    The Ninject initialization works fine when i run my application directly from VS2010, but if I deploy the application to our custom "plugin" environment I get this error when I run the app and it tries to initialize Ninject.   • Rails equivalent of respond_to |format| with a straight render

    I'm working with ActiveResource a lot so my service models are only using XML. Thus, I have no need for a respond_to block, I literally just render :xml => @model I can't however figure out how to render a 404 header using this. I've had to resort to respond_to, which I think adds a few unnecessary method calls. Here's what I'm using: respond_to do |format| if (record_found) render :xml => @some_record else format.xml{ head :not_found } end end but I just want something like render :xml => head :not_found which doesn't work. Can anyone tell me the proper syntax?

  • Storing date and time as epoch vs native datetime format in the database

    For most of my tasks I find it much easier to work with date and time in the epoch format: it's trivial to calculate timespan or determine if some event happened before or after another, I don't have to deal with time-zone issues if the data comes from different geographical sources, in case of scripting languages what I usually get from database when I request a datetime-typed column is a string that I need to parse in order to work with it. This list can go on, but for me in order to keep my code portable that's enough to ditch database's native datetime format and store date and time as integer. What do you guys think?

    Hello, I am creating a random ID using the below code: from random import * import string # The characters to make up the random password chars = string.ascii_letters + string.digits def random_password(): return "".join(choice(chars) for x in range(32)) This will output something like: 60ff612332b741508bc4432e34ec1d3e I would like the format to be in this format: 60ff6123-32b7-4150-8bc4-432e34ec1d3e I was looking at the .split() method but can't see how to do this with a random id, also the hyphen's must be at these places so splitting them by a certain amount of digits is out. I'm asking is there a way to split these random id's by 8 number's then 4 etc. Thanks

  • Human readable and parsable date format in Java.

    I want to save a Date object to a readable string (for example 22/10/2009 21:13:14) that is also parsable back to a Date object. I have tried many things and the best I could find was to use DateFormater for parsing and formating but it has a setback. When you format a date you lose seconds information. I tried to find if there is an option to format it and display the seconds (even better would be to the millisecond level since that's the resolution the Date object allows you to have) but I came up short. Any ideas?

  • iphone sdk conditional in switch function

So it generates a random number, and the switch algorithm swaps the chosen image with the one in the imgview. but I want a switch in the settings app to toggle which set of images to use. I know pretty much how to do it...it's just that it doesn't work. Now the desired report format is EmpId OrderId Acme's Profit Evolve's Profit ----- ------ ------------- --------------- 1 1 700 $ 700 $ 2 1 500 $ 500 $ 3 3 1000 $ 1000 $ I tried hard at the crosstab but I'm unable to figure out how to group the records. I tried moving CompanyName in CrossTab columns and moved EmpId in rows & tried a cross tab group but results are not as expected. My questions are 1) Is this format achievable with a cross tab ? 2) How do I group record's by EmpId's in my crosstab in such a way that the Companies are moved horizontally ?

    Hi, I would like to create my own data format for an iPhone app. The files should be similar structured as e.g. Apple's iWork files (.pages). That means, I have a folder with some files in it: The file 'Juicy.fruit' contains: Fruits ---> Apple.xml ---> Banana.xml ---> Pear.xml ---> PreviewPicture.png This folder "Fruits" should be packed in a handy file 'Juicy.fruit'. Compression isn't necessary. How could I achieve this? I've discovered some open source ZIP-libraries. I am not that good in hibernate Part of the Mapping File <property name="DateOfBirth" type="java.util.Date"> <column name="DATEOFBIRTH" /> </property> I am using GWT Date picker Short date format i.e. yyyy-MM-dd. I am getting the value from the date picker using View.getUserDateOfBirth().getValue() But when I am saving the date 2010-11-30 into the datebase it is saving it as 2010-11-30 00:00:00 instead of 2010-11-30 So, I want it to be saved in the database as in this format 2010-11-30?? I have many things such timestamp but i not being able to configure it. I think this part <property name="DateOfBirth" type="java.util.Date"> <column name="DATEOFBIRTH" /> </property> should be changed but I do not know what to change

    I've got a pointer to a string, (char *) as input. The date/time looks like this: Sat, 10 Apr 2010 19:30:00 I'm only interested in the date, not the time. I created an "input_facet" with the format I want: boost::date_time::date_input_facet inFmt("%a %d %b %Y"); but I'm not sure what to do with it. Ultimately I'd like to create a date object from the string. I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track with that input facet and format, but I have no idea how to use it. Thanks.

    I am trying to learn the following things: How mp3 file looks like internally? I found this: http://mpgedit.org/mpgedit/mpeg_format/MP3Format.html but it seems old. Is there any recent changes to the format? I couldnt find any. How to open a mp3 file in java and look for bytes? I tried using audiostream but I am getting a lot of zeros and signed short integers which nowhere resemble the header/body format as mentioned in the above link. Am I wrong in interpreting the bytes? How to get amplitude, frequency and pitch of a mp3 file? No idea. Can you please suggest some book or tutorial? Can you please help me in getting the solution for the above questions? I am sorry if some questions appear to be naive, I am a just begun to learn mp3. Thanks

    I need to change the log format of my rails app. I put this file in lib directory and required it in development.rb env file. require 'hodel_3000_compliant_logger' config.logger = Hodel3000CompliantLogger.new(config.log_path) and I should get the output of the development.log file as follows: Jun 28 03:05:13 millisami-notebook rails[18243]: Memory usage: 86888 | PID: 18243 I get this exact log when I start my app with script/server (Mongrel). But when I run the app via Passenger, the format being logged is Rails' default. Why doesn't Passenger write to the log file like Mongrel does?

  • Seeking a GUI auto-format feature for T-SQL

    Is there a freely available GUI tool that will allow interaction with Microsoft SQL Server (via T-SQL) that provides an auto-format feature? I constantly find myself writing queries in SQL Query Analyzer (Microsoft’s standard GUI tool for T-SQL) and cutting/pasting the whole thing into SQLyog (a GUI tool for MySQL), where I can press F12 and have it reformatted into an easily readable, industry standard format. I then cut/paste this back into Query Analyzer to execute. I do this all the time at work and haven’t been able to find an alternative. I realize that SQLyog is no longer free software, but what I’m looking for is a specific alternative to a MS SQL Server interface (with auto-formatting). Thanks in advance for your help.

When I excute this in ruby, in result set the sent_date is stores as (Tue Apr 20 00:00:00 UTC 2010) messages = Message.find_by_sql(sql) puts messages[0]['sent_date'] puts statement prints "Tue Apr 20 00:00:00 UTC 2010" how to get same date format in mysql result and ruby result set.     I have a beagleboard with TMS320C64x+ DSP. I'm working on an image processing beagleboard application. Here's how it's going to work: The ARM reads an image from a file and put the image in a 2D array. The arm sends the matrix to the DSP. The DSP receives the matrix. The DSP performs the image processing algorithm on the received matrix (the algorithm code uses about 5MB of dynamically allocated memory). The DSP sends the processed image (matrix) to the ARM. The arm received the matrix. The arm saved the processed image to a file. I'v already written the code for steps 1,3,5. What is the easiest way to do steps 3+4 (sending the data)? Code examples are welcome.

This article suggests setting up an iphone driver with Capybara.register_driver :iphone do |app| http://blog.plataformatec.com.br/2011/03/configuring-user-agents-with-capybara-selenium-webdriver/ but I'd like a more flexible approach where the mime type is set via the url extension localhost/index.mobile and where I can do this visit user_path( format: :mobile) Rails understands the extension and sets the format in the params hash, but how do I get the url helper methods to add that to all urls as a file extension?
