain"); cf.Credentials.HttpDigest.AllowedImpersonationLevel = TokenImpersonationLevel.Impersonation; What should be specified on the server side? obviously one needs: binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.Digest; but where do one specify in the server the digest username\password to validate the client against? In addition when Micosoft says that Digest Authentication uses the Domain Controller, what does it mean? Does it validate username\password against it?

  I am trying to pass Selected MenuItem's Text/Header string as the MethodParameter to my ObjectDataProvider. I have seen examples like these on the internet but haven't been able to adapt it to the Menu Control specifically. I am new to WPF and need some help accomplish this. • Core Data Image Won't Load Into NSTableView Image Cell

  In my code I am storing an image into my Core Data model (works fine). If I set up my view to have an NSImageView and bind its Data to Controller Key: selection and modelKeyPath: myImagePath, it works. It will show each image for the selected row. I then create a new column in my NSTableView and drag an image cell onto the column. However, I cannot get my Core Data bindings to have the image show up in the cell. I have tried binding both value and data, but no luck. Since I am sure the image is stored properly, what am I doing wrong in my binding to prevent the image from showing up in the table cell? Thanks so much. (My background: new Cocoa developer who has recently gone through the entire Hillegass book.)

  I am responsible for creating a team, which will build a Flex application. Unfortunately I have zero experience with Flex. So I found an expert within our company to interview candidates. Our expert came up with the following questions: how to write item renderers explain methods commitProperties, updateDisplayList, measure binding positive / negative parts, problems with binding what is ClassFactory ? And why is it needed ? how callLater works ? what is layoutChrome ? what is skin ? did you use autogeneration for Java backend ? how to override managers ? like PopupManager . These sound a little too specific for my taste. Would you say they are decent questions? Is it fair to say, for example, that if Flex developer does not know how to write item renderer, he has very little knowledge of Flex?

• I've got a ComboBox that's giving me grief in WPF using the MVVM pattern

  Here's my code: <ComboBox Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="9" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=PriorityEntries}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=Priority,Mode=TwoWay}"/> The comboBox is bound properly with PriorityEntries, and when i change the value of the comboBox the "set" of the bound property(Priority) is called setting it to what it needs to be. However, when i close the UserControl that this combobox resides, it calls the set property again with a value of null and then sets what the selectedItem was to null. Why is the comboBox being bound again when I close the usercontrol. I tried setting the mode to OneTime, but that won't reflect any changes...

  Hi, i have a question regarding some complex data-binding. I want to be able to update a grid (which has the property "IsItemsHost" set to true) dynamically whenever a data-binding occurs. To be more specific, i bind the grid to some items and i want to change the number of grid rows depending on these items, add something like a header (one row containing some text), and set the items' Grid.Row and Grid.Column using some custom logic. What is the easiest way to apply such behaviour whenever the bound data is updated? Do i have to use a viewmodel that also contains the header data? Thanks in advance.

• How can I keep a WPF Image from blocking if the ImageSource references an unreachable Url?

  I'm writing a WPF application and trying to bind an image to my view model with the following XAML: <Image Source="{Binding Author.IconUrl, IsAsync=True}" /> The problem is that the image URLs are defined by users and can often refer to images hosted on intranet web servers. When the WPF application is run remotely, it locks up while trying to resolve the images that are now unreachable. I thought the "IsAsync" binding property would cause the load to happen in the background, but it appears that the DNS resolution may still happen in the main thread? What can I do to keep my app from locking, even if the images are unreachable? Thanks, Corey

  Hi there, I´ve got a problem with a Combobox in a ListView. I´ve got a class called "Substrate". This class contains an object of a class called "SubstrateType". I want to show the objects of the class "Substrate" in a Listview. Each property of the "Substrate" is presented in the columns of the Listview. For the different "SubstrateType" I want to use a combobox. In the XAML I tried it like this: <ComboBox Name="CBType" ItemsSource="{Binding ElementName=SettingsSubstrate, Path=TypeList}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=Substrate.SubstrateType}" DisplayMemberPath="Description"/> In the code-behind I got two ObservableCollections. One for all Substrates and one for all possible SubstrateTypes. The combobox displays all SubstrateTypes if you click on it. • Cannot complete a JSONP call from jQuery to WCF

  Okay, I am trying (poorly) to successfully make a JSONP call from jQuery on a test page to a WCF web service running locally, as a cross-domain call. I have, at one point or another, either gotten a 1012 URI denied error, gotten a response but in Xml, or just had no response at all. Currently, the way I have it configured it spits back a 1012. I did not write this web service, so it is entirely possible that I am just missing a configuration setting somewhere, but I've become so frustrated with it that I think just asking on here will be more productive.   I'm starting to use the MVVMLight framework and have a question about binding to properties in the ViewModel. I found that I have to call the RaisePropertyChanged method in the setter for the property in order for the View to be updated. And I have to call RaisePropertyChanged from through the dispatcher otherwise I get a thread access error. public string Lat { get { return _lat; } set { _lat = value; Deployment.Current.Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(() => RaisePropertyChanged("Lat")); } } This works but its a lot of code to get auto binding properties. Is there a helper to handle this more cleanly?

• WCF doesn't find client configuration

  Hi ! I have a WCF service on server B. Then on the machine A is the client, which is a Windows service. In a separate dll stands all the business logic for this service. So my proxy for the WCF is on that side. I have 2 app.config (client side only) : 1 for the service and another one in the dll. So I tried (for test purpose) puting the servicemodel config section in both. Both still, it doesn't work, it says that it can't find the endpoint with that name and for that contract... What I'm trying to do here is modify the configuration programatically. This may be due to absent or incorrectly specified EndpointIdentity in the EndpointAddress used to create the channel. Please verify the EndpointIdentity specified or implied by the EndpointAddress correctly identifies the remote endpoint. If I host the service on ASP .NET Dev server, it work well but if I host on IIS above mentioned error occurs. Thanks, Ram

  I'm new to WinRT and am trying to create a standard gridview which has a group heading with a number of tiles beneath it. That bit is easy. Can anyone spot what I'm doing wrong...?

• WPF ComboBox SelectedItem - change to previous value

  Hello, I have a ComboBox that has the SelectedItem bound to the ViewModel. <ComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding SelItem, Mode=TwoWay}" ItemsSource="{Binding MyItems}"> When the user selects a new Item in the View ComboBox, I want to display a prompt and verify that they want to make the change. In the SetItem Property setter in the View Model, I display a Dialog to confirm the selection. When they say yes, it works fine. My problem is, when the user clicks on "No" I am not sure who to get the ComboBox to revert back to the previous value. The Property in the ViewModel has the correct older value, however in the View the ComboBox displays the newly Selected Value. I want the user to select an item, confirm they want to go ahead with it, and if they decide not to, I want the ComboBox to revert back to the previous item. How can I accomplish this? Thanks!

• WCF (REST) multiple host headers with one endpoint

  I have an issue with a WCF REST service (.NET 4) which has multiple host headers, but one end point. The host headers are for example: xxx.yyy.net xxx.yyy.com Both host headers are configured in IIS over HTTPS and redirect to the same WCF service endpoint. I have an Error Handling behavior which logs some extra information in case of an error. The problem is that the logging behavior only works for one of both URLs. When I first call the .net URL, the logging is only working for requests on the .net URL. When I first call the .com URL (after a Worker Process recycle), it’s only working on requests on the .com URL. • Databind List Of Objects To A WinForms DataGridView, But Not Show Certain Public Properties

  I'm not even sure if i'm doing this correctly. But basically I have a list of objects that are built out of a class. From there, I am binding the list to a datagrid view that is on a Windows Form (C#) From there, it shows all the public properties of the object, in the datagrid view. However there is some properties that i still need accessible from other parts of my application, but aren't really required to be visible in the DataGridView. So is there an attribute or something similar that I can write above the property to exclude it from being shown. P.S. Im binding at runtime. So i cannot edit the columns via the designer. P.P.S. Please no answers of just making public variables (Although if that is the only way, let me know :)).

• M-V-VM, isn't the Model leaking into the View?

  The point of M-V-VM as we all know is about speraration of concerns. In patterns like MVVM, MVC or MVP, the main purpose is to decouple the View from the Data thereby building more flexible components. I'll demonstrate first a very common scenario found in many WPF apps, and then I'll make my point: Say we have some StockQuote application that streams a bunch of quotes and displays them on screen.   I am attempting to have a ListBox of TextBoxes with click events. I have read that one way to achieve this was to have a list of Buttons and call ButtonBase.Click="" on the ListBox. This was not working. Any advice as to how I would hook up a click event to the listbox items? • dynamically created datagridview columns not accessible unless added to a form...why?

  We simply created a DataGridView control dynamically and bound it to a DataTable. We were tying to style certain columns. But, when we tried to access the columns we got a null reference. On further investigation we found that if we add the DataGridView control to the main form, and then try to access its columns, it works fine!!! Code which throws error: DataGridView gv = new DataGridView(); gv.DataSource = GetDataTable(); //binding it to datatable Debug.Assert(gv.Columns == null); Code which works fine: DataGridView gv = new DataGridView(); gv.DataSource = GetDataTable(); //binding it to datatable this.Controls.Add(gv); //adding to form Debug.Assert(gv.Columns == null); //the assertion fails! Why is this behaviour so? Is there a workaround for this?
