  • Tomcat shudown does not kill process

    Hi all, I have got some problems with my tomcat instance. I am using apache-tomcat-6.0.20 for linux.My OS is CENTOS when I execute command # bin/shutdown.sh It does not close the process that is running the tomcat. Can any body please give me some idea; what is happening with the process.

  • Does DKIM works with subdomains?

    ISP's recommend you segment your marketing and transactional emails by using different IPs. I want to start using DKIM, but since DKIM is a domain based reputation system I wonder if signing with the same company.com domain will impact the reputation of transactional emails, since both them and marketing will be signed with the same domain? Is using DKIM with subdomains possible? Would something like this: bulk.company.com and transactional.company.com be a good idea? Thanks!

  • I have too many DNS servers configured

    I have my laptop connecting to my wireless router, and I have told the router to issue out DNS via the DHCP lease. The laptop is configured to use the information. The router is configured to only issue two DNS server addresses from open dns, but the laptop reports Networking Dns Servers: 10.197.100.1 10.197.100.2 10.197.100.3 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220 I have no idea where the laptop is getting these additional IPs as DNS. Please advise.

  • Setting correct hostname

    Hi, when i type cat /etc/hostname the console show me my ip adress, when i type cat /etc/mailname it shows me my-ip-adress.internetserviceteam.com I have no idea if it's a problem or not, but i was lokking through a lot of postfix install tutorials, and there when typing cat /etc/hostname they were geting their site name. Why do i get just a ip-adress? Maybe i messed up something when i set up my dns and domains with the webmin tool (I did that for the first time in my life)? OS: debian

  • Nginx returning 444 for PUT and DELETE

    I'm trying to build a REST API through Nginx and everything works fine except when I the requests are PUT or DELETE. In these cases, Nginx returns 444 (no response). I did some research and all I could find was something about Nginx being configured with the "--with-http_dav_module" option. I've checked that with nginx -V and and it seems that it was configured with this. So, any idea what else could it be?

    Are there any Informix-specific guides for optimizing any operating system where an ifx engine is running? For example, in Linux, strip-down to a bare minimum all unecessary binaries, daemons, utilities, tune kernel parameters, optimize raw and cooked devices (hdparm). Someday, maybe, informix can create its own proprietary PICK-like O/S. The general idea is for the OS where ifx sits on have the smallest footprint, lowest overhead impact on ifx and provide optimized ifx performance.

    I am working through the security guide from apple (which they did not update since Snow Leopard). In the firewall section it states that ipfw has a default allow rule: 65535 allow ip from any to any And if you enable the firewalls 'stealth mode' via the settings the following rule should be added: 33300 deny icmp from any to me in icmptypes 8 The funny thing is: I have stealth enabled and I do not see this rule when doing sudo ipfw print Any idea where stealth mode is enforced if not in the ipfw ruleset?

  • Netgear WG311 v2 not identified on Windows 7

    I have a Netgear WG311 v2 wireless card. It was working fine on vista. Now I have installed Windows 7 and the device is not identified. Device Manager shows it as an Ethernet card. When I update the driver using the list provided with the Windows distribution. It shows it under Wireless devices in Device Manager but it says device cannot start code 10. Any idea on how to install it.

  • DVD drive doesn't recognize blank dvds only!!!

    My dvd-rom works fine because I can play dvds on it, however when the dvd is a blank one the drive refuses to recognize it. So I can't burn dvds anymore because the drive shows up as empty in my disk burning software (dvd flick). Any idea what the problem is and how to solve it? PC: Windows vista home basic, 32 bit

    Hi, I am using Apple Mail on Snow Leopard. It seems to use excessive data, around 1.5 GB a day. I don't receive mails remotely close to that size obviously. Does anybody have any idea what's happening. Its very consistent. Turn Mail off, and the download goes away. Much appreciated.

    Does there exist a product out there that attaches to your PC (preferably USB) that enables Infrared signals to be received (by a regular remote control) ? It seems a novel idea to be able to get a programmable remote that can be used to manipulate windows (like the Harmony remote control series) along with some programmable software (preferably Windows supported) to convert any button on a regular remote to some command on the PC. Does this exist? What is it called? This particular instance you are REQUIRED to use the crappy supplied remote, and this is not what I am looking for

  • F3-F5 keys incorrectly behaving as audio keys

    I don't know if this is a configuration issue or a hardware issue, but I have a Kinesis Advantage USB keyboard and for some reason the F3-F5 keys aren't responding as they used to. They don't respond to anything and, when I tried using F5 on Emacs, it said <XF86AudioNext> is undefined, so I guess it's a weird mapping problem. Any idea how I could remap them to the original meaning?

  • Unable to use "Manage Content and Structure" after removing Project server form the SharePoint farm.

    We're no longer using Office Project Server, and I've removed it from the farm in which it was installed. However, now that it's been removed, I am unable to access the "Manage Content and Structure" link on some of our SharePoint sites. I get an error indicating that SharePoint Failed to find the XML file at location '12\Template\Features\PWSCommitments\feature.xml' Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

    Hi all Anybody have an idea as to when VMWARE SERVER will have an upgrade to support 3-d graphics etc. I have created some W7 VM's under WKS7 and an upgraded vmware tools -- the W7 VM's run full aero etc. I believe that vmware tools and graphics for VM's running under vmware server are at the WKS 6.5 level -- hence problems can occur.   • Memcached Debuging/Server Logs Monitor the Memcached Servers?

    I have chat engine which is based on the Memcached variables, putting them into arrays and reading them in other end via jquery, which works fine 95% of the times, however when the server load is high memcached (presume its the memcached) the crash and browser gets stucks up. I dont think its jquery issue since this only happens when the server load is very high. I need a way to monitor the memcached servers or somehow write a log file into where the fails/errors comes in... Any idea on how i can do this ? or any idea why memcached servers fails ?     Hi, We are moving to the dataceneter and planning to have tiered storage on EVA4400 - FC RAID 10 for SQL databases and RAID5 across 24 FATA 1TB disks form VMware ESX guests.HP is describing FATA disks as suitable for near online storage, however I am not convinced that 24 spindles will not be enough for running VMWare for 3 ESX servers. Does anyone has opinion on why this could be a such a bad idea?
