  • Installing PyGraphViz on Windows, Python 2.7

    - by user574043
    I can't install pygraphviz on Windows XP. I'm using Python27. Before to launch the setup I've changet these two variables of the setup.py file library_path="C:\\Archivos de programa\\Graphviz 2.28\\bin" include_path="C:\\Archivos de programa\\Graphviz 2.28\\include\\graphviz" Then I've launched the setup. I'm using mingw32 as a compiler. I don't know what can I do now. I'm using the following command: C:\Python27\pygraphviz-1.1>c:\python27\python setup.py build -c mingw32 And I've got the folling result library_path=C:\Archivos de programa\Graphviz 2.28\bin include_path=C:\Archivos de programa\Graphviz 2.28\include\graphviz running build running build_py running build_ext building 'pygraphviz._graphviz' extension C:\MinGW\bin\gcc.exe -mno-cygwin -mdll -O -Wall "-IC:\Archivos de programa\Graphviz 2.28\include\graphviz" -Ic:\python27\include -Ic:\python 27\PC -c pygraphviz/graphviz_wrap.c -o build\temp.win32-2.7\Release\pygraphviz\graphviz_wrap.o pygraphviz/graphviz_wrap.c: In function 'agattr_label': pygraphviz/graphviz_wrap.c:2855:5: warning: return makes integer from pointer without a cast writing build\temp.win32-2.7\Release\pygraphviz\_graphviz.def Traceback (most recent call last): File "setup.py", line 146, in <module> package_data = package_data File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\core.py", line 152, in setup dist.run_commands() File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 953, in run_commands self.run_command(cmd) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 972, in run_command cmd_obj.run() File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\command\build.py", line 127, in run self.run_command(cmd_name) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\cmd.py", line 326, in run_command self.distribution.run_command(command) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 972, in run_command cmd_obj.run() File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 340, in run self.build_extensions() File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 449, in build_extensions self.build_extension(ext) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 531, in build_extension target_lang=language) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\ccompiler.py", line 741, in link_shared_object extra_preargs, extra_postargs, build_temp, target_lang) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\cygwinccompiler.py", line 260, in link target_lang) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\unixccompiler.py", line 218, in link libraries) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\ccompiler.py", line 1121, in gen_lib_options opt = compiler.runtime_library_dir_option(dir) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\unixccompiler.py", line 285, in runtime_library_dir_option compiler = os.path.basename(sysconfig.get_config_var("CC")) File "c:\python27\lib\ntpath.py", line 198, in basename return split(p)[1] File "c:\python27\lib\ntpath.py", line 170, in split d, p = splitdrive(p) File "c:\python27\lib\ntpath.py", line 125, in splitdrive if p[1:2] == ':': TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not subscriptable Any idea on how to solve it over windows?   • Context Menu Shell Extension not working under Windows 7 64-bit

    - by Smejda
I created very simple Context Menu using Shell Extension in C#. It works fine under Windows XP 32 bit but under Windows 7 64 bits menu items not appearing. I tried to build Setup output to x64 but no effect. Simple Source contains ContextMenu and Setup project is under http://bit.ly/9nGd41 Looks like Wow6432 should be handled by Setup project, same for registration and adding to Global Assembly Cache I would be appreciate for help / suggestions with this issue.

  • Problems with installing jcc and pylucene

    - by Christian
I'm trying to install pylucene on Windows XP. I installed JDK on C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_18 . I also installed Visual Studio C++ Express to have a C++ compiler. As first step I'm trying to integrate jcc into python2.6 through the command: C:\Python26\python.exe setup.py build This gives me the following result: C:\Installfiles\pylucene-3.0.1-1\jcc>C:\Python26\python.exe setup.py build Traceback (most recent call last): File "setup.py", line 332, in <module> main('--debug' in sys.argv) File "setup.py", line 289, in main raise type(e), "%s: %s" %(e, args) WindowsError: [Error 2] Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden: ['jav ac.exe', '-d', 'jcc/classes', 'java/org/apache/jcc/PythonVM.java', 'java/org/apa che/jcc/PythonException.java'] Other information: In systems I set: Uservariables: CLASSPATH C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_18\bin\javac.exe System Variables Path %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem; C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_18\bin Where does the error come from and what do I have to do to overcome it?

  • How to build an android test app with a dependency on another app using ant?

    - by Mike
I have a module called MyApp, and another module called MyAppTests which has a dependency on MyApp. Both modules produce APKs, one named MyApp.apk and the other MyAppTests.apk. I normally build these in IntelliJ or Eclipse, but I'd like to create an ant buildfile for them for the purpose of continuous integration. I used "android update" to create a buildfile for MyApp, and thanks to commonsware's answer to my previous question I've been able to build it successfully using ant. I'd now like to build MyAppTests.apk using ant. I constructed the buildfile as before using "android update", but when I run it I get an error indicating that it's not finding any of the classes in MyApp. Taking a que from my previous question, I tried putting MyApp.apk into my MyAppTests/libs, but unfortunately that didn't miraculously solve the problem. What's the best way to build a test app APK using ant when it depends on classes in another APK? $ ant debug Buildfile: build.xml [setup] Project Target: Google APIs [setup] Vendor: Google Inc. • Choosing an installer product that is free and will download/install the .NET Framework

    - by Coder7862396
I'm currently using the Visual Studio Installer (Setup Project) in Visual Studio 2010 as the installer for MyProgram. It has some quirky bugs and is not very customizable so I would like to switch to another installer product. Here are my requirements: Must be free (and licensed for commercial use) Must install the Windows Installer 3.1 and .NET Framework 4.0 if the client doesn't have them The installer will download them if they are not available The code for detecting the .NET Framework and downloading it must be written by Microsoft (I do not want to have to update hard-coded URLs and registry keys in the future). I know that the Windows SDK includes a setup bootstrap that does this (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bootstrapper) In the future, when .NET Framework 5 is released and MyProgram uses it, no installer code will need to be changed, the updated installer product should see that MyProgram now uses the .NET Framework version 5 and will install that Here are my current choices: Visual Studio Installer: Automatically detects/downloads/installs Windows Installer and .NET Framework using a bootstrapper Setup.exe (Good!) Limited/buggy functionality (Uninstall shortcuts in the Start Menu cause empty folders to be left behind during uninstall, asking the user if they want a desktop shortcut requires a lot of work, etc.) NSIS: Doesn't natively support the .NET Framework so adding it as a prerequisite requires excessive coding, hardcoded URLS, etc. Inno Setup: Doesn't natively support the .NET Framework so adding it as a prerequisite requires excessive coding, hardcoded URLs, etc. WiX: Steep learning curve... not sure if I want to spend weeks learning it only to find out that it has the same uninstall problem as the Visual Studio Installer (because they both use MSI files) InstallShield LE 2010: Downloading it requires me to setup a fake email account to register just to download it. Then once it is installed it has to contact the company's servers and transmit some private information to them before I'm even allowed to try the free version. This is the most insidious form of DRM that there is and I will not accept it.

  • How to use javascript class from within document ready

    - by Richard
Hi, I have this countdown script wrapped as an object located in a separate file Then when I want to setup a counter, the timeout function in the countdown class can not find the object again that I have setup within the document ready. I sort of get that everything that is setup in the document ready is convined to that scope, however it is possible to call functions within other document ready´s. Does anyone has a solution on how I could setup multiple counters slash objects. Or do those basic javascript classes have to become plugins This is some sample code on how the class begins function countdown(obj) { this.obj = obj; this.Div = "clock"; this.BackColor = "white"; this.ForeColor = "black"; this.TargetDate = "12/31/2020 5:00 AM"; this.DisplayFormat = "%%D%% Days, %%H%% Hours, %%M%% Minutes, %%S%% Seconds."; this.CountActive = true; this.DisplayStr; this.Calcage = cd_Calcage; this.CountBack = cd_CountBack; this.Setup = cd_Setup; } thanks, Richard

  • JUnit Rule TemporaryFolder

    - by Jeff Storey
I'm creating a TemporaryFolder using the @Rule annotation in JUnit 4.7. I've tried to create a new folder that is a child of the temp folder using tempFolder.newFolder("someFolder") in the @Before (setup) method of my test. It seems as though the temporary folder gets initialized after the setup method runs, meaning I can't use the temporary folder in the setup method. Is this correct (and predictable) behavior? thanks, Jeff

  • Problem using easy_install on Windows 7, 64 bit. (cannot find python.exe)

    - by Rune
Hi, I have just now installed Python 2.6 on my Windows 7 (64 bit) Lenovo t61p laptop. I have downloaded Sphinx and nose and apparently installed them correctly using python setup.py install (at least no errors were reported during the installation). Now I am trying to install pymongo using easy_install but I am not having much success. It seems that easy_install isn't working at all. I execute easy_install as administrator: C:\>easy_install Cannot find Python executable C:\Program Files\Python26\python.exe The path C:\Program Files\Python26\python.exe is correct. I have found this bug report on bugs.python.org which seems to be related, although its status is 'Resolved'. Do you have any ideas as to what may be wrong? Any pointers, hints or tips for diagnosing the problem further would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: This is the stacktrace I receive when trying to install pymongo: C:\Users\Rune Ibsen\Documents\Downloads\pymongo-1.4>python setup.py install running install running bdist_egg running egg_info writing pymongo.egg-info\PKG-INFO writing top-level names to pymongo.egg-info\top_level.txt writing dependency_links to pymongo.egg-info\dependency_links.txt reading manifest file 'pymongo.egg-info\SOURCES.txt' reading manifest template 'MANIFEST.in' writing manifest file 'pymongo.egg-info\SOURCES.txt' installing library code to build\bdist.win-amd64\egg running install_lib running build_py running build_ext building 'pymongo._cbson' extension Traceback (most recent call last): File "setup.py", line 166, in <module> "doc": doc}) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\core.py", line 152, in setup dist.run_commands() File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 975, in run_commands self.run_command(cmd) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 995, in run_command cmd_obj.run() File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\site-packages\setuptools-0.6c9-py2.6.egg\setuptools\command\install.py", line 76, in run File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\site-packages\setuptools-0.6c9-py2.6.egg\setuptools\command\install.py", line 96, in do_egg_install File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\cmd.py", line 333, in run_command self.distribution.run_command(command) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 995, in run_command cmd_obj.run() File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\site-packages\setuptools-0.6c9-py2.6.egg\setuptools\command\bdist_egg.py", line 174, in run File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\site-packages\setuptools-0.6c9-py2.6.egg\setuptools\command\bdist_egg.py", line 161, in call_command File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\cmd.py", line 333, in run_command self.distribution.run_command(command) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 995, in run_command cmd_obj.run() File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\site-packages\setuptools-0.6c9-py2.6.egg\setuptools\command\install_lib.py", line 20, in run File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\command\install_lib.py", line 113, in build self.run_command('build_ext') File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\cmd.py", line 333, in run_command self.distribution.run_command(command) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 995, in run_command cmd_obj.run() File "setup.py", line 107, in run build_ext.run(self) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 340, in run self.build_extensions() File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 449, in build_extensions self.build_extension(ext) File "setup.py", line 117, in build_extension build_ext.build_extension(self, ext) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 499, in build_extension depends=ext.depends) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\msvc9compiler.py", line 448, in compile self.initialize() File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\msvc9compiler.py", line 358, in initialize vc_env = query_vcvarsall(VERSION, plat_spec) File "C:\Program Files\Python26\lib\distutils\msvc9compiler.py", line 274, in query_vcvarsall raise ValueError(str(list(result.keys()))) ValueError: [u'path'] C:\Users\Rune Ibsen\Documents\Downloads\pymongo-1.4> PS.: I previously installed Python 3.1 but later installed 2.6 because I am not sure whether pymongo supports 3.1. • Managing Team Development on Shared Website

    - by stjowa
I need to know the best way to manage team web-development on a shared server (hostgator). I have done some individual web development on a shared server in the past, and I have always setup SVN through SSH to have a pretty-nice development workflow (version control, quick-commits, work though eclipse/subclipse, etc). However, I also know that with that setup, I had to make some pretty-sophisticated post-commit hooks to export the repository to /public_html; and, therefore, making the repository code testable. This seems like a tedious and error-prone setup for an entire team. I would like to be able to: Easily test the latest code in the repository. Somewhat easily move the code in the repository to production. Use an IDE like eclipse/subclipse to easily work with the repository. With this in mind, does anyone know of a good version-control/repository setup for developing a website with a team of about 4-5 people? Thanks a lot.

  • How to install MySQLdb package? (ImportError: No module named setuptools)

    - by Verrtex
Hi All, I am trying to install MySQLdb package. I found the source code here. By the way, if I am able to do the described step, I will need to do the following: sudo python setup.py install And I have no system-administrator-rights. Do I still have a chance to install MySQLdb? Thank you.

  • Why can't I include these data files in a Python distribution using distutils?

    - by froadie
I'm writing a setup.py file for a Python project so that I can distribute it. The aim is to eventually create a .egg file, but I'm trying to get it to work first with distutils and a regular .zip. This is an eclipse pydev project and my file structure is something like this: ProjectName src somePackage module1.py module2.py ... config propsFile1.ini propsFile2.ini propsFile3.ini setup.py Here's my setup.py code so far: from distutils.core import setup setup(name='ProjectName', version='1.0', packages=['somePackage'], data_files = [('config', ['..\config\propsFile1.ini', '..\config\propsFile2.ini', '..\config\propsFile3.ini'])] ) When I run this (with sdist as a command line parameter), a .zip file gets generated with all the python files - but the config files are not included. I thought that this code: data_files = [('config', ['..\config\propsFile1.ini', '..\config\propsFile2.ini', '..\config\propsFile3.ini'])] indicates that those 3 specified config files should be copied to a "config" directory in the zip distribution. Why is this code not accomplishing anything? What am I doing wrong? (I have also tried playing around with the paths of the config files... But nothing seems to help. Would Python throw an error or warning if the path was incorrect / file was not found?)

  • jQuery toggling div visibility

    - by Eef
I have a HTML document with the below setup: <div class="main-div" style="padding: 5px; border: 1px solid green;"> <div class="first-div" style="width: 200px; height: 200px; padding: 5px; border: 1px solid purple"> First Div <a href="#" class="control">Control</a> </div> <div class="second-div hidden" style="width: 200px; height: 200px; padding: 5px; border: 1px solid red;"> Second Div <a href="#" class="control">Control</a> </div> </div> I also have a CSS class setup called hidden with display setup to none. I have jQuery setup like so: $('.control').click(function(){ var master = $(this).parent().parent(); var first_div = $(master).find(".first-div"); var second_div = $(master).find(".second-div"); $(first_div).toggleClass("hidden") $(second_div).toggleClass("hidden") }); This setup toggles the visibility of the divs, click the control button it hides one div and show the other. However this just hides and shows each div in a flash. I am looking to add some animation to the transitioning of the divs, maybe have one slide up and the other slide down when the 'control' is clicked and vice versa but I am unable to achieve this. Could anyone help out and give some advice on how to do this? Cheer Eef

  • Junit 4 test suite and individual test classes

I have a JUnit 4 test suite with BeforeClass and AfterClass methods that make a setup/teardown for the following test classes. What I need is to run the test classes also by them selves, but for that I need a setup/teardown scenario (BeforeClass and AfterClass or something like that) for each test class. The thing is that when I run the suite I do not want to execute the setup/teardown before and after each test class, I only want to execute the setup/teardown from the test suite (once). Is it possible ? Thanks in advance.

  • Arduino: Putting servos in my class causes them to rotate all the way to one side

    - by user2526712
I am trying to create a new class that controls two servos. My code compiles just fine. However, when I run it, the servos just turn all the way to one direction. This seems to happen when I try instantiating the class (when in the constructor, I attach the servos in the class to pins). In My class's header file, I have [UPDATED] #ifndef ServoController_h #define ServoController_h #include "Arduino.h" #include <Servo.h> class ServoController { public: ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin); void rotate(int degrees); void elevate(int degrees); private: Servo rotateServo; Servo elevateServo; int elevationAngle; int azimuthAngle; }; #endif Code so far for my Class: #include "Arduino.h" #include "ServoController.h" ServoController::ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } void ServoController::rotate(int degrees) { //TO DO rotateServo.write(degrees); } void ServoController::elevate(int degrees) { //TO DO elevateServo.write(degrees); } And finally my arduino sketch so far is just: #include <ServoController.h> #include <Servo.h> ServoController sc(2 , 3); void setup() { } void loop() { } I'm pretty sure the circuit I am using is fine, since if I do not use my class, and just use the servo library directly in my arduino file, the servos move correctly. any ideas why this might happen? [UPDATE] I actually got this working. In my constructor, I have removed the lines to attach the servos to pins. Instead, I have added another method to my class which does the attachment. ServoController::ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; // elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); // rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } void ServoController::attachPins(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } I then call this in my sketch's setup() function: void setup() { sc.attachPins(2,3); } It seems like if I attach my servos outside of the setup() function, my problem occurs. [UPDATE July 27 9:13PM] Verified something with another test: I created a new sketch where I attached a servo before setup(): #include <Servo.h> Servo servo0; servo0.attach(2); void setup() { } void loop() // this function runs repeatedly after setup() finishes { servo0.write(90); delay(2000); servo0.write(135); delay(2000); servo0.write(45); delay(2000); } When I try to compile, Arduino throws an error: "testservotest:4: error: expected constructor, destructor, or type conversion before '.' token" So there was an error, but it was not thrown when the attach method was called from a class Thanks very much

  • How can I remove Ruby, Rails & mysql to start the installation process again?

    - by ben
I've been trying to get setup with Ruby on Rails today, but I think I've followed some bad instructions along the way, and nothing seems to work. I've now borrowed the book "Agile Web Development with Rails, Third Edition" from a friend, and want to follow the setup instructions in that. Firstly, do I need to remove what I've setup previously? If yes, how do I do it? I can't seem to find instructions anywhere. I'm running OSX 10.6.1, so I know that it came with some stuff already setup, but I've been installing customized stuff over the top which I think I'll have to remove. Thanks for reading!

  • Automating Solaris 11 Zones Installation Using The Automated Install Server

    - by Orgad Kimchi
Introduction How to use the Oracle Solaris 11 Automated install server in order to automate the Solaris 11 Zones installation. In this document I will demonstrate how to setup the Automated Install server in order to provide hands off installation process for the Global Zone and two Non Global Zones located on the same system. Architecture layout: Figure 1. Architecture layout Prerequisite Setup the Automated install server (AI) using the following instructions “How to Set Up Automated Installation Services for Oracle Solaris 11” The first step in this setup will be creating two Solaris 11 Zones configuration files. Step 1: Create the Solaris 11 Zones configuration files  The Solaris Zones configuration files should be in the format of the zonecfg export command. # zonecfg -z zone1 export > /var/tmp/zone1# cat /var/tmp/zone1 create -b set brand=solaris set zonepath=/rpool/zones/zone1 set autoboot=true set ip-type=exclusive add anet set linkname=net0 set lower-link=auto set configure-allowed-address=true set link-protection=mac-nospoof set mac-address=random end  Create a backup copy of this file under a different name, for example, zone2. # cp /var/tmp/zone1 /var/tmp/zone2 Modify the second configuration file with the zone2 configuration information You should change the zonepath for example: set zonepath=/rpool/zones/zone2 Step2: Copy and share the Zones configuration files  Create the NFS directory for the Zones configuration files # mkdir /export/zone_config Share the directory for the Zones configuration file # share –o ro /export/zone_config Copy the Zones configuration files into the NFS shared directory # cp /var/tmp/zone1 /var/tmp/zone2  /export/zone_config Verify that the NFS share has been created using the following command # share export_zone_config      /export/zone_config     nfs     sec=sys,ro Step 3: Add the Global Zone as client to the Install Service Use the installadm create-client command to associate client (Global Zone) with the install service To find the MAC address of a system, use the dladm command as described in the dladm(1M) man page. The following command adds the client (Global Zone) with MAC address 0:14:4f:2:a:19 to the s11x86service install service. # installadm create-client -e “0:14:4f:2:a:19" -n s11x86service You can verify the client creation using the following command # installadm list –c Service Name  Client Address     Arch   Image Path ------------  --------------     ----   ---------- s11x86service 00:14:4F:02:0A:19  i386   /export/auto_install/s11x86service We can see the client install service name (s11x86service), MAC address (00:14:4F:02:0A:19 and Architecture (i386). Step 4: Global Zone manifest setup  First, get a list of the installation services and the manifests associated with them: # installadm list -m Service Name   Manifest        Status ------------   --------        ------ default-i386   orig_default   Default s11x86service  orig_default   Default Then probe the s11x86service and the default manifest associated with it. The -m switch reflects the name of the manifest associated with a service. Since we want to capture that output into a file, we redirect the output of the command as follows: # installadm export -n s11x86service -m orig_default >  /var/tmp/orig_default.xml Create a backup copy of this file under a different name, for example, orig-default2.xml, and edit the copy. # cp /var/tmp/orig_default.xml /var/tmp/orig_default2.xml Use the configuration element in the AI manifest for the client system to specify non-global zones. Use the name attribute of the configuration element to specify the name of the zone. Use the source attribute to specify the location of the config file for the zone. The source location can be any http:// or file:// location that the client can access during installation. The following sample AI manifest specifies two Non-Global Zones: zone1 and zone2 You should replace the server_ip with the ip address of the NFS server. <!DOCTYPE auto_install SYSTEM "file:///usr/share/install/ai.dtd.1"> <auto_install>   <ai_instance>     <target>       <logical>         <zpool name="rpool" is_root="true">           <filesystem name="export" mountpoint="/export"/>           <filesystem name="export/home"/>           <be name="solaris"/>         </zpool>       </logical>     </target>     <software type="IPS">       <source>         <publisher name="solaris">           <origin name="http://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release"/>         </publisher>       </source>       <software_data action="install">         <name>pkg:/entire@latest</name>         <name>pkg:/group/system/solaris-large-server</name>       </software_data>     </software>     <configuration type="zone" name="zone1" source="file:///net/server_ip/export/zone_config/zone1"/>     <configuration type="zone" name="zone2" source="file:///net/server_ip/export/zone_config/zone2"/>   </ai_instance> </auto_install> The following example adds the /var/tmp/orig_default2.xml AI manifest to the s11x86service install service # installadm create-manifest -n s11x86service -f /var/tmp/orig_default2.xml -m gzmanifest You can verify the manifest creation using the following command # installadm list -n s11x86service  -m Service/Manifest Name  Status   Criteria ---------------------  ------   -------- s11x86service    orig_default        Default  None    gzmanifest          Inactive None We can see from the command output that the new manifest named gzmanifest has been created and associated with the s11x86service install service. Step 5: Non Global Zone manifest setup The AI manifest for non-global zone installation is similar to the AI manifest for installing the global zone. If you do not provide a custom AI manifest for a non-global zone, the default AI manifest for Zones is used The default AI manifest for Zones is available at /usr/share/auto_install/manifest/zone_default.xml. In this example we should use the default AI manifest for zones The following sample default AI manifest for zones # cat /usr/share/auto_install/manifest/zone_default.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!--  Copyright (c) 2011, 2012, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. --> <!DOCTYPE auto_install SYSTEM "file:///usr/share/install/ai.dtd.1"> <auto_install>     <ai_instance name="zone_default">         <target>             <logical>                 <zpool name="rpool">                     <!--                       Subsequent <filesystem> entries instruct an installer                       to create following ZFS datasets:                           <root_pool>/export         (mounted on /export)                           <root_pool>/export/home    (mounted on /export/home)                       Those datasets are part of standard environment                       and should be always created.                       In rare cases, if there is a need to deploy a zone                       without these datasets, either comment out or remove                       <filesystem> entries. In such scenario, it has to be also                       assured that in case of non-interactive post-install                       configuration, creation of initial user account is                       disabled in related system configuration profile.                       Otherwise the installed zone would fail to boot.                     -->                     <filesystem name="export" mountpoint="/export"/>                     <filesystem name="export/home"/>                     <be name="solaris">                         <options>                             <option name="compression" value="on"/>                         </options>                     </be>                 </zpool>             </logical>         </target>         <software type="IPS">             <destination>                 <image>                     <!-- Specify locales to install -->                     <facet set="false">facet.locale.*</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.de</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.de_DE</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.en</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.en_US</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.es</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.es_ES</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.fr</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.fr_FR</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.it</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.it_IT</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.ja</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.ja_*</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.ko</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.ko_*</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.pt</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.pt_BR</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.zh</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.zh_CN</facet>                     <facet set="true">facet.locale.zh_TW</facet>                 </image>             </destination>             <software_data action="install">                 <name>pkg:/group/system/solaris-small-server</name>             </software_data>         </software>     </ai_instance> </auto_install> (optional) We can customize the default AI manifest for Zones Create a backup copy of this file under a different name, for example, zone_default2.xml and edit the copy # cp /usr/share/auto_install/manifest/zone_default.xml /var/tmp/zone_default2.xml Edit the copy (/var/tmp/zone_default2.xml) The following example adds the /var/tmp/zone_default2.xml AI manifest to the s11x86service install service and specifies that zone1 and zone2 should use this manifest. # installadm create-manifest -n s11x86service -f /var/tmp/zone_default2.xml -m zones_manifest -c zonename="zone1 zone2" Note: Do not use the following elements or attributes in a non-global zone AI manifest:     The auto_reboot attribute of the ai_instance element     The http_proxy attribute of the ai_instance element     The disk child element of the target element     The noswap attribute of the logical element     The nodump attribute of the logical element     The configuration element Step 6: Global Zone profile setup We are going to create a global zone configuration profile which includes the host information for example: host name, ip address name services etc… # sysconfig create-profile –o /var/tmp/gz_profile.xml You need to provide the host information for example:     Default router     Root password     DNS information The output should eventually disappear and be replaced by the initial screen of the System Configuration Tool (see Figure 2), where you can do the final configuration. Figure 2. Profile creation menu You can validate the profile using the following command # installadm validate -n s11x86service –P /var/tmp/gz_profile.xml Validating static profile gz_profile.xml...  Passed Next, instantiate a profile with the install service. In our case, use the following syntax for doing this # installadm create-profile -n s11x86service  -f /var/tmp/gz_profile.xml -p  gz_profile You can verify profile creation using the following command # installadm list –n s11x86service  -p Service/Profile Name  Criteria --------------------  -------- s11x86service    gz_profile         None We can see that the gz_profie has been created and associated with the s11x86service Install service. Step 7: Setup the Solaris Zones configuration profiles The step should be similar to the Global zone profile creation on step 6 # sysconfig create-profile –o /var/tmp/zone1_profile.xml # sysconfig create-profile –o /var/tmp/zone2_profile.xml You can validate the profiles using the following command # installadm validate -n s11x86service -P /var/tmp/zone1_profile.xml Validating static profile zone1_profile.xml...  Passed # installadm validate -n s11x86service -P /var/tmp/zone2_profile.xml Validating static profile zone2_profile.xml...  Passed Next, associate the profiles with the install service The following example adds the zone1_profile.xml configuration profile to the s11x86service  install service and specifies that zone1 should use this profile. # installadm create-profile -n s11x86service  -f  /var/tmp/zone1_profile.xml -p zone1_profile -c zonename=zone1 The following example adds the zone2_profile.xml configuration profile to the s11x86service  install service and specifies that zone2 should use this profile. # installadm create-profile -n s11x86service  -f  /var/tmp/zone2_profile.xml -p zone2_profile -c zonename=zone2 You can verify the profiles creation using the following command # installadm list -n s11x86service -p Service/Profile Name  Criteria --------------------  -------- s11x86service    zone1_profile      zonename = zone1    zone2_profile      zonename = zone2    gz_profile         None We can see that we have three profiles in the s11x86service  install service     Global Zone  gz_profile     zone1            zone1_profile     zone2            zone2_profile. Step 8: Global Zone setup Associate the global zone client with the manifest and the profile that we create in the previous steps The following example adds the manifest and profile to the client (global zone), where: gzmanifest  is the name of the manifest. gz_profile  is the name of the configuration profile. mac="0:14:4f:2:a:19" is the client (global zone) mac address s11x86service is the install service name. # installadm set-criteria -m  gzmanifest  –p  gz_profile  -c mac="0:14:4f:2:a:19" -n s11x86service You can verify the manifest and profile association using the following command # installadm list -n s11x86service -p  -m Service/Manifest Name  Status   Criteria ---------------------  ------   -------- s11x86service    gzmanifest                   mac  = 00:14:4F:02:0A:19    orig_default        Default  None Service/Profile Name  Criteria --------------------  -------- s11x86service    gz_profile         mac      = 00:14:4F:02:0A:19    zone2_profile      zonename = zone2    zone1_profile      zonename = zone1 Step 9: Provision the host with the Non-Global Zones The next step is to boot the client system off the network and provision it using the Automated Install service that we just set up. First, boot the client system. Figure 3 shows the network boot attempt (when done on an x86 system): Figure 3. Network Boot Then you will be prompted by a GRUB menu, with a timer, as shown in Figure 4. The default selection (the "Text Installer and command line" option) is highlighted.  Press the down arrow to highlight the second option labeled Automated Install, and then press Enter. The reason we need to do this is because we want to prevent a system from being automatically re-installed if it were to be booted from the network accidentally. Figure 4. GRUB Menu What follows is the continuation of a networked boot from the Automated Install server,. The client downloads a mini-root (a small set of files in which to successfully run the installer), identifies the location of the Automated Install manifest on the network, retrieves that manifest, and then processes it to identify the address of the IPS repository from which to obtain the desired software payload. Non-Global Zones are installed and configured on the first reboot after the Global Zone is installed. You can list all the Solaris Zones status using the following command # zoneadm list -civ Once the Zones are in running state you can login into the Zone using the following command # zlogin –z zone1 Troubleshooting Automated Installations If an installation to a client system failed, you can find the client log at /system/volatile/install_log. NOTE: Zones are not installed if any of the following errors occurs:     A zone config file is not syntactically correct.     A collision exists among zone names, zone paths, or delegated ZFS datasets in the set of zones to be installed     Required datasets are not configured in the global zone. For more troubleshooting information see “Installing Oracle Solaris 11 Systems” Conclusion This paper demonstrated the benefits of using the Automated Install server to simplify the Non Global Zones setup, including the creation and configuration of the global zone manifest and the Solaris Zones profiles.

  • Capistrano asks for SSH password when deploying from local machine to server

    - by GhostRider
When I try to ssh to a server, I'm able to do it as my id_rsa.pub key is added to the authorized keys in the server. Now when I try to deploy my code via Capistrano to the server from my local project folder, the server asks for a password. I'm unable to understand what could be the issue if I'm able to ssh and unable to deploy to the same server. $ cap deploy:setup "no seed data" triggering start callbacks for `deploy:setup' * 13:42:18 == Currently executing `multistage:ensure' *** Defaulting to `development' * 13:42:18 == Currently executing `development' * 13:42:18 == Currently executing `deploy:setup' triggering before callbacks for `deploy:setup' * 13:42:18 == Currently executing `db:configure_mongoid' * executing "mkdir -p /home/deploy/apps/development/flyingbird/shared/config" servers: ["dev1.noob.com", "176.9.24.217"] Password: Cap script: # gem install capistrano capistrano-ext capistrano_colors begin; require 'capistrano_colors'; rescue LoadError; end require "bundler/capistrano" # RVM bootstrap # $:.unshift(File.expand_path('./lib', ENV['rvm_path'])) require 'rvm/capistrano' set :rvm_ruby_string, 'ruby-1.9.2-p290' set :rvm_type, :user # or :user # Application setup default_run_options[:pty] = true # allow pseudo-terminals ssh_options[:forward_agent] = true # forward SSH keys (this will use your SSH key to get the code from git repository) ssh_options[:port] = 22 set :ip, "dev1.noob.com" set :application, "flyingbird" set :repository, "repo-path" set :scm, :git set :branch, fetch(:branch, "master") set :deploy_via, :remote_cache set :rails_env, "production" set :use_sudo, false set :scm_username, "user" set :user, "user1" set(:database_username) { application } set(:production_database) { application + "_production" } set(:staging_database) { application + "_staging" } set(:development_database) { application + "_development" } role :web, ip # Your HTTP server, Apache/etc role :app, ip # This may be the same as your `Web` server role :db, ip, :primary => true # This is where Rails migrations will run # Use multi-staging require "capistrano/ext/multistage" set :stages, ["development", "staging", "production"] set :default_stage, rails_env before "deploy:setup", "db:configure_mongoid" # Uncomment if you use any of these databases after "deploy:update_code", "db:symlink_mongoid" after "deploy:update_code", "uploads:configure_shared" after "uploads:configure_shared", "uploads:symlink" after 'deploy:update_code', 'bundler:symlink_bundled_gems' after 'deploy:update_code', 'bundler:install' after "deploy:update_code", "rvm:trust_rvmrc" # Use this to update crontab if you use 'whenever' gem # after "deploy:symlink", "deploy:update_crontab" if ARGV.include?("seed_data") after "deploy", "db:seed" else p "no seed data" end #Custom tasks to handle resque and redis restart before "deploy", "deploy:stop_workers" after "deploy", "deploy:restart_redis" after "deploy", "deploy:start_workers" after "deploy", "deploy:cleanup" 'Create symlink for public uploads' namespace :uploads do task :symlink do run <<-CMD rm -rf #{release_path}/public/uploads && mkdir -p #{release_path}/public && ln -nfs #{shared_path}/public/uploads #{release_path}/public/uploads CMD end task :configure_shared do run "mkdir -p #{shared_path}/public" run "mkdir -p #{shared_path}/public/uploads" end end namespace :rvm do desc 'Trust rvmrc file' task :trust_rvmrc do run "rvm rvmrc trust #{current_release}" end end namespace :db do desc "Create mongoid.yml in shared path" task :configure_mongoid do db_config = <<-EOF defaults: &defaults host: localhost production: <<: *defaults database: #{production_database} staging: <<: *defaults database: #{staging_database} EOF run "mkdir -p #{shared_path}/config" put db_config, "#{shared_path}/config/mongoid.yml" end desc "Make symlink for mongoid.yml" task :symlink_mongoid do run "ln -nfs #{shared_path}/config/mongoid.yml #{release_path}/config/mongoid.yml" end desc "Fill the database with seed data" task :seed do run "cd #{current_path}; RAILS_ENV=#{default_stage} bundle exec rake db:seed" end end namespace :bundler do desc "Symlink bundled gems on each release" task :symlink_bundled_gems, :roles => :app do run "mkdir -p #{shared_path}/bundled_gems" run "ln -nfs #{shared_path}/bundled_gems #{release_path}/vendor/bundle" end desc "Install bundled gems " task :install, :roles => :app do run "cd #{release_path} && bundle install --deployment" end end namespace :deploy do task :start, :roles => :app do run "touch #{current_path}/tmp/restart.txt" end desc "Restart the app" task :restart, :roles => :app do run "touch #{current_path}/tmp/restart.txt" end desc "Start the workers" task :stop_workers do run "cd #{current_path}; RAILS_ENV=#{default_stage} bundle exec rake resque:stop_workers" end desc "Restart Redis server" task :restart_redis do "/etc/init.d/redis-server restart" end desc "Start the workers" task :start_workers do run "cd #{current_path}; RAILS_ENV=#{default_stage} bundle exec rake resque:start_workers" end end
