  Hi I am using the datatables jquery plugin and want to sorty by dates. I know they got a plugin but I can't find where to actually download it from http://datatables.net/plug-ins/sorting I believe I need this file: dataTables.numericComma.js yet I can't find it anywhere and when I download datatables it does not seem to be in the zip file. I am also not sure if I need to make my own custom date sorter to pass into this plugin. I am trying to sort this format MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM TT(AM |PM) Thanks

• Make fancybox jQuery plugin with results from submitting a form on same page

  I am trying to take form results that are generated from a PHP call and populate them into a div that will then appear in a light box upon click of the submit button. So far I have successfully setup the form and am populating the results on the same page into a hidden div. I can make this div appear no problem in a light box by setting up a href link but cannot make it show up by simply by clicking the submit button. I know my fancybox and jQuery calls are good but not sure where I'm going wrong on the submit button. • Firefox crashes with mulitple Uploadify JQuery browse buttons and ajax

  Hi, I'm using four JQuery Uploadify browse buttons on a page that's calling the Uploadify code/buttons through Ajax. We have a javascript function called from onComplete which refreshes the Ajax page. The problem we're encountering is that when you start uploading one file, if you click browse to upload another file, Firefox will crash when selecting the second file. Any help is appreciated.   OK I think I get http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1991126/difference-jquery-extend-and-jquery-fn-extend in that the general extend can extend any object, and that fn.extend is for plugin functions that can be invoked straight off the jquery object with some internal jquery voodoo. So it appears one would invoke them differently. If you use general extend to extend object obj by adding function y, then the method would attach to that object, obj.y() but if you use fn.extend then they are attach straight to the jquery object $.y().... Have I got that correct yes or no and if no what do I have wrong in my understanding? Now MY question: The book I am reading advocates using jQuery.fn.extend ({a: function(){}, b: function(){}}); syntax but in the docs it says jQuery.fn.a (function(){}); and I guess if you wanted b as well it would be jQuery.fn.b (function(){}); Are these functionally and performance-wise equivalent and if not what is the difference? • jQuery not and classes

  Hi Guys, I have 2 anchor links (a.selector) and when one is clicked it has a class applied to it of 'active-arrow' and the click also removes the class of the same name from the other anchor as well as lowering the opacity to 0.2. I then want to have a fade effect when the user hovers over the anchor that doesn't have 'active-arrow' applied to it so that it goes to full opacity when mouseenters and back to 0.2 when mouseleaves. The problem im having is that both .not and :not don't seem to be working as expected, the hover effect works but if I click on the anchor whilst hovering the 'active-arrow' class is applied but when mouseleaves the opacity is faded down to 0.2 again even though the 'active-arrow' class is applied. Also the hover then doesn't work for the other a link which has had 'active-arrow' removed.   Hopefully I can explain this well enough, but please let me know if more information is needed! I'm building a form where a user can create an "incident". This incident has the following relationships: belongs_to: customer (customer has_many incidents) belongs_to: user (user has_many incidents) has_one: incident_status (incident_status belongs to incident) The form allows the user to assign the incident to a user (select form) and then select an incident status. The incident is nested in customer. Completed in 55ms (DB: 0) | 302 Found [http://localhost/customers/4/incidents] It looks to me like it's trying to gather information about the user, even though it already has the id (which is all it needs to create the incident), and the user may not have permission to do a select statement like that? I'm rather confused. So in summary, when I submit the incident creation form, it does not save the incident because it halts. I'm still very new to rails, so my skill at diagnosing problems like this is still very bad. • Rails add a param to the end of a search query

  Hello, I am trying to implement a sort on the returned results of a search with rails. Filter by: 'recent' % | 'lowest_price' % | 'highest_price' % here are my links. I would like to add a filter to the end of my search query. So for example, I submit a search and I get back results and in my url I have http://localhost:3000/junks?search=handbag&condition=&category=&main_submit=Go! I would then like the user to be able to click one of the above links and have the page come back with a new query (i have this set up in the controller like such) con_id = params[:condition] if params[:category].nil? || params[:category].empty? cat_id = params[:category] results = Junk.search params[:search], :with => { :category_id => cat_id, :condition_id => con_id } case params[:filter] when "lowest_price" @junks = results.lowest_price.paginate :page => params[:page], :per_page => 12 when "highest_price" @junks = results.highest_price.paginate :page => params[:page], :per_page => 12 else @junks = results.paginate :page => params[:page], :per_page => 12 end else I would like the user to be able to click on of the above links and append a filter param to the end of the search query so that my controller can pick it up and call the correct database queries as seen in the case statement above. I'm guessing the url will look like this http://localhost:3000/junks?search=handbag&condition=&category=&main_submit=Go!&filter="lowest_price" How can I do this? Is there a better way?

• Chrome plugin process - npapi plugin

  Hi, I'm writing an npapi plugin in Qt. My plugin works perfectly on firefox and opera. The problem in chrome i guess is regarding the "process-per-plugin" setup. What happens is, when i first open a page, the plugin is injected and all works as per expected. But when i navigate from that page to another one, in the new page, the plugin seems to get injected but even its constructor isnt called. To examine the issue, I tried killing my plugin process via the chrome task manager before i navigate to the new page. When i do this, the plugin works as expected in the 2nd page too. I'm unable to comprehend what is happening here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

• AppDomain dependencies across directories

  I am creating a plugin system and I am creating one AppDomain per plugin. Each plugin has its own directory with its main assemblies and references. The main assemblies will be loaded by my plugin loader, in addition to my interface assemblies (so the plugin can interact with the application). Creating the AppDomain: this.appDomain = AppDomain.CreateDomain("AppDomain", null, new AppDomainSetup { ApplicationBase = pluginPath, PrivateBinPath = pluginPath, }); Loading the assemblies: this.appDomain.Load(myInterfaceAssembly.GetName(true)); var assemblies = new List<Assembly>(); foreach (var assemblyName in this.assemblyNames) { assemblies.Add(this.appDomain.Load(assemblyName)); } The format of assemblyName is the assembly's filename without ".dll". The problem is that AppDomain.Load(assemblyName) throws an exception: Could not load file or assembly '[[assemblyName]], Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. All of the dependencies of [[assemblyName]] are: Inside the directory pluginPath, The myInterfaceAssembly which is already loaded, or In the GAC (e.g. mscorelib). Clearly I'm not doing something right. I have tried: Creating an object using this.appDomain.CreateInstanceAndUnwrap inheriting from MarshalByRefObject with a LoadAssembly method to load the assembly. I get an exception saying that the current assembly (containing the proxy class) could not be loaded (file not found, as above), even if I manually call this.appDomain.Load(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetName(true)). Attaching an AssemblyResolve handler to this.appDomain. I'm met with the same exception as in (1), and manually loading doesn't help. Recursively loading assemblies by loading their dependencies into this.appDomain first. • loading js files and other dependent js files asynchronously

  I'm looking for a clean way to asynchronously load the following types of javascript files: a "core" js file (hmm, let's just call it, oh i don't know, "jquery!" haha), x number of js files that are dependent on the "core" js file being loaded, and y number of other unrelated js files. I have a couple ideas of how to go about it, but not sure what the best way is. I'd like to avoid loading scripts in the document body. So for example, I want the following 4 javascript files to load asynchronously, appropriately named: /js/my-contact-page-js-functions.js // unrelated/independent script /js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js // the "core" script /js/jquery.color.min.js // dependent on jquery being loaded http://thirdparty.com/js/third-party-tracking-script.js // another unrelated/independent script But this won't work because it's not guaranteed that jQuery is loaded before the color plugin... (Since the color plugin requires that jQuery is loaded first.) The first method I was considering is to just combine the color plugin script with jQuery source into one file. • in rails should i be installing as a gem or a plugin

  I am trying to use acts_as_audited plugin. Should I be installing it as a gem (put it in environment.rb) or a plugin? what is the advantage of one over the other. Later on I plan to put this app on the clients server for permanent hosting. so am I better off having it as a gem? if it is as a gem ...when i put the app on the clients server..will I not have to get this plugin again?

• adding jquery validation after form created

In the plugin's documentation there's a section dedicated to pagination, although the demo example is not there, so i can't use it as a starting working point. You can take a look at the documentation here: https://mixitup.kunkalabs.com/extensions/pagination I followed the instructions and used this JS code: $('#Container').mixItUp({ pagination: { generatePagers: true, prevButtonHTML: '«', nextButtonHTML: '»' } }); I put in the markup the emtpy div as stated in the docs: <div class="pager-list"> <!-- Pagination buttons will be generated here --> </div> Nothing happens. Can someone point me in the right direction, I don't know how to go on solving this problem, the plugin seems to support pagination, so I'm hoping to achieve that.
