• Looking for a package allowing user-entered profiles

  Title was a little hard to work, but take this as an example. User goes to site, creates account, and then has his/her own profile to edit. Let's say the profile includes height, weight, sex, eye color, etc.. I've really only used wordpress before, but I'm sure something else would cater to this better. The entire site is focused around a person having their own profile page with the info they supply. Thanks!

• Excel controls not visible for certain users

  One of the users of an Excel program I've written is having a weird problem. None of the control objects (Command Button, ComboBox, etc.) are visible to him when he opens the file on his laptop. He is using Excel 2003, the same version I used to create the program, and enables macros using the pop-up when the file loads. I have Googled this, and have found these people who seem to be having the exact same problem, with various versions of Excel. Unfortunately, none of their questions were answered. I can't really explain it any better than this user: If I enter design mode and pull a control from the control toolbar onto a sheet all I see are the drag handles. When not in design mode I have to feel around with the mouse and can click the button which executes the button click code correctly and opens another sheet where again I have to feel around for the buttons to return me to the original sheet. The button I managed to click is now visible but as soon as I click anywhere on the sheet it disappears. I have verified that the visible property of the buttons is set and that the Show All Objects on the Options View tab is selected. If I pull buttons from the Forms toolbar onto a sheet they are visible. If I try to find Objects using F5 when not in design mode Excel reports no objects on the sheet. So, Super Users, can you help? UPDATE: Thanks for your replies, but much like the person in the ozgrid link, the problem has gone away. Not sure why it went, but I can confirm that the user rebooted again and also started up other Excel files that didn't contain controls in the interim. Perhaps that fixed it, or maybe it'll be back again. I'll keep udating with progress, and close if the problem doesn't reoccur for the next few days. Thanks again.

• Visual Studio Express 2012 - Moving items to tab control loses actions

  VS 2012 Express on Windows 7 Professional, this was pre SP1 install. I have a windows form that I had several elements (Listboxes, buttons, text and labels), with some actions associated with changing indices on the list boxes and of course the button actions. I decided I wanted to add a tab control to enable a second tab with a different feature set, so I copied/cut/pasted all of the original items to a tab control that I added. When I did this, all of the elements lost their click action in the events window. I had to go and re-associate all of them. Is this a normal behavior/known issue, or is there some method to move controls that I am not aware of?

• HP Pavilion dv3 volume control display driver on Windows 7

  I've recently bought an HP Pavilion dv3-2150ep and I'm having a hard time getting the volume control display to work as expected. The control is a back-lit touch-sensitive bar above the keyboard. Now the buttons to turn the volume up and down actually do it, but the lightning is not changing at all. The mute button does change color when toggled. I'm not sure if I'm missing any drivers here (I've installed all of those on the HP support page that seem to have something to do with sound and/or display) or if I have to activate this somewhere. Any ideas?

• SSH automatic logon works for one user but not the other

  I want to enable automatic ssh login using the .ssh/config file for my git user. Here is my .ssh/config file: Host test HostName myserver.net User test IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_rsa Host git HostName myserver.net User git IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_rsa It works for my test user but not for my git user so my global SSH configuration is correct. The configuration are exactly the same as far as I know. It used to work with git user but I'm unable what change has broken the automatic logon. • Sendmail yields "user unkown" errors even after (wrongly) setting up a catch-all account

  I was trying to follow the instructions found here to set up a catch-all account, but still I get the following message for mails sent to non-existent users: The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.1.1 [email protected]... User unknown (state 14). Everything else works, though... /etc/mail/local-host-names and /etc/mail/virtusertable were set up as instructed. Any advice? Thanks!

• Proper SSH keys location for a system user ?

  I have a system account with which I run a database (namely mongodb). By default it has no home. Now I'd like to trigger scp commands from that account, with ssh keys authentication to a remote server, to export backups. Should I just create a /home/mongodb and /home/mongodb/.ssh folders manually to store the SSH keys, like the default for regular users ? Is it still considered a system account after that ? Thanks!

  I have set up a few custom keyboard shortcuts in iTerm2 to easily move the cursor around with the arrow keys, but now I'd like to remap control+e to be escape, control+e because bash 4.2 no longer auto-expands variables using the tab key. I know I've done the first part correctly in choosing the keyboard shortcut to remap, but I don't understand how to look up the correct escape sequence (or hex codes) to send in the bottom section: I reference they keyboard codes but that wasn't much help.   I need to create a local user with the same name as a domain user under CentOS with Likewise installed. When I use Useradd it says user exists, because a domain user with the same name exists. It is a service account for backup and does not work using a domain account. On machines where the local account was added before likewise was installed it works fine. • User mapping lost after manual failover

  I have two Microsoft SQL Server instances set up for mirroring each with a number of databases. There are a number of logins and for each database one or more user/login mappings. When I restore a backup of database I always have to redo the login/user mappings. I understand this because the logins are per database server. So after restoring the databases on the pricipal I redid the login/user mappings. This was not possible for the mirror because the databases were 'restoring'. After a manual failover I could not use the databases because user credentials were missing. This was not unexpected, so I did the login/user mapping again. I did a manual failover again to make the initial pricipal, which was now the mirror, principal again. To my surprise I could not use the databases because the login/user mappings were gone. Is this the expected behaviour?

  I am currently administrating two servers: first one has no control panel, I am creating directory structure, setting permission, configuring different aspects (users/php-fpm pools, nginx hosts..) for each of sites. With more clients, I sat up ISPConfig on my second server, everything is easily handled by ISPConfig Web Interface. However, I am searching for a CLI based solution, i.e. a set of scripts to create and manage hosts. Basically, a method to control ISPConfig from the command line (so I can use it over SSH) would be a good start. Does anybody know of such effort? I searched but all I got was web based solutions. • User cannot book a room resource

  Im having a problem with a specific user not being able to book a room resource. No error message is generated at all. The user attempts to add the room as a meeting resource and it simply doesnt register with the resources calendar. I have tested the resource with other accounts and other rooms for this user but it is only this room that is having issues for this user. This Exchange server was migrated from 2007 to 2010. All rooms except for the problem room were created back on Exchange 2007. This new room was created with Exchange 2010. Maybe this clue has something to do with the problem?   I am trying to parse the output of a command that expects to be writing to the screen. It has data separated by move-to-origin control sequences (for the VT220, ESC[1;1H). I only need the last part (i.e. after the last move-to-origin). I have tried doing this multiple ways (primarily awk and sed), but the problem is always that parts of the control sequence have special meaning (to the program, not just to the shell), and I cannot quote them when I substitute tput's output. Any suggestions?

Also, should the User name be my email or something else? I've also no idea how to find or add a user in the step 6 of this guide because the only location listed is my PC and I don't even know what am I supposed to search for. • Multiple "setups" on windows 7

  I would like to create multiple setups on Windows, that is, when I'm working with my computer I have some programs opened, after that I would like to change the setup/user to the "gaming setup" where the previous setup would hibernate and the computer would have all the resources free for me to play. I could have opened multiple tabs on firefox on each setup and they would be there when I come back. I understand that windows' switch user would make the programs run when I'm with the other user and that's not what I want. So, is that possible?

• Access denied for user who has full access to some files in their own folder

  I have a very similar case as this user: Access denied on some files on Win2008R2 DC share This is on a windows 2008 R2. The user has Win7 pro. The user has their own home folder on the server. Every file, except one, the user can read/write/modify at their own will. No problems - except this one file. She gets "access denied" I can open it (as domain admin). Another user can open it (because she's in the domain admin group). I did run the AccessEnum tool and the read/write permissions are all identical for all files. So, I can't explain why the user can't open this one single file. Out of all her files in sub-folders and such. No problems. This one file is causing a headache. What do you think could be wrong here?

• Designing a user-defined list to be stored in a relational database - Should I include user index?

  By index, I mean, as the user creates the list, each item receives an integer index for its place in that particular list. Since there will be a table of ListItems, I'd prefer to avoid using the name "Index" for the field. Then I was thinking - should I even include the list index in the database? I figured I would because the list would be created in the same fashion every time, then. Or I could order the list for the user based on its actual primary key, since the list items are created in succession anyway... What should I do?
