  I was trying to run a project in my local machine. I tried to load this jnilib file which I got from a running instance of this project on my Mac 10.6.2, System.load(lib.getAbsolutePath()); then I got this exception thrown: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError, mach-o but wrong architecture I have check the jnilib with file command: libScreenMatchProxy.jnilib: Mach-O dynamically linked shared library i386 I guess this is because the jnilib file is compiled in 32bit but the Java comes with Mac10.6 is 64bit. So I go to Java Preference and set Java to use 32bit first. But it didn't work. As mentioned above, this jnilib file is copied from a running instance of the project on my Mac, so it should work. I don't understand why it working in the installed application but not in my Eclipse.

  I have three seperate projects: -MyUserControl (Needs a reference to a service implementing IMyService) -MyService (Implements IMyService) -MySharedInterfaces (IMyUserControl and IMyService) -MyWebApp The user control needs to be dynamically loaded at runtime. This implements IMyUserControl and has a property of type IMyService which will be set at runtime. The trouble is even with the option to reuse types the WebApp isn't reusing the IMyServiceType, it always generates it again from the Service Reference. This wouldn't be an issue if I could cast it to MySharedInterfaces.IMyService (which I can't understand, since it should be exactly the same). The user control is expecting something of type IMyService, is there anyway to either cast the WebServiceReference.IMyService back to MySharedInterface.IMyServiceReference or force the WebServiceReference to reuse the MySharedInterface.IMyServiceReference?   Hey, I'm having trouble with a custom control and adding it dynamically using JQuery. I've got the following code: $('.custom_control_div').replaceWith( "<div><cc:mycustomcontrol id='cControl' ></cc:mycustomcontrol></div>" ); This doesn't throw any errors, but doesn't work because I need to use runat=server in my custom control. However, if I add runat=server in the code above, no javascript is executed on the page (and jqueryUI no longer works). The custom control works fine when I add it directly to the page from design-time. Is there a way to add a control, with runat=server using Jquery? Thanks

  When I call CGPDFPageGetDrawingTransform() with a rotation argument, the application crashes. If I specify no rotation, there is no crash. • How can I create a MethodInfo from an Action delegate

  I am trying to develop an NUnit addin that dynamically adds test methods to a suite from an object that contains a list of Action delegates. The problem is that NUnit appears to be leaning heavily on reflection to get the job done. Consequently, it looks like there's no simple way to add my Actions directly to the suite. I must, instead, add MethodInfo objects. This would normally work, but the Action delegates are anonymous, so I would have to build the types and methods to accomplish this. I need to find an easier way to do this, without resorting to using Emit. Does anyone know how to easily create MethodInfo instances from Action delegates?

• Using Hibernate with Dynamic Eclipse Plug-ins

  I have classes that are named exactly the same across different plug-ins that I use for my application, and I'd like to be able to configure them properly with Hibernate. The problem is that it looks like Hibernate dynamically generates a class' package name when trying to find a class when it's doing its mapping. With one plug-in this scheme works, but across multiple plug-ins it's not working. It looks like Hibernate gets confused when dealing with Hibernate configuration files across multiple plug-ins. Is this because each plug-in has its own class-loader? What is the best way to proceed to make this work with the existing plug-ins and Hibernate?

  I have a number of inputs on a page function as JQ UI datepicker. Each needs to have different settings. I want to minimize the JS so I save the settings as an attribute in each individual . <input type="text" class="datepicker" name="dateofbirth" id="dateofbirth" size="20" value="" options="{ dateFormat: 'yy-mm-dd',changeYear: true,yearRange: '1920:2010'}" /> <input type="text" class="datepicker" name="expdate" id="expdate" size="20" value="" options="{ yearRange: '2011:2020'}" /> I use js to load the options dynamically as the settings. $(document).ready(function(){ $(".datepicker").each(function(index){ $(this).datepicker("option" , $(this).attr('options')); }); }); datepicker is not functioning. If I empty the parentheses after $this.datepicker it works fine. I have also tried another way to assign settings. ("option",...) no dice.

  Hi, I'm dynamically creating textfields in as3, and formatting them with the TextFormat class. I'm having some issues though with selecting the exact "style" of font to apply to the textfields. My code so far looks like: formatT = new TextFormat( ); formatT.bold = false; formatT.color = 0x000000; formatT.font = "TradeGothic"; formatT.size = 16; var textItem = new TextField(); textItem.text = "foobar"; textItem.setTextFormat(formatT); addChild(textItem); This works ("Trade Gothic" is applied to the enclosed text), however I can't figure out how to apply a specific style of "Trade Gothic", for instance "Light Oblique". Is there some way that I can specify this using the TextFormat class? Thanks.

  I'm having an issue where I'm trying to update the background gradient of an element with JavaScript based on values I specify. I tried this route: elem.style.backgroundImage = '-webkit-gradient(radial, '+x+' '+y+', 0, '+x+' '+y+', 800, from(#ccc), to(#333)), -moz-radial-gradient('+x+'px '+y+'px, circle cover, #ccc 0, #333 100%)'; Since Webkit and Gecko have two different syntaxes for CSS3 gradients, I need to specify both. However, the above code doesn't work. It works if I only have just the Gecko syntax or just the Webkit syntax, not both. I think you can check for CSS gradient support, but my question is, is there a way to check which syntax needs to be used without browser sniffing? Keep in mind that I need to set my gradients this way since the x and y coordinates of the gradient change dynamically. Hope this makes sense, thanks.

• Useful ways for multilanguage navigation and static content on your site?

  Hi, I have a big site running under Apache and PHP and in few mounths I should consider to add some different language version of it, but I'm not sure about the right way (or ways). My problem it isn't the user data, because I can use db tables with different languages (en, de, it, etc.) so I want concentrate my answer on navigation and static content. For now I can't use gettext because I don't have a dedicated server and I can't reboot it every time I want, but surely will be a future choice. So my main problems are these: In the site, I have classical XHTML elements like the menus, lists, div and various static texts in various pages (should be perferct for gettext, but I need a alternative) The other part of the sites has XHTML elements which are dynamically created via AJAX and jQuery, and here I haven't any idea of what can I do... So does exists some example I can see in some link to solve it (or some useful tecnique)?

• java runtime tracing library to replace system.out.println

  Have you heard of any library which would allow me to set up a tracing for specific methods at runtime? Instead of adding (and removing) lots of System.out.println in my code (and having to re-compile and re-deploy) I would like to have a magic thing which would print out a line for each call of selected method without any change in the code. This would work without re-compiling, so some kind of JVM agent (or some non-standard JVM would be needed?). Sounds like a job for aspect programming? A typical scenario would be to start an application, configure the traced methods dynamically (in a separate file or similar) and then everytime a selected method is called a line with its name (and arguments) is printed out to System.out (or some log file). Naturally one could think of tens of additional features, but this basic set would be a great tool. BTW, I use Eclipse interactive debugger too, not only the System.out tracing technique, but both have some advantages and sometimes Eclipse is not enough.

• Using multiple SWF Object - Flash doesn't focus on rollover

  I've got a page with multiple embeds of Flash objects, including dynamically created graphs. I'm including them all with SWF Object JS declared in the header. It works fine in the fact that all are loaded. But, for some reason when you move down on the page (so they're out of view) and back, or click on another object it no longer has focus when you're rolling over. I.e. I have a flash menu that moves on rollover. When you go down the page, click on something, then go back up it no longer response to rollover. I've seen bits on here and elsewhere about losing focus in Firefox (which is the browser Im using - i havent managed to find this bug in IE) but it's talking about literally not being able to type or whatever, when you click on it. This is on rollover. Has anyone got any advice or thoughts on this subject?

  I am working on a survey application in ruby on rails and on the results page I want to let users filter the answers by a bunch of demographic questions I asked at the start of the survey. For example I asked users what their gender and career was. So I was thinking of having dropdowns for gender and career. Both dropdowns would default to all but if a user selected female and marketer then my results page would so only answers from female marketers. I think the right way of doing this is to use named_scopes where I have a named_scope for every one of my demographic questions, in this example gender and career, which would take in a sanitized value from the dropdown to use at the conditional but i'm unsure on how to dynamically create the named_scope chain since I have like 5 demographic questions and presumably some of them are going to be set to all.

  Hi Folks, I have a problem in an iPhone application. Application has a table view controller with custom table view cells. Each cell has a Label (please correct me if I need to use text view etc). I am getting text dynamically from a web service call and I don't know how long text gonna be. Now problem is that I want to adjust the table view cell height based on text I receive. How can I grow Label or TextView height withinin table view cell so it can contain all the text and in effect grow table view cell height. Does anyone know how to handle this kind of design problem?   I have a class with various public properties which I allow users to edit through a property grid. For persistence this class is also serialized/deserialized to/from an XML file through DataContractSerializer. Sometimes I want to user to be able to save (serialize) changes they've made to an instance of the class. Yet at other times I don't want to allow the user to save their changes, and should instead see all the properties in the property grid as read only. I don't want to allow users to make changes that they'll never be able to save later. Similar to how MS Word will allow users to open documents that are currently opened by someone else but only as read only. My class has a boolean property that determines if the class should be read-only, but is it possible to use this property to somehow dynamically add a read-only attributes to the class properties at run-time? If not what is an alternative solution? Should I wrap my class in a read-only wrapper class?

  On the iPhone, if you touch and hold your finger on an icon, it starts vibrating, then you can drag them around while the other icons move aside and rearrange dynamically. I'm trying to figure out how to do this inside an application with a grid of images or buttons. I don't need them to vibrate, but I do want the UI to allow the user to drag them with real-time dynamic reordering and then return the new position (ie, an int for accessing a mutable array). Any ideas how to do this? Any sample code out there? Thanks!
