  I am working on a preexisting web application built with JSP, which uses an external Java library. I want to make some JavaBeans that were instantiated with jsp:useBean tags available to the Java code. What would be a good practice to do that? I suppose I can pass the objects in question to every function call that requires them, but I'd like to avoid that.

• Dynamically burn Feedburner feeds?

  We have a Drupal website with a seperate RSS feed for every blogger on the site. There will be an indeterminate number of new users signing up and blogging in the future. Drupal automatically generates an RSS feed for each new blog. Is there a way to automatically burn each feed as well? We'd like to avoid manually adding a new feed to Feedburner every time a new user starts their blog.

• CSS3 new features...whats the point?

  I've been reading a lot of ways recently of how to avoid having to use Photoshop for things like gradients and shadows on buttons, when you can use CSS3 Box Shadow for such features. Now this is great, but obviously legacy browsers and most IE browsers don't yet implement CSS3 features, so my question is, why save yourself extra work in Photoshop when you can use CSS3 but then HAVE to use Photoshop for other browsers to see the desired effects? Isn't that just extra work?

  I'm taking a look at jQuery templates. It looks really interesting - easy syntax, easy to use, very clean. However, I can't really see why it's better to use jQuery templates instead of simply fetching partial views via AJAX. It simply seems like the partial views would be much easier to maintain and helps to avoid duplication of code. I want to use jQuery templates. But when would it be better than partial views?

  If I allocate memory in one thread in C++ (either new or malloc) can I de-allocate it in another, or must both occur in the same thread? Ideally, I'd like to avoid this in the first place, but I'm curious to know is it legal, illegal or implementation dependent. Edit: The compilers I'm currently using include VS2003, VS2008 and Embedded C++ 4.0, targetting XP, Vista, Windows 7 and various flavours of Windows CE / PocketPC & Mobile.   I am very bad at regular expressions, but I have a regular expression that is working okay, except for one issue: /\/(.*?).php/ I only need this regular expression to find things like: /this-a-valid-page.php {some words here} /anotherpage.php { some words here} http://www.google.com but do not find URLs the problem i am having is that it find this parts of full URLS i want it to avoid these all together. http://www.google.com/page.php because i have another function that does something different than the filename reg exp.

  I know Oracle offers several refreshmode options for their materialized views (on demand, on commit, periodically). Does Microsoft SQLServer offer the same functions for their indexed views? If not, how can I else use indexed views on SQLServer if my purpose is to export data on a daily+ on-demand basis, and want to avoid performance overhead problems? Does a workaround exist?

  In my code, I am using an array xyz of 10 objects. When I am trying to access an element of the array using an unsigned int index like this: xyz[level], I get 'Buffer overrun' warning. Logically, I am pretty sure that level won't exceed 10. How to avoid this warning?
