  • Unable to Install SQL Server 2008 on Win Server 2008 R2 Datacenter

    I have been trying for the past three days to install SQL Server 2008 with SharePoint integrated mode in VMware Player, however I keep getting the following error: Reporting Services in SharePoint integrated mode is not supported for WORKGROUP edition I setup ADDS and have my computer part of that domain (therefore not a WORKGROUP). I am currently at my wits end and any help would be appreciated. Current Roles installed: Application Server, Active Directory Domain Services, Web Server (IIS) Features: Desktop Experience, Group Policy Management, Ink and Handwriting Services, Remote Server Administration Tools, Windows Process Activation Service, .NET Framework 3.5.1 Features

I have Adobe Media Encoder and can easily create files that play on my PC but when I copy them to the phone the media player app just complains that it can't play them.     i have a icy box ib mp3010hw media player i have it on wireless and have it connected to my tp link wr641g router and can access the radio on the net the problem i have is vista sp2 does not see it and i don't know how to go about making it find it. i ran the ping test i think it is by going through Firefox ip addy is 192.168.1.101 and it came up with a simple HTML+cgi example which im assuming means it working. i don't know wot else to do.

In one single DVD I have 4~6 movies and they play very nice (with good quality) in my DVD player! I've downloaded Handbrake and DVD43. But I don't know the settings to get those nice results.     hey guys i have a porject where i have to be able to view my webcam on my mobile phone, which happens to be a blackberry bold 9700 but can also get a hold of an i pod touch so either phone is ok to use. the problem that i have is that everytime i do a search for help on this i end up with a program which enevitably asks for money and this is not allowd in the project, ive been trying to stream using vlc player and viewing it on the opera mini for blackberry but no such luck so far, any help would be great thanks a lot

    I watch instructional videos that play in Silverlight such as the ones at http://windowsclient.net/learn. I watch them in full screen on my left monitor. While the video is playing, I want to be able to type notes in a text editor on my right monitor. However, as soon as I press a key, the video exits full screen mode. How can I force the Silverlight player to stay in full screen mode even as I type in another application?

Published Flash Player (SWF) files and projectors are unable to load content located on networked drives or folder. More than one instance of a SWF or Projector on client machines cannot play back FLV files located on a networked drive or folder. Reason The Adobe Flash IDE, FLV Encoder, Adobe Media Encoderand Flash Player were not designed to function across LANs. Solution Use of Flash files across local networks is not supported in any context. Published content should access data through a web server. All file sources should be opened and saved on the local system. I cannot work on files located on a mapped network drive? How did they mess that one up? Does the Flash IDE really open the source file and wipe it clean to do the saving, rather than saving a copy first then replacing it as an atomic file system operation? How hard would it be for them make a dummy temporary file for saving then issue a MOVE command? Any workarounds for this, like something that can make a network drive as stable as a local drive, like some kind of automatic local caching and synching?

  • Optical SPDIF audio from motherboard not working with receiver

    Hi, I hope someone can help; I can't get my SPDIF optical out working through my receiver and all the responses I can see on the web assume you have a sound card, while I settled for the (seemingly high end) sound on my motherboard (Asus P7P55D-E PRO), which appears to limit some of my options. My set-up is a "new out of the box" one and is: *Windows 7 PC (using PowerDVD10 for DVDs/Blurays and Windows media player for music) *Asus P7P55D-E PRO motherboard - has 8-channel audio TRS jacks and SPDIF optical and coaxial out *An old Yamaha receiver, whose only multi-channel input options are optical in and 6 channel RCA in. However, it still can handle DTS and DD *Boston Acoustic Soundware XS 5.1 speakers I've currently got the SPDIF optical out from the motherboard connected to the in on my receiver, have SPDIF enabled in the sound menu and the light is glowing red down the fibre. But I'm getting no sound at all. What I want is to be able to play DVDs/BluRays in 5.1 but also to be able to play music in multi-channel mode (even though I know this will be "fake" multichannel; it's more about where I sit in the room and my requirement to use the sub because the Boston is a satellite/sub set-up) My questions are: *Will optical work at all for multi-channel? THe latest posts I can see suggest it does but some people seem to say optical only outputs stereo. Whom to believe? *Even if it does work, I've read that I have to disable AC-3 decoding, or make various other changes, which don't seem to be possible without the menu options that a sound-card brings. Is the motherboard-only option just too inflexible? *Although my SPDIF device is enabled in the sound menu, it insists under "Jack information" that it is a "rear panel RCA jack", when of course it is not (both TOSLINK and rCA jacks do exist). Has the PC just forgotten that it has an optical? *I think I could relatively easily connect the 8-channel 3.5mm TRS jacks to my receiver 6-ch input jacks by way of TRS/RCA cables, but would that not stop me from being able to play music from media-player in multi-channel mode, as I'm not sure the motherboard can cope *Or do I need to bite the bullet and buy a sound-card? And if so, how can I be sure the one I get doesn't have the same problem? Any thoughts gratefully received, Cheers, simon

  • Hide Spotify from Windows 7 Task Bar

    When Spotify is running, it shows a little icon in the activity field. On most operative systems, closing the Spotify window minimizes the player to the activity window, freeing up space in the task bar - but not in Windows 7, it seems. I think it's a little uneccessary to have two icons in almost the same place that does almost the same thing. Is there anyway to hide a program icon from the task bar, in this case specifically Spotify?

    What I want to do is to setup a "sort of" radio in my college LAN in which, when I play music in any of the media player installed in my computer, I can share the same to other PCs on LAN via just an M3U file. Also, other PCs should be playing the music on that M3U file, what is being played right now on my "music" server (just like a radio station).     Is there a built-in way to defragment a folder? I am using VM Player so I would like my 3 GB disk image to be defragmented if possible. FYI my disk partition that the image lies in has 12 GB left and has roughly 90% of the disk used. I probably would not need a defrag but I would like to do it if it's possible.

  • Is there a good command-line OS from which I can launch VMs?

    Generally speaking, I'm interested in something that can load quickly and, depending on what I want to do, can choose to launch a Virtual Machine that is tailored to my desired activity. So, something that loads to (preferably) a command line, then if I want to run my Windows 7 machine that has all of my programming junk on it, I can simply enter the command to launch some VM player and close it when I'm done.

    Hi, I have tried running windows xp development virtual machine under windows 7 and the performance was dreadful. I'm considering installing Linux and running the virtual machine from the Linux, but I'm not sure whether I can expect any performance gains? It's a 2.4ghz core 2 duo machine with 4gb ram and 5400 rpm hdd. Can somebody please recommend very cut down version of linux that can run VMWare player and isn't resource hungry? Thank you
