    I know this is really picky, but can I have one template inside a user control: <uc:MyUserControl runat="server" ID="test"> <div><b>Test</b></div> <asp:PlaceHolder runat="server" id="pH" /> </uc:MyUserControl> Instead of what I have now which requires me to: <uc:MyUserControl runat="server" ID="test"> <Content> <div><b>Test</b></div> <asp:PlaceHolder runat="server" id="pH" /> </Content> </uc:MyUserControl> Basically I want my control to have only one ITemplate inside of it.

    Let's suppose you have this class: class A { public: A () {} A (double val) : m_val(val) {} ~A () {} private: double m_val; }; Once I create an instance of A, how can I check if m_val has been initialized/defined? Put it in other words, is there a way to know if m_val has been initialized/defined or not? Something along the lines of the defined operator in Python, I suppose. (But correct me if I'm wrong.) I thought of modifying the class and the c-tors the following way: class A { public: A () : defined(false) {} A (double val) : m_val(val), defined(true) {} ~A () {} private: double m_val; bool defined; }; How do you rate this solution?     Is it possible to set a password textbox text to text that the user could not reproduce on their end? Like are there special characters that can only be set from the server? For instance, one way to do this would be to use javascript to prevent typing of *'s, and to set the textbox text to be all *'s. But that's hacky. The motivation is to be able to tell on the server if the user changed the password at all, but not to restrict them from having a password of all *'s, for instance.

    Hi, The basic question is: How do I perform a basic override of a plugin method without editing the original plugin file? Is it possible to create an override for a specific instance: Example: An rtf plugin uses: $('selector').wysiwyg('setContent',newContent); In order to display the rtf text as readonly I would like for the same method to be applied to a div instead of the body of the IFRAME I would like to overwrite the original 'setContent' with my own code, just for this one element.   • Scroll returns to default after display:none in Chrome/IE

    Here's the example: http://jsfiddle.net/sammy/RubNy/ Scroll down in the div container. Then click anywhere in the window to hide the element. Then click once more to show the element. You'll notice in Chrome/IE that the scroll is reset, but in Firefox, the scroll remains how you left it. Which is the standards behavior, Chrome/IE or Firefox? Does my Code already support Gzip (maybe this is already done by android and not by my java program) or do I have to add/change smth.? How can I check that it's using Gzip?   • Override default javascript functionality with jQuery

    I am trying to overwrite a JavaScript on change event in the below code with jQuery however I believe that the inline JavaScript is taking priority over the jQuery functionality declared. Essentially I am trying to have an AJAX version of my site which includes an additional JavaScript file. I need this functionality to still work without the additional AJAX version, but I am not sure as to whether I should include it in the main JavaScript file or leave it inline like it is right now. Any suggestions and information regarding them would be greatly appreciated!   • Visual Studio keeps inserting absurd default property value in designer file

    i have a simple usercontrol with following properties: public partial class RichTextEditorControl : UserControl { public string EditorText { get { return richTextBox1.Rtf; } set { richTextBox1.Rtf = value; } } public string EditorPlainText { get { return richTextBox1.Text; } set { richTextBox1.Text = value; } } } Now whenever I EDIT a form which contains this control, VS fills its designer file with the following code line, and then throws a designer error : this.richTextEditorControl1.EditorPlainText = global::Project.Resources.MyResources_de_DE.SomeString; Now I don't know where it gets this value from ??? I've searched entire solution, and nowhere there's mention of this var, except for 1 file, where it's needed ... Moreover, the code VS writes, has an error in it ?! It doesn't compile ... The only thing I can do is edit the designer file, but the next time I have to edit the form with the designer, the same error happens again ... Where on earth is VS getting this value from ??

  • Dropdownlist value not being set when there is a default blank option

    I am using ASP.Net MVC. I have a partial view which has a form with dropdownlists. The dropdownlists are set via ViewData. The partial view is used in a Create and Edit page. The create works fine. I get the dropdownlists and the blank option is a "Please select", like so <%= Html.DropDownList("ContactNrType", ViewData["ContactNrType"] as SelectList, "Please Select") %> But this doesn't seem to work for my edit. If I have that extra "Please select" parameter then it does not select the value for the drop down. I am setting the value of the drop down in the controller like so ViewData["ContactNrType"] = new SelectList(new List<string> { "Mobile", "Home", "Work", "Friend" }, candidate.ContactNrType); Any idea as to what I am doing wrong? I want to share the partial view which contains the form between the two pages. So I need the "Please Select" option for the Create. And I need the value set for the Edit (I don't mind that it has an option that still says "Please Select").

    I have an ActiveRecord::Base class which needs to have a field that is automatically generated when a new instance is made. How should I go about doing this? By defining an initialize function? class Thing < ActiveRecord::Base # 'special' (integer) needs to be set to lowest unused number (above 0) # considering that random rows will be removed via other processes end This is as far as I've got! Any ideas?

  • Launching default browser with html from file, then jump to specific anchor

    I need to open an html file from the program root directory and have it jump to a specified anchor. I can open the file perfectly fine with a simple System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("site.html") but as soon as I try to add the anchor to the end it ceases to be able to find the file. I was able to put the anchor in there and still have it launch with string Anchor Anchor = "file:///" + Environment.CurrentDirectory.ToString().Replace("\", "/") + "/site.html#Anchor"; System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(Anchor); However as soon as the browser launches it drops the anchor. Any suggestions?

I can use :conditions to select data that has been manually inserted as such : :conditions => ["memberships.grouprole_id= ? ", Grouprole.find_by_name('user')] But when creating the membership to the group the grouprole_id is not being set. Is there a way to do this as at present I have a somewhat repetitive piece of code for each user role in my Group model.

    Is there any way to stop the page from loading the next page when someone clicks on a <a> tag instead i want it to give the href value so for example "www.google.com" and then do a jquery .load() which is like this $(".window").load(hrefvalue); i know i could just change all the href values to fire up a javascript function but that takes a bit of time so im just looking for the easiest way. so i want it to do stop the page loading the next part on a <a href click. get the href value e.g http://www.google.com. and then do a jquery (.load() or $.ajax()) call for the href page.

    I'm trying to work on my new website Drupal7 while I'm keeping in the hosting my old static website. So I have: index.html (static website. I want to keep for my users) index.php (drupal new installation) Is there a way to set in drupal this kind of situation? The problem, as you problably can see at this point, is that every time I'm going to a different section I'm being redirected to the .html homepage. I mean for example the admin section is: www.mydomain.com/?q=admin instead of www.mydomain.com/index.php?q=admin What's the easiest way to keep the html static web for my current users while I'm developing my drupal7 website in the "background"?
