    I have a UIView with a date picker that I'd like to display in an action sheet. If I comment the two middle lines of code and uncomment the top part to display a regular action sheet, it works fine. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

    In the Android docs on AlertDialog, it gives the following instruction and example for setting a custom view in an AlertDialog: If you want to display a more complex view, look up the FrameLayout called "body" and add your view to it: FrameLayout fl = (FrameLayout) findViewById(R.id.body); fl.add(myView, new LayoutParams(FILL_PARENT, WRAP_CONTENT)); First off, it's pretty obvious that add() is a typo and is meant to be addView(). I'm confused by the first line using R.id.body. It seems that it's the body element of the AlertDialog ... but I can't just enter that in my code b/c it gives a compile error. Where does R.id.body get defined or assigned or whatever?

  • iPad/iPhone duplicate view and resize?

    I'm working on an app that is similar to a Presentation application (Keynote/Powerpoint) for the iPad, that will use the VGA adapter to present on screen. However, if the presenter is using the external display for the presentation, I'm wondering if it's possible to have a miniature version of what's on the external display show up on the main iPad display (along with the presentation controls, which will take up most of the screen). In other words, I'm looking for a way with the iPhone SDK to "bake" the contents of a View (which will contain various Images and Labels in various locations) to an image (or some other static storage), resize it, and re-display it in another view. It would need to be smaller (since I don't want the 1024x768 external display to completely overlay the iPad's main display, only a corner of it), and either live-updating (literally an instance of the other View, just scaled), or be able to be refreshed, such that when updating the external display, the "picture in picture" version of itself would be updated too.

The facebook sharer has 2 views: Post to profile (default view) : And when you click on "send as a Message instead you get : What I'm trying to do is to have the 2nd view (send a message) as the default one. So when the user clicks 'Share this', it would show him directly the "send a message" view. Is that even possible using facebook? or anything else? maybe executing js code after the popups opens ?     The problem I hope to resolve here is that when I click on one item in the ListView that item's background changes to light gray, but when I continue to scroll through the list every 4th item has the background changed to light gray even though those other items have not been clicked. How do I make only the item I clicked be effected by the click? (they're 460 and 416) I suppose the height of NavigationBar is not included in viewDidLoad, but should I add it manually (add 44)?

  • OpenGL view in an iPad splitview

    I'm attempting to add an OpenGL view (such as the one given in Apple's sample code) as the detail view of an iPad's splitview but am running into issues. I've taken the sample code from the base OpenGL project and attempted to add it as a subview of my DetailViewController - ie EAGLView *glview = [[EAGLView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,100,100)] but when I add it to the main view and call startAnimating on it, nothing at all happens. Any solutions to this? I have never worked with OpenGL before so perhaps I'm doing this all wrong.

    Hi, I'm trying to avoid using Interface Builder as much as possible. At the moment I have the view controller created via code and change views via code as well. I now need one of the steps to send the app into a new view with a tab bar, that will allow me to change views as well. Ideally, what I'd do is tell the current view controller to add a Tab Bar to the bottom, but I'm not sure if that's doable, so I might have to swap the UIViewController with a UITabBarController?     I have been working for 4 months on an app, its pretty complex and works fine. Now suddenly, I added a new class and did some changes to the MainWindow.xib with all my views there and now I just get a plain white view when I launch it with simulator. I even stripped it down completely to nothing but the appdelegate and one simple plain view with a button. So basically I've got an app with nothing but an appDelegate managing a tabBar, launching with one simple view, no frameworks no nothing and I still get a white app. There must be an option somewhere that I must have activated for the running of app in simulator but I can't figure it out.     i have an XCode 4 project for mac desktop. It has a tableview in it that uses NSTableCellViews. The TableView is connected to an NSArrayController to provide it's content. This is using bindings for custom labels and the like, which has worked out rather well. I have a custom view that i would like to put in the NSTableCellView, which will use custom drawing based on a NSNumber value from my Table Cell View binding. Since XCode 4, you can no longer have ibplugins, which means i can no longer create custom bindings for interface builder to work with. How can I still get this value to my custom view?

  • How do I stub a view in rspec-2

    I'm in the process of upgrading an app to Rails 3/Rspec 2. I see that stubbing a view helper method has changed in Rspec 2. It looks like instead of doing template.stub!, we're now supposed to do view.stub!, but I can't seem to get this to work on beta 10. I get an "undefined local variable or method `view' for # < RSpec::Core::ExampleGroup::Nested_1::Nested_1::Nested_1:0x106785fd0" error. I see that in this commit David removed the view method, but I can't figure out what it was replaced with. Something in ActionView::TestCase::Behavior? I'm on rails 3.0.0.beta3. Any idea what I'm missing?

  • Modal View Controller Undesirably Hides Tab Bar

    I am working on an application that requires user authentication to access a profile. The profile section is located solely under one tab (and all others tabs do not require authentication). I currently present a authentication view controller modally (and then dismiss on success) when the user selects the profile tab. However, this approach prevents the user from deciding not to register / login (that is, all tabs are hidden once the authentication screen is presented modally). I don't want the user to be able to dismiss the modal view controller, but rather have it modal only for the profile tab. Is this possible? Can I have tabs visible while having a modal view controller? What is the best approach here. Thanks.

    I need to display a couple of view controllers (eg, login screen, registration screen etc). What's the best way to bring each screen up? Currently for each screen that I'd like to display, I call a different method in the app delegate like this: Code: - (void) registerScreen { RegistrationViewController *reg = [[RegistrationViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"RegistrationViewController" bundle:nil]; [window addSubview:reg.view]; } - (void) LoginScreen { LoginViewController *log = [[LoginViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"LoginViewController" bundle:nil]; [window addSubview:log.view]; } It works, but I cant imagine it being the best way.

  • Removing NSOperation from queue when view changes.

    I am creating an application which involves so many web-service calls. I am using NSOperation to execute the web-service calls. There are several views in the application and I'm calling the web-service each time the view loads. Since it is navigation, if user decides to go back to the previous view even before the operation gets completed, another operation is getting into the queue and will be waiting for the previous operation to be completed. Is there any way to stop the previous operation from being executed when its view changes? pls help

    I am trying to use the IB AdMob ad in my app. I followed the instructions provided but I am getting an EXC_BAD_ACCESS from the AdMob class. I am trying to figure out what the problem is. Anyway, my question is Can a ViewController (AdMob AdViewController) control a view that is a subview of the controlled view of another UIViewController? Here is how I set it up: I start off with a UIViewController in IB. Step 1) I add a UIView sized 320 x 48 to the UIView controlled by the UIViewController. Step 2) I add an Object to the hierarchy (not under any other object). Step 3) I set the class of the Object to AdViewController (AdViewController.h of AdMob SDK) Step 4) I set connect the view outlet of the Object to the UIView of Step 1
