  Hello everyone, I have trouble understanding how to avoid the n+1 select in jpa or hibernate. From what i read, there's the 'left join fetch', but i'm not sure if it still works with more than one list (oneToMany).. Could someone explain it to me, or give me a link with a clear complete explanation please ? I'm sorry if this is a noob question, but i can't find a real clear article or doc on this issue. Thanks

  Hi, Is it possible to return a single value and an enumerable collection using LINQ to SQL? The problem is, I'm trying to do paging across a large recordset. I only want to return 10 rows at a time so I'm using .Skip(20).Take(10) approach. However I need to know the total number of records so I can show an appropriate page x of y.   i have written a object selection algorithm which picks the objects by there color. i give every object an unique color and then i just have to use the glReadPixels method to check which object was selected this works fine and is really fast but the problem is that the frame is displayed on the screen with all the picking-colors so the screen flashes every time you select something. so my question is: how do i write everything in the correct display buffer but dont display it on the screen to avoid these flashes?

  Hi there, I feel like this is quite delicate, I have various folders whith projects I would like to backup into a zip/tar file, but would like to avoid backing up files such as pyc files and temporary files. I also have a Postgres db I need to backup. Any tips for running this operation as a python script? Also, would there be anyway to stop the process from hogging resources in the process?   I need to render an ASP page to a string from an MVC controller action. I can use Server.Execute() to render a .aspx page, but not a .asp page. Here's what I'm using: public ActionResult Index() { Server.Execute("/default.asp"); return new EmptyResult(); } which returns `No http handler was found for request type 'GET'` Any suggestions? I can do something similar with with a web request, but I'd rather avoid the overhead of a loopback request.

  What is the best way to set the RGB components of every pixel in a System.Drawing.Bitmap to a single, solid color? If possible, I'd like to avoid manually looping through each pixel to do this. Note: I want to keep the same alpha component from the original bitmap. I only want to change the RGB values. I looked into using a ColorMatrix or ColorMap, but I couldn't find any way to set all pixels to a specific given color with either approach.

• If I add a public method to a C# class, do I need to recompile other assemblies using that type?

I'd like to avoid recompiling since the source code I'm modifying is third party and I'd like to use the original binaries where possible, and replace only the assembly which contains the class I modified. But I'm not sure if this is a safe thing to do. In C++ for example this is definitely a bad idea.
