  Hello. I've done some apps on iPhone using Objevtive-C and Cocos2d, and I'd like to start learning 3D. My first goal is to make a very simple app that: - Displays a 3D cube in the center of the screen. - And move the camera around the cube I want something very simple: no texture, no background. • Clean way to output values in ASP.NET MVC Views when value is not null

  Is there a better way to write the code below? I have quite a few blocks that are similar, and this is making the code in the Viewpage very messy to work with. The data value with the associated label only needs to be output when certain conditions are met, which is almost always if the value is not null.   My UI is not updating when I expect it to. The application displays "projects" using a view similar to iTunes -- a source list on the left lets you filter a list (NSTableView) on the right. My filters update properly when they are examining any simple field (like name, a string), but not for arrays (like tags). I'm removing a tag from one of my objects (from an NSMutableArray field called "tags") and I expect it to disappear from the list because it no longer matches the predicate that is bound to my table's NSArrayController. • How to stop IE8 from expanding a nested div's width to fit parent div?

  I have a page with several levels of divs. In one of the inner divs, there are two divs (1 & 2) which have float; left so that they are on the same horizontal level. It looks good in FireFox, but in the IE8, div 2 is below div 1. I turned the borders on and noticed div2 (violet border) is filling the width of the parent box. In FF, the width is the width of all the content only. If I use a hard coded width (not a good idea), IE8 displays it fine. How can I make IE8 not expand the width of div2 to the right edge of its parent div? IE8 (not good: div2 width is expanded) Firefox (good: width of div2 is not expanded)

• Why does some images not display in different browsers?

  I've unreal problem. I have a site, where are displaying images over an classical <img> tag. All images are loading from the database, where is URL column of the image. My problem is that three of ten images are not display. But if I open the source code and click at the URL of the image, I can see image. In source code is some looks like (just for a simple example): <img src = "http://some.image/1.jpg" alt = "description" height = "140" width = "187" /> But the biggest snag is that Opera displays all images correct, but just in FF, IE, Chrome are mentioned problems. I can not provide a screenshots, because the pages are a bit perverse. How can I show the site where the problem is? Or some advice? Thank you.

• Poorly rendered text (NSFont) in MacRuby/Cocoa. Any advice?

  I have a small MacRuby app that displays some text inside a NSTextView. I have a method called make_label() that builds an NSTextView with some text and returns it, which I use to add to another NSView via addSubview() make_label() looks like this: def make_label( x, y, width, height, color, font_size, text ) label = NSTextView.alloc.initWithFrame( NSMakeRect( x, y, width, height) ) font = NSFont.systemFontOfSize(font_size) label.setFont( font ) label.insertText( text ) label.setTextColor( color ) label.setDrawsBackground(false) label.setRichText(true) label.setEditable(false) label.setSelectable(false) label end My question is, how come my text looks so poorly rendered?   Hi, I am having a little issue this piece of code in my Xsl. <xsl:if test="ShippingName != ''"> <tr> <td colspan="6" style="border:none;" align="right"> <strong>Shipping Via</strong> </td> <td align="right"> <xsl:value-of select="ShippingName" /> </td> </tr> </xsl:if> It passes the test condition (ShippingName != '') and assigns the style to 'td' but at the point where I am displaying the value that this element contains (), it displays nothing. I'm trying to get started with java development, and develop 2d games, but I can't get the project to run. • Giant online image gallery - How do I avoid OutOfMemoryError?

  For anyone who's wondering, the gallery is http://www.spore.com/sporepedia. My app uses the Spore API to get the 100 newest creations, then displays them in a GridView. The text data about the creations is easy to store, but the images present a problem. As far as I know, I can either keep the images in a Hashtable or grab them every time they are viewed. Neither of these will work - the Hashtable quickly presents an OutOfMemoryError, and the constant reloading causes a lot of load on the server and a lot of lag on the client. Is there a better way to store the images?

• Python - react to custom keyboard interrupt

  Hello. I am writing python chatbot that displays output through console. Every half second it asks server for updates, and responds to message. In the console I can see chat log. This is sufficient in most cases, however, sometimes I want to interrupt normal workflow and write custom chat answer myself. I would love to be able to press a button (or combination) that would switch to "custom reply mode". What is the best way to do that, or achieve similar result? Thanks a lot!

  We have a website that displays information in a location based manner, i.e. it detects the IP of the visiting user and redirects him/her to an appropriate landing page; for e.g. a user coming from 'Egypt' will be redirected to http://www.mysite.com/egypt/cairo and a user visting from dubai will be redirected to http://www.mysite.com/uae/dubai, so on and so forth and we cater to multiple locations in the middle-east. Now, we have been advised by our SEO consultant that we should put a 301 (permanent redirect) on http://www.mysite.com to point to http://www.mysite.com/ksa/riyadh I would like to know the negative implications that this would have on Google indexing or otherwise, as I fundamentally disagree with this suggestion and believe that in a siutation like this a 302 redirect would be more appropriate.

  Hi guys, I am trying to use jQuery (latest version) & ajax to poll a mysql db every x seconds, post.php does a simple search query on the table and limits to 1 row. (eg SELECT id FROM TABLE LIMIT 1) I've got some other jQuery UI (using v1.8) code that displays some modal/dialog boxes on the screen, simply put if post.php returns something from the db I need to initialise the dialog to pop up onto the screen. • How do set default values in django for an HttpRequest.GET?

  I have a webpage that displays data based on a default date. The user can then change their view of the data by slecting a date with a date picker and clicking a submit button. I already have a variable set so that if no date is chosen, a default date is used.... so what's the problem? The problem comes if the user trys to type in the url page without a parameter... like so: http://mywebpage/viewdata (example A) instead of http://mywebpage/viewdata?date= (example B) I tried using: if request.method == 'GET': but apparently, even example A still returns true. I'm sure I'm doing some obvious beginner's mistake but I'll ask anyway... Is there a simpler way to handle example A other than passing the url to a string and checking the string for "?date="?

  I display elements in a hierarchy, clicking one displays the next set of elements in the hirearchy. Each element has a tag called "level" which has some value which is 1-.... (whatever the number of levels is for that branch of the tree). When an element is clicked I want the next elements to be displayed, but if an element is clicked and it's subelements have already been displayed I want to hide all subelements. More formally: when an element with level = x is clicked if no elements with level x are displayed then display all elements such that level = x+1 but if some elements with level x are displayed then hide all elements where level x How would I create a jQuery selector that captures this.

  Hi I have an application which downloads a file from a network location and then displays that files information. It uses WebClient.DownloadFile to achieve this. The problem is, when the user clicks a button to start the download, the application becomes unresponsive until the file has downloaded. This gives the impression the application may have hung. I would like to seek ideas which would avoid this scenario. Though my solution will need to be 'as quick and cheap as possible' I would be interested in hearing about custom loaders that have been built, or some sort of loading symbol / progress bar / sand time clock thingy : ) Thanks for reading.

  So far I need to round a number that I inputted and get it to 3 decimal places without those methods. if(number !=(int)number){ number*=1000; number=(int)number; number=(double)number; number/=1000; System.out.println("-"+ number); } if(number ==(int)number){ System.out.println("-"+ number + "00"); } With that above, it will work for any input except the ones with 2 decimal places, like 12.34 . How do I make it work if i type 12.34 and displays 12.340?

  Hi... I'm adding in-app purchase on my application. I have a view that displays information about the product and one button for purchasing the product. My question was how can I stop the user to tap again the buy button so that the StoreManager will only call my Buy method once? Because sometimes I had tapped it twice that's why two alertView shows up asking about the purchase. Should I set the button "enabled property" to no after I tap.   I am developing a windows service, in vb .et, that launches a legacy application that performs some work. The service acts as a wrapper around the legacy app allowing users to automate an otherwise manual operation. Everything is working great, except occasionally the legacy app displays a messagebox. When it does this the process halts until the message box is closed. As the service will be running on a server there will be no user to close the message box. The service launches the legacy application in a System.Diagnostics.Process. My question is, is there way to detect that a message box has been displayed by a process that I have started using System.Diagnostics.Process and is there a way to through code to close the messagebox.   I have a datagridview in a windows form with 3 columns: Serial number, Name and Date-Time. The Name column will always have either of the two values: "name1" or "name2". I need to sort these columns such that the grid displays all the rows with name values in a specific order (first display all the "name1" rows and then all the "name2" rows). Within the "name1" rows, I want the rows to be sorted by the Date-Time. Please note programmatically, all the 3 columns are strings.   I have a website using ASP with an MS Access DB back-end for storing mainly blog posts. My company has a very long software approval process so I am stuck with what I have (i.e. I must use Access). I use server-side javascript to retrieve posts stored in the database using OLEDB calls. Everything works fine except that I cannot read any tables from the database when it is open in the MS Access program. The page displays an error message about the file being in use. This could lead to significant downtime while I am doing any work within Access. How can I make the file readable by my ASP application while it is open in Access?

  I am writing a small script for watchr that runs my PHP unit tests. Current script runs tests using system() and displays them colored. I am trying to add libnotify functionality, but for that I need to parse the output and match against regexp, so that notification will either display green or red. system() doesn't return output, %x does return, but puts p doesn't display colors, which I need to quickly see which test failed. One option would be to run tests twice - once for display in terminal window, and second time for checking which notification to show, but I would rather avoid it.
