  I am currently working on a wpf application. There are some methods in other classes in which I want to trigger to do some work instead of trying to figure out how to rewrite them in. How is it that I can get to those classes? Would I have to for example instantiate the class? If so, once I instantiate it, how would I be able access them. Keep in mind that these classes have abstract classes on top of abstract classes.

  Background: I'm trying to come up with a regex for a rewrite rule that will take anything that does not start with a particular prefix, and add that prefix to it. But urls that already have the prefix should be rejected by the regular expression (because they already have the url). Example: If the prefix is s1 a string like home will capture the home part. But a string like s1/home, will not capture anything. This way I can add the capture group onto the prefix, so that 'home' will become 's1/home'. I've tried (^s1/), but I'm missing something here, because that rejected 'home' for some reason.

  Hi everybody. Are there any guidelines how to transit to x64 with as little pain as possible? Suppose, I have a windows native x86 executable written in C++. The EXE works fine by itself, but there is also DLL that is hosted by both, the former EXE and an outside x64 process. With setup like this, what parts would I need to rewrite? I would appreciate a more general answer or maybe a link to a reference where some theoretical background is given. Thanks

  I'm supposed to rewrite the UI for a rather large web application. The thing is that the layout is completely based on tables and if I could somehow, semi automatically, convert the tables into divs it would save me a huge amount of time. What are the best practices when doing something like this? Is this a good idea at all? The application use layout files (containing something similar to helpers) that are parsed into html at runtime and the application itself also output html at specific places. So the work will consist of converting these helpers and the htmloutput code within the application.

  I am searching one student from each class from one group. There are different class groups and every group has different classes and every class has multiple students. See below: Group1 --> Class1, Class2 etc Class1 --> GreenStudent1, GreenStudent2 etc Class2 --> RedStudent1, RedStudent2 etc ------------------------------------------------------ SELECT table1.id, table1.myname, table1.marks table2.studentid, table2.studentname FROM table1 INNER JOIN table3 ON table1.oldid = table3.id INNER JOIN table2 ON table2.studentid = table3.newid WHERE table1.classgroup = 'SCI79' GROUP BY table1.oldid ORDER BY table1.marks DESC There are different joins applied in the query. Above mentioned query giving me correct results but I need little modification in it. Current query returning me one student from each class. What I need? I need one student from each class but only that student who has MAXIMUM table1.marks So I should have one student from each class who has maximum number in their relevant classes. Can anyone suggest some solution or rewrite this query? Thanks :)

  I have a couple of things I'm working on, namely a page that issues five or six cURL requests and processing content on them. I'm working with CodeIgniter on a LAMP stack but am open to other options. Naturally I would prefer to not rewrite the application. I would like to know if there are any ready-made / easily learned caching methods. Primarily I'd like to check if the page has changed since I last scrapped it. If it has, redownload and present. If it hasn't, serve up a cached copy.

  I am trying to copy from a file X to this name C:\RIP2\France Clidat\Les Plus Belles Oeuvres - France Clidat\(01)3_ Un Sospiro.flac I have checked that there is no bad characters, If I force directorires it creates C:\RIP2\France Clidat\Les Plus Belles Oeuvres - France Clidat but it refuses to write the file and I do not understand why a simple test procedure foo(str: string); var f:File; begin Assign(f,str); Rewrite(f); CloseFile(f); end; will crash saying it is not a valid file name but it is! If I remove ALL blank spaces it works I am lost please Help

• Printing python tkinter output

  I am trying to print the contents of a python tkinter canvas. I have tried using the postscript method of canvas to create a postscript file, but I get a blank page. I know this is because I have embedded widgets, and these do not get rendered by the postscript method. Before I rewrite my program to create a more printer-friendly layout, can someone suggest a way to approach this problem? All of the programming books I have ever read approach the problem of sending output to a printer with a bit of hand-waving, something along the lines of: "It's a difficult problem that depends on interacting with the operating system." I also have a hard time finding resources about this because of all the pages related to printing to the screen. I am using Python 2.6, on Ubuntu 9.04.

Note that these change depending on the product loaded. These are not constants. I would guess the first thing to do was to add the thickbox class. Then I am lost as to what to do next. Basically I need to open up an thickbox iframe with the modified markup.

I am trying to use a link_to_function call with replace_html to replace the 'maincontent' div with an iframe tag using the value of 'search' in the current instance as the src for the tag. My current attempt is the very ugly code below. I'd be grateful for either of the following types of responses: How can I rewrite the concatenation string to work correctly? How can I get the same effect (replacing the current content of the "mainContent" div with an iframe tag using a different method? • No exit option if something is running

  How can I catch something going on if the user chooses the exit option from a menu? I mean I'd like to be able to manage the event of a user who is going to close the application but some activity is being performed so he/she shouldn't be able to exit. Here's the code I wrote. • Zend Framework additional Get params with NGINX

• F# function calling syntax confusion

  I have a piece of code: links |> Seq.map (fun x -> x.GetAttributeValue ("href", "no url")) Which I wanted to rewrite to: links |> Seq.map (fun x -> (x.GetAttributeValue "href" "no url")) But the F# compiler doesn't seem to like that. I was under the impression that these two function calls were interchangeable: f (a, b) (f a b) The error that I get is: The member or object constructor 'GetAttributeValue' taking 2 arguments are not accessible from this code location. All accessible versions of method 'GetAttributeValue' take 2 arguments. Which seems amusing, as it seems to indicate that it needs what I'm giving it. What am I missing here?

• Preserve trailing whitespace Sybase

  I have a big chunk of textual data which I split and write multiple rows of a varchar(255) column of a table. Sometimes, the last character happens to be a space. When I read back this row, the trailing space is chopped and I get only 254 characters. This messes up my data when I append the next row to the end of this one. My code sends the full 255 char (incl space) to the DB API. How can I check that the trailing space is actually written to the table? I am not in a position to rewrite/redesign legacy code. Is there any setting - either in the DB, DB interface, read/write calls etc - that I can use to preserve the trailing space?

• Problem with httpContext.RewritePath on IIS 7

  I am using httpContext.RewritePath in Global.asax for som URLrewriting, and it works very well in my development environment on the Cassini server. But when I copy it to the production server, witch is a IIS 7 it isn't working. I have also tried to use Context.Server.TransferRequest but thne I get the error: "This operation requires IIS integrated pipeline mode." on both Cassini and IIS 7, and on IIS 7 the website is running in "Integreret" mode in the AppPool. I rewrite all urls on the website like /[The main menuname]/[pagename].aspx fx from /web/thesite.aspx?mainmenu=manager to /manager/thesite.aspx OR /web/theOtherSite.aspx?mainmenu=about to /about/theOtherSite.aspx And so on...   Hi - I've been using Log4Perl extensively in a number of scripts. I'd like to augment those scripts to set an error code if any WARN or ERROR messages have been logged. I couldn't find any obvious way to do this based on existing documentation. I'd like to avoid a brute-force rewrite of my existing scripts to add a check on every WARN or ERROR log message; I'd prefer to handle it prior to script exit if possible like this pseudocode: if $log->has_warnings_or_errors then exit 1 else exit 0 Is there any easy way to call Log4Perl to determine if the current logger has issues messages of certain levels?   Hi: So I was editing a file on my local machine and I was ready to commit to the repository except that instead of running the svn commit, I ran svn update. Is there any way I can retrieve the changes that I had? I was working on a tex file in vim and I had closed the file before running svn update. Thanks. EDIT: I'm sorry - I completely was worried for nothing (project deadline in 30 mins and I thought I deleted all my changes). I realize that when I run svn update, it doesn't rewrite the local changes but tries to merge the files if there are no conflicts. Can someone tell me how to close or remove this post? Thanks.

• More HTTP verbs with AS3?

  I'm developing a social game in Flash with a team of developers. Our server-side guy has developed a really slick RESTful API for the Flash client to talk to. A lot of the client-server interactions involve adding and removing objects from a persistent world, so the API makes extensive use of the PUT and DELETE verbs. The problem is, the URLRequest object in AS3 only supports the GET and POST verbs. We're on a strict schedule, and we'd really rather not have to rewrite the whole API to just use GET and POST. Has anyone come up with a good way to get Flash to send other verbs?

  I want to log on to two sites simultaneously to enable a single sign on solution. We have a smallish wiki that is created with Apple wiki and we have an intranet site on a aspx cms system by Elcom. Both use Active Directory for credentials. Currently they are on different domains, but we could enable a rewrite using our load-balancer (Citrix Netscaler) or IIS. These sites are on different servers, one a mysterious Mac system and the other an IIS v6.0 on windows 2003. Now I am almost certain that a reverse proxy set up will solve this but I really just need someone to agree that this solves this issue, and if there are things I should look out for what they might be. I just want to have an invisible log on screen in an iframe and enter clone the user name and password using javascript.

  hi, I was wondering what's the best way to switch a website to a temporary "under costruction" page and switch it back to the new version. For example, in a website, my customer decided to switch from Joomla to Drupal and I had to create a subfolder for the new CMS, and then move all the content to the root folder. 1) Moving all the content back to the root folder always create some problems with file permissions, links, etc... 2) Creating a rewrite rule in .htaccess or forward with php is not a solution because another url is shown including the top folder. 3) Many host services do not allow to change the root directory, so this is not an option since I don't have access to apache config file.   I'm just about finished my first release of automailer, a program I've been working on for a while now. I've just got to finish writing the installer. Its job is to rewrite the codigniter configs from templates. I've got the read/write stuff working, but I'd like to be able to test the server credentials given by the user without codingiter throwing a system error if they're wrong. Is there a function other than mysql_connect that I can use to test a connection that will return true or false and won't make codeigniter have a fit?

• Java Authenticator on a per connection basis?

  I'm building an Eclipse plugin that talks to a REST interface which uses Basic Authentication. When the authentication fails I would like to popup my plugin's settings dialog and retry. Normally I could use the static Authenticator.setDefault() to setup an authenticator for all HttpURLConnection's for this, but since I am writing a plugin I don't want to overwrite Eclipse's default Authenticator (org.eclipse.ui.internal.net.auth); I thought of setting my custom Authenticator before loading and putting Eclipse's default back afterwards, but I imagine this will cause all sorts of race issues with multithreading so I quickly lost that notion. Google searches yield all sorts of results basically telling me it's not possible: The Java URLConnection API should have a setAuthenticator(Authenticator) method for making it easier to use this class in multi-threaded context where authentication is required. Source If applications contains few third party plugins and each plugin use its own Authenticator what we should do? Each invocation of "Authenticator.setDefault()" method rewrite previously defined Authenticator... Source Are there any different approaches that might help me overcome this issue?
