Can I get information about the IIS7 virtual directory from Application_Start?

I have 3 IIS7 virtual directories which point to the same physical directory. Each one has a unique host headers bound to it and each one runs in its own app pool. Ultimately, 3 instances of the same ASP.NET application. In the Application_Start event handler of global.asax I would like to identify which instance of the application is running (to conditionally execute some code). Since the Request object is not available, I cannot interrogate the current URL so I would like to interrogate the binding information of the current virtual directory? Since the host header binding is unique for each site, it would allow me to identify which application instance is starting up. Does anyone know how to do this or have a better suggestion?

I'm trying to add image tags to a WPF image and I'm not having much luck. I'd like to do it through databinding if at all possible. Can I set a resource with a DataTemplate to take care of this? I have a datagridview that is populating columns from different table. I want to filter the column based on another column of the current row. How to implement an ItemsControl3D which can use templates of Visual3D?

I'm looking for something like a ContainerUIElement3D which supports the ItemsSource property and an ItemTemplate property which I can use within a Viewport3D. I've been using .NET reflector to browse through the implementation of ItemsControl and DataTemplate, but I soon realised that I don't have a deep enough understanding and enough time to come up with a solution on my own.

The simple part of it works well (articles has a list of all articles): private ObservableCollection<Article> _articles = new ObservableCollection<Article>(); [fill it with the available articles] and then: comboBoxArticles.ItemsSource = _articles.AsBindable().Where( c => c.Typ == 0 ); How can I extend the Where clause to query another table? SOAP WCF Webservice behaves differently when called locally or remotely

I have a WCF SOAP 1.1 Webservice with the configuration specified below. A concurrent call to any method of this endpoint hangs until the other returns when called remotely (from another computer on the network). I cannot replicate this when these methods are called locally (with a client located on the same machine). I tried to increase the maxConcurrentCalls with no luck ... the service behavior seems to be different according to the client local/remote location. Any guess? Slider - Moving of slider clears the screen.....

Hi, I am currently working on Silver light 3.0. Currently facing one simple issue but not able to find the solution about it. I have one column slider, which is placed in between column 1 and column 3. Column 2 contains slider itself. But when i move the slider from column1 on column 3. That means column1 will only be visible right now. But when i move the slider to the right corer it clears the screen. Asp.net web service: Problems accessing without www

I have a Asp.net web service running on www.domain.com/Service.svc that I connect to using jQuery from my asp.net website. Everything works perfect if the user access my website with www.domain.com. But if the user uses only domain.com I get error: There was no channel actively listening at 'http://domain.com/Service.svc/get?date=2010-10-09'. This is often caused by an incorrect address URI. Ensure that the address to which the message is sent matches an address on which a service is listening. In my web.config I use the serviceHostingEnvironment tag to get the service running on my webhost (it doesn't work otherwise). Maybe this is what causes the error? Guice expert question

Hi All I am wondering if someone would be such an expert in guice that he even would know how to implement that : I have an injection annotation (@ConfParam)with some parameters , like that : class TestClass { private final int intValue; @Inject public TestClass(@ConfParam(section = "test1", key = "1") int intValue{ this.intValue = intValue; } public int getIntValue() { return intValue; } } The ConfParam is my custom annotation. Now , when the injection value is requested , I would like guice to create a dynamic binding, to resolve the value. For that binding I will need the parameters inside the annotation. Some example could be , I will have to look in the database in some table where the section is ? and the key is ?. All the trouble is that the data is not available when the injector is created and could be also be added at runtime. Ps. I static solution is easy. ( just have a look at the Names class)

Showing renames in hg log?

I know that Mercurial can track renames of files, but how do I get it to show me renames instead of adds/removes when I do hg log? For instance, instead of: A bin/extract-csv-column.pl A bin/find-mirna-binding.pl A bin/xls2csv-separate-sheets.pl A lib/Text/CSV/Euclid.pm R src/extract-csv-column.pl R src/find-mirna-binding.pl R src/modules/Text/CSV/Euclid.pm R src/xls2csv-separate-sheets.pl I want some indication that four files have been moved. I think I read somewhere that the output is like this to preserve backward-compatibility with something-or-other, but I'm not worried about that.

I looked your answer where I was also using this.DataContext=this. I am unable to convince myself why I have to remove it? But I did In my UserControl control I have 6 int properties (RedCount, GreenCount …) I am using .NET 3.5 and basically I wanted to use StringFormat with Binding. In my xaml file I have 6 Labels with I would like to bind, and I did what exactly you told in last reply. For some strange reasons it didn’t work. I don't know why it does not work. I placed break point in converter where I never hit it. This imples Binding failed.

Displaying a collection of controls in a specific way in WPF

I have a collection of controls "MyCollection" wich changes in the Runtime. And I have to follow some constraints for that, for example: If my parameter "MyCollection.Count = 4" the property "NumberOfcolumns" will have the value 2, in order to create new Lines, and show the controls Two per Two. This is how I'm displaying my collection : <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding MyCollection}" BorderThickness="0" HorizontalContentAlignment="Center" VerticalContentAlignment="Center" > <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate > <UniformGrid Columns="{Binding NumberOfColumns}" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center" Background="Transparent"/> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> </ItemsControl> The problem is that my controls have different sizes, and as In UniformGrids, Cells are uniform... My design is not really pretty, because I have little controls shown in big Cells !! Can someone help me to solve this problem ? NB: Please give me a detailled solution if possible, not something like : "Use WrapPanel..."

WFP Validation & IDataErrorInfo

A note - the classes I have are EntityObject classes! The validation is not executed. Can anybody just press me against the place where my error lies?

Using microsoft report viewer with objects

Ive got some nested objects that I am trying to generate reports for. A BackupClient contains BackupVersions and BackupVersions contain BackupFiles. I passed in the list of BackupClients - and the report displays the client name, etc.... but to display the versions - It says I have to have a Binding Source for BackupVersions. If I pull all of the versions out of the clients and put them in a different BindingSource, then my data is no longer together - how is the report viewer going to list the versions for client X - if I just have a binding source with ALL clients versions in it?
