    I'm working on a logging system for my 2D engine, and I'm confused on how I should go about creating/editing the file, and how I should output that file. I've learned that XML is more of a data carrier rather than a data displayer like HTML is. I've read that I can use XML to HTML converters. One method I've thought about is writing characters to a file in HTML. Clarity on these matters is what I ask of you, stack overflow.

This is essentially a 2d array like so [test1][True] [test2][False] [test3][False] [test4][True].   • How to rotate UIViews?

    The Twitter app is a tab bar app on the iPhone. Nothing in any of the tabs will rotate, yet, when you click on a link from a tweet, the view controller that is pushed on top of it IS allowed to rotate. The only rotations I have ever doe is from tilting the device, landscape or portrait, but I don't understand how to use 2d transformations and animations to rotate views. How do you rotate any view with that's a subclass of UIView?

    I have a 2D array declared like this: int arr[2][2]={ {1,2},{3,4}}; Now if I do: int ** ptr=(int**) arr; and: cout<<**ptr; I am getting a segmentation fault (using g++-4.0). Why so? Shouldn't it be printing the value 1 (equal to arr[0][0])?

  • Is there image phase correlation libraries available for Python?

    A project that involves image processing, i.e. to calculate the angular shift of the same image when shifted by a medium of certain Refractive Index. We have to build an app that correlates the 2 images (phase/2D correlation?) and then plot using Chaco and Mayavi (2 libraries in Python). Is there any other existing template software (FOSS) that we can base our app on, or use it as a reference?

    I'm using Alberto Santini's solution to this question to get a spiral grid reference based on an items index Algorithm for iterating over an outward spiral on a discrete 2D grid from the origin It's not the accepted solution, but it's the best for my needs as it avoids using a loop. It's working well, but what I want now is to do the inverse. Based on a known x and y coordinate return the index of a location. This is as a precursor to returning the items surrounding a given location.

    hi i just finished essential part of my own personal 2d engine in c++ and i'm kinda deciding how to complete the part where it is actually supposed to display everything on the screen, namely when do I call that function which does the job. I don't have much idea of how does the graphic card work, my biggest experience is calling bios graphic services to write some stuff on the screen. Could you give me a hint on this pls?   • PHP array performance

    Hi, this is my first question on Stackoverflow, please bear with me. I'm testing an algorithm for 2d bin packing and I've chosen PHP to mock it up as it's my bread-and-butter language nowadays. As you can see on http://themworks.com/pack_v0.2/oopack.php?ol=1 it works pretty well, but you need to wait around 10-20 seconds for 100 rectangles to pack. For some hard to handle sets it would hit the php's 30s runtime limit. I did some profiling and it shows that most of the time my script goes through different parts of a small 2d array with 0's and 1's in it. It either checks if certain cell equals to 0/1 or sets it to 0/1. It can do such operations million times and each times it takes few microseconds. I guess I could use an array of booleans in a statically typed language and things would be faster. Or even make an array of 1 bit values. I'm thinking of converting the whole thing to some compiled language. Is PHP just not good for it? If I do need to convert it to let's say C++, how good are the automatic converters? My script is just a lot of for loops with basic arrays and objects manipulations. Thank you! Edit. This function gets called more than any other.   • Enabling SFTP Access within PLESK

    Hello everyone, I have a client who wants to ensure his upload is secure, so we are trying to enable SFTP for him on our Linux PLESK server. I have enabled SSH access to bin/bash for FTP accounts, and created a new user. When I attempt to SFTP using either the IP address or the domain name, this is the error FileZilla is giving me: Error: Authentication failed. Error: Critical error Error: Could not connect to server Here is some basic information regarding the server: Operating system Linux 2.6.24.5-20080421a Plesk Control Panel version psa v8.6.0_build86080930.03 os_CentOS 5 I had read in some places that I should reboot the SSH Service in Server - Services, however, there is no SSH Service within the list. I'm not really a server guy so it's quite possible I'm missing something obvious. Thanks for any help that you guys can provide!

  • Cisco VPN Connection - No internet no nothing

    Hi all, Sorry if this has been posted, I tried searching but I am not exactly sure what I am looking for, I am a developer not a networking guy. We have a client whom we need to use Cisco VPN client to connect to their servers. I have installed the software, dropped in the provided .pcf file, and I can connect. However, when I do, I lose all local and internet capabilities, no hosts resolve, and I still can't connect to their internal FTP and development sites. This leads me to believe either a setting is wrong in my Cisco software, and/or their network is not correctly configured. Does anyone know anything about Cisco VPN'ing that can give me a hand? My colleague seems to indicate that they need to enable split tunneling on their end (or a similar setting).
