  • I have a serious problem to use 'happle' in xcode project.

    Hello. I am a korean student, and I'm trying to develop a iphone application. I want to make the application which will shows contents of Web board, which is belong to some website. I will use 'UITableViewController", and the names of contents have to be displayed on table view. I heard that if I want to scrap the text on webpage, I have to use 'parser'. However, Iphone SDKs provide only the parser for xml webpage, NSXmlParser. In my acknowledges, NSXmlParser is not for HTML webpage, so it doesn't provide HTML parsing. If there is any way to parse HTML page with NSXmlParser, I want to know how to use that. Anyway, I found a simple and good HTML parser, 'happle', through searching on google. I tried to add the sources of happle on my xcode project, and I also add the libxml2.2.dylib, and I even set up 'Header search paths' and 'Other Linker Flags'. However It doesn't work. The Compiler show a error message : "No such file in dictionary". In my opinion, there is no frameworks file in my computer, so I tried to set up 'libxml2 frameworks' many times, but I coundn't success. please help me how to parse HTML page and how to set up libxml2... It really urgent. p.s. please forgive my ugly English

    How to get function's name from function's pointer in C? Edit: The real case is: I'm writing a linux kernel module and I'm calling kernel functions. Some of these functions are pointers and I want to inspect the code of that function in the kernel source. But I don't know which function it is pointing to. I thought it could be done because, when the system fails (kernel panic) it prints out in the screen the current callstack with function's names. But, I guess I was wrong... am I?

  • Move to php in windows? Concern, hints, "please don't do!"?

    I am considering to move frome Microsoft languages to PHP (just for web dev) which has quite an interesting syntax, a perlish look (but a wider programmer base) and it allows me to reuse the web without reinventing it. I have some concerns too. I would be more than happy to gather some wisdom from stackoverflow community, (challenge to my opinions warmly welcome). Here are my doubts. Efficiency. Cgi are slow, what I am supposed to use? Fastcgi? Or what else? Efficiency + stability. Is PHP on windows really stable and a good choice in terms of performances? Database. I use very often MSSQL (I regret, i like it). Could I widely and efficiently interface PHP with MSSQL (using smartly stored pro, for example). XSLT + XML performance. I work quite a lot with XML and XSLT and I really find the MS xml parser a great software component. Are parser used in PHP fast, reliable and efficient (I am interested mainly in DOM, not SAX)? Objects. Is the PHP object programming model valid end efficient? 6 Regex. How efficient is PHP processing regexp? Many thanks for your advices.

  • Slideshow positioning problem

    I have a javascript slideshow that works perfectly on Windows 7, Firefox, Chrome, IE 8+ (I don't have the resources to check 6 or 7) and Opera. But I've been told that when on xp with IE 7 the slidshow gets thrown off screen to the right. What could my issue be?   • Code refactoring c# question around several if statements performing the same check

    I have a method that has a load of if statements that seems a bit silly although I'm not sure how to improve the code. Here's an example. This logic was inside the view which is now in the controller which is far better but is there something I'm missing, maybe a design pattern that stops me having to check against panelCount < NumberOfPanelsToShow and handling the panelCount every condition?     I'm in this project: A web page that's gonna be used by the front-end company people to query and update data from a SQL DB. I'm working with visual studio and the code behind (C#) is almost done, so the interactions between SQL and C# and ok. My original idea was to work with ASP.NET which is familiar to me, but that's not gonna be possible. I have to switch to PHP. So, today is my first day learning PHP, checking http://php.net/manual/en/index.php and a lot of things seem quite similar to ASP.NET so I guess it won't be that hard. Anyways, some questions popped up quite fast as I wanted to script something else than a "hello world" . Is there an easy way to get/send C# variables from my class using a php page? I've read soemthing about using XML in order to do so, but still I'm scratching my head, is there another, easier, way to do this?

  • Named Range Breaks Code

    I have one workbook with several sheets. I populate the listboxes (pulling static data from cells) on the 2nd sheet, click a button and it runs fine. When I populate the listboxes with a named range, the listbox populates the way I want, but I get an error because the code thinks that I didn't select anything in the listbox, even though I did. So it passes through "" instead of "title". Is this a common issue? The named range isn't a problem because it passes through the data to the listbox and I know it's selecting data because as soon as the listbox loses focus, it spits out the contents of the cell into cell A1. What's even stranger is that I have the contents of the listbox set to Msg1. So A1 gets populated with Msg1 (what I actually selected in the listbox). But when I try and use Msg1 in the code, it tells me that Msg1 is "". Again, this only happens when I use the dynamic named range, not with static data in cells K1:K9.   • Making Django ignore string literals

    UPDATE: It turns out this is a deeper question than I thought at first glance - the issue is that python is replacing the string literals before they ever get to django. I will do more investigating and update this if I find a solution. I'm using django to work with LaTeX templates for report generation, and am running into a lot of problems with the way Django replaces parts of strings. Specficially, I've run into two problems where I try to insert a variable containing latex code. The first was that it would replace HTML characters, such as the less than symbol, with their HTML codes, which are of course gibberish to a LaTeX interpreter. I fixed this by setting the context to never autoescape, like so: c = Context(inputs) c.autoescape = False However, I still have my second issue, which is that Django replaces string literals with their corresponding characers, so a double backslash becomes \, and \b becomes a backspace. How can I force Django to leave these characters in place, so inputs['variable'] = '{\bf this is code} \\' won't get mangled when I use {{variable}} to reference it in the django template?

  • activerecord search conditions - looking for null or false

    When doing a search in active record I'm looking for record's that do not have an archived bit set to true. Some of the archived bits are null (which are not archived) others have archived set to false. Obviously, Project.all(:conditions => {:archived => false}) misses the projects with the archived bits with null values. How can all non-archived projects be selected wtih active record?

    I have a C function with the following signature: int my_function(int n, struct player **players) players is a pointer to an array of pointers to struct player objects. n is the number of pointers in the array. The function does not modify the array nor the contents of the structures, and it does not retain any pointers after returning. I tried the following: [DllImport("mylibary.dll")] static extern int my_function(int n, [In, MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPArray, SizeParamIndex = 0)] player_in []players); However, that marshals the data as a pointer to an array of structures, not a pointer to an array of pointers to structures.

  • Dropdown not working in some IE 6 browsers

    We unfortunately find ourselves having to support our product in IE 6 because some of our largest users use it. One of them called today and told me that one of the dropdowns doesn't work when he clicks on it - it simply selects the first item. I checked the markup and the entire contents of the select control are being sent: <select onchange="SDateFilter_S('#ctlDateRange')" size="1" name="ctlDateRange" style="width:100px;"> <option selected="selected" value="0"> All Dates </option><option value="1"> Within </option><option value="2"> Before </option><option value="3"> After </option><option value="4"> Between </option><option value="5"> Last </option><option value="6"> Since </option> </select> This is done in ASP .NET but I am fairly certain the issue isn't with ASP .NET as when I try it in my copy of IE 6, it works correctly. Do you have any idea what would cause a dropdown list in some copies of IE 6 to effectively not work?

Is there a way to set/trigger a nested property (a regular property not DependencyProperty) easily with some kind of simple mechanisms as described here?   • Positioning Photos in a Grid (HTML)

    Hey Everyone, I've been trying to code this page for a while, but my biggest problem is that I can't seem to get the photos perfectly positioned. For some reason, there is a small bottom padding in each <td>which is messing things up.   • Why does the CPU window always appear when trying to debug my project after a rebuild in Delphi 2010

    Hi, Whenever I rebuild my application and try to step into a break-point the CPU window always appears. From what I understand the CPU window appears when DCU does not match up with the source file, however, in my case the DCU's are defintely being re-compiled and there are no old ones lying around or anything like that. The strange thing here is if I close down the application and re-open the project, place the breakpoint and run it works fine. I can even modify files and just press F9 to run the project and it works fine....it only seems to be when I rebuild the project (via IDE Project menu or the project context menu) that this CPU window never breaks into the source (even though it can find it!). I also noticed in the callstack a unit called Generics is always the top of the stack, never the unit my break point is in, this is no way related to where my break point is. Any ideas?

There's all sorts of advanced things I see, but I can never find any solid documentation - there's the shapes package, but it provides no insight on how to use them in xml. The best I can do so far is finding other people's examples. Is there some magical documentation that exists for the XML shapes?

  • Re-authentication required for registered-path links (to ASP.NET site) coming to IE from PowerPoint

    We're using URL routing based on Phil Haack's example, with config modifications based on MSDN Library article #CC668202, to provide "shareable" links for a ASP.NET forms site, and have run into a strange issue: For users attempting to open links from PowerPoint presentations, and who have IE set as their default browser, using one of these links forces (forms-based) re-authentication, even in the same browser instance with a live session. Info: We know the session is still alive. (Page returns information for the currently logged-in user; confirmed via debug watches) This doesn't happen with other browsers (FF, Chrome) or with other programs (Notepad++) as the URL source. We do not have a default path set, as this caused issues with root path handling at initial login. This primarily happens with PowerPoint, but will also happen in Word and OCS. On some machines, even after changing the default browser, Office apps will continue to use IE for these links, forcing this error. (A potential registry fix for this failed, but even if it had worked, we can't control default browser choice for our users.) We can't figure out if this is an Office oddity or is being caused by our decision to use app-level URL routing (rather than IIS rewriting). Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution?

  • sql server 2005 replication article conflict

    Hi all, I have a sql server 2005 database that I want to setup replication for. The problem is that the database has two schemas both of which have a table with the same name in it. For some reason even though the tables are in different schemas the replication creation fails when done through management studio due to conflicting article names (i assume its trying to create the same name for both tables in the different schemas). Is there any workaround for doing this in the studio, I can probably write a script or program to do this but just for this one thign is a bit annoying and it probably wont be allowed to run in production. Perhaps there is a hot fix or something I'm not aware about? Cheers,
