  • Help with cake controllers

    We had an outsourced engineer work on a quick feature DELETING items listed in our database. He says that the code is difficult because the "controller" is missing. Is there a pre-loaded controller for every function like that in cake, or is it weird that he is expecting a controller to be there for a feature we didn't have yet.

  • is there a way to recursively merge then rebase all branches?

    Let's say I have git repo like this: master webapp-1252 webapp-1285 webapp-1384 webapp-1433 webapp-1524 webapp-824 x_____jira_ x_webapp-11 x_webapp-11 x_webapp-11 z_____jira_ I've updated all of them and ready to push them all to svn or something. Then someone makes a quick change that would require me to basically go through all of them to merge etc. Is there a shortcut to go through all the branches I have here, merge them with whatever work that was fetched, then rebase them?

    I have the following lines of code: $("a.quickview").fancybox({ ajax : { type : "POST", data : 'itemID=' + $(this).attr("name") } }); Which is binding on: <a name="614" class="quickview" href="/URL/index.cfm">quick view</a> I want data to post as itemID=614, but $(this).attr("name") is coming back as undefined?     For example this query: SELECT `variants`.* FROM `variants` INNER JOIN `variant_attributes` ON variant_attributes.variant_id = variants.id WHERE (variant_attributes.id IN ('2','5')) And variant has_many variant_attributes What I actually want to do is to find which variant has BOTH variant attributes with ID = 2 and 5.   • Memory release from local variable in javascript

    Quick question. I have a js function which gets called on the page every few seconds. It's an ajax update thing. Being a function, I declare local variables. I don't want to use closures or global variables for various reasons. I'd never considered this, but do I need to release/clear the variables at the end of the function to release memory or will js do this for me automatically ? Thanks

  • sIFR load before rest of page?

    Hiya, Is it possible to have sIFR "preload" or load before the rest of the page content? At present it is the last thing to load (due to the text position) and as it's quite an obvious part of the page I get a huge mash-up of text replacement all in a quick flurry which is not very appealing. It looks like the site is having an epileptic fit. Once loaded, all is fine though :) Any work-arounds to the load-fitting? Cheers Hugh

    im moving from a c# VS2008 world into the mac world and I just wanted to know how I can create a quick little command line based application so that I can write many little objective-c apps without worrying about creating an iPhone app or whatever. Which projects do I create in xcode? I can see the Command Line Tool under "Mac os x" but the only options for the type is "C", "C++", "Core Data", "Core Foundation", "Core Services" and "Foundation" but no simple objective c project? I have the following ruby code, which works fine. def add_zeros number, zeros number = number.to_s zeros_to_add = zeros - number.length zeros_to_add.times do number = "0#{number}" end number end But if I replace number = "0#{number}" With number.insert(0, "0") Then I get TypeError: can't modify frozen string, does anyone know why this is?

I don't want to have to use a boolean and then have to say go to another method, but rather just to execute the first line of code after the outer loop. I want a book that I can either use as a quick but in-depth (decent write up, not a pocket reference guide) reference to common functions (JOINS, string manipulation, Regular Expressions, etc) while also providing a detailed inner workings explanation on the system itself.
